Freedom Weekend

Yesterday was the 4th of July, Independents Day! A day of Freedom. Things were so busy, I didn't get the chance to do my blog.

Patrick and I decided to clean the house before enjoying the festivities. It was one of those days, where one thing lead to another, and we ended up cleaning an extra couple hours!

I asked Patrick to water my plant above his chair. He then said we needed to trim it because the branches where looking a little shaggy. So, I told him which ones to cut, and just as he was getting the last one, the plant in all it's glory, when dumpling down, all the way to the entry way! Dirt went flying as well as a few extensions of the plant!

The hook broke! I couldn't believe it, till I remembered this hook has been up there for 17 years. Guess I'm lucky it lasted as long as it did. lol With dirt all over the corner area where Patrick's chair was till me moved it, and more dirt down by the door. Patrick cleaned up around the door, and I wiped down the walls, carpet, and railing. Patrick picked up the plant and took it outside to add more dirt to it, while I decided to try and rescue the broken pieces.

broken parts
Hopefully they will grown in the water and I can add them back to the plant once it gets back on the growing stage.

Patrick was a sweetheart, he add more dirt and watered it. Then he put a new hook up there,. It was then put back in its place.

It took a good 2 hours just cleaning it up. We were dusting the windows anyway, so it just added to more work. The plant isn't as full as it was, but it's still a plant at this rate. I'm surprised it didn't get thrown out off the deck. lol - He won't do that, so it's safe.

We ended up bring out the carpet cleaner.

After we finally got everything cleaned up, we enjoyed the festivities with our neighbors. We played games and had a great time. By the time it was over, I was took tired to write the blog. lol

Today was a busy day as well. We went to the casino, then to mom and dad, then came home. We played games at the casino, and played more games at mom and dads. We went to Arby's to get supper and then played more games. Tonight I'm hoping to be working on my applique. Tomorrow is Brazilian Embroidery and I'll be started my new piece. I'm looking forward to doing another one. Mom is coming as well, so that will be fun. Tuesday is QOV, and I'm exited to meet everyone. This week is a good quilting week. One to be Happy Quilting!!
