A Day Behind - Two Days In One

Okay, ended up calling it a night last night before I could get my blog written, so here's two days in one! Again.

YESTERDAY -

It was a half way good day yesterday. I visited with Cherrill in the morning - and as I walked home my phone told me I was supposed to be at my message therapy. So, I called Cameron to see if I was supposed to be there, thinking I had another hour....yep! I was supposed to be there. He checked the calendar and said if I could get there in the next few minutes, then he will have time to do me since his next appointment wasn't till 11:30 am. (It was 10 am). So, I said, "I'm out the door and on my way in 2 mins." Arrived about 5 mins late for my appointment. Got in right away, but he had to clean up the station before I could get my message. That was fine. It turned out great.

Came back home and pulled out the cross stitch to get a few stitches in. Didn't get a lot but was able to get some in.

I was able to get the shoulder done, and started on the back of the neck. I'm now working more in the hair.

Then it was time to go bowling. I bowled a 178, 181, 143. That didn't help - went down a pin in average. At least we won all 4 games, really not sure how since Patrick wasn't doing so good. But the guy bowling on the other team who's as good as Patrick wasn't doing good either.

Had a great day after all.

TODAY -

I didn't have to go to Cherrill's today. So, I slept in. Not late - only till 8 am. I needed it. Just couldn't get myself to get up.

Once I was up and moving around, I played some games. Then I got up and started working on baking Sourdough bread. It turned out awesome!

One of my better sourdough breads. Then I put in a turkey roast so we could have turkey on toast. Patrick had the turkey and toast separate, but I did the turkey on top of the bread. It was awesome!

I was going to give this one to our neighbors, but since he didn't show up, we cut this one and I cooked the other one after dinner. So, he got it fresh out of the oven. I texted him and he came over about 3 mins before it came out of the oven. Then he sniffed it all the way home. LOL

While the bread was cooking, I pulled out the Black and White quilt to work on. I quilted quiet a bit, and decided I'm going to have to go "cross ways" with the quilting.

So, right now I'm just going one way for about 6 to 8 rows and then will turn and go the other way later.

I'm having fun with this - hard to believe. I guess I'd rather quilt then do the other work. Good for me, because I have a LOT of quilt tops that need to be quilted.

And as always, I like the back the best. I always use a sheet on the back. I also love solid colors on the back. It gets too busy for me when it's flowery or busy. I just like to be able to see the quilting. Plus I think I do a good enough job on quilting that it's worth looking at.

I also worked on the family genealogy. I was able to add a few more names to our family. Now I have Funck added to my family tree. Interesting, we knew a few Funk's in the military and it's interesting that we connect to them. But then if one really thinks about it, we're all related in some way.

What I'll do tonight - not sure. Exercise for my hip, yes. After that, who knows. May pick up the cross stitch and get more done there. I did at least an hour on quilting - actually about 3 hours.

Life is good, Life is busy, and I'm still here. That's saying something! LOL (NO, there isn't anything wrong with me medically - yet - I just think it's awesome I'm still alive! LOL) I've tried a few times to kill myself - by accident. So, far I'm good!

While I can and while I'm still here, I'm glad to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Today Was A Better Day

Okay, today was better. I didn't have the 'issues' I had yesterday.

Went to check on Cherrill. She gave me a poinsettia because she had more than she needed. We chatted about how our holiday went. We chatted about the new neighbors that seem to have all their vehicles out in the yard. There must be 4 trucks and 2 cars. It's junking up our neighborhood. 😞

Called Ruth to see how she was doing. She was ticked because her daughters took over on selling the house. They sold it way too cheap. Guess Walter didn't do his job. He called her daughters when he had questions or concerns and he never answered her calls.

Then I called Uncle Bob to wish him a Happy Birthday. He was at the casino playing poker for his Birthday. I chatted with my Aunt and told her to tell him I called.

And then, I got a call from Dian Keepers telling me they are in the process of buying the house that is up the hill from us. They won't be moving in till Feb. So, we chatted. She's going to call mom and let her know as well.

I worked on another load of laundry, just to keep it up. Since I'm home, it's so much nicer to have the laundry basket very low.

Then I sat and watched TV along with working on my cross stitch.

I had a visit from the frog today.....it was a mistake that I made a while back. I couldn't believe i got the colors wrong!

So, if your one to see the differences, it's in the shoulder. I had put a big pink area in there. I had to take it ALL out. It's about 200 stitches worth that were over 1. UGH! I took it out and put it back in with the right color. I also finished the 10x10 area before that. It worked out better doing it right. But it was a pain in the "ARSS!" At least I was able to fix it before it was too late! This skin has been a nightmare at times for me. I like the way it looks, but I'm not that crazy about how the thread thins while I work it. It's getting close to the face, so I'm excited to get this done. I watch others get their stuff done so much faster than me. But then I think it's because they work only on cross stitch, while I work on other stuff as well. Hard to say. Maybe they are just faster than I am.

I started working on the Black & White quilt for Katt. I'm just quilting straight lines like she asked. Some I'm cutting the squares in half with quilting. The yellow is my light.

I got a lot done in an hour. So, I'm thinking this will go pretty quick. I'm hoping. At this rate, I'll work on my cross stitch in the afternoons and work on the quilt a night. I don't know if I'll get to work on the quilt tomorrow, since we bowl. I'm going to try and get an hour in tomorrow.

I do have my message therapy tomorrow, so it will be a wait and see day. When my message is in the middle of the day, then it's hard to see what I can get done tomorrow.

Life is good, I'm still moving along. I wish at times I was a little quicker at making things, but then that would take all the fun out of it.

So, I keep moving along, and I'm Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Yep, Another One Of Those Days.....

We all know how "those days" go. So, here we go! Started out ready to have breakfast before heading to Cherrill's.

Well, I forgot to take my drink, that I take every morning BEFORE breakfast. Didn't realize that till Cherrill called to tell me I didn't need to go over this morning. That was right after I took my bagel out of the toaster and STARTED to put the cheese on it. With my ear to the phone while Cherrill was asking about Thanksgiving and telling me about hers, I couldn't get the cheese on the HOT bagel. Then I realized I needed my hot drink, so made the drink and started drinking it while chatting with Cherrill. Of course I ran out of my blueberry cream cheese and had to deal with only half a bagel with it on it. Once she got off the phone, my bagel was cold but still crusty. Oh, well. I can deal with that, no to worry.

Then I got onto my game. Got the awards I did for the last week. Played a couple more. Then decided I better put a couple hours in on my genealogy. WELL, that seemed to be a bust! I was looking for Patrick's great grandfather in newspapers.com to find a TON of Patrick Coffey's. Out of all the Patrick Coffey's that I found, not one was worth squat! One went to prison for murder. Even tried to comment suicide in prison. One was a thief. Once was a drunkard who beat his wife, till the nephew came in and hit him in the head - which killed him. I was laughing at Patrick telling him that so far I haven't found a Patrick Coffey worth their salt. No, he wasn't named after him - we did ask that before his mom pasted away. So, I'm having one heck of a time finding this Patrick Coffey that he's related to. Then I worked on my side of the family. That didn't go anywhere either! I couldn't believe I couldn't find anyone I was looking for. I wanted to check on a newspaper clipping about the accident that happened in 1893/4 where one of my great grandmother's Aunt's lost her eye. I wanted to see if I could find out what happened. No such luck.

Now that got me to about 3 pm this afternoon. I did work on laundry - so I can't say my day was that bad. I pulled out the stuff for Katt's quilt and wanted to wait on Patrick to bring me some painters tape to use for quilting lines.

I did get about 30 stitches in on the cross stitch. Since Patrick was coming home late, I waited to start supper. We had decided yesterday to have waffles with bacon. So, I started the bacon, timing it just right. I mixed the batter for the waffles. Hooked up the waffle iron pan. It was going a good 15 mins before I needed to put the batter in. I wanted to be sure it would be ready when I put the batter in. So, as the bacon was about half way, I added the batter to the waffle machine.....waited......waited.....then just before Patrick would come in, I opened the machine......OH CRAP! It split in HALF! I forgot to spray it with oil!!! It stuck to the pan!! So, for 10 mins before Patrick got home, I was picking the cooked waffle off the grill!! It wasn't coming off!! The blueberries made it stick REAL GOOD! Unplugged and picked till Patrick came in the door. He laughed. Then said, "Can you use the batter for pancakes?" So, I ended up with pancakes and scrapped the waffles. I got a toothbrush and started cleaning it out of the waffle grill. What a PAIN! Oh, well, that's okay, the day can still get better......

Then it was time to shop on Amazon for gifts. No problem, I can do this! Heck, NO, I can't! I ended up ordering my siblings their gifts by deleting them from the list that comes to me. Then I had to go back and do them all by themselves. OH CRAP! I forgot to add the gift card! Now, I had to delete them all and start all over again. Well, that was easier then when I was trying to get them shipped to them on the same order!! That was a night mare. Even Patrick came over and finished the order for me. Then I ended up doing the gift orders that were being shipped to the siblings. Ended up placing orders, deleting orders, and doing it again!!! What a NIGHTMARE!!

Okay, deep breath. I can still quilt on Katt's quilt. That WAS my plan for tonight.....OH CRAP, it's 9:30 pm already!! I wasted 3 hours on that dang order!!!

Now I'm going to do my exercises, and call it a day......not a good day for me....but it's a day! Amazing how I can waste a day and in a blink of an eye the day is over! When will I learn?! NEVER!

OH! One good thing came today! My two kit's I ordered for my seasons - Sampler Cat's!

So, can I say I did anything today?! Nope, other than get an order ordered. Big whoop! No crafting, no quilting, no visiting, no walking. UGH.

So, that being my day, Life is still good, I'm still here. (laughing) I'm still wishing I was Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Enjoying Some Quiet Today

Today I was up early. Didn't have a good night because of my reflex.

So, my morning was starting out with playing games. As well as working on my laundry. Did the sheets, now I need to do our clothes tomorrow. Have plenty of laundry to get caught up on. lol

Then I sat and enjoyed working on my cross stitch.

The elbow is done and working up to the hand now. There are a lot of places for the beads. This is really going to be full of beads! Hard to believe, but I can tell where they need to go. lol

I was thinking of starting the quilt today. I may get started on quilting it tomorrow. I told Patrick I needed some of his painter's tape. I think I'll work on the cross stitch in the day time and quilt at night. Once I get started, I'll have to make sure I put an hour a day in - at least!

We had bowling tonight. The league decided to give that team a second chance. They have to behave for the next 12 "nights." It's going to be interesting but we can give them a chance.

I bowled a 176, 172, 165 - so I stayed closer to my average. Didn't help me go up though. We still lost all 4 games. We lost two games by 1 pin, and then 6 pins. Can't seem to get a break.

Life is good, Life is fun, and Life is about forgiving and moving on. That doesn't mean I will forget about being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Another Saturday.....

Today was another one of those days. We headed to the casino - the usual, lately. We did come home with some money - a little more than we started with anyway. It was nice.

We headed to the movies after. We went and saw the movie "Coco" which turned out really good. I really enjoyed it, and hard to believe I did get a little emotional. I couldn't believe it, but I really did get into the movie. It was really good and I'd go see it again. I love Disney movies!

Came home and I played a few more games. I really haven't done much since we got home. I did fix supper but that was about it.

I was able to get more stitches in the cross stitch, last night. I'm really liking where this is going. I'm hoping to get a few more stitches in while watching another movie on TV. Chances are, after my exercises I might not work on it. I'll see what I can do. If not, I'll be working on it more tomorrow.

Life is good, life is enjoyable, and I'm still enjoying my Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Decorating For The Holidays!

This morning I woke around 4 am. Katt hadn't left yet, but I knew she was about ready to leave. I decided to go back to sleep and let her go without my bothering her on the way out. We said our goodbye's last night. She's always put around 4 am, so this wasn't anything new for her. She was home by noon.

Patrick and I went through our Christmas "stuff" and pulled out a few things that we wanted to display. I wanted the big tree this year, but didn't want to have to rearrange the house to get it up. He brought it in and it didn't fit where I wanted it. So, he took that back out in the garage and brought the little white tree we've used the last couple years. We put the boxed houses out this year instead of the houses that light up. I was okay with that. We pulled a few big Santa's out and put them around the room. I think it's on the less side and Patrick thinks that's all we needed. I would like more, but I'll decorate the pictures on the wall to look like packages, and that might just do it. I'll look for some ribbons to put on the wrappings.

So, after all that, we sat and watched the first "Harry Potter" movie.

I worked on my cross stitch when I could. I got the knee done. Now I'm working up the elbow area, but first have about 50 stitches to put in first. It's getting closer to getting done. I can't wait to get this done now. I want to start on the Christmas one, and may do that yet. I also have the other "Sampler Cat" that is Autumn. I also have a couple that need to be finished. So, I need to think about what I'm going to do. I want to start Katt's quilt. I really need to get started on quilting that. I may pull that out this weekend and work on it as well.

While Katt was here, she asked about the quilt. I told her it was ready to be quilted, but that's about it. Haven't touched it since May. Guess I better get moving. I'll pull it out this weekend and work on it. I think I know what I'll do. She just wants straight lines on it. I will do that, and it will go quick. I doubt I'll have it done for her Birthday in March, but I can try. If I put an hour a day in, it should get done little by little.

In the meantime, staying Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

This is to wish all my readers - who surprise me that you do read this - a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

Our thanksgiving was spent with my parents and my nephew's family. We had an awesome time wit family.

Katt is leaving in the morning and our visit with my daughter is over. I'll miss her but that's what life is all about. I'm proud to have had her for Thanksgiving again. I'll miss my grand kitty as well.

I hope each and everyone of you had an awesome Thanksgiving. I'm thankful for my family and friends. Several texted me with Happy Thanksgiving.

Life is great - May we all get back to being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

An Interesting Day Before Thanksgiving

Usually today is prep day. But this year we are going to my parents for Thanksgiving because dad wanted to do the turkey. I'll miss not doing a turkey this year. I really wanted to have the turkey here, but wanted to keep dad happy too. I just hope my folks don't cook the why they have lately. They tend to take the lazy way of cooking. So, not sure how it's going to go tomorrow. Hopefully dad will put the turkey in early....but they tend to wait and do other things first. We will see!

So, this morning I worked on the "books." I balanced our checkbook and GGW's checkbook. Paid a couple bills. Just kept busy and let Katt watch TV since she doesn't have TV at her place. Costs too much for her.

Patrick got home. The afternoon was filled with playing a game with both of them. It was fun, and of course Katt won. She's always good at winning.

I roasted some cauliflower and it was AWESOME! I ate most of it! It was so good.

Then I made gyoza's for them and me. I made theirs different then mine because Katt doesn't like ground Turkey. I couldn't have ground beef, so I made mine with turkey and they got beef. Katt got the carrots and potatoes grated and I did the rest. I chopped up a lot of veggies for mine and added the turkey. They turned out really good! I really liked them better than the ones they got. I steamed mine while I deep fried theirs. I love the taste of mine better. lol

Got back to working on my cross stitch. I have part of the hair done. I will be working on the knee next and then work my way backup again. It's getting closer to being done. I think it's coming along great. I just need to sit down and work on it.

I went looking for my Janlynn Sampler Cat that I needed for all four seasons. I needed Winter and Spring. I did the summer one, and have the Autumn one. When I was looking, it was getting hard to find. Then to my SHOCK - they were selling the kits for $80 and up!! I found someone on eBay that was selling them for $21 and I bought both of them for that cost. I didn't want to pay $126 for the kit. I'm in shock that a kit would go for that much! I do like the Janlynn kits. I really wanted to have the four seasons so I could exchange them through the year. I may start the next one after the first of the year.

After supper Katt and I worked on a pecan pie. I did the crust and she did the pie. It looks great. We only did that because mom said they got pumpkin pie at Costco and apple pie. Patrick told them he wanted cherry or pecan pie. So, they didn't get what he wanted. This way he got his pie and we won't take it along.

Not sure what I'll be able to do tomorrow because I'm doing the rolls and the sweet potatoes. Then off to the folks.

Life is good, and life is full of surprises. I'm enjoying life by being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Today is my 35th Anniversary! Hard to believe we have been married that long.

It started out with me taking a little time getting out of bed. Then headed over to Cherrill's to help her out. We chatted for awhile. While I was gone, Katt made some cookies.

Came back and enjoyed some time relaxing. I played for awhile and cleaned up a little. Patrick got home at noon. I made him a grilled cheese. He brought me a dozen roses for our anniversay. I gave him a gift of 3 hours of message.

After lunch Phil came out and we enjoyed some time with him. It was so good to have him over for awhile.

After Phil left Patrick and Katt went to get some tires on her car. They were gone for a little over an hour. I cleaned up my email and checked on some genealogy. I added a few names to Patrick's side of the family.

Then got a text from Katt that they were ready to go to the Outback and to please be ready when they got home. I looked up the menu online to see if there was something I could eat. I found a talopia (sp) fish with crab meat. I was really looking forward to having that. We got to the Outback - no talopia fish!! I almost cried because there wasn't anything on that menu I could have!! I don't like Salmon. So that was out. I don't care for "grilled chicken" but ordered it anyway. I found the chicken to be overcooked and too spicy. The chicken was almost rubbery. Not my day today....couldn't do anything right today.....oh, well.

I was kinda hoping Patrick would come home with a cat or kitten....no such luck. I'm really missing a pet around here!! I really want another cat, but he's just not ready to have another one. So, in the meantime I just wish.

Came home and made some hot chocolate for dessert. With heavy cream! Not what I'm supposed to have!

So, I'm quiet and staying to myself. Patrick didn't have a good day either. So, he wasn't in a good mood, which put a damper on my day as well.

Life is good, life is a pain at times, and life will keep going, even if it isn't as we wish it would be. I'll try to keep up and be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Meeting Day And So Much More!

This morning I was up and going. I had breakfast with Katt. Then off to Cherrill's. She wasn't going to the meeting because she had a lot she wanted to do. So, I headed over to our meeting.

We had a good meeting. Only 5 of us made it, but that's understandable. We decided to have a Christmas meeting at my house on the 18th with potluck. Should be fun! We were talking about having an exchange. Not sure if everyone is for that, but I think that would be awesome.

I bought this from a gal that makes them. It's a pincushion that is wool. I got this for mom for Christmas.

I also got this one! I love this mouse!! It's all wool. The gal did an awesome job on it. I have Sandy's with me too. I can't wait to give her her mouse! After she made ours she decided it would be more then $20 next time. I just love this!

On my way home, Katt texted and asked if I still wanted to go to "Mr. J's" food stand. I said yes and we decided she'd meet me back home. After her shopping she came home. Patrick was home and he wanted to go along for a burger too. We got there are realized they changed it to a BBQ stand. It used to have the best burgers in town! So, we went to another one that was close to where I used to work 30 years ago. It was EXPENSIVE! We got our burgers and I think Katt was disappointed she didn't get the fries she would have at Mr. J's.

Came back home. We all worked on rolling the Bon Bon's that we make when Katt's around. They are her favorite Christmas candies that we make. We haven't made them in about 3 years, so I was game. She's taking half the batch home with her. She was eating the Bon Bon's as we were rolling them. Tomorrow we will dip them in chocolate.

After we got back and the Seahawk game was on, I worked on my Mirabilia piece. I like the way it's coming. I had changed the hair a little to add the red in the brown. I like how it turned out. I really wasn't sure if I would, but looking at the photo, it doesn't look bad at all. I'm getting closer to getting the cross stitching done and then I can move on to the beads. That is going to take some time as there are a TON of beads on this piece.

I tried to make some caramel nuts but it didn't turn out. The nuts are more sugar then caramel. Not sure what I did wrong. Probably didn't let it cook long enough or I cooked it too long?!? Not sure what the heck I did wrong. Patrick read the instructions and said I did it right, so guess that's not something I'll be able to make in the future. Maybe I'll work on it.

I'm enjoying Katt's cat, Harley. She's a kick. She's not a "lovy, dovy" cat, but she's fun to have around. I'll miss her when she goes. As much as I will miss my daughter.

Life is so unpredictable, so I'm going with the flow today. Whatever the day brought, I was game. I was thrilled to be able to work on more than one piece today. Which leaves me Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Started Out Great...Ended Not So Great....

This morning I was up and moving around 6 am. I just couldn't get back to sleep. I played for awhile. Katt came up and joined me. We had a good morning together.

I got started on my family history. There were a ton of newspaper clippings that I was working on. The ones I found were all on the WINELAND family. I added another 75 names to my tree. I was able to figure out where a couple people belonged. I knew they were related but had some work to figure out where they were related. I must have 10 different John Wineland's that are close in age. One of them is my great grandfather. It's been interesting trying to figure out which John Wineland belongs to who.The newspapers have been a great help. So, I spent a good 5 hours on my family history.

After that I pulled out my Brazilian embroidery to work on. We have a meeting tomorrow and right now I'm really not sure if I'm going or if I'm staying. Should be interesting.

I finished a few flowers and will start on the next section. I like the way it's coming out. I did get the floss I need to work on the other areas when this is done. So, it's good to have the floss now to finish it. Rita was nice enough to order the colors I needed. Now she gets them in sets of 10 when she orders. I bought a couple of the same ones, because they were mostly greens. I can always use green.

We then went bowling! Not my night....guess I'm really loosing it!! I bowled a 156, 126, 174. Dropped another pin!! I can't believe how badly I'm bowing lately. I keep getting close to 100, and when I bowl 100, I'm going to call it quits!! We took the first game - because Joanne bowled a 182 with a 132 average. Then after that we all did pretty bad except Patrick. Never fails!

Now I'm just relaxing before I call it a night. I need to relax after that bowling experience!!

Life is good, Life is fun, and Life is still going on. Which means we all can be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

What A Saturday!

This morning I woke coughing. My allergies decided to get started early this morning. I was up and playing on the tablet while Patrick slept. Katt was already up as she gets up around 4 am every morning.

She came up about a half hour after I was up and started making blueberry muffins. After all that, Patrick and I went to the casino. Katt and Harley stayed behind. Katt wasn't in the mood to go along. So, we didn't do very good. Guess our luck has ran out. No worries, still ahead for the time being.

The mountain was in good view today! Love seeing Mt. St. Helen's on a good day!

We then stopped off and got more groceries. We picked up the stuff we need for baking goodies for Christmas.

Came back home. Katt and I worked on BonBons that we have made for years. They are her favorite, so we are making a big batch. She'll probably be taking some home - if she doesn't eat them before she leaves.

I worked on my family history. Found a family member that I couldn't figure out where he belonged. The good news is, I figured it out!

Then mom and dad came. We went to Red Lobster for supper.

Katt wanted to send a photo to Phil of all of us crammed in the back of mom and dads car. Mom has to take her dog with us everywhere!

I sent this photo to Phil. Since he told me I couldn't eat shrimp - because of health reasons - and I wanted to tease him. I loved the reply I got back...."Hope you didn't eat that."

We came back and played domino's. Patrick won.

Now it's relaxing time and I'm going to work on my family history. I want to get back to where I left off. It's funny how all the sudden I'm finding more family when I couldn't find them 30 years ago. lol

Life is good, life is having family, and life is unpredictable. In the meantime, let's all be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Good Day!

This morning I was up and at Cherrill's early. Then ended up helping with her computer and chatting. Thought I ad plenty of time. When I left her, it was already 10 am.

I went to the Dollar store before going to mom's. The had some more of the box "houses" that work great on the Christmas gifts. I bought some for the bowlers, thought that would be a cool gift box. Then I was off to moms arriving around 10:45 am.

She had a good group there. There wasn't room for me to sit but I found a spot for a few minutes. Heildi brought her Halloween Baltimore Album patterns. I took them because I have the copies and it would be nice to have the originals. Plus I have all the fabric to do them. YEA I KNOW, I'm not doing any quilting lately and I'm picking up more patterns...go figure!

In the hour I was there, I was able to put the top eagle on. I have one more. The more I look at the bottom one, I'm thinking of changing it. I don't know how, but I'm going to figure something out. I may use another one. I have one more to put on and may see if the other one can handle the other eagle. If it can, I will use that second eagle for the bottom and top. I'll see what I'll do. May try to do this on the weekend, may not have time.

Left and went to get my message therapy done. That was an hour. Arrived home to see my daughter made it over. She was here early. It was so good to see her.

We chatted for awhile then decided to go out to eat and then go to the movies. We saw the "Justice League." It was really good.

Then came back home and I had a ton of things I wanted to do, but the time was gone. So, I'm going to be on everyone else's schedule for the next few day. Not sure if I will go to my embroidery group on Monday....hard to say. Katt might like it if I did go.

Life is good, Life is quick, and Life is living. I'm still being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Not Feeling Up To Anything - Day

This morning I did the unthinkable. I slept till 10 am. I couldn't believe it. I couldn't get my body to get out of bed. So, I fell back asleep after Patrick left and didn't see the sun till 10 am.

ONCE I was up, the morning was already gone. I hate that. So, I relaxed for awhile. My migraine was hurting so had to take a couple pills for that. Not good, because I'm not supposed to take pain pills unless I have to. I had to.

I turned the TV on and watched a couple shows. I also pulled out my computer and started in on the family history. I've been working on my WINELAND family. I had a message from another family member that I couldn't answer because there are way too many John Wineland's on my tree. So, told her I needed more information. I'm going through the newsletters and finding a few members I don't have. So, will be trying to figure out where they belong.

Patrick came home and wanted to go to the casino. We went for about an hour and a half. Even though we didn't come home with any money, we are still ahead of the game. Can't win them all.

Got home and Patrick got a call asking where he was. He had a district meeting at the church. So, he took off. He was back in 45 mins.

Now I'm still checking my family history. So, not one stitch got done today. Hopefully by tomorrow I'll have a few stitches in on my piece.

I'm looking forward to being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Enjoyed The Day....Forgot It Was Bowling Night

Started the day off early. Went over to Cherrill's and helped her out.

Came home and worked on my laundry and vacuumed. The got a bright idea of checking to see if I had a frame for my next start.

Next was off to my message therapy! I had an awesome hour of getting a message that killed me! My back was feeling it all afternoon!

Got my frames out and found the right side. I wanted to get it ready for when I'm ready to change or get started on this.

Then I decided to get the floss on the cards. I'm not too thrilled about that, because the cards only had the holes. There was no color marks or numbers where to put the floss. So, now I'm going to have to mark the boards with the marks of the pattern. Funny how the pattern has numbers and color but didn't put those on the boards. I'll figure something out.

I had the pattern enlarged, so the good news is that it's ready when I am now.

I was thinking (while I was doing the floss) about the gal I met at the casino yesterday. She was sitting in the Keno area with her cross stitch. I had to ask what she was working on. She had this really pretty pattern of a cat in the flowers. She told me she got the pattern from the Library. "They have a ton of free patterns to work on." I agree. She's like me, she's done quilting and crochet, but found her true love is cross stitch. I agreed with her!

Then was time to go bowling! Patrick asked why I heated the water when we were going out in 10 mins. I looked at him and said, "We're what?" He reminded me it was bowling night!

Off to bowling. It wasn't Patrick's day till the last game. As for me, I did the opposite as he did. I bowled a 215, 164, 123 - crap! Had 5 splits in the last game. We didn't have Fred bowling tonight. We lost the first game, and we won the rest. Only because Patrick bowled a 267 in the last game. His oher games were 139 and 159. Go figure. He went up a pin and I went down a pin! What a pain!!

Life is good, Life is hard at times, and Life is still going when we are not. That leaves me Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Not A Day For Stitching......

This morning I was out the door by 7:25 am. Met up with Art. Took him some bread I baked yesterday. He loves my homemade bread. I just wish I hadn't cut the dough in half and used a big pan to cook it. Oh, well.

We then headed to Yelm, WA for the casino. We go once a month and I was able to talk Patrick into letting me go this month. Got there and played a few games. I was staying up there, then I started going back up. I start with $100 and when it was time to go, was down to $60. Still had 10 mins to go, so I took $5 and went and played a game I haven't played in a long time. I kept telling myself I needed to leave and get back with Art. So.....I cashed out at $51. Couldn't believe it. Back up to $100. Then I went to check on my 2 keno tickets. My comment to the older guy in front of me (don't know he's name but see him every single time!), was "Not my day today." Then I got my tickets checked (one for the $20 speed keno and $6 ticket for 6 games), and I won $94 on the 6 game ticket with $2 on the $20 ticket! Go figure. I was thinking of changing the tickets but I didn't do it. Funny how I need to listen to my thoughts!!

Came home around 2:30 pm and went to the Dollar store. Picked up a couple things for the Christmas gifts I needed for bowling. I also got the bags for it. Plus my anniversary card for Patrick. Next I'll pick up his gift tomorrow.

I was able to get about 50 to 100 stitches in tonight. Not as much I wanted to get done. I'll work on it tomorrow - after my message therapy!

Life is good, Life is surprising and I'm glad to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Day To Myself - WOW!

This morning I was up and over to Cherrill's to help her out. She's doing good and has some awesome new washer and dryer! Helped her with her computer. Not much to do, since it has to do with the new Internet Explorer. I don't use IE any more because of major problems.

BEFORE I BEGIN - BDEIG - has been featured by Nordic Needle - check it out!

I came home and got started on my laundry. I love the dryer I got from Cherrill. I actually put everything away! I usually let my folded clothes stay on the dryer till I feel like putting them away - a very bad habit. So, today with the dryer not having the back sticking out, it's better that I put them away rather then them falling off the back to the floor. So, I was "a good girl" and put them all away as I went along.

Then I wanted to get some stitching in. So, I spent the afternoon working on my cross stitch and watching TV.

I was able to get the arm going. It doesn't look like a lot, but I figured I did about 500 stitches when one figures 1 over 1 which actually gets me 4 stitches in a one stitch area. I was getting a little confused and had to redo some of the stitches. Taking out 1 over 1 stitches on a 32 ct fabric is not fun! I had to get a new strand a few times when I did that.

I baked bread for Art. I'm taking him out tomorrow. So, I split the bread in half and put it in the usual baking pan - which I should have put in a smaller pan. Oh, well. The bread still came out pretty good.

We had a wind storm today. It was going like mad all night! Miss Kitty, she would have been in here sitting with me through it all. I heard all kinds of stuff going by. Plus the wind was sounding pretty good too.

So, I was thrilled to have a quiet day to myself. No one called, and no one wanted anything. Tomorrow will be different and so will Wednesday, but I take each day as it comes.

Life is good, Life is full, and Life is fun. I keep busy and I keep being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Full Day of Bowling

This morning I was up and ready to go by 9:15 am.

We met up with Kim, Virginia, and Theresa. We car pool! Patrick dropped me off and I was off with the gals. We arrived early to the bowling alley in Longview. The idea was to be there early and get breakfast. They make good meals there. Everyone ordered, and I had french toast with "half hash browns" which in reality were a FULL plate of hash browns. They all had eggs. There was 2 omelettes and Kim had a fried egg. I used to eat that, but now I'm not that fond of eggs. Partly because of my reflex.

After breakfast we went to bowl. I bowled a 137,144, and a 147. Just wasn't my day! I dropped 12 pins in my average! That's how bad it was. I had to bowl straight up the lanes, because my bowl didn't hook. Our whole team - none of us made a 500 series! That's bad.

Came home and was able to get a few stitching in on my cross stitching.

I started on the elbow. I'm getting there. Hopefully tomorrow I can get more done. It's supposed - get that? - supposed - to be a quiet day. Let's see what happens.

Then it was time to go bowling again.......let's see what that will bring.....ugh.  Actually, it turned out pretty good compared to this morning. I bowled a 203, 178, 164. A lot better then thismorning. I actually gained that one pin I lost last week.

Life is good, Life is still going.....and I'm still Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

HAPPY VETERANS DAY!

Today, I'm going to do something different. Today my life doesn't matter for what I did. Today it's about the Veterans in my life and family.

So, THANK YOU, to my friends and family who have served this country.

Great grandfather - John Wineland - Civil War Veteran.

He was injured in the Civil War and was in a wheel chair most of his life.

Great grandfather, James M. Hodge. Civil War Veteran.

Family member - WWII soldier.

Emma Study - WWII.

Another family Veteran (thinking Matheson).

Ed Study and friend - WWI or WWII. (don't have my records handy)

Great Uncle - Orville Matheson - WWII - dead 6 months after coming home. He had a brain clot due to bombing around him. Was part of Patton's army.

WWI - not sure if this is a Study or another family name. Handsome man.

Wayne Matheson - a cousin.

Uncle Bill Taylor. An awesome man! Very much missed.

My father, Myron Taylor, with his father, Myron Taylor.

I believe this is another "Study" family member.

My father and my Uncle Bob - who served in 1960's.

And of course, this is my family - My father, Myron, mother, Shirley (who supposed my father all through his 26 years in the AF), my brother Chris, who served 9 years, myself (didn't serve but would have if the cards would have changed), and my brother, Patrick, who served 20 plus years ending as a Col.

And last but not least my husband.

Oh, I did miss one - my cousin's husband - Mike Foley - who I do not have a photo of. If I did, I would have posted it.

To all those above and those how served with them, THANK YOU! We have a life to be thankful for all you have done. We need more people like you, who care enough to serve. Those who have served are proud and believe in our country.

This is why I'm honored to be a part of Quilts of Valor!

Life is good, Life is hard at times, and Life may be taken, but Life keeps going. There's bowling tomorrow but I hope to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

The Friday Before Veterans Day!

Today I was woken up at 8 am with a phone call. The one day I thought I would be able to sleep in and Patrick gets a call from work. Just what I wanted. The one day I could sleep in and really felt like sleeping in, and the phone rings.

Got the laundry room cleaned up. We bought Cherrill's old dryer that has more buttons then I have on my dryer. We traded out my dryer for this one. Ours is newer but the other one is great. So, ours went in the garage and the other one is in my laundry room. So, it was the usual, clean under, around, and on top of the washer. Once the dryer was in - of course I had to try it! - both of them looked good next to each other. Both front loaders.

After that, I wanted to get into working on my cross stitch.

While Patrick was blowing leaves and getting them in the truck, I was working on my cross stitch. I'm not sure if I will do 1 over 1 again on the skin. It's time consuming and the threads tend to unravel at times. I love how it looks though.

We then took off to the theater and saw "The Orient Express" movie. It was really good! We saw the older version a few months ago, and this version is just as good if not better.

Came home and working on my cross stitch again, while watching "Monsters University." It's really good to. I've like this movie since is came out. Worth watching again

Life is good, Life is hardwork, and Life is still going. I'm still Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Enjoyed Quilting With Friends

This morning I was up early. I was goofing around till I needed to go see Cherrill. I stayed and chatted. I was going to stay home today but while walking over to her house, realized the group wouldn't meet again till December. So, decided I would go, if not to just say hi to everyone.

I got the hummingbird pattern that I had and took it to mom. She was asking about a hummingbird pattern for a baby quilt. She actually wanted to design one and I printed out some hummingbird photos yesterday but told her I had a pattern just like what she was talking about. So, I took it to her this morning. She will blow it up 50% because it's only 22" x 26" or there about.

Right when I was ready to leave, she asked how long I was going to be at the meeting. Told her I was only going for a couple hours. I didn't want to stay till later this afternoon. Really wasn't into it and wasn't sure if mom going would be a problem with me not doing much. As it turned out, I took her with. I actually worked on the QOV quilt top that one of the gals gave me to do the applique on.

I appliqued this bird down. I like the way this one came out. The other one, not so much. But then I don't have the same sides on all four places where she wanted them to be.

The one on the bottom, didn't have the sides that I could hide the "half eagle" on. So, it just looks a little funny to me. I may have to cut that > area on the bottom and curve it around. I'm going to think on that one. The third bird is pinned and ready to be appliqued down. I didn't have a problem with that.

While I was there, I chatted with Rita. She got the patterns in for the class!! I'm excited. I will be teaching beginning Brazilian Embroidery in February. We wanted to get the holidays over. So, she going to see who's interested in the class and then I'll teach it in February. I had another pattern for her to see. Actually I showed her 6 patterns and gave her the order form for pattern. One of them is Virginia Chapman's leaf patterns. It's an awesome beginner piece. We were talking about giving a class on that as well. There was a couple over classes that would work out, and I think Phyllis would do great on teaching the more advanced classes.

I also got one the our new quilters into doing a small BE piece. She started it while I was there and we went over what stitches were in it. We talked about the piece and noticed that the instructions were a little different from the photo. I told her I usually use the photo as a guide.

Mom and a good time while we were there. She took out almost as much as she put in. Don't know what she was thinking. She enjoyed chatting with a couple quilters she hadn't seen in awhile. Kathy W brought a quilt pattern in for mom, and was surprised to see I brought her. The good news is that mom got the pattern and I didn't have to take it to her. 😺

Took mom back home. I left there and was home by 2:10 pm. It was nice to be home! I'm looking forward to tomorrow - no where to go!! Ugh, just realized Patrick has the day off and I don't have to go to Cherrill's tomorrow.....what in the world is Patrick going to come up with?! I have a feeling, my resting day will not be a resting day, now that I look at it.....ugh!! Plus Sunday is double bowling day....HELP!!

Sitting here watching the Seahawks game. I can hope! Life is good, Life is fun, Life is unpredictable. I'm still staying Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Another Blot On Life

I haven't been able (or forgot) to do my blog. I am having to be in the hospital for a few more days.  On March 7th, my daughter's ...
