This morning, I was ready to go after getting a few things done.
I thought about getting tea but decided not to. So, I arrived before everyone else at moms. We talked about all the squares and blocks she's getting ready for the group to work on. There must be enough blocks there to make about 6 quilts if not more. She's working on the red ones, which I need for the quilt downstairs. I'm going to take them to the meeting and see if we could work on putting the top together, ready to sew on. I hope the group will be willing to do them.
I worked on my embroidery.
I wanted to get more done on this. I am almost finished with the leaves in the top left. I did all but that last one. It's coming along. It's looking pretty good. I have a lot more leaves to finish before working on the rest of it. I'm doing it in the order they say, and my train of thought - ground up. Meaning stump comes out of the ground first then the leaves, then the flowers. In otherwards, the order of nature.
Came home and relaxed a bit. Not long, had to do the mask on my eyes first. Then I came in the computer room and worked on the TAYLOR family history. I wanted to get dad's uncles all done. I worked on findagrave.com and was able to get them in my "custody." I'm filling in missing pieces. I can't find enough information on one of Uncle Milton's wives, but I'm working on it. I sent a couple emails asking if they were buried in that cemetery.
Then I gave it a break and went into the living room to watch TV with Patrick.
The Scent of Old Roses is the piece I'm working on. So, I was able to get a lot of stitches in. It's coming along fast for me. I'm enjoying working on it. I have a few more stitches to put in and then I will roll it. I like it. Not my colors, but I do like it so far. I do know I will have a crap load of beads to add to it when I'm done. I don't want to do them as I go. It's going to be the last thing I do on this. But all those empty places are for beads.
Now, I'm ready to call it done. Fireworks are going off as I type this and it's only close to 9 pm. It's going to be a loud night! But then it's the 4th of JULY!! A celebration of a country that has worked hard to keep it's freedom. That may not be for much longer as things are going, but we can hope and pray we will still be going in another 100 years. My ancestors help build this country, and I have more respect for it then most. My family has served this country and will continue to.
And I will keep being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!
