Sewing At My House

This morning, I wanted to up early enough to go down and get a few things done before everyone arrived. They didn't come till a little after 10 am but we did have 5 of us today.

We were able to get 9 pillowcases done. Three of them go to the kits that where done. Colleen took 2 quilt tops home to quilt. She's doing 2 quilts for Saturday as well. We all had fun. It was 2 on the cutting and ironing, with 3 of us sewing. I was sewing on my new machine. At first, I forgot how to do it, but it came to me the more I sewed. I will probably go down tomorrow afternoon and see what I can get done. It may or may not happen, since Patrick wants me to go to the dump with him. I'm going to do all the heavy stuff. lol

Mary did most of this quilt. It's done for Nationals. I didn't take a photo of it done but may do it before I take it to Sherry on Friday. It does need a border on it, because it's a little smaller than we recommend. Mary and I worked another hour after everyone left. I finished it off after she left.

When I was waiting on Mary to get a row or two done, I worked on getting some of the star blocks done that is part of another quilt kit that didn't get done. This quilt we worked on a few sewing days ago.

I was able to get 5 blocks done. I put all the stuff together. I don't know if we will get a full quilt out of it, but if we don't, it will be thinking fast to make a quilt out of them.

Came up and watched TV. I decided to work on my cross stitch and watch TV.

I worked on the top area, then I started looking for the fill in's that needed to be done. I filled in a few of the open spot in the bottom area. Then I filled in the areas that I needed to. It's hard when I only need 3 stitches and then nothing around it to move the thread to. So, I work that area, then have to put the extra thread with my stash and hope I use it. Sometimes the thread gets loose and then I have to use another strand. Not fun. But it's not the end of the world either. Confetti is one of those things you deal with. I'm thinking that's the cat's paw and the tail is higher up where I was working. It's fun to try and figure it out. I will look at the picture later and see if I'm right. I like surprises! lol

It turned out today, was fun. I enjoyed Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!
