Spring Cleaning - Started.....

This morning I was up early. Funny how I couldn't seem to go back to sleep. While I was in the shower Cherrill called and asked me to wait an hour before going over. That woke Patrick - he took the day off. LOL

After going to Cherrill's, we started cleaning the bedroom. We took everything off the dressers and we moved the bed. We vacuumed and dusted (yep, dusted, that job I HATE!) We cleaned everything thing out and I even washed the curtains. When we were done, Patrick said, "One down, 22 more go to." Then he looked in the computer room and said that was next. - That will be an all day task! There is more stuff in there - and like I said before - paper is the worst thing ever made!

Patrick then went outside and worked in the yard. I cleaned up my sewing room - A LITTLE.

I found this in my stuff. I made this when Phillip was little. I think I made it for Katt, but never did finish it. Then I thought I would keep it and give it to a grandchild - which doesn't look like that will happen, so not sure who will get it.

I put my Maderia threads in one container. This was what I got when I bought the Lamplight cross stitch. At least they all fit in this one.

So, I have both sets of floss in the one box and it is all in one place.

Then went outside with the computer and embroidery.

I worked on the flower that I had from that pattern. I'm not sure it's coming out the way I wanted, but it is looking good. I'll probably do the next flower in pink. Don't think my plan to have some envelope bags for my friends will come true. It was a good thought though.

Heyhey was keeping an eye on Patrick.

When Patrick started mowing the yard, I came back in the house.

I was actually watching Flosstube videos. Both the gals I picked to watch were an hour long. I try to keep mine at 30 mins because I know after so long, we tend to want to find something else to do. So, I was getting there too, but kept thinking something good was yet to come. In some cases that's true. I ended one of them early because Patrick came in.

I worked on more of the stocking. I got an email saying my floss is on the way. Hopefully that means Monday. I really do want to get that white coloring in there. I did find some glossy floss that might work, but want to see what the floss comes looks like.

We then went to the movies - "Boss Baby" which turned out really good. I did enjoy it. What I didn't enjoy was the family behind us that had someone kicking my chair, then pulling on my chair every time they got up and left. Drove me crazy! But I was able to get most of the movie in. I bit my tongue and didn't tell them what I was thinking!

Now we're home. I'll get more done on the stocking. Best wishes - Happy Stitching!

A Day of "Not Much" and Frogging!

I was up around 7:30/8 am. I was enjoying my time with Heyhey and my tablet. Before I knew it, I was falling asleep in my chair with Heyhey on my lap. Next thing I know it's 10:30 am. Guess I was still tired. Though I didn't feel like it.

I got the stuff out to make a cake....no milk. Had Patrick pick up some groceries.

Dad gave me these books that mom sent over. I'm thrilled. There are some really good ideas in there and I may do the needle case from here. Not sure.

This is a "before" and "after" photo The before is before I had to rip out what I put in. I was off on my stitches, and I found I was off on the color (bottom part). So, I took it out and am putting it back together. I have a few more to go and then it will be back to what I had before I was taking it out.

Think Heyhey was tired of me working. I also think she's still "gun shy" after taking her to the vet yesterday. She's been very jumpy.

When Patrick got home with the groceries, I was able to make the "Lazy Days Cake" that was his mom's recipe and one of his favorites. Hard to believe we are coming up to a year of her passing. Oh, I hope she's looking down on us in a good light.

Happy Stitching!

A Visit To The Vets

Today I slept till 8 am, so I guess I'm back on track. Yet a 10 am, I wanted to go back to bed! Cherrill called and said I didn't need to go to help her out today. Her grandson helped her instead.

I worked a little on my HAED challenge. I got about 40 stitches in and decided I was tired of trying to work on it. So, I took it off the frame and went looking for my pattern and supplies for the Christmas Stocking.

I had it all ready by the time I needed to take Heyhey to the Vets.

We went to the Vets around 2 pm. She meowed the way there. Then when we arrived she didn't make a sound. She didn't make a sound through the shots. Then on the way back from the Vets, she finally meowed once. It was funny how she shut up for so long. She's a chatty little kitty and that shut her up. We got back, I let her out of the cage, and she went outside. Then she came in. She was mad at me because she didn't know what to do. She was afraid to come too close but she wanted to be close. It was funny how she even was around Patrick.

Before we left, she was up on the deck. She seems to love being up high. We moved the bird feeder (in the background) because she was getting to my hummingbirds. Were it is now, she can't reach it. This is almost comical seeing her get up on the deck rail looking for the feeder.

We got back and I put the fabric ready to work on. Then I decided to work on my stocking.

I now have a start. I had to figure out where to start. I did get a few more stitches in before going bowling.

We bowled tonight. I bowled a 172, 203, 125. I had 5 splits in the last game! I couldn't believe the stuff I was getting! We lost all four games. We lost the first one by 6 pins and the second by 12 pins. Then we got our clocks cleaned in the third game. Not so good.

Looking forward to tomorrow being Happy Stitching!

Energy Still Low, But I'm Still Getting Stuff Done

Today I slept till 8:30 am. I really wanted to sleep longer but had to get over to Cherrill's. I went over right after my shower. Stayed for about 30 mins.

Came home and relaxed for awhile. Then got the laundry going. Worked on laundry all day. I'm almost caught up.

I did spend the afternoon working on my Beautiful Sea Quaker stitch-a-long.

As much as I wanted to nap, I tried to stay awake. My coughing came back a little, so may have to take the cough syrup for bed time again. UGH.

I'm happy the way the Beautiful Sea Quaker is coming along. I have it caught up, but wanted to go ahead and get the border done. I'm not sure if I will do the waves on the bottom. May leave that for the next part. It's coming along great.

I do have two more I want to start. I want to start on Katt's stocking. That will be first to start. I want to wait on my scroll frames that I ordered. I'm hoping they will be here soon. I did put one of my scroll frames up for sale on eBay. I have a lot of scrolls and need to sell the ones I don't use.

I have still been tired during the day. I can't seem to feel 100% lately, but I'm getting there.

I really just did the laundry and work on my cross stitch. I was going to get my stocking ready to work on. I want to finish this up first, then I may take it off the frame and put the stocking on instead. I'm still thinking about it. Depends on how big the fabric is. I put the HAED pattern on the other frame, but I'm thinking I will take it off and use the frames I was using before I put it on the wood frames. I figured out, I really don't have the time to get that done in the challenge. If I had started on it when the challenge was out there, I could have made it. I wanted Nantucket Rose done before anything. Now that she's done, I need to figure out what I want to do now. The HAED is one of those that I'll work on when I'm in the mood. Not sure I like the fabric I used. I'll keep working on it.

Heyhey spend most of the day with me. She's going back in tomorrow for another shot. I'll have to keep her in the house after lunch time. She's not going to be happy with me, but I need to get her in for the last shot.

I have a lot going on, and hoping to finish a few more soon. I'll be listing my "Finish-a-long" stuff for the next quarter. At least I got 2 done this quarter. I'm happy! There have been times I didn't get anything done in that amount of time.

Have a great day and Stay Happy Quilting or Stitching!

A Day With Friends - BFF Meeting

This morning I really didn't want to get up but knew I needed to. We had our Brazilian embroidery meeting today. I did get some TLC time in with Heyhey.

Picked up Cherrill this morning and took her to our meeting. She worked with Pat while the rest of us worked on getting scissor holders started...but that didn't really work out. We had some issues with the pattern. So, a couple of the gals are going to think about it and see if they can get a better pattern. We are trying to decide on what we will do...stay on this path or trying something else. We need to get moving on getting them done for Seminar.

Came home and actually worked on my piece. I figured I needed to get some stitches in today.

I do like the way it's coming out. At first I wasn't sure, but I figured the more I do, the better I can decide if I like the pattern or not.

This photo seems to show more pink. I found it is going to take a skein of floss to do one flower at this rate.

I got back to working on my Beautiful Sea piece. I decided to go ahead and finish up the border. I will also add that corner part (13) to this. Then all I would have to do is put the finishes on the last two parts (14 and 15). Border will be done, so that will be a big help. I have a star fish to put on the bottom left corner. I'm going to finish the border first before I do that fish. Then I can go and put the others things in that I missed.

I've been sleepy all day...I don't think I've had a day in two week where I wasn't tired.....oh, well.

Yesterday I was putting some blogs on my phone. I was checking out a few blogs that are cross stitch. I'll add them to my blog list today. I also need to add a few photos to my tabs. I'm hoping to get that done today as well. May have to wait till tomorrow.

Happy Stitching!

Enjoying A Quiet Sunday!

This morning I was sleeping in. Seem to do that a lot lately. Partly because of the medications. Patrick moved to the couch around 5 am and then when I was up, he moved back to bed.

I baked the sourdough bread I had ready from yesterday. We had that for lunch. Patrick cooked today and had to go into town to get some stuff for supper.

We watched a couple movies.

I finished up the octopus and worked on a couple of the fish. Then I worked on the boarder. I'm getting closer to being caught up. I have the bottom corner to work on once the right side is caught up. It's looking really good. I'm really starting to like this again. No clue what I'll do with it, but I do like it.

Bowling was tonight and I went this time. I bowled a 201, 193, 156. Not bad. I started loosing my "steam" when we got to the last game. I beat Patrick! We won 3 games. I'm happy with that.

Tomorrow is Brazilian Embroidery and I'll take Cherrill with us. Should be fun! Staying Happy Stitching!

Guess I Missed Another Day...

I realized this morning, I forgot to post my blog yesterday....actually didn't do it. Shame on me!

Yesterday Patrick took the day off. I was doing okay, so we decided to get a few things done. We took stuff to the "Visiting Nurses" here in town. Then we got a gift for my daughter in law and sent that off, hoping she'd get it today, but thinking she won't get it till Monday. We then headed up to Olympia and Patrick bought himself a really nice tool box. After that we went to Costco and only bought about 6 things. One being kitty litter. It's cheaper at Costco. Our day was busy.

Came home and I was able to work on my Beautiful Sea SAL before my parents arrived.

I was able to work on the octopus. It's coming along great. I hope to finish the parts that are out there. Then I'll go back to the challenge. I'm almost to the point where I may let the challenge go and start on Katt's stocking. Not sure, but time will tell.

We went out to dinner for Dad's Birthday celebration. We do that all the time. He's Birthday isn't for a couple more days, but he picked this weekend to go out.

Today started out with me going to work. I put in about an hour and a half. Then came home to go out to the casino. Patrick was happy to be going again. We came home with more money then we went with, so it was a good day. We were there for four hours.

Came home to wait and see if my nephew was in town. They hadn't showed up yet. Since they were not here and we were not going to my parents for dinner, we decided to go out. We got a quick meal and then went to the movie "Beauty and the Beast" which I loved. Patrick didn't think it was as good as I thought it was. He did like it though.

Heyhey was keeping watch on the house. She's fun to watch!

It's been a busy two days...and things are getting done....so, I'm off to being Happy Stitching!

Still Coughing...But Life Goes On

Today I didn't have to go anywhere. I ended up getting up at 9 am - just because I was wide awake. I would have slept longer if I could have. I've been sleeping better, but then that has to do with the cough syrup I was given to take. I wasn't snoring much last night, so was able to stay in bed. Thank goodness, was getting tired of going to the couch. I'd get under the quilt on the couch and it would take a few minutes to get warm! That bed was cold!!

It was quilting day today. We were doing a potluck, but I decided not to go. Just not in the mood and still trying to get back to normal.

I decided it was time to get some laundry done....was tired of getting one load in when I felt like it. I was able to get all but one load done. I must have done 5 loads by the time the Patrick got home.

I was working on my cross stitch when I couldn't keep my eyes open. I curled up on the couch, fell asleep - till the phone rang. Why is it that when I figure someone will call, they don't. But the minute I curl up on the couch to sleep - phone rings! What a pain! I was able to get 30 minutes sleep in, so can't complain too much.

This piece is really coming along. I'm happy with the way it's coming. I'm getting tired of the confetti, but lately the threads are being used more then in just one place. It's a pain when I have to thread my needle for one space and then end off the thread.

This is all the colors that I have for this project. It pretty much feels the box. I have some threads that I need to roll, but most of them are already and rolled. I love the colors, but I'm still not crazy about how many different colors there are. I am working on this, so no complaints.

I do want to get Katt's sock started. I will probably get it set up. I'm thinking I will wait till my new scroll frames come in. I'm really excited about getting the frames. They should be shipped by now, so it's just waiting for customs and getting it home.

Life is good. Hope everyone is having fun! Best wishes and Happy Stitching!

A Quiet Morning....Not Afternoon

Today I was up a 9:10 am. I couldn't get myself up. I will admit that the medicine does knock me out. I was also kicked to the couch last night. Patrick said my snoring was the worst it had ever been. Trouble was, I wasn't on my back and I didn't have my mouth open. I was not happy to be kicked out of bed! But I did sleep really well. I went back to bed around 5 am.

HeyHey was driving me nuts today!! She wanted me to let her in with a mouse in her mouth! I couldn't believe it! I sent Patrick a photo of the "gift" she had for us. She would come in (without the mouse) and meow at me the whole time. Then I'd let her out, and I'd hear her meowing at me to let her back in - seeing her picking up the mouse and meowing with it in her mouth! In, out, in out. Drove me nuts.

I did get to sleep and mom called. I didn't get 30 mins of a nap in before she called. Can't win!!

So, while she was outside, she was going after the birds! I watched her swatting the birds.

I was able to get a few stitches in on the cross stitch.

It's coming along pretty good. Not sure I will get much done, but I'm trying. I keep double checking the floss to make sure it's the right color. So, far I'm on.

Can't wait to be back to normal. Being sleepy all day is no fun. AND the doctor said it takes 21 days for the bronchitis to go through it's duration. UGH. I guess the good sign is, I am at 2 weeks now.

Happy Stitching!

Made Changes To Blog

I've made some changes to the blog....not sure I like it, but I'm going to try it out and see how it goes.

Today I started out by being put out on the couch at 3 am. Then when Patrick was up, he told me to go back to bed. I did, and slept till the phone rang at 9 am. I then went over to Cherrill's and helped her out. Once I got back, I worked on getting my video for FlossTube. I ended up doing it twice. I noticed I uploaded or downloaded it wrong. But I'm going to hope it's not a big deal.

I have been trying to get my cross stitch going.

It's coming along pretty good. I'm not getting a lot done. But then I've been so tired lately. With Bronchitis, I need to relax more. So, I'm thinking I'm off to bed early tonight.....can't win!

Hope this find you all well.....Happy Stitching!

Finally Went To The Doctors!

As life goes, no one WANTS to go to the doctors, but I finally decided it was time to get this cough under control! So, after getting up and going to Cherrill's, I called the doctors office and made the appointment for 2:45 pm.

Since I had to take Ruth to the airport, I was ready to go at 9 am. Picked her up and we were off. On the way, we came across the mess of a "road rage" crash. One care was rolled over, a truck had the front smashed in. About 50 feet away was another car that rolled and yet another car off to the right side of the freeway. We drove for another half hour and the North bound had three trucks next to each other, stopping traffic from going any further. Not sure why, but it was weird to see. I was able to drop Ruth off and head on back home. As I got on I-5 from SR205, traffic ended up being bumper to bumper. The most we could go was 30 to 40 MPH. This went on for about 15 miles. I called Patrick to see if I should take the back roads home. By the time we figured it out, and he checked the roads, he called me back and the roads were clearing up. Decided to just keep coming home on I-5. I was surprised when I got home. It only took me an hour and a half. I even stopped at the rest-stop on the way. That ended up being pretty good timing.

I enjoyed some time with HeyHey before going to my doctors appointment. I had to detour and go to the post office to send a package to Canada.

Arrived at the doctors office and got a mask to cover myself since I coughed. I was called into the room in really good timing. I was surprised. There was hardly anyone in the waiting room - till after I got there. Funny how that works, I seem to tell everyone to follow me! Found out I was running a temp. Then my doctor arrived and we chatted - which set off a coughing fit! - she then told me it sounded like Bronchitis! She checked me out and said, "Yep, you've got Bronchitis. Have you had it before?" Yep, a couple years back. I found out, once one gets it, it's easier for them to get it again.....which means me! Off to Safeway for my prescriptions! I saw Dan and he laughed when he saw me with the mask on. I told him I came for my meds. He laughed. I usually just chit chat with him but not today.

Got home and feel tired. Gee, wonder why! Doc told me to take it easy for a few days. If I don't get my coughing down, I'm to go back in. I got some fun mail!!

My parking braids come in!! I really like these! They are cute!!

My "Let Freedom Ring" pattern arrived! There are quiet a few people doing it on IG. They have started already. I'm not going to do it for awhile, but I'm thrilled to have it!

This is where I finished last night. I'm hoping to get more done tonight. I'll be working on it, and about ready to see if I can make the challenge they have for it. I can hope!

May you have an awesome day, and stay Happy Stitching!

Finished "Nantucket Rose"

I tried last night to be able to post my finished Nantucket Rose, but the webpage was down.

Last night was another one of those nights where I was coughing. I did get some sleep, but not as much as I would have liked. Once I did get to sleep, it felt good. Waking up coughing is a pain in the rear!

This is my finished Nantucket Rose. She's washed, labeled and ready to be frame. She's now with the others that need to be framed. I'm hoping to find a good deal with Micheal's and then get it framed. I really like the way the dress drops on the picture.

Okay, back to today. Today I was up and enjoying a halfway decent morning. Patrick finally got up and I was dress and off to work for Carol again today. I didn't work very long, so will add that time to what I work later. She's got a lot that will need to be done. I'm looking forward to the extra time.

I came home. Patrick was gone. We did get our new phones, and Patrick is working on them. He's getting ready to get the information transferred.

I worked on my Heaven and Earth Designs (HAED) pattern. I got about 100 more stitches done on the piece.

I have about 50 other stitches added to this. I'll show it tomorrow. It's coming along nicely. It's not as easy and quick to go through the 25 ct, 2 over 2. I'm slowly getting better, so the amount of work that gets done on this will be little at a time. I'm not sure I will make the challenge deadline, but I'm going to try. I also need to get caught up on the Ocean piece I'm working on.

Bowling was tonight. I bowled a 183, 164, 162. Not my best, but then I was feeling all that great either. I had 2 coughing "fits" while bowling and one of the gals there was keeping her eyes on me. She even had the bowling alley get me Ginger Ale. It was the Canadian Dry. I can drink that, it's the other Ginger Ales out there that is crap. We did win 3 games.

Tomorrow I have a few things I need to do.....maybe Tuesday I will go to the doctors if this doesn't work.

Best wises, Happy Stitching!

The Trials of "A COLD"

It's been a month since I started this "journey" of a cold. It started out as a minor cold, feeling no pain and no worries. Just congestion. I did what most of us do, figured it was fine, I can do this. I behaved and didn't do much for about a week. I stayed away from friends and family for 2 weeks.

That was the way to go! DON'T share was on my mind. I felt a lot better. I did have a "slight" cough, but that's okay, I was taking OTC drugs for it. No worries. I was going bowling, to meetings, and doing fine.

Then last weekend I thought I was great....so I thought! I went out on Saturday, and bowled twice on Sunday....no worries, I was feeling better....NOT.

Monday hit and I was stuffed up! Big Time! I stayed home and "babied" myself. All week I was calling Ruth to take care of Cherrill. We had planned on going to lunch on Friday. Needless to say that didn't happen.

Tuesday brought on the coughing....not good. I started coughing more. That's the coughing that one starts asking for God's help to stop it. It's painful and loud. I'm one of those who coughs from the chest. Deep coughs. I was even up chucking the flem by Thursday night. While one waits for the toilet to reload - of course it takes awhile because you want to flush it again, right away! By then  I was coughing all day and night! No sleep! Tried to get sleep but was only able to get an hour at a time. I would go to the couch so hubby could get some sleep. Poor guy didn't need me coughing in his ears every hour! Not good. Had hubby go get some Robitussin on Friday morning! Every 4 hours I was taking the stuff. It helped. More than I thought it would and a lot quicker! I was able to get more sleep last night. I could get 4 hours at a time with sleeping - a lot better than 1 hour. I've also been going through cola like water! It seems to help...hard to believe, but it does.

So, today, I'm feeling better, not yet 100%, but at this rate getting there. My ribs are soar and I'm popping my ears, but life is good.

Trials of a cold is just that, a trial. -- I should have done something sooner, I could have....etc. I didn't and I'm paying for it. That's part of Life. Because of all this CRAP, I'm sorry to say, I haven't done much of anything. I tried to finish Nantucket Rose - which I finally did last night! I'll show it when I get a good photo. I have vacuuming that NEEDS to be done, plus the kitchen needs mopped...by oh, well....it's having to wait.

Now, I need to behave - re-coop and get back to being what one would call normal. I hope this finds all of you still Happy Stitching!

Day 3 And Still Under The Weather!

This morning I didn't have to be up for anyone, so I slept till 10 am. I needed it as I didn't get much sleep last night.

I enjoyed a few shows that I had taped. Tried to work on my cross stitch. Wonder if it's because I'm so close to having it done, I feel like a truck ran me over!

Poor HeyHey, she didn't know what to do. She stayed close but then went outside all day. It was a lot nicer today outside. I even watched her get a snake and play with it. I needed to go out in the cool weather.

After supper I was able to get more done on my Nantucket Rose. While working on it, I lost a needle. tried to move my needleminder while doing backstitching - and lost it!! Not my night! So, I'm calling it done, will label it tomorrow and finish the backstitching.

So, not only does a cold mess with you, the brain decides to mess with you!

In the meantime - Stay Happy Stitching!

Said, "Ta Heck With This Cold "

After going to bed at 7 last night and waking up several times a night feeling like a ttuck ran me over, decided I was going out anyway! Felt better when I woke up. So, left by 7:15 am and went to Arts. It was our monthly casino trip. I could handle it.

We arived at the casino around 9:15 am. I played on the casino money from my card ($13), for an hour. That's pretty good for me. I played speed keno and won $102. That was awesome! Most of he ime there, I was winning and came hooe with more money then I went with.

Came home after picking up cat foodat Wal-Mart (ugh). Finally cleaned the kitty litter box in the garage. Then called it good.

Sat and worked on Nantucket Rose.

I was hoping to have her done by now, but this cold has gotten in the way. I decided to call it an early night again. I can hope this will go away soon! After r weeks of this, it's getting old!!

Have a great night and stay Happy Stitching!

I've Had Better Days

This morning I called Ruth to take care of Cherrill because I didn't get any sleep last night. I went back to bed and slept an hour longer. That put me behind schedule.

I gave HeyHey some TLC and then headed into town for our Brazilian embroidery meeting. I stayed in the back because my noise was doing it's thing.

I worked on my first envelope bag piece. I was able to work on the stems. I also doodle cloth to see how I'm going to do the flowers.

Came home, not feeling great. I did post on eBay again. I'm selling my scrap squares. On is 1.9 lbs of the bigger squares and one is 1.3 lbs of the smaller squares. All fabric from my stash.

I did work on Nantucket Rose today. Got 800 more stiches to do and she's done. I can't wait, but since this cold is not gone, I'm headed to bed before 8 pm. Hope to feel better tomorrow!

Happy Stitching!!

Sunday Bowling & More

This morning I was up early - about the same time as usual with the time forward. I went to Cherrill's and caught her coming out of the shower. She wasn't expecting me for awhile. I usually don't go over till 10 am on Sunday but today I was there at 9 am. We chatted a while and then I was ready to go bowling.

I didn't bowl the best, but I was able to do good enough to go up 1 pin. I bowled a 179, 161, 169. We bowled here in town, so we didn't have to leave really early to drive several miles. That was nice.

Came home and worked on my cross stitch.

I was able to get a few more stitches (300) in before we had to leave. I am getting really close and really, really want to finish this.

I also marked a piece of fabric with this pattern. I want to do embroidery on this piece. It's for the envelope bags I want to make as gifts to my friends when we go to Seminar. I liked this pattern and want to do this. It's going on the flap area. I cut my quilt fabric for this. It's going on 100% cotton fabric. I think it will give the piece a really nice look. I was trying to decide if I wanted it on the flap or if I wanted it on the back side of the envelope. I may do one with the design on the back. I'm going to work on how I'm going to do this piece tomorrow at the meeting. It will be fun to see what I come up with and what I'm happy with. I have a couple ideas for it.

Then we were off to the bowling alley again. I still didn't feel "right" bowling. So, my first game showed that! I bowled a 135, 191, 201. I beat Patrick two games and series. I actually got him by 1 pin in series! About time!! I used to kick his tail!

Now we're home and I'm done for the night. I'm looking forward to tomorrow and working on the style I want the flowers to be.

Happy Stitching!

Working Saturday

I was able to sleep in another hour today. Ruth took care of Cherrill this morning and I'll do her tomorrow.

We were up and off to the casino again this morning. We came home with $50 more than we went with, so that's a good thing. Then we had to be back by 12:45 for me to go to work. We made it with 2 minutes to spare. I let the cat out and went to work for my friend who was in need of help. She's a CPA and I love helping her out when she needs me. I'll probably be working next Saturday as well.

While I was working, Patrick went to the movies. He went to see the movie Kong. He brought home some chicken after the movie. I met him at home.

I'm hoping to get more stitches in on Nantucket Rose.

Happy Stitching!

Quilt Meeting Friday

Today I was up earlier than usual. Couldn't sleep much last night. Thought of a lot of things through the night.

"HayHay" is Kitty, or at least I'm trying to get her called that. We spent some time together before I headed out. I had a few things I wanted to do this morning. When I let her out, and got in the car, she was at the garage door looking at why it wasn't open. I went to open it for her but she wouldn't go in, so the door was shut while I was gone. She didn't like that. As soon as I got home, she came running.

I went to Safeway to get some cupcakes because my phone popped up that one of the members Birthday was today....she didn't show up. I then went to Staples to get some copies made for the Precious Moments cross stitch that I started years ago. The gal there wouldn't make copies for me because she wanted me to use the copy machines that where there. I told her I had gotten bigger copies before. She the took her card and I used it to make copies. I must have wasted just as many pages as I kept. UGH

So, now I'm all set. When I came home, I marked all the areas that I had already done. I didn't have as much done as I thought I did. That's okay, it should go fast once I get back to it. It is a big piece though.

Then I headed over to the folks. I arrived at their house at 9:20 am and there were already 4 people there! We used to start quilting at 10 am, but now everyone has to be "early" to moms. It's almost like a contest to see who can be there first. I hate it because I actually like to have time with my folks before they come. So, today wasn't one of those days.

I really didn't get much done. I did go through some old newspaper clippings of embroidery work. I brought 4 of them home. I'm going to design some embroidery pieces to do for the envelope bags. I want to do a couple of them for Sandy and Jeanette. I have till Seminar to get them done. I think I can do it. I just need to find the fabric down there that I want to do it on. I'll try to do that on Monday when we have our meeting. Then I can pick the colors I want for them. I will also have to figure out the stitches I will use. I'm actually excited about designing something like this.

Came home and baked another sourdough bread.

I also got back to working on Nantucket Rose. I'm hoping to have her done this weekend, but at this rate that may not happen. Patrick wants to go out and I was called back into work tomorrow. So, tomorrow afternoon Patrick will go to the movies and I'll go to work for Carol. Then Sunday is a day of bowling....ugh. This weekend is going to be really busy and not sure I want to be that busy.

So, while I sit her with HayHay on my lap, I'm going to get closer to getting Nantucket Rose done, and think about the envelope bags! Happy Quilting and Happy Stitching!!

Enjoying friends at Our TAS Meeting

This morning I didn't have to take care of Cherrill, so I decided to sleep in.....no such luck! Kitty was meowing outside...brought her in, went back to bed...and she drove me nuts!

When I was getting up, I had a text from Patrick, "Call me when you get up." So, I did. So - before I say what he told me, I need to explain about last night. We left the garage door open when we went bowling - for Kitty to go in when she was ready. Got home and she was not in the garage, but the food in the bowl was gone. So, I filled the bowl and called Kitty. No Kitty, so I shut the garage door. At bedtime I was just getting ready to go to bed when Kitty meowed at the door. I got up, went and took her out to the garage......noticed the food was eaten.....what the heck! I looked around, nothing. So, I shut Kitty in the garage.

Back to the phone call....Patrick said, "We have a PROBLEM." Not knowing what that was, I said, "Ok, what?" He then told me we went to let Kitty out of the garage and there was THREE cats sitting in the garage. I was then informed that we are not a "cat heaven" and they are not going to live in his garage. (I agree). So, one took off as quick as the door opened, one hid, and Kitty just sat there watching it all. So, when I heard that, I went out and made a LOT of noise to make sure the other cat wasn't in the garage, then shut the door.

All that excitement! Then I headed to the quilt meeting at the shop. Whalen Quilt Works has had us in the shop for the past 5 years. We had 7 of us showing up. I gave Barb my quilt top, backing and batting. I hope the King size sheet is big enough! I didn't measure. I also took my Aida fabric (greens) for her to pick what she needed.

I worked on the wings of the eagles I'm working on. This is two sets of wings that I was able to get done. I bought a white on white with polka dots. I'll use that on the head and tale. I'll probably do those tomorrow at mom's house when we have the next meeting. I'm not sure if that group is going to continue on with TAS or not. It will be interesting to find out. Our group may not continue under the TAS logo.

Got home and worked on my sourdough bread. I've got it ready for 2 small loaves and will take one tomorrow to bake at mom's home.

I also took Kitty out of the garage. She couldn't figure out why I didn't leave the door open because when she was looking at me, it was a look of "can I come out now?"

I got my quilt back from Whalen Quilt Works today. I had taken the sleeve with me because I wanted to give it to Rita, but she gave me my quilt back. I came home and worked on putting the sleeve on. I wanted to work on my cross stitch, but I need to get the sleeve on this. No time better to do it, then now.

I was surprised at what all was taken from my box I took to the quilters. They seems to like what I had. Sue took the quilt I was working on by hand. I had some of the fabric and stuff there, plus that scrap quilt had two rows done.

This is the quilt I finally gave up on and gave to Sue. She wanted it. I'm happy to see it going to a good home. There was a lot done on this, so she can get a lot more done to finish a quilt. I'm happy it's gone. So, I will remove the label for this quilt because it is no longer with me.

The stuff the group didn't take will be taken to mom's group and they can take what they want.

Happy Quilting!!

Cleaning My Quilt Room - AGAIN!

Today I was able to get a little more time in to sleep. I'm getting used to being able to sleep till 8 am and it is nice! Trouble is I still have to go to the neighbors, so I try to go after 30 mins of relaxing.

I went over to Cherrill's and it seems like I'm always there for an hour. By the time I got back I found Kitty in the garage waiting for me.

I went downstairs and decided it was time to go through my drawers and get rid of stuff I'm not going to use any more.

I didn't get a photo before I started, but here's where I was when I thought to take a picture.

A heck of a lot of stuff!! I have one BIG mess. I decided to start with the drawers!

I had a pile on top of the counter. This was most of what I already had. There was a lot of stuff that I no longer use or want. So, I pulled out a box and added all the stuff I didn't want in it. I've got the box ready to go to the quilt shop tomorrow for our meeting. That way if anyone wants them, they can have them. I also kept a couple things for selling.

I found all these blocks that I've had for years. Some are the ones that I did in classes. Some are what I picked up and others are from friend. Two are from quilts that ended up with an extra block. Now, I'm going to put this photo on Instagram for a giveaway. Maybe someone can put them into a quilt. I'm not interested in doing it, and I do love the blocks, but they are just sitting in a drawer. It's time for someone to take them. If your not on Instagram and are interested in them, send me a message and I will add you to the list.

More photos of some blocks.

Close ups. Some are from the 70's so 2 of the blocks are blends.

Out of all the drawers on this side, I did not mess with this one! This is my scrap drawer. I need to go through them and cut them down into squares. I've got 2 zip lock bags full of squares that I cut. Those I will put on eBay next week to sell. I don't want them any more. I need to cut this stuff down as well and get this drawer down!

One can tell how deep this box is by the photo.

I also found a cross stitch pattern that I bought years ago! It was one for my son! I don't know if he still wants this one, and I'm not sure if I will do it, but I might!

I also found a TON of embroidery things that grandmother and great grandmother started. This is a table cloth. She had half of it done. I don't have the floss she used, so I'm going to have to find whatever will come close to this. I'll try and finish it later.

A close up. Most of the linen that they worked on has got stains, but these are 60 years worth of stains or more. I also found some linen that is antique white. I washed that because I can use it. The best part is, it's a good yard worth. I won't have to pay $23 for half a yard.

This is the other side.

This is one cross stitch I did back in 1985 when Phillip was born. This was for him. It needs to be framed. I added this to my finished projects that need to be framed.  ONE OF THESE DAYS....

After doing all that,

My counter was looking good. I still have the other side to do, and that will be done on the next day I have all day to myself. This is a BIG clean up job and it took a good 3 hours to get that much done.

I even cleaned out the one side of my cabinet. That's a good thing! Bottom shelf wasn't so lucky, so that will be next. lol

I then came up and sat with Kitty.

Who was waiting on me to come sit down. Love this photo!

Got to sit and work on my cross stitch.

Then it was time to go bowling. I bowled a 223, 161, 195. It felt good today. Lost it in the 2nd game. Oh, well, we won all 4 games. This is a new quarter, so we may end up in the top if we can keep going.

Dad wanted a copy of the scores, so I'm adding this as well.

Best wishes and Happy Quilting and Happy Stitching!

Tree Lighting Event

Yesterday was one of those days, that when I got home, I went to bed.  It started out with going grocery shopping and stopping to visit wit...
