Not My Day!!

This morning I was up at 7:30 am, tried to go back to sleep - but oh, no, my phone starts peeping with texts. So, I was up and playing a few games. Of course Patrick didn't get up till 10 am. So, by the time he came out of the shower and all, it was 10:45. Took my shower at 11 am. UGH.

Then I had another text that Faye needed batting and backing. That was okay. So, I went downstairs to cut the batting and backing. Then I started working on the panel quilt top......after putting on one more border realized I needed to get lunch and I hadn't got my 30 min walk in....UGH again.

So, I called Sherry to see if she wanted to walk in half an hour. She did, which was awesome. I finished lunch then went to meet her for walking. We walked more than 30 mins. Then she asked if I could help her fix her genealogy on ancestry. I told her to show me. I showed her how to move or change a person to the right parents. It ended up being 3:00 pm by the time I got back home.

Once I was home, I went worked on QOV stuff and headed back downstairs for Faye to stop by. She came over and I was able to get the next side of the border done. Need to sew it onto the panel piece. After Faye left, I gave it up! I went upstairs.

Got supper going, thankfully Patrick cooked on the grill. So, I didn't have too much to do. I did work on the QOV certificates for Wednesday. I need to get them printed. Then I can be ready. I checked the quilt to see if a label was on it, and there was. Wrote the information on it. Then I put it into the washer.

We were off to bowling.....I bombed! My low game was 133, so I can at least say it was above 100. We all 4 games. It wasn't me helping, I can say that. I just couldn't get things going.

Here's where the "not my day" comes in......My opal in my ring fell out while at the bowling alley. I didn't know it till we were on our way home.....so I called the bowling alley to tell them. Chances are slim they will find it. So, there goes about $100 worth of a ring. At least that's about what I paid for it....so it might be more now. UGH UGH UGH. I wanted to wear it, and I bought it to wear it, but dang! why did it fall out?! Oh, well, that's life!

So when it comes down to it, today I was not Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!!

Let's Just Say It Was Saturday

Just saying it was Saturday - one of those Saturdays that nothing gets done when I was planning otherwise.

This morning we went shopping. We didn't spend as much as we normally do, because I bought a lot of veggies just a couple days ago. I was limited to what I could get and Patrick wasn't getting much for himself. So, it went pretty quick. And the best part was it didn't cost near as much.

Came home and Patrick went outside to mow the yard. He was surprised at how beautiful the day was. Plus the yard was dry! It's never dry this time of year.

I went walking for my 30 min walk. I stopped to see Toby, whom I haven't seen in over a year. He was looking good. I asked him if I could honor him with a quilt. He said sure and I got him to enter the information on the computer. I can't wait to get his name on our list. He is a Vietnam Vet, so he will be moved up to get his quilt. I have Coast Guard fabric and I seriously need to get that put into a quilt! I might be able to do 2 quilts. I will work on it. We have 4 Coast Guard's that need quilts. That will be next on my list - AFTER I finish my cross stitch!

Got home and realized I needed to get supper started. So, I made Ratatouille Stew. It was one of the recipes Phil gave me. I cut my eggplant and half of it was bad. Ended up making a smaller batch - which was fine with me.

It wasn't bad actually. I had some for supper with Alaska Cod and it worked out great. I have left over since I'm the only one that eats it. Oh, well.

We went to pick mom up and get started on her taxes. Patrick had trouble with her computer - Apple - but finally got that going. Then it was time to get to the play. We went to see "The Secret Garden" and for someone like me that hasn't read the book, it was confusing at first. One it came together it was good. It wasn't one of my favorite shows, but it was a good play. The little girl that played the part (lead) did a really good job.

So, let's just say it's Saturday and nothing ever goes our way!

Now it's close to midnight and it's time to call it a night. Hopefully tomorrow will be a day of Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!!

Another Day At A Quilt Groupthen

This morning I slept in for a little bit longer than I wanted to. I got moving with putting the black eyed peas in the crock pot. I had to get everything ready before I left for moms. I also had to get my breakfast, and I couldn't just do something easy like bread.

Once I got moving I was at moms by 9:30 am. Then I took Daisy out for a 30 min walk. We walked around Stillwaters. It was a good walk. While I was walking I ran into Georgie. She wanted to show me her blocks that she's doing for QOV. We walked back to moms and then we visited with the quilters. I got a couple patterns for her. Then mom had some fabric that was donated to us. It had all the color and stuff that Georgie was looking for, so I gave her the bag of donated fabric. She was thrilled. I was too because she's made 60 blocks so far. I'm thrilled to get any blocks! I'll give her next set of blocks to Susy instead of Sue next time.

I worked on my eagle wings.

I finished appliqueing the wing that needed to be done. Then I did the back basting to get them on to the piece. I need to check to see if I have another one marked for back basting as well. If I do, I can put the other one down as well.

This is all ready and needs to be trimmed to do the applique work. I called it good at the part.

Then I helped mom out with placing an order and getting some information that she needed.

Came home around 3:30 pm. Went through all my monopoly pieces from Safeway. I have a few more free things I will pick up tomorrow when we go. I will check to see how many times we can win the pieces on the board. I have 2 sets of $5 wins. Hey, it's a win!

After supper, I pulled out my cross stitching.

I had this much done a couple days ago. It is so close!! So I got working on it tonight.

I was able to get this much more done. I think if I get the chance, I can get this done. It goes really quick at times. I didn't have to take much out which helped tons! lol I really do like the way this is coming and can't wait to call it another finish.

Tomorrow we are going to the play with mom. It should be really good. It's a musical. I'm looking forward to it.

I have been behaving on my eating, os it's looking good. Which leaves me Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!!

Applique Meeting Day

This morning I got my 30 mins of walking in. It went pretty quick once I got going. I am thinking of doing my walking at moms tomorrow. There is a lot of an area to walk around for 30 mins.

I cut the batting and backing for Sue. Good think Judy called and told me how to do that. I would have given way too much backing and batting out for her quilt. Got that ready and put the blocks in the bag as well.

Then I was off to the bank for our water system. Then off to quilting at the shop. I worked on my eagle block. I was thinking I would do this one for my brother. I don't know if I will get it done in time. But I am going to try.

I like this color of the wings better for my brother. So, after I get these done, I will have two sets of wings. Since I have 2 brothers it might work. lol

While I was at the shop I noticed Rita had some new fabrics. I bought 2 yards of this for my panel. I would have got 3 yards but I didn't have enough money in my wallet - that's usually a good think. This will work perfectly for the last border.

Then I went shopping and picked up a ton of food (veggies and fruit). I've got enough to make a couple different things. When I got home I got busy making a butternut squash soup. It turned out pretty good but I didn't care for the garlic or onion. One of those was over powering. But at least it wasn't sweet, so I did good. I picked up some shrimp and crab to make a seafood salad for me. I had that with the squash soup. That really did fill me up!

Now I'm going to try and get back to my cross stitching! I seriously need to get moving on that.

At least today was a day to be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

A Good Day Of Stitching And Bowling

Today I was up earlier than I have been getting up lately. I was out the door and walked my 30 mins. I was surprised at how much walking I had to do to get to my 30 mins. I'll have to figure out another way around the houses down there.

Came home and played a few games for a little bit. Then I heated up downstairs and went to work on some QOV projects. I wanted to put the binding on the quilt I have that Hildi did. Then I realized the back really wasn't the fabric to use for binding. I called Hildi to see if she had more of the fabric for borders. She said she did but she was at the Applique Retreat in Seabeck. She will get it to me next week. She bought some fabric at the Elma store for QOV projects. She will bring them and let anyone that can use them have them.

So, that was a no go. Then I pulled out the panels and was trying to decide what to do with it.

I added the red border. I'm thinking of putting the 6" stars in the corner and again in the opposite corner. I'm not sure what the next border will be, but I'm working on it. I need to get some dark blue and will probably end up buying some dark blue tomorrow at the shop to get this done.

Then I pulled out the fabric I used on the on the quilt I did for a pillow case. I got 2 pillow cases done.

Now I have an extra for the next quilt. That stripped fabric isn't the most popular for getting quilts done. I really don't like it on the quilt I did. I just hope the veteran likes it when he/she gets it.

Then I came upstairs to work on my cross stitch. Trouble was Sophie wanted attention. So, we had a TLC moment that lasted about 1 1/2 hours. It would have been even more but the phone rang. She knows what phone I answer, so she's up before I even hear the phone.

Patrick came home early. Supper was early as well. We then dropped off Emily's gifts for her Birthday. Her Birthday was yesterday. We dropped off her plants and then went bowling.

I bowled pretty good tonight. My high game was 192, I think my other two games were 169, 184. Since my phone won't let me keep the scores any more, I'm not sure if I will go up in my average or not. I seriously need a new phone.

Patrick is returning the phones he bought. AT&T service is awful with the new phones. So, he's returning them and then we will go to AT&T to get new phones - what a pain in the butt! Now I have to wait for the refund before we get new phones, and MINE is dying! I can't use it for more than 4 hours. What a pain! Patrick is getting the phones. So, I'm having to wait.....UGH!

At least today was a good day of being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Another Trip To Olympia

Sometimes I think I live in Olympia!

This morning I didn't really feel like doing much. I did take my 30 mins of walking around the golf course today. I actually went for 32 mins because I didn't check my watch and depended on my fitbit app. Of course it stopped on me for a while. So, I walked down the road to see if it would start up again.....Nope. Gave up and found out I went 2 mins over...I'm okay with that.

Then I spent the morning playing games. I didn't really fell like doing much. I was a little self pitying myself.

I then "woke up" and pulled out my cross stitching.

I got the "T" done and then started working on the piece above the lettering. I needed to roll my piece because it was too far for my arm to reach. It was making my arm soar. I'm happy to say I was able to get some of it done. I'm planning on doing more here in a sec.

I went to Olympia to meet my nutritionist. She was awesome. She thinks I'm doing good and that I just need to add more veggies. I'm also going to have to think a day ahead and have my meals planned out. That is going to be a little hard, but I'm actually going to try it. I need to think of what I need to eat and then think about what Patrick wants to eat. I am going to end up doing two meals. One for Patrick and one for me. If I do it right I can figure out what he's having that I can have. It will take some doing, but I'm going to work on it. I know what I'm going to do for breakfast, and an idea for lunch. Now I need to think of supper....that's a little harder.

All in all I think I can manage. I did stop and see Sharon for some beads that she had. I checked on my back-order of beads. One is for her. It actually got mailed today. So, that is good news. She did find out that the pattern has all the ROWS backwards. So we have to start from the end and work toward the start of each row. What a pain!!

Came home and found some blocks in the mail for our QOV group! They are star blocks. I'm so thrilled! I may see if they will work for the panels I have downstairs. That might actually work on those.

Now I can get back to being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Finished The Ornament

This morning I was up and out the door walking for 30 mins. I have to get 30 mins of walking in every day to help my health. What fun!! Not really but I do like to walk. Just wish I had someone to walk with me.

Then I got the laundry going. I was working on the laundry and beading. I'm thrilled to say I finished the ornament!

Took photos of it in three different places.

And like this one the best.

This was off the refrigerator. lol

Once all that was done, I started working on the Wild Birds that I ordered the pattern off Etsy. Sharon tried to do it the last couple days. I finally got back to working on it. I agree with her, the pattern is off. I don't know why but it doesn't work right. I emailed the lady to see what could be off. I actually asked her if she made the piece and if she did then she could explain why it was off. I may end up doing it without the border. If the piece without the border works, then maybe we could add the border that works.

Hard to believe that took all afternoon just trying to figure that one out!

Been on the phone today with Faye about QOV, then Sharon about this piece, and Sue about QOV. So, it was a busy chatting day as well as a good beading day.

I will work on the cross stitching tomorrow. I want to get that finished as well...being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Day At Home - Till Bowling

This morning I was up and enjoying the morning. Then it was time to do some cleaning. I worked on the secretarial bookkeeping on the water system. Then I got moving on Patrick's kale chips. (He ate the whole thing!). While I was working on the kale chips, I vacuumed. Patrick was cleaning the bathrooms.

After lunch time I watched the show we recorded - "Seattle is Dying." So TRUE!! I've been up there for games, and it's embarrassing waking past the homeless. Seattle has opened the door for the homeless and it reminds me of the 3rd world countries I've been in. It's awful. The mayor is upset over the show. She thinks housing is the issue but in reality it's the drugs. We have made drug legal. I didn't vote that way, but Seattle and King County did. There was 2 other counties that voted the same, and that made it pass. If King County votes for what the rest of the state doesn't want - it becomes law. Okay - off my soup box!

Then I went to work on my beading. I want to finish my ornament before I work on the Wild Birds. I know Sharon wants me to work on it faster, but I've got other things I need to do before I get going on it.

I have the 4 tangles done. I have 2 more to do and it's finished. I asked Patrick if he liked 3 instead of 4 tassels. He said he though 3 was good. I actually liked the 4, but agree with him on the weight. I don't want too much weight on it with adding the 4th. The pattern has 4. I will take a photo of this when it's done. I'll have it on the bulb so it's easier to see what it looks like.

Then it was time to go bowling. Not my best night but not the worst. Patrick got his 600 - right on it. I bowled a 154, 151, 167. Not my best, and I'm sure my average will go down. Bailey did a 588, so she's going to change places with me on our averages. I was 1 ahead of her. Not now. We lost the first game - should have won it. The other team had us on handicap. They were 212 pins higher. We lost the first game by 12 pins.

Tomorrow I don't have any plans. I do need to start walking 30 mins in the morning. So, I'm going to start going walking after I get up in the morning. Once I get myself to doing that, it will help. Tomorrow is the day I start!

Things are getting better and I'm back to being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting.

Enjoyed Our Saturday

This morning I was up and enjoying the morning.  I worked on my beads this morning.  I got another row of black on the Wild Birds. Then it was time to pick mom and Irene up.

We helped mom rotate her mattress.  Then we were off to WF West HS for the Two Tone Tuners performance.  It was awesome.  My former boss was not part of the group he was in before.  But the group sounded really good with new members.  The Two Tone Tuners are getting smaller. I love listening to the quartets.  It was a 2 hour performance.

We came back home after dropping mom and Irene off. They had a good time.

I worked on my cross stitching while watching TV.

I did have to redo my tree by the rabbit. Just the bottom part. Finished the rabbit and decided to work on the words.  At least I was able to do that much. I really wanted to be beading but that's at the table. I will do beading tomorrow.

Even with all the things we did today, I was Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!!

Spent The Morning With Mom

I had to be at mom's by 9:30 am. So, I was out the door. While I was driving Sharon called. Said she was having trouble with the pattern I have that we are doing. It wasn't coming out right. I told her we'd stop by after we were done with moms appointment.

Arrived early at moms. We waited a little bit and then left for Lacey. We had the map telling us where to go. Trouble was, when we got to Tumwater, mom insisted it was by the Capital Hospital. So, she turned the map off and we went that way. We were by the hospital when mom called where we were supposed to be, and then I realized it was Lacey NOT Tumwater. So, I turned the map back on and it told us were to go. We were about 15 mins late.

We then headed over to Tumwater for lunch.

We went to Panera Breads. We both got the French Onion Soup. Man! Was it good! I brought home the bread and the other bread I had for Patrick. He didn't eat it tonight, which was okay, I may eat it tomorrow! lol

Then we went to Sharon's. She wanted to show me what the issue was with the Wild Birds piece that we are doing. She couldn't get it to work. She did it 4 times. I can't understand why it didn't work, so I told her I would go ahead and do it, so I can explain to the pattern maker what the issue is. But the pattern is a 2009 pattern, so I don't understand why it wouldn't work. I think people would have complained about it by now. So, I'm hoping I can do it, if not, I know why.

Sharon let me borrow one of her "holders" while I work on this piece. I showed it to Patrick and he said he can make me one.

So, when I got home, I worked on the black border. I have to do 8 rows of black. I have 4 rows done and working on #5. I'm hoping to get more done tomorrow but we will see.

We went to the movies tonight. Watched the Marvel's movie. It was good. The funny part about all this was the movie froze up twice. We all just sat and waited for it to start back up.

Came home and now we are watching the bowling on TV.  I'm going to go and work on my border and listen to the TV.

It's been a day of this and that, but I was Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Beading With A Friend

This morning Sandy came over to work on beading. She started her piece of the snowman. I was working on my cat ornament. I'm going to work on the snowman too, but wanted to finish up the cats.

/

I was able to finish the top part, now I'm working on the dangles.

I did do one of the dangles and after it was all over, I realized I forgot the gold round that goes on first. So, tomorrow I will be taking that tangle off and working on it again. I'll try and finish the dangles tomorrow.

I didn't get good news when it came to my blood tests. I'm now having to loose 7-15 lbs, and cut out my carbs, sweets and cut back on meat.  I'm really not happy about the test results but I'm going to do what I need to to get my test back to good.

I organized some of the beads I got at Shipwrecked. So, now it's a day that is almost over. I didn't get any cross stitching in, but I really do want to finish this.

So, today was beading which is Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

An Awesome Day With Sharon

This morning I was up and out the door by 8:30 am. I had to stop at Patrick's work to get his Costco card before heading up to Olympia.

I got to Sharon's and then we left. I had to stop at Kaiser to get my blood test done and I needed to get them to transfer my cardiology paperwork. Sharon came in with me. We didn't have to wait long. I think we were there only 15 mins total.

Then we were off to Shipwreck beads. WOW! I walked into the store and looked at Sharon - "Now what?!" I had no idea were to go for what we needed. Sharon did! So, we walked around getting what we needed. I'm just thrilled she knew what we needed.

We stopped at Dairy Queen for lunch. Then we headed to her house. We started working on putting the ornaments together.

She gave me this bulb to work my piece on. That is not the one I will have under it when it's done. This way the scratches don't get on the bulb that will be the real one. I was having fun! Hated to leave as early as I did.

Stopped at Costco to get gas on the way home. Then got home at 4:15 pm. My phone had dead by then.

After supper we went bowling. We lost 3 games. Dave on the other team bowled a 268 in the first game and 299 in the 3rd game. I bowled a 168, 180, 141. Not my best games. I need to work on getting rid of those splits! I had 3 splits in the 2nd game and 4 in the 3rd game. Yep, the splits in the 3rd game was harder to get. So, I didn't get but 1 of them.

It's been a day of Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!!

Spent Part Of The Day With Mom

This morning I was out the door early. I had to swing by Sandy's work to get the snowman pattern. She borrowed it to make copies. I don't think it's a good copy to begin with and may buy the pattern anyway.

Then I headed over to moms. She had quilters there. It's her Tuesday group. She called last night asking if I would come over and send time with her (and the quilters). So, I decided I would since I couldn't go tomorrow. I arrived and the quilters were there. I took my cross stitch but realized I didn't have my magnifying glass with me. Mom suggested I do some stars. So, I appliqued stars while I was at moms.

This is one mom did. I made 3 while I was there with the quilters. After they left, mom and I watched "Vera" on acorn TV. I got another 3 done. Then mom gave me 9 others she finished. I believe this stack is 7. I'm planning on using them with the panels I bought. I think they will work out great. I have an idea of what I want to do with the panels.

Came home by 3:30 pm. Had to stop at Franz to pick up some bread. The I sat down to get started on the "Three Wild Birds" in beading.

I did the first 3 rows. There are 6 rows to the bottom border.

I took a break and went for a walk with Cherry. We got 2 laps and then ended up chatting with the neighbor. I didn't get back home for an hour and a half. Patrick thought I got lost.

Tomorrow I'm heading up to Shipwrecked beads. I'm looking forward to it and I can't wait to get the ornament done. Talked to Sharon and she's already started on the birds. I wonder how far she's gotten.

Called it a night early today. I'll be getting up early again tomorrow. Mom also asked me to go to Olympia with her on Friday morning. I was actually looking forward to being home on Friday. I really wanted my two days - Thursday and Friday. Then Sandy asked about beading together in the morning. So, she's coming on Thursday morning and we'll be beading. I'm actually looking forward to it. We have a good time together.

It keeps me Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Enjoying Friends and Embroidery

Today was our embroidery meeting. I needed to go to the bank first. I wanted to go to the heart doctors to get my records for my new doctor. I decided since I was running late, I would do it after embroidery.

We are now meeting at Whalen Quilt Works for Brazilian embroidery. We had 7 of us show up. Three of us stayed till about 1 pm. Usually we leave at 12:30 pm. It might have even been 1:30 pm. I picked up our batting and backing for QOV since Rita had it there for me. We are now set to get quilts done.

We all worked on our pieces. I pulled out my rose and worked on it.

I took out the leaf awhile back. I worked on the leaves on the right. They were a reverse lazy daisy stitch. I liked how easy it was to do them. But they didn't curve with the pattern. I'm not too worried about that.

I then worked on the top leaf after putting the bullions on the three leaf areas. I didn't like the leaf she wanted me to do, so I did another one and like it a ton better. It looks a lot better. It does have the 3D affect this time.

I went over to the office to see about getting my records and was told if I ask for them it will cost me. If I have the doctors office ask for them, it doesn't cost me anything - go figure! So, on Wednesday when I go up for my blood test, I will have them request my records.

Came home to find Patrick already home and working outside. He said he needed to take some time to himself from work. Since his retirement seems to be postponed till they get someone to take his place, he's really not happy about that. So, if he takes time off now and then, it will keep him going.

He brought me my mail package!

My beads arrived!! I'm so happy. I went through and organized them already with the number on them. I have my project beads all together for the Three Wild Birds piece. I'm looking forward to starting it, but at the same time wonder if I can do that much and keep on track. It will be fun to see. Sharon ordered some beads for me because I forgot to put them on the list. I have 3 sets of beads on back order as well.

Now I'm gong to go and work on my cross stitch. I need to see if I can get that done by the weekend. I would love to have it finished after a little over a year. It keeps me Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Getting Another Finish Going

This morning I was kicked out to the couch at 5 am. I did good till then. I'm at least getting more sleep then I had been getting in awhile. It feels good to be on the mends.

I worked on my beading today. I wanted to get the cats all done so I can get them put into the ornament. It will give me a finish! We will go to Shipwrecked beads on Wednesday to get the beads that will finish this.

They are looking good.

Now it is time to finish these off.

I then decided to work on my cross stitching. I need to get this finished as well. I'm happy to see that I'm in the finishing stage and not the work in process.

As you can see, there is a small area that needs to be filled in.

So, I was able to get quiet a bit done. I'm happy with what I have done. The "hole" is getting smaller! I may have this finished this week.

Then it was time to go bowling. We won 2 games. We lost the 3rd game by 1 pin!! I bowled a 173, 165, 164. So, I'm okay with that since I haven't bowled in 2 weeks. I'm hoping I can get a little better. I ant to keep my average up there. Bailey beat me, so she will probably match my average or I will go down and she will go up. Not sure since my phone isn't working.

My phone is dying. Patrick ordered new phones for us. I can't wait to get my new phone. This phone has been quitting on me. I tried to enter my information on my bowling app and was told I couldn't do it without doing an update. Nope, my phone updating wasn't working. I'm done with it!

Tomorrow is Brazilian embroidery meeting. We are now having it at the quilt shop. We meet every 1st and 3rd Monday.

That puts me at Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!!

It's Back To Normal Today

This morning we went to Costco. We had a few things to pick up and enjoyed lunch there as well. It was pretty good. We got what we needed.

Came home and put everything away. I was talking to Sharon while working on getting stuff put away. She was asking about my beads for the bird tapestry. She doesn't have all the beads for it, and I found out I needed 7 more. I didn't get them all when I did the exchange. My beads should be in on Monday. I have a couple extra, so will give them to Sharon. I'm going over to her place on Wednesday and we will be going to Shipwrecked beads. I'm looking forward to that.

I pulled out the quilts for QOV to get photos taken. Then I had to add 2 labels to 2 of them.

This is the one I did to use up some of the fabrics that I had. No one wanted to work with these fabrics. The blue on top and bottom is blue with stars.

This is the one Georgie Halphine made the blocks while Sue Klapel put it all together. This is one of the 2 I needed to get the label on.

This one Sharon made for our group. This had the label on it. So, I just needed to put the information down on the back.

I washed one so far. Need to write the names on the back of two and then I can get them washed.

They are almost all set for the presentation on the 3rd of April. I need to let Ethel know we need her quilt done for that. I may end up taking the quilt back and finishing the binding if she can't get it done in time.

It feels good to be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Getting A Lot Better

Today I felt a lot better than I have in over 2 weeks. My throat is the only issue. I can't seem to talk now, but that is the only issue so far.

I woke to find Katt gone. I figured she was off taking photos. She's leaving in the morning. So, I took her quilt and put it on the bed downstairs so she could see it when she came back.

It looks good on the spare bed. She seems really happy with it. It was one she picked and I worked on it while at retreat a couple years ago. She didn't think she would get it but I fooled her.

We went to the movies today. "Wonderland" was okay. Not exciting but okay.

I worked on my beads this afternoon but then when I looked at what I did, I took it all out. It wasn't working right and I wasn't following my word chart. So, took it all out (that part I did today) and called it quits for today.

I worked on my cross stitching instead. That is another thing that need to be finished. So, I got to put a little over an hour into it.

I can finish this up if I work on it.

Maybe I can get to working on it this weekend.

I need to get back to bowling and doing my exercises again. It feels good to be feeling better. I did get some sleep last night and it felt really good.

I'm keeping up with being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Black And White Quilt Is Finished!!

The good news for today is that I was able to finish Katt's Black and White quilt. I haven't had the chance to take a photo of it, but I will do that tomorrow.

I worked on her quilt while she went to have lunch with her brother in Olympia. I was happy to see the two of them getting time together.

Once the quilt was finished it went into the wash. There was so much cat hair and dirt on it, that it needed to be washed.

Mom came about 3:30 pm and we went down to Red Lobster for supper. It was Katt's Birthday meal. We usually went out with dad because his Birthday was this month as well. We had a good meal. I brought back some food to eat tomorrow.

Katt baked a chocolate cake "Better than Sex cake" and we had that when we got back. Mom didn't stay long so put her cake in a container to take home. We played a game and had cake then. Patrick won the game. I jut wasn't in the mood - I think - because I didn't do that good. I lost by over 100 pins! It was good to have time with Katt and play a game.

Sophie finally got used to Katt and has been meowing at her for attention. It's comical.

Today was a good day of being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!!

Doing Better

Yesterday was my doctor appointment.  She told me to ride it out a couple more days.  I was on the mends which made me feel a little better. I dropped off the quilt top at Sharon's as well as dropping off her beads. I had my month covered with a mask bethe doctor said i could still be contagious.  What fun.

I worked on the binding of Katt`s quilt after I got home. Finished 3 sides.

Today I am feeling better. Still not comfortable about leaving the house. So while Katt went out to lunch with mom, I stayed home.

I spent the afternoon finishing the binding on the quilt.  Once that was done I decided I wanted more quilting in the border.

I am adding that extra "v" which I think looks better.  I would do more but Katt is ready for her quilt.

Mom gave her a quilt today as well. So she's going home with 2 quilts. Must be nice. I'll finish up the quilt and get back to finishing the beading. Then I can get the cross stitch done as well. It will feel awesome to finish things.

I'm back to Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!!

Added The Binding

Yesterday I took the time to cut around the Black and White Quilt. I seriously need to get this done. Katt leaves on Friday or Saturday. After I got all that done, that took a lot out of me.

I'm enjoying my clean room right now though. I was going to cut the sides of the quilt on the floor but since my counter was cleaned up as well - but there is room. Shame I can't seem to keep my room clean once I get it cleaned up. At least I know it will be this way for about a week.

Sue came by and picked up a lot of scraps. So, she's going to work on those for quilts of valor. I was thrilled to see them go. I'll probably just cut out some kits for later.

At least my room looks better then it has for a long time!

On the counter it went.

Of course, Harley had to get in there too.

I waited till this morning to do the binding. I sewed it on the quilt. I had the strips go all the way down the side without having to sew a seam. I also did the mitered corners. I liked how easy it went.

While I worked on stitching the binding, Sophie had to sit right in the spot that I was stitching. So, I didn't get as far as I wanted to but I'm not complaining because I have one side done.

Really didn't do anything else today.

I'm off to the doctors tomorrow. We'll see what's up with this nasty cold. I gave her a "warning" that my meeting tomorrow will also be because of my cold. She got back to me and said we may have to do a chest x-ray and I'm pretty sure that's going to happen. Don't know what we'll figure out, but at least tomorrow I will know what the heck is going on with me.

I did have a good day of Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!!

The Days Are Getting Better

I was going to write my blog yesterday but things were going on and it never did happen.

Today is a better day than yesterday. Yesterday was better than Friday. So it seem my chest cold is slowly getting better. I have 2 more days and then I will be seeing my NEW doctor. Not the way I wanted to meet my doctor but I have a doctor for times like this.

The last two nights I was able to get a decent night sleep. The night before I slept out on the couch with the foot rest up. I couldn't lay down. I got a good 4 hours sleep before waking up again. Then another 3 hours, so it actually helped me. I was getting tired of waking up every hour coughing and having a "fit." Last night I laid down and it worked out great. I woke a midnight to find Patrick gone. He went to the couch. Said he wanted me to sleep because I was sleeping good. Guess I was snoring. I wonder if what he heard was my chest and not snoring. Sophie slept at my feet all night.

My daughter came in from Clarkston. She's here for the week. I've missed her and really would love to give her a hug! I can't. She didn't know I was sick. She brought her cat Harley. She's downstairs and Sophie is up here. Poor Sophie doesn't know how to deal with all this so she hiding most of the time. Right now she's between our bedding. I don't know how she does that, but she's between the bedding.

When I felt like doing something, I was doing the beading. Really want to have the beading done so I can go to Shipwrecked beads. I'm excited to see who this ornament comes out. I want to do another one, but Sharon wants to get me on the tapestry designs. She wasn't really happy when I decided not to do the Snowman one. That one takes a ton of beads that I don't have and by the time I paid for all those it would be $300. So, I'm returning some of my beads and getting other beads. I went for another tapestry project that only takes 45 beads compared to 74 beads. This one is smaller and I think I would enjoy it more than the Snowman at this point. I'm okay with my choice.

When I cropped it, the color went out of the pieces. I am at least happy that I could do that much. I'm really wanting to do Katt's binding. She's here now and I don't even have her binding on the quilt. Ugh.

Friday morning I woke to this. Then by noon it was gone.

Patrick wanted cinnamon buns for breakfast this morning. So, with Katt's help, we made some really good cinnamon buns! They turned out awesome!

Am I getting better, I think so. My ears are popping and the coughing is going down but still there. I'm still walking around. So, all in all, I believe I'm getting better.

Right now I'm watching my Sophie trying to figure out what the heck is going on. She's smelling all over the house. Harley is downstairs, and only comes up when Katt takes her in the bathroom with her. (Harley loves to be around Katt when she gets ready).

As the days go.....Tuesday is 2 days away and I will be at the doctors......I'm good! And when I can be, I'm still Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

The Joys Of A Cold

Okay, I know I haven't be post much the last few days. Mostly because I seem to have been hit with the flu around the first of February. Had a small break and then last Saturday the coughing started up....and got worse. I took NiteQul (sp) for 2 nights. The coughing got even worse. I went on the couch one night so Patrick could sleep....and I slept during the day because the coughing was coming every hour or 2 hours. Then I decided to go to MucinexDM to see if that could help. NOW I wish I had done that first! I'm getting tired of being sick.

This from a person who gets sick and gets a good 2 years off of getting sick again. What the crap?! I didn't get through the flu to end up getting a cold 2 weeks later.

So, the joys of having a cold would be when I cough and Sophie runs for the hills. Chest colds are my usual colds. So, I bark the house down with my coughing. Sophie comes around when I get quiet. But wouldn't you know it, the minute she's comfortable I start coughing and she's gone.

I've been working on my beading - when I feel up to it. Most of the time it's napping or sleeping. Then waking up coughing some more. My chest is wheezing when I lay on my side. That keeps me up and irritated because I can't sleep. I keep moving around till I can get the wheezing to stop....till it wakes me up.

Yesterday was a day I would have gone to urgent care if it was close. Now that my daughter isn't here, I have to go to Olympia for medical. Which means urgent care is up in Olympia as well. I was feeling awful but wasn't feeling good enough to do the drive up there. Let alone Patrick not being able to take me. I thought I would go today but amazing as it is I was feeling a lot better by 1 am this morning.

Then today my order from Fire Mountain came and I went through the beads getting them divided up. Then I decided to send back some beads for an exchange. Going through all that took me all afternoon. It would have been nicer if someone was here to help me. Now I just need to get my beads marked and put in the box I decided to keep the beads in. I just need to work on keeping them in the number order.

I did start the 3rd cat today. I'm about half done. The weird part is that I was so wound up today that I even changed the bed. Then I was moving around the house like I was the energizer bunny - who can't breath half the time! Go figure.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. I'm hoping to be Happy Stitching!

Enjoyed a Day With Friends

I thought I could sleep in today....forgetting that our Brazilian embroidery group was coming over. I just don't know why I forgot since I had an email reminding everyone. Got a call that woke me up, then Sandy 2 called and asked about where I lived. Told her and said to come on in and I'll go get a quick shower - never happened, they all showed up right after that. So got dressed and enjoyed a couple hours with the group. I worked on my rose.

It's hard to get a good photo of this with the black background. The white shines up on it. I need a filter and I have one just too lazy to do that. I finished the rose and started on the stems. I like the way it's coming along. I took out the leaf that I did earlier. I want it to puff up more, so will work on getting a heavier thread for that.

If I was smart and remembered we were having the meeting today, I would have cancelled. Felt bad that they came while I have a cold. I just pray they don't come down with it.

After they left I had to call mom and Faye. Both had called me. Before I knew it, it was 3 pm and I still hadn't done anything. So, I got the dishes in the dishwasher and got that going. I put a load of laundry in the wash - which I need to put in the dryer before I go to bed.

Patrick brought home pizza because I called him and said I didn't have anything ready for supper. Plus I didn't get breakfast and I had a late lunch of fried chicken that I cooked in the air fryer last night.

After supper I pulled out the beads and wanted to get working on the next cat. So, I beaded for about an hour.

I got about 1/3 of it done. I'm just too beat right now to finish it.

So, I'm going to call it a day.....but it was at least a day of Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Got Behind Yesterday

I didn't post anything last night because I think I'm coming down with a cold. Yesterday I was taking the morning easy while Patrick went to the store. While he was gone I cleaned out the refrigerator and mopped the floor.

Around 12:30 pm I left for Ethel's and then moms. I dropped off the quilt with Ethel. She's doing the binding on that. That's one more quilt I don't have to worry about.

Then I went to moms and we headed over to Kathy Wagner's memorial service. We sat in the back. It was pretty good, but hard to hear because of the great grandchildren making a fuss. It was good seeing the photos. I met the son and daughter. I'm sorry I never made it over to see her before she went, but that's my regret. I picked up the chicken blocks to take to Sue on Wednesday. They were going to give them to Barb and then Barb was going to get them to Sue, but I figured since I will see her on Wednesday, why go through that many people to get the blocks to her. The service lasted about an hour. We sat in the back and it was a long time before we could get out. There were a lot of people at her funeral. I found out that mom had grandmothers service there. It's a small place, but really nice.

I dropped mom off and come home. I worked on Katt's quilt. I actually got the border done. I now need to put the binding on and then go back and quilt a couple more areas.  Once I finished that, I went to bed.

This morning I slept in longer than Patrick - how weird is that?!

I spend most of the day on the couch working on my beading. I must have taken out just as much as I put in.....that's a lot!

At least I was able to finish this one. I started the next one. I have 3 more to go. I hope to have them done by the time I have to go back up to Sharon's.

Patrick went bowling. I stayed home, not feeling up to it.

It's been two days of Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

A Day In Olympia With A Friend

Before I start out the day, I wanted to show what I did get done yesterday after I blogged. I had a good hour in on my cross stitching.

I'm getting to the last page. I am happy that I haven't mucked up much so far. This is coming along great.

Then today I was up and out the door. I went to Safeway and picked up a chocolate pie for Sharon and Bill. Then I was on the road heading up to Olympia. I'm happy to say I arrived at 10:30 am like I said I would. I took my laptop along with me.

While I was there we ordered some beads for our next project which is pretty big. It's spendy! I couldn't believe how much I am paying and the worst part is we are still missing 24 more colors. I think we need to check with Fire Mountain and see if they have substitutions. We placed the order. I'm hopping to get it early next week.

I had some pie for lunch and then I worked on my cat. Sharon has all 6 of the cats done. So the next time I go up we are going to Shipwrecked Beads. I headed home at 3 pm. Sharon called me later and said the rest of the beads we need she found and it will cost us another $75. Not really happy about that. I'm hoping we can find substitutions.

I worked on the 2nd cat when I got home.

I need to get them all done so we can work on them when I go up next week. I also need to get Katt's quilt done. So, I'm going to push and try to get them both done.

It was a good day of Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Getting Back To My Sewing Room

This morning, I decided to get back to working on my quilting stuff.  First I needed to clear off my table top to make room for cutting. I t...
