I Knew Better Than To Answer The Phone

This morning I was up at 7:30 am. it felt good to sleep for 11 hours! Patrick is still jet lagged and will probably hit the hay soon.

I got laundry going and then went to work on my video for my bead work. I was having trouble working on it. While I was working on it, Sharon called. She let me know she was doing okay but having trouble finding everything. One of her friends bought her the hoop she needed to do embroidery on her machine because she couldn't find hers. They put a lot of her stuff in storage but they haven't taken her to the storage area to find a few things she wanted. She's been beading lately. Said she went to a bead shop in Spokane but the prices are twice as much as what we can get here. Even Ship Wreck Beads is cheaper. I told her to just order them from the places we like. She talked for a good 45 mins before she had to go. I then got a call from Rita from the church. Linda sent me a message that the quilt was at the church and she couldn't work on it because the backing was too short. I realized I did that once before. Told her I was sorry and went to pick it up. I had till noon to get it. The office was closing early because the Secretary was out sick. I go the message at 11, so I had to hurry up and leave. Shouldn't of answered the phone.

I picked up the quilt top and will fix it tomorrow. Then I went to Safeway to get ground beef. I remembered we forgot the eggs yesterday so picked those up and called Patrick. I told him I was getting the eggs and wanted to pick up the ground beef but a pound and a half was $11. He said he would stop at Costco on Thursday if I could wait. I told him I wasn't going to pay $11, so yes I can wait. Left Safeway with eggs. Then went to get the car washed. After that was done, I went to Dutch Brothers for a good drink. I need to go 3 times so I can get more point. lol After that, headed to the museum to pick up the table cloth for the fair. Last stop was gas.

Came home and ate lunch. My left over chicken from Safeway. I am now done with chicken! Dennis cooked chicken while we were there and it wasn't done. I didn't eat much. But after doing that the last 3 times, I'm done. I thought I could eat fried chicken from the store. I would have had both thighs for lunch yesterday but just couldn't do it. I ate the last one today and decided chicken is off my list for awhile.

Sophie gave me a lot of "shit" today. She didn't like it that I kept her out of the office while I videoed my breading stuff. I was behind on doing a video, so thought I would get it done.

Debbie came over before she had to go to drop off the quilts for the fair. She ran into mom. Mom said our quilts wouldn't be behind our table so Debbie asked Kathleen and found out Kathleen already knew they were to go behind our table. Mom's good at messing people up. She also told me that she had to take out the binding on the quilt for me. Then when she "squared it up" found out that she is 1" off on one corner. I didn't say much to that. She said she didn't mean to get it off that much. When she resewed the binding on it was 1" off on one corner. At this age, I don't care. She didn't hand quilt it like she did everyone else's quilts. What can I say. I'm used to some of her "stuff." She needs to find someone to work her Saturday shift at the fair since she is going to the family reunion with my brother and his family. I told her to tell them to wait till she is done but she got mad and said she will get someone else to work it. Of course. Again, shouldn't have answered the phone.

Debbie and I chatted a while when she came. I have to work on the quilt top I had before I left. I need to applique stars.

Instead, I decided to work on my beading.

I finished the first of the 3rd set. Then started the next one. Once these are done, I will have another set of Angels ready for my ornaments. I may go and finish this tonight before heading to bed. Why not. I slept for 11 hours last night!

I am telling myself tomorrow is another day and I will NOT answer the phone! I will get laundry going and work on what I WANT TO WORK ON. Thursday is judging. In otherwards I want to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Flosstube And Beading

Today I enjoyed being able to do as I pleased while Patrick went golfing. I did get laundry going and cleaned up the kitchen with emptying the dishwasher.

Then I sat and worked on my Flosstube video. I tried to do one on a new program, but it didn't work. The sound and the "mouth" where not working together. I hate it when there is a delay. So, instead I re-did the video and posted it on Youtube. I couldn't get it to load on my computer, so I loaded it from my phone. That took a good 30 mins. I couldn't believe it since I usually load things a lot faster. It had been almost a year since I posted anything. I will try to do better.

After all that, I played games. I like my games and just wanted to relax. I have quilters coming over tomorrow and I want to try and relax instead of thinking about tomorrow. We have a presentation on Thursday. Oh, well.

Then I decided to fix the panel for the ornament. Yep, beading. I wanted to get the ornament to be right. So, I unzipped the area that needed to be worked. Rows 18-24. To my surprise it worked out great.

The one on the left is the one that has the mistakes. The one on the right is the right design. It's Queen Anne's Lace. I fixed the problem and got to work on the next panel. I'm at row 15 with that one. I like how much better it looks. If you look under the first white area, you will see where I messed up. The white dot on the right side of the mistaken one is now removed. I like being able to fix beading by unzipping a row and zipping it back together. It's a lot of fun. So, I don't worry to much when I have to do it. It's when I have 1 bead out of place that needs to be fixed and that is a major pain in the butt.

My day was looking like very little was going to be done. That doesn't help me be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Getting Ready For New Floors Tomorrow

This morning I woke with a headache - that pretty much lasted all day. First things first. I pulled all my clothes out of my dresser and boxed them up. I took my jewelry off the top shelf of my cabinet (dresser). Then I got to work on my laundry sense all my clothes are downstairs. I'm almost done with laundry.

Patrick went golfing again today. They decided to go a little later. I wasn't in the best of moods, which meant I watched TV (Perry Mason - the older versions). I decided to get a FlossTube done today.  I showed the cross stitch kits that I was given. I did enjoy doing this one.

After awhile I decided to get moving on my beading. I really need to get this done! Trouble is, when one is not feeling so good, one doesn't get very far. I'm going to have to work on this tomorrow while they work on my floors. I want to get moving on this! Fingers crossed.

I have to go to moms on Thursday - if all goes well with the floors.

I got an email today that said quilt tops are done and she is going to mail a few to me tomorrow. I'm thrilled. She also said that she has about 15 total with all those blocks I sent her. I'm really looking forward to seeing them. Those quilt tops will help get the quilts done! I can't wait. I will take a couple over to the church to see if they can do them. Connie is loaded right now. I really do need someone that can get the quilts quilted. At least at this rate, we can have quilts done faster.

Even with trying to rest and not doing much, I was able to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

I Don't Do Black Fridays LOL

This morning Patrick was up and ready to go. He was golfing today. After he left, I got busy with laundry and then decided to do a video on my beading. As it went, I was looking around the house for things that will work while I video myself working on my beading. It was some set up!

At first I tried it with my camera, but I couldn't get it to zoom in where I wanted it. So, I put my phone between the 2 rulers. It worked out good. I realized after that I needed to turn the phone the other way to get a better angle. So, when I uploaded it, I had it go to full frame. It cut some work out, but overall it worked. I then posted it on YouTube. I may do more later. I was thinking it would be a good idea to do the stars but that will take some doing.

This is what I was working on in the video. I started the 2nd Santa in the Trio. I didn't get much else done on it though.

Then I decided to get back to writing my word chart. I finished the 2nd Santa and started the word chart on the third. I have about a 3rd of it done. Patrick got home and I just sat and enjoyed doing nothing. Sophie wanted TLC and I was game.

We waited the championship of the Great British Baking Show, and I was shocked to find the day has come and gone. I did talk to Sharon in Olympia and she was telling me how she went to Shipwrecked Beads. I told her I wasn't that crazy to go out in the rain, let alone the crowds. I can't do crowds. I didn't even go to moms for quilting. It was just a day for me to relax and enjoy the day. It is surprising how long it takes to do a video for YouTube. But I'm getting better at it, I think. lol

I was able to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

From One Thing To Another

This morning was Patrick's golf day. Man was it cold this morning! He said he did pretty good after he warmed up. lol

While he was gone, I made a couple phone calls. Had to call Judy H. who is a QOV member who works out of Olympia. She knew Bev, so had to let her know. She did find out just before I called. Then Debbie called telling me how her day started out - and got worse as the day went on.

I then sat down and did my Flosstube on YouTube. I put all my recent projects on the tube. I also added my thoughts for my next cross stitch project.

I went downstairs after that, and worked on the binding of my quilt.

I put the yellow binding on. Now I just need to stitch it down and get it done. That would really make my day to get a UFO done! Especially a quilt! I may just keep giving Kathleen Ament my quilts to get done. I love the work she does. Now I just need to get them done and out of my closet. Time to use them!

Once that was done, I had a phone call from my neighbor. Soooo, I pulled all my embroidery thread - for my machine - out and put it all in a bag to give to Carmen on Friday. She has a neighbor who loves to machine embroidery, and since my sewing machine isn't easy to do embroidery on any more, I decided to give it away. I found my bobbins for the sewing machine that is going to the HS girl, and will give that to Debbie next time I see her. I cleaned out a lot down there! Felt good to clean out some stuff.

Came back up and started to work on my beading again.

This side looks good, but I have mistakes on the other side. Since this is my first one, I will leave them. Patrick said he didn't see the mistake and that was nice of him! But I know they are there.

One can tell on this side. Funny how I got one side wrong and the other side looks good. I'll just tell Katt not to put the bad side out. OR I may just keep this one and work on getting better ones done for her. I will put the last piece on either tonight or tomorrow.

I have to get up early again and go up to Olympia with mom. She has a doctors appointment for Daisy. She's got the eye appointment where we will be sitting in the car the whole time. So, I'm taking the quilt and we will bind it while in the car. Mom stitches in the same direction that I do, even though she is right handed. That will really make me Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Not A Good Day

I was lucky to get about 4 hours sleep last night. My neck and shoulder are in major pain. I had Patrick put a hot and cold pack on it, but it's really not helping. I took a "tension" pill that isn't working either. So, I spent the day watching some shows that I had taped. Patrick went golfing.

I haven't felt like doing anything all day. My shoulder is killing me. Doesn't like my moving around. AND it's my left side, so being left handed doesn't help.

I did do my FlossTube today. I've added another one. It was 3 weeks since the last one, and I'm hoping to get back on track again.

As much as I would love to say I worked on my crafts, I didn't. I worked on the computer. It was genealogy time. I was working on both Patrick's and mine. I was able to get more members added. I also filled in the places and dates. I have a long way to go. I need to get moving again.

I guess you can say, I was not Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Enjoying A Day With A Good Friend

This morning I was up and getting ready for Sandy to come over. We had planned to do out beading again. She arrived and I gave her a lot of stuff I had for her, plus some chocolates from Escanaba.

We had a good chat and laughed a lot. It was so good to have her here.

We are making the Folded Twisted Diamond earring. Thank that is what it's called. We are doing the one that comes together at the top. This one goes in a shape of a "V" instead of a "Z" which I think will work better. We stopped at this point and will continue when she gets back.

After she left, I went back to working on my Snowman.

I was able to add another 2 rows. I figured out that the "antler" that I thought was an antler, is actually the birds tail. So, I will have to do a few more rows to get to the antlers. I would have loved to get more rows in, but I had too much fun with Sandy.

I took a break after Sandy left and did another FlossTube video.

While the neighbors were mowing the yard, I went out to check out the flowers that Patrick was talking about.

This is a start of a Holly Hawk. I took the photo from the deck.

I really liked these. Wish I was better at knowing what the name of flowers were. I did pick some of the dead stuff off. I need to do more.

Tomorrow morning is taking Sophie to the vets. It's going to be interesting!

Bet she'll give me some attitude tomorrow. lol I noticed most of my photos of her has attitude. We have had her 2 years now. It's awesome. She's getting more used to us as the time goes. She's getting closer to Patrick as well. Should be interesting what the next year will bring.

Today was an awesome day to enjoy with a very dear friend. I've enjoyed our times together. We will start up with our Brazilian embroidery meeting in Aug. Should be fun! Can't wait to see everyone!

At least today I was Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Okay, Think I'm Done With Cleaning!

This morning I got a call from Cherry that she didn't need me. So, I heated up the downstairs and went down to clean.....

This is were I started today. I cleaned out the cabinets on the other side of this counter. I really didn't want to but I did. I know I needed to and I was hoping among hope that there wasn't another project in there I completely forgot about. The good news is that there wasn't, but there was my basket blocks, and a quilt pattern with all the fabrics that I want to use for it. PLUS there was the Christmas quilt that mom made. The one that I bought all the fabric and patterns as a BOM. It's all there in one box as well. So, they both went back in the cabinet. I did go through some books and added them to the box.

This is where the box was before I started.

And this is what I added. The box is HUGE and when I told Patrick it was ready to go, he went down and came back up to say it was too big and heavy to carry. So, we'll get a couple smaller boxes and fill those up. Amazing at how much I'm getting rid of. But then again, it feels good to have less. I'm one of those people that less is more. I don't want to keep stuff I won't use. Plus if we move, I'll at least have a head start. AND I'm now ready to call it quits when it comes to cleaning more down there. I found things to finish, and will do that too.

By the time I was done, my room looked better. It felt better as well. I'm happy with what I've done. Who knows, I'll probably add more later. I still have the big drawer that has scraps. I need to cut them up into squares. I may do that yet!

I came back up and worked on the computer to get a few more names added to the family tree. I worked on my genealogy but this time worked on Patrick's side of the family.

Then I did my flosstube video. I posted it. I really didn't have the time to review my video and will probably regret it. But I haven't put one out there for 2 months.

After supper, Patrick and I worked on the sugar cookies. Patrick helped with the decorations as well as cutting them. We got them done. Patrick got all the cookies together and put them in a dish for his pot luck tomorrow.

Then I had to write my Christmas letter for everyone. We haven't done that in a couple years, so I'm sending it to Patrick to review tomorrow at work. He'll change it all up and I'm okay with that.

I'm hoping to get a few stitches in on quilting or cross stitch. May be quilting tonight since I did the cross stitch Saturday.....who knows.....we'll see how it goes.

Life is good, Life is life. I'm still dreaming of being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Another Hot Day In WA

Today I was up....at midnight....at 1 am....at  3 am....and again at 5 am. Anyway, you get the picture. NOT a night for sleep - at least not for me.

No clue what had me up and down all night. Tried sleeping on the couch...NOPE...tried sleeping in my chair...NOPE. Finally made it back to bed at 3 am. At first I thought it was 5 am, but then realized I left the bed around midnight. Oh, well.

I was up at 7:30 am enjoying my breakfast. Then went over to Cherrill's to help her out. Almost stayed for tea, but had to get back because of my game. Yep! Was playing games in the morning.

Then I decided it was past due time to do my Flosstube. So, I did the video and posted it today. Flosstube 12 made.

I did shut the house down today. Closed a few windows and had the fan going. It stayed cooler in the house. It did get up in the 80's today. Yesterday it reached closer to 100. But I'm okay with 80's. Still too hot for me. Of course we have a haze out there because of all the fires. To many fires around this area lately. Good thing it rained so much in the beginning of the year.

I worked on laundry. Also got a visit from our neighbor who is selling his place. I have to send an invoice to the Title company, so they know what he paid for water. Easy enough. They also wanted to know who they needed to contact when places around here sell. So, I'm working on a letter of information for them. That way they can contact us for the water, since they don't have contact information on it.

I have been thinking I'm going to stop working on my HAED project and restart it. I'm not liking it were it is right now. I'm going to buy a bigger piece of fabric and work on it later. I put it away and I took it out of the frame I was using. I also took the Ambrosia piece and put it in there. I moved the pieces around. I even used the bars from one and the sidebars from the other. It worked out pretty good that way.

I went looking for my pattern on the family history (Precious Moments) piece. Been looking for it for a long time. Finally figured out where I put it. I pulled it out and will work on it when I get tired of this piece.

I'm getting more done! I worked my way to the foot. Worked on that piece for quiet a while. The foot takes longer, because I'm doing 1x1 instead of 2x2. I like the look of it. It's smoother and is looking natural.

I will admit it is a little harder to get 1x1 with such small fabric. Think I need to change it up and go with something a little bigger. Not sure. Will see what I can get from my eye doctor so I can see them a little better. I may see if I can get a magnifier or reading glasses that will work .

As hot as it is, life is still good. My we all pray for the Texans who are being displaced. I pray we help faster than we did before. May those of you in that area be bless and looked after. If one of my readers has lost their craft supplies, let me know and I'll see what I can do to help you out!

Life is good, hard at times, but each day something new comes along. Keep your spirits up and know I'm thinking of you! Best wishes, and keep Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

What Can I Say?!

I was sitting here trying to figure out a title. Most times I forget to get the title into the blog. So, the first thing I thought about was, "What can I say, for a title?" Hence the title. Yep, I'm crazy today.

I helped my neighbor, then I came home and did another video. I felt the last one I did on Monday was a piece of CRAP. So, I wanted to do a better one to make up for that crap. I didn't delete it, but I should have. I'll do that later on. I added a few things to this video.

Then I sat down and worked on my Maribella.

I got some done. Not as much as I wanted to. The frog arrived, so it took a little more then I wanted to take. I'm getting there. I'm trying to put a couple hours on one and then put another couple hours on the HAED piece.

I'm getting more done. I'm having a little problems with the bottom part. I do like the way it's coming along. I was having fun working on this one. Not sure how long this will keep my interest. I still have the Patriot Angel, that I got frustrated with. AND I have the hardanger to work on as well.

I'm really not doing much around here. I'm working on my cross stitch and what ever else comes up. It's not a lot. I keep myself busy. If Kitty was here, I'd be entertaining her or she'd entertain me. But that's life. She's gone, and I need to deal with it.

Tomorrow is our potluck at our quilt meeting. I'll take my owl and work on that. Trouble is, I need to meet my folks at the hospital around 1 pm because dad's got his pre-op for knee replacement. Not too thrilled with it, but I'll go. My folks want me to go. Actually mom wants me to go.

So, life is good, can't complain - so will stay Happy Quilting//Happy Stitching.

Working On Applique Again....

Today was a good day. I didn't sleep very well last night, but I did get up after Patrick left. I went to Cherrill's and was able to meet her daughter. It was a good visit and will see her tomorrow.

I got up and sent an email to my quilt group asking the to pass the flyer around for my cat. I got on "mylostpet.com" and was able to fill out the information there. They have a better flyer, so sent the better flyer to the police departments and a couple of the vets. They faxed a flyer to a couple vets. They really didn't get all the vets in the area, so I'm glad I could get flyers out to the others last week. I'll print a couple more and take them around tomorrow or Wednesday.

I did my video on flosstube. It was a pain! The mouth and the words don't go together. Reminds me of the Japanese overlays. Oh, well.

Then I pulled out my applique of the owl. I needed to get moving o it because mom has the bear done and is working on the raccoons.

I had it all on the table. Was a lot easier to work with. Did the grey wing.

I have the bottom of the wing done, now just need to work on the side wing and the body.

Now I'm going to work on my HAED piece. I wanted to start a new cross stitch, but don't want to do it tonight. I'll work on it tomorrow.

So, the good news is that I'm still appliqueing. Mom wants to put the quilt in my frame and come over to quilt on the quilt when we are done. I don't know if I want that or not. It will be interesting what we decide.

Stay Happy Quilting and/or Happy Stitching!

A Very Quiet Wednesday

Today I was up early. I went to help Cherrill and stayed to help her a little more with ancestry. We both do genealogy and I was showing her a few things on the website. She's finding more of her family now that I got her hooked up with ancestry.

I worked on laundry today. I still have a few more loads to do since I was lazy the last few days. I played on my tablet for awhile. Really didn't feel like doing much. I keep hoping Kitty will show up. I haven't quiet given up, and I know I should. I've been praying she will come back. I just need to call it as it is, she's gone.

This afternoon I worked on my cross stitch.

I finished up the 'J' for Joy. I need to go back to the lettering and put a white pearl cotton "x" in some spots. I also need to put the centers in the flowers of the hat on the left. I just realized they were missing. I will work on this some more tonight.

It was quiet and I pretty much stayed around the house. I didn't do much. I wish I could say I got a ton of stuff done, but I didn't. I am excited though! My scroll frames are on their way! I'll get those in a couple weeks, I'm sure. It's left Estonia. Can't wait to see them. I've got plans for them already! One of them will have the Hardanger piece so I can finish that one up or at least get caught up.

One of them will have the HAED piece. And a third will have a new piece - my Maribela (sp) piece. I really do want to start that. I did send a message asking about my order I placed last month for hand dyed fabrics. I can't wait to see what that looks like.

Yesterday I didn't do anything exciting. I was away from the house most of the day with Art at the casino. I did come home with about $20 more then I went with, so can't complain.

Then we had bowling - it was "fun night." It was a tournament mostly.  The first game was 9-pin no tap, the second was 8-pin no tap, and the third was 7-pin no tap. I didn't do good for the first game, so I didn't rank among the gals. Denise who is our parent, bowled good and got 5th place. (6 places paid)

Patrick and I bowled a 300 game on the last one. I bowled a 277 on the second game. Denise bowled a 300 in the second game and had a 260 the first game. Patrick actually got 5th place among the men. It was so funny!! He didn't get to 800 series, nor did any of the men. All he 6 winners on the womens side bowled 800 series. It was funny!

I did get some sad news today.

IG shared the passing of Beverly Evanger. Those of us that are on flosstube all know her. She was the positive person in all our videos. Everyone of us would get a message from her after every post. She would encourage all of us to keep posting videos. I enjoyed chatting with her! She was a delight and if one went to all he flosstube videos they would find there was never a negative message from her. They were all positive and light hearted. RIP - Beverly! You will be missed. And I've only known you a very short time.

Okay, I'm off to being Happy Stitching - Happy Quilting!

Day 1 At BDEIG Seminar

This morning I was saying goodbye to Patrick and waiting for Sandy and Jeannette to arrive. They had a couple things they needed to do before they came to get me, which was find. They arrived sometime after 10 am. We then headed down to Portland.

We are at Concordia University in Portland. We around around noon. We were given our keys to our rooms. I found out they are on the first level and I'm on the 2nd level. I'm actually rooming with Pat and her other group. There are 4 of us in an "apartment" that has individual rooms. So, I can close the door if I want. Sandy and Jeannette are in the same room. It's cheaper if one rooms with someone, then it is to room alone. I was asked to join the gals up here, but found out I was actually sharing a bathroom with Sandy and Jeannette if I would have said no. I kinda wish I did. So, I'm up here with people I don't know very well and they seem to have meetings in the "kitchen" area. So, I came back to my room while they decided on what they were going to do. Plus they don't stay up very late, and if I had been with Sandy and JT then I could have enjoyed some time chatting with them. Oh, well, I'm going to enjoy my time anyway! lol

They didn't have "registration" till 2 pm. So, we didn't get bags till then. It was funny though, because we arrived last year at 1:30 or so and they gave out most of the bags, so we didn't get much of a choice then.

This was the bag we received this year! I am amazed at how nice they are. It has the BDEIG on it.

We received a ton of goodies in the bag as well. I'll probably take them out to look out tomorrow while I have time to myself in the morning. I'm not sure what I'll do tomorrow morning, but Sandy has the afternoon off, so we'll do something.

I did sign up for another class. I decided to sign up for another rose pattern class and it's by Debbie Kelley. So, I'm looking forward to that. She's supposed to be a really good teacher. I'm excited about having both rose patterns. I'm not sure if we will be doing the work on the actually piece or if we will be doing doodling. Either way, I'm going to work on them while I'm here.

We went to lunch here, and had to pay for it, because it wasn't part of our "time" at Seminar. I had a hamburger at the dinning hall. It was pretty good actually.

We had supper upstairs from where we had our meals last year. I'm really impressed with this years events so far. It's the 25 anniversary of the founding of BDEIG. So, they are doing it up big.

After supper I was "railroaded" into helping out upstairs. I enjoyed it. I was helping collect the embroidery pieces for show and tell. Many of them are going to be voted on. It's awesome to see. They also have a show and tell of the last 25 year, so there is a lot to see. I'm taking photos for the group. Got a lot of them so far today. I'm not going to load them for awhile. If I need photos for here, I'll take them from my phone.

This is the floss I ordered and then I had to buy 10 more! This is $100 worth of floss!! I have money for later, but I wanted to take home $100. Then I went and signed up for the class and that's costing me around $60. So, I may not be bring $100 home. lol That's okay, I'm loading up on the colors I don't have. PLUS I just HAD to have some variegated threads!! We'll see how it goes!

When I finally came back to my room, I started working on my hardanger. This is the one that I got rid of the first one I did and bought the hardanger fabric as well as new threads. I really like this one and it's easier to see what I need to do. Go figure! I should have done that in the first place! LIVE AND LEARN.

So, it's late, but I don't have any classes tomorrow. I'll probably get my floss organized for my class, and call it good. I don't think I need them till Wednesday, so I have plenty of time.

I probably won't do breakfast tomorrow. Really not in the mood for eggs (probably powdered) or pancakes. So, I'm going to call it good and eat the Aussie bites I brought. Better for me anyway.

Now I just need to figure out how I'm going to sleep in this sleeping bag. There is a blanket here, but I brought a quilt. Phil's sleeping bag is one of those hot ones that sleeps one person tightly! I'm not skinny like he is. lol So, I will open it up and cover myself in it with the quilt over it. That should keep me warm. I didn't get another pillow but I brought mine. So, I'm good!

Okay, need to get back to finishing the star of the hardanger so I can start getting caught up with the HAL group on FlossTube.

Have a great day...Happy Stitching....Happy Quilting!

Getting Stuff Done....WooHoo!

This morning I didn't have to go anywhere. Thank goodness. I really didn't want to. It's the one day I have to myself.

Kitty was very needy today, and I don't blame her. I hadn't had TLC time with her in a while. I did clean up a bit and get the vacuum going. It was nice to be able to clean up the house a little.

I posted another Flosstube video today.

Then when I finally got off my rear, I worked on the QOV eagles.

I worked on the feathers, body, and head.

The beak is in a higher spot then I thought it would be. I wanted it a little lower but that's okay. I then put the eyes on a little bit ago, and it's now done. I have the other block that needs the beak and eye. When I have them done, I'll let Judy know and see if she wants them before our next meeting.

THEN I went downstairs and worked on 2 more envelope bags. One is huge! I thought I was making a smaller size for the scroll frames, but the good news was it was a perfect size for the new scroll frame I bought. At least for the smaller of the three. I'm happy. I'll just use the one I'm using for Katt's stocking when we go on the cruise. I also made a small one that I can use while we are on the cruise. It will go on the plane with me.

It rained all day! Not the most fun I've had but that's okay. It's still fun to be Happy Quilting and Happy Stitching!

A Busy Thursday With Applique And Stitching

Started out pretty early. I called Cherrill to see if she needed me today. She said not today. I then enjoyed the usual TLC time with Kitty. She seems to count on it. She wanted out before I was to leave, so that worked out good.

I had to go to the doctors to get a blood test done. I hadn't eaten and was starving when I was done at 10 am. I went to DQ but they weren't open till 10:30 am. So, I ate some crackers that were in the car.

Arrived at our meeting at 10:10 am. I was the first one there. We slowly got members coming in. I worked on my eagle wing.

I had all but the tip of the wing done. It went really fast.

Went to DQ for a $5 lunch. Brought it home and then worked on my secretary duties with our water system.

Checked youtube to see how my video did and saw "Stitching with a Smile" started her group stitch a long. So, I started my Hardanger work. I got the star done. Not sure how well I did but, I finished it and am ready to start the next step. I took the piece out about 3 x's because I messed up. I just hope it's okay now.

This was the first part that was taken out.

So got it done finally.

Then I worked on my stocking. I'm getting a few stitches in when I can. The strips are not the piece - that's the light reflecting in my phone lens. I worked on the black part at the top.

So, it's been a busy day, and was called into work for tomorrow and this weekend. So, I'll see if I can get a few more stitches in. Hard to say. I do love working on my cross stitch!

Happy Quilting- Happy Stitching!

Enjoying Cross Stitching

This morning I was up early. Cherrill called and didn't need me today. Kitty and I enjoyed our TLC time. She was in and out most of the day.

I worked on my Beautiful Sea sal. I was thrilled to be caught up.

I have one more part to add, then it will be done. I believe it comes out next Friday, but I will double check on Friday.

I'm getting pretty good at using the glossy floss. Good thing I had some in the house already or I'd have to buy more.

I redid my flosstube video. I looked at it today and found my sound to my talking was off. Couldn't fix it so redid the video. I also have the pattern as a giveaway on my video. So, if you want it, leave a comment on my flosstube.

I'm hoping my framed work is done this week. I'm going to take 2 more and see if I get another good deal. I can't wait to start another one but its got to wait till I finish one. My sal will be done, then I'll start another one. Woo hoo!

Tomorrow is quilting with the group. I'm going to work on my eagles tomorrow. Hopefully I get the wings of the second one done. Need to work on the body!

Happy Stitching and Happy Quilting!

Started the Day with A Headache

This morning I woke at 4 am with a Headache. Took my migraine pill, and went back to bed......still didn't go away. UGH

Was up and enjoying Kitty for a little while before heading to Micheal's to pick up some DMC floss for Katt's Christmas Stocking that will be next to work on. I need to get a light blue for the background. I'll probably get a hand dyed fabric for it.

I now need to roll the floss on the spools. Now I have all the floss I need for the stocking. I have already got the pattern "blown up" so I can use it for marking as I work on. I'm actually looking forward to getting this started.

I went over to Centralia for lunch with a friend. We hadn't been together in over 6 months. We used to have lunch about once a month. We had an awesome lunch. It's a new Deli in town.

I was back home by 1:30 pm. It gave me plenty of time to put stuff away. I went downstairs and decided to do another floss tube. This one is my Quilt UFO's flosstube video. I was more relaxed on this one. So, if anyone is interested, I showed the applique work I've got going. It's not all the stuff I'm doing but it's stuff that I posted about on here - so if one doesn't know where I am with it - it's on the video! lol

Last night I worked on the backstitching. I wanted to see how she would look with the backstitches. I still have the shawl to do, but will do that after I'm done. I did start on the branches above her head. I'm doing it with the stair step method I do. I'll be working it to the top at an angle. Then I'll continue toward the right. When that's done, I'll turn it over and work the rest of the branches upside down.

I worked the fence in and finished that this afternoon. I was doing it as backstitching goes, but took it out and did it over. The second time I did it, I did "long stitches" to make the fence stand out. I like it better that way.

So, with a headache this morning....this afternoon.....and still now, I'm still moving. I'm not going to let this headache stop my day! I have too much I want to get done, and I can't if I try to sleep it off all the time. I haven't had a headache in over 4 months - that's a good sign for me - and I'm hoping this will go away by tomorrow.

Tomorrow is Saturday and no clue what tomorrow will bring. Hoping I'll be doing some craft but time will tell.

OH! I watched how to make an "envelope bag" and I'm going to make a couple for my scroll frames! I need to pick up some batting that has glue on the back. Then I'm going to work on making a couple of them. I have the fabric....the only down side is that I'll be sewing on my machine **laughing outloud!**

Gorgeous night sky! Happy Stitching!

A Day For Brazilian Embroidery

Today started out fast. I was up just as Patrick left. I drove to Cherrill's to help her out. I had called to see if she wanted to go to our meeting, but she had someone coming and then needed to go into town in the afternoon. So, I had her put the date on the calendar for our next meeting.

I was able to get the stump done. I really didn't have a lot to do, but it did get done. Pat C and I ended up helping Jeannette get organized with her BE threads. She got some threads from a friend of hers that was in quilting with her. It was a BIG mess. We had to look up the name of the threads and figure out what weight the threads were. So, we marked them as Lola, Glory, Iris, and Frost. The threads she had were actually from Brazil.

It worked out okay with not having her with me. Phil needed me to go shopping afterwards. I have been having fun shopping for them. I also borrowed the webcam from them.

So, when I got home, I tried out the webcam and was able to video a piece. I did an introduction and WIP's. I showed what I'm working on for cross stitch and I also showed what I'm looking forward to doing next.

Once can check it out at:

My Flosstube video

I was at this point last night.

And after I did the video, I was able to add some more stitches! I'm really happy with the way it came out! I will be working on it some more tonight.....or not. Not sure what I'll be able to get in....so it may be tomorrow. I have more laundry that didn't get done today to do tomorrow. I'm planning on working on my cross stitch after I post a few more things for eBay. Need to keep making money.

Looking forward to getting more done on her. May we all be Happy Stitching!

So Much For Getting Caught UP!

For the last 3 days I have been in bed sleeping. I caught a cold that turned nasty. Affecting my ears. I believe it's sinus' but wh...
