Our 43rd Wedding Anniversary Today!

 This morning, I overslept a bit. I headed out and had to stop at Safeway. Then I was on my way to moms. I stopped to get a tea from Dutch Brothers. As I was crossing over the bridge, the police and fire truck were headed to I-5. I guess if I was about 10 minutes earlier and on my usual way to mom, I could have been in it or saw the accident. I'm thankful my plans were different. 

When I arrived, someone took my parking spot - no big deal. They have been doing that lately. So, luckily, I found one close to the house. The tension in that group is high. When I asked what they were scheduling, I was told they scheduled the Christmas Party at O'Blarney's in town. I told them I went there with a group, and it took an hour to be served. Not only that, but we were given 3 tables that sat 4 people. I didn't care for the food. I was told that I could call around and find a better place if I didn't like it, but they already made reservations for it. At that point, I was tired of the attitude they have been giving me. I was tired of them voting on stuff when I wasn't there. I would come in sometimes and be told what we were doing. This is the old "Tuesday" group, that moved their way into our "Friday" group. They were the ones that changed our Fridays to every other. AND NOW they are trying to change it to the first and third or second and fourth Friday. Funny thing is, its mom's house, and they don't ask her before they decide on stuff. If they do, mom just goes with it. I told her I was tired of all the crap. So, I told mom I was done with this group. She was upset by it, but I told her "I'm done! I don't care what they decide anymore, I'm done."

So, then I realized it was taking away a day from mom. She wants to see me at the very least, once a week. I decided to ask her if she would let our Monday embroidery group meet at her house instead of going to the grange. That way, if they don't meet, I can visit with her and it's a win, win for both of us. She was so excited about that thought. I was so surprised at how excited she got with that. I asked the group, and they all agreed to do that. So, December 1st we will start meeting at moms. Mom's happy and I can still visit with her on Mondays. Georgie lives by mom, and that gets her to come back to the group. I also invited another person from the area and told her we will start on the 1st. 

I then went to Physical Therapy and came home. I had to change and get ready to head out to Red Lobster - it's our Anniversary dinner! We have been married 43 years today. It was a very nice time down there. We got the "Mariner's Boil" and split it. Patrick got a side of shrimp that he likes. We ate it all. Then we had a dessert but couldn't finish that. So, the good news was, we didn't bring anything home to throw away later. lol 

I did work on a binding while at moms, but that really doesn't count towards being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

On A Roll........

This morning, I needed to get moving. I had to go to the bank, then see Phil, Colleen and then head to moms. I left around 9 am. First, I had to wait on the car in front of me at the bank. That person was doing business they should have gone into the bank for. After 10 minutes, I was able to leave for Phils. I dropped off some jam Patrick made and some fresh bread I made yesterday. Once we chatted, I went to Colleen's to drop off another quilt and then pick up a quilt. I ended up being there a good 45 mins. Mom called to see if I was still coming to the meeting and I told her I was on my way. Stopped to get tea and headed to her house. I ended up arriving at her place at about 10:45 am. UGH! I was going to square off her blocks, but she wanted me to take them home and work on them. 

 It's not like I need more to do. Anyway, I couldn't square them us, but at least they were already close to being squared up. So, I trimmed what I thought I needed and then laid it out on the floor. It's off center, so I'm going to have to try another design. AGAIN, not that I need something to do!!

My eye treatments arrived today. So, I had to heat up the eye patch and wear it for 15 minutes. I have done it 3 times so far. I does feel good, but I still have to use the eye drops as well. The one tonight is a gel that I sleep with. I will do that after I'm done playing on the tablet. 

Then I pulled out my cross stitch to work on. 

I was able to get about 300 stitches done tonight. It's coming along. I have a few places that I don't stitch in because the beads will go in those spots. I don't want to bead as I go. I'm going to do the beading last. I'm actually enjoying working on this. Who knows, at this rate it may get done before Christmas. 

I was running around most of the day. Even had to stop and get gas. Nancy looked pretty good considering she feel and ended up with stitches. We walked down the block and back, because her hip tightened up on her. I was able to show Georgie one of her quilts. And will all that I ended up doing and getting home to do more, I'm tired. I may not finish my book tonight and call it a night sooner than normal. All in all, I was just thrilled to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Quilting At Mom's

This morning, I collected everything I needed for mom's place. We were doing a Birthday lunch for Carmen. It's funny how that works. I had my Birthday last month and no one said a word. Then I get an email asking to bring stuff for her luncheon. Weird how that works. 

I gave Nancy the stuff she needed to do the certificates for our presentations. I hope it works out okay. 

I ended up ironing Ethel's quilt top that we need to get moving on. Mom didn't want to do it, of course. So, she had me do it. Now she needs to take it to Kathleen to be basted. She also wanted me to help her move the quilt on the frame. So, we rolled it so she could do the next "row" of quilting. 

Then I sat down to work on my earrings. I was wearing the ones I did yesterday, and no one said a word. 

As I work trying to figure out the next row after lunch, I found that I did 3 rows backwards. I need to take the top 3 rows off. I couldn't believe I had done that, but then under the circumstances, I can. I didn't want to do it, so I put it away and came home. 

I stopped and got Patrick and I a drink. Then I sat and played my games. I was tired of doing stuff for everyone else. 

As I came on to do my blog, I got a message from Cindy, our state coordinator, that Kristi is now the group leader for Mossyrock. That is going to be interesting. She threw such a fit with me and complained about everything, that I am wondering how that's going to work with QOV. I know she's going to cause problems for our group, but I will just do what I need to do and act as if she isn't here. All I can do. If I have to work with her again, I will tell Cindy flat out, it's not going to happen. 

At least I had part of the day to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Day In Puyallup

At 7:45 am, Geralyn picked me up. We headed to DB to get coffee and tea. Then went on to moms to take her up to Puyallup to the "Wooly Group" that does wool applique and quilting. I took along my embroidery for this trip. We all met at the library up there. It's the first Monday of the month. Geralyn goes there every month. I'm not interested in going every month. But since mom knows Jeanne Austin, she wants to go every month. 

Geralyn was working on her quilt there. It's a wool quilt that has a lot of embroidery. 

I was able to fill in the bowl some. I got a lot of beads in there. It's a lot of work, and I'm betting it will take a while before this is finished. Time will tell. 

We stopped at the Puyallup library to see the quilts that the Comfort Quilters did. There were 20 quilts there. Not as many as last year, but the library was under some construction work. They are remodeling in the upstairs. 

Then we came home. Stopped at the car wash before taking mom home. Then Geralyn dropped me off. It was 3:30 by then. I had to get some work done. So, I went on the computer to send out bills. After that I worked on getting messages sent to the QOV request we have. There are 50 now, and we need to get about 20 of them done by the end of the year. We are so close to having some go over a year of waiting. I have more messages to send out. 

So, today was pretty busy. I just thankful I was able to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Trip To Mom's

This morning Patrick went golfing, and I went to moms. It was quilting day. I took the photos I had to mom and we figured out a couple of them. I need to look for another set downstairs. 

I worked on the block I have been working on at her place. I was able to get the 3 pieces appliqued and readied 2 more. Not exact but close enough. My stitches are bigger, so I need to do this to get them back down. 

Had to stop at Safeway again. Got bread for supper. The split peas that we cooked last night dried a little, so had to add water. It actually was really good. We had that for supper. 

I was playing on my game at night. Just seems to work since we don't spend too much time watching TV. Tend to go to bed around 8-8:30 pm and I listen to my books and play. Patrick reads for a bit and then goes to sleep. At least I was able to be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Enjoying The Morning With Mom And The Quilters

 This morning, I was up and out the door. I had a couple things I needed to do. I even went to get some pen refills at Staples to find out I got the wrong one. PLUS, one of my favorite pens couldn't be opened to put a replacement in it. So, that didn't help. I may need to get another one tomorrow or wait till the next time I go. 

Went to moms and there were 6 of us. Ethel didn't make it. She's been going through a few things lately, and since she's in her 90's it's understandable. The rest of us sat and worked on our stuff. Plus, we chatted - like the old days! Quilting Bee's. 

I reworked that leave I didn't like. I took the first one out and got this one done. I like it a lot better. Then I was going to do the stems. But couldn't decide if I wanted to do the small stems first or the bigger stem. Hate that. So, the more I look at it, the more I think I will do the bigger "thicker" stem first and work off that to get the smaller ones done. Once I do that, then I will be putting the beads on and calling it done. 

Had to wait at moms till 1:30, then stopped at JoAnn's to give her the 2 bolts of fabric she needed for pillow cases. She showed me her quilt top she's working on, and I really like it. She got all that fabric from Diane that I gave her. A big black bag full. Can't remember what bag that was. Oh, well. 

Then headed to see Phil on my way back home. Gave him a hug and said hi to Emily. 

Patrick was home. He didn't go golfing. But he did go to Franz bakery to pick up some stuff. He had a big box full of doughnuts, cookies, and bread! lol He also came home with cream pies. Don't think he plans to share those!! 😋

I was just glad to be able to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Quilting At Moms

 I headed over to moms today. I didn't take anything or do anything. My surgery stitches were sore today. I showed mom the surgery area. She was surprised at how big the stitches were. I told her it's just sore from time to time. Plus the nipple is really sore when I brush across it. That has to be because of those shorts. It was funny how a couple of the gals down play the surgery. It's a quick and easy surgery but the waiting to heal is the hard part. I'm still not 100% ready to get back to normal. 

I didn't stay long. After lunch, I came home. I didn't want to sit and do nothing. I was thinking about home more. When I left, I didn't call Patrick. So, when I got home he told me he had a couple things he wanted me to pick up. I told him the last few times I called he didn't have anything, so I didn't call. Never fails. I really didn't want to be out today. 

When I got home, I fell asleep on the couch for a good 2+ hours. Patrick was napping in his chair as well. Neither one of us got much done when I got home. Patrick did clean up the house and get all the Christmas decorations put away. The tree is gone and the house is back to normal. 

It wasn't a day where I felt good. I was more tired than anything. Not a day to be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

We Made The Paper Today!

 This morning started out with heading to Connie's to get the quilt I need for tomorrow's presentation. Then off to moms for our meeting. Of course, mom had to mention "your news" to everyone. I told her I really didn't want it spread. We had a disagreement about it, but I told her since she mentioned it to everyone, she might as well tell them. She said some of it, and I told the rest. I really didn't want that conversation. 

I worked on putting the label on the quilt for tomorrow. We now have 5 panel quilts for the veterans. That was what I was hoping for! I did notice Nancy was working on a panel one that we could have used as well. But Nancy has a hard time getting them done as quick as she used to. I'm okay with that. 

 After the meeting I headed to the Health Store to get some Almond flour. It was about the same price as Safeway, but theirs looked a little better. Still expensive. Came home to finish the quilt. Now it's ready. On my way home, I received some messages from Kaiser on surgery dates. The first date is when we will be gone, so said no. The second date is now scheduled for December 28, which happens to be Patrick's 3rd year anniversary of his cancer. Funny how things work out. 

I baked some carrot muffins for breakfasts. I didn't have the sweetener that it called for. So, I added about 3 tablespoons of sugar - didn't need the sugar. When it was done, it was "okay" but not real tasty. It needed more spices in it. I will fix it next time and change it a little. 

Patrick showed me the paper. Our QOV group was in the Centralia Chronicle. It turned out really well. I like what he did. It's nice to be in the paper about once a year. It really does help us out. It's been great!

I then decided to get to work on my beading. 

I finished the 4th set of angels. Now I am ready to start on the LAST set. Mom is not getting one this year. 

The tubes of beads in this photo are the ones I will use in the 5th set of angels. This is a photo of the bracelet I fixed for Debbie. She had given it back to me to shorten it, and I finally got it done. Told her to remind me to give it to her tomorrow. 

My day was busy. I'm now just waiting for surgery, which I am okay with. I can spend the Vegas trip with my daughter and sister-in-law (hubby too), without worrying about having to have radiation. Life works itself out. And I can still be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Winding Down The Year For QOV

 Today I was out the door early. I needed to get stamps and then get drinks. I called the museum and asked Kylee and Chip what they wanted to drink. Then I got the three of us a drink. I also got the car washed. 

I arrived an hour earlier than usual at the museum. We were to be downstairs and they were getting stuff ready for us. I asked if we could be outside this time. So, they were kind enough to get us set up outside. We had a beautiful day and we thought that would be fun to do. Better than being crammed in the museum area. It really worked out great.

A wonderful group of people! We had an awesome time!

It worked out great to be in the area that we were. Names of other veterans in on the wall beside them. 

Came home and took a walk with Ron. He did 5 loops and I did 4 loops today. He had done one earlier in the day. 

Then I got supper ready. Once that was done, I played games and watched TV with Patrick. We will be going up to Olympia tomorrow. I just hope I behave and get something to eat - at least at lunch time. I don't know what I will do about supper because he's tests are at 3 pm and 6 pm. I can't eat after 6:30 pm and my body doesn't like it when I don't eat or drink much in a day. When I came in the house from walking my body started to shake and let me know it wasn't happy with me. I hadn't had much all day. So, I drank some cranberry juice and had a couple pretzels to get the shaking to go away. I sat for about 15 mins to make sure I could cook supper. If I'm not careful I will have to go on diabetic meds. Not going there!

We have one more presentation to do before we take a break. That doesn't include our presentation on Veterans Day when we do 5 veterans. Chip asked us to do the speaker as well. That put us up to 5. The break will get us to January. Then we are going back to once a month. This year has been way too busy for us all. And yet, I find myself Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Judging At Cowlitz County

 Today we were up early and off to pick mom up. We stopped at Starbucks on the way. 

Arrived around 9 am and met the women we were to work with. There was Karen, Karen, Karen and others. lol Karen was the gal that called asking us to judge, Karen 2 helped mom with her quilts and Karen 3 was recording the information as we were going. 

They had some awesome quilts. I had more blues then red or white. I gave 1 white ribbon to someone. I gave about 6 reds. A lot of quilters didn't have the quilts squared up. So, the quilt waved or bulged out. There were more quilt that could have been Blue Plus if they had the quilts squared. 

I think we taught some of the gals what we were looking for. I had one that was half square triangles, and there was no rhyme or reason to the quilt. I tried to see if I could find one, but I couldn't. I judged it on workmanship and not because of the rhyme or reason part. I gave her a blue. After it was judge, I found out it was Karen 2's quilt. She laughed at me about judging this one. She was watching me try to find a rhyme or reason. She said it was a block the guild gave out. She did a good job on the piecing but can't remember if that one had the quilt squared up. I had a couple quilts that would have been in the top running, but the machine quilting was bad on the back. A lot of threads showing. 

This was the quilts after we judged them. There were 100 quilts. We started at 9 am and finished at 2 pm. We had lunch in between. 

Then Patrick came back and picked us up. We stopped at Red Lobster for supper and mom paid because she told Patrick she owed him for his Birthday (January). LOL 

Came home and got backing and batting cut for Val's quilt. Printed labels for Val. Pulled out certificate paper for Debbie. Have a folder for Val and Debbie. Brought up the BE boxes for Sandy to take home. Will stop at Debbie's tomorrow. Taking stuff to Sandy as well.

Meeting Day And Not A Stitching Day

Today started out with waiting on Debbie to arrive. Then we were off to moms. First we dropped off a quilt at Grace Church. Then we headed to Dutch Brothers for "our fix" which is her coffee and my tea. Then we headed to Fuller's to get her peppermint "shot" for her coffee. Once that was done, we were off to moms. We arrived before Connie and one other. 

Our meeting was to discuss the fair. We need to see if everyone is in agreement to give Mossyrock QOV a day or two at the fair. We ended up talking about that and other stuff. Mostly about getting workers to help with getting quilts made. With 19 members about 1/4 of that is the "worker bees." The meeting took a good 3 hours!! Mom got off on other subjects or got off topic several times. She'd hear one word and then went off on that. By the time we were done, it was decided that we would give Mossyrock a day or two at the fair. I let my state coordinator know. She told me I had to contact them. So, when I got home after going out to eat, I sent an email. Now we wait. Debbie and I stopped at DB again. We ordered a cold drink in large. To our surprise we got it free. Both drinks! I was really surprised. 

When I got home I had to walk. I have to walk around the block (actually 2) 3 x's. Once that is done, then I have what I'm supposed to do. Then we went to Outback Steakhouse. I bought my hamburger that I've been dying for over a week! lol - This one was really good!

I have got a long list of stuff to do for QOV. All because I wanted to have a meeting about the fair. Then it went off on other things. We will see how that goes! I'm not too thrilled. 

My day wasn't stitching but just a meeting! As much as I wanted to be, I was not Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Every Other Friday - Carmen's Birthday

 This morning I was up at 5:45 am to be out the door by 6:30 am. We had a presentation to do with the Twin Cities Rotary Club. It was fun to see what they do. We - Debbie, Connie and I - were there early and trying to figure out where we were meeting. It was comical. They were very nice. We gave our speech and answered a lot of questions. Then they passed the bucket. We got a good amount of money for QOV. We are looking good now. I'm not sweating worrying over where I get the money to pay for things. 

Afterwards we went to "Hashes" in Centralia for breakfast. I had a hard time trying to decide what to eat. I didn't want egg. 

I ordered a "Gaint Cinnamon Bun" that was 10 times bigger than I thought it would be!! I barely eat it! I took it to moms (after I stopped to get a Birthday Cake for Carmen). I couldn't believe this. I was disappointment with this as it was on the dry side for me. The frosting was really good though! lol Carmen loved the cake I got for her. I didn't ask how old she is, but betting in the 80's. 

When I got to moms I cut the bun in sections. Then I put it out on a plate. Everyone seemed to like it. Michele liked it so much that I gave her the 1/4 that was left. I didn't want to bring it home. Patrick can't do "dry." I also baked the sour dough bread that I made. I was disappointed because it lost it's height due to the car. I should have let it raise again, but we didn't have the time to wait for it to rise. 

I didn't do anything while at moms. Michele took the quilt that needed the binding stitched down and there was only one ready. So, I got a few books for mom since she wanted me to get her a few book on Libby. 

I was given 2 quilts that are ready for labels along with 2 boxes full of fabric for QOV. I don't know where they will go, but I do know I will be needing to put it away! It's still on the table! 

I left at the same time everyone else did. I didn't want to stay and help mom with the computer or whatever else she could come up with. I stopped at Safeway for shrimp. Then home. 

I was and am tired! So, I played games. Now I'm ready to crash! I wish I had been Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Quilt Meeting At Moms

 This morning I had a few things to do before going to moms. I had to stop at the bank and then Connie's. Dropped off my quilt top but realized the backing was still in the dryer! So, I'll have to drop it off on Monday. Mom called me at 10 am to see if I was coming. Told her I was on the bridge and would be there in 5 mins. 

I arrived to only 2 people already there. There was one quilt done that I put in the back of the car. Then Hildi arrived when I was doing that. She called me over to give me a box of fabric. She was clearing out her fabrics and it's all red, white and blue. I will add that to the fabric I have downstairs. She didn't have the challenge panel. I took Nancy to her place to pick up the challenge panel because her car was blocked in. I took Nancy 3 quilts that needed the binding sewn down. Mom had 5 quilts that needed the hand stitching done. Penny decided to work on the bindings when she comes to the meeting. So, she finished one side of  a quilt. I brought that one home. 

I spent my time at moms sewing the labels, so that I could iron them and have them ready for the quilts. I need to order more labels. I was able to iron 7 labels. Then I sewed 7 more - photo - and they are ready to be ironed. I only have 7 more that I will work on later. I helped mom afterwards before I came home. 

Had to take a photo of her giant Iris/Tiger Lily. It's really pretty!

Had to stop at Carol's to give her the list of Stillwater Residents to see if they are on our list of veterans. If not, then we won't do July 4th with them. If they wanted us to do that, they should have submitted applications in January to be able to do that. Then I texted Debbie I was on my way. Got us a drink at Dutch Brothers and then went to Love's for gas. She was behind me at Loves! It was comical. She followed me home. I got her to use the gas app I have. I'm up to $15 from saving in gas rewards. 

We both arrived and she went downstairs to get fabric for the panel she brought. I took her receipts and filled out a reimbursement for them. We chatted and got some ideas of quilts as we were there. 

After she left, I got to work on doing statements for the water group. I had to get them done and in the mail - or ready for the mail. It took some doing because I no longer use QuickBooks. Now I'm just playing games and watching information on Volcano's.  I had enough to do at moms that kept me Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Presentation & Meeting Day

We were having a meeting this morning at 9 am. Chip was a little late to let us in. No worries. I had to leave early to go to Safeway and then get our drinks at Dutch Brothers. I was the first one there, then Smiley arrived. We chatted for awhile before Debbie and Connie came. Once they arrived, everyone started coming in one after the other. Mom and Nancy were running a little late. 

We got our meeting going. Letting everyone know we were short on money for our group. Then my mother ended up talking to mom on the phone. She went into the bathroom while we had our meeting. She asked my younger brother for a donation. He agreed. Then she called my older brother and told him that our younger brother donated to our group - so he did too. I had to walk my older brother through to do it online. My younger brother is sending a check. All's good. When we had our potluck, Kaylee came up with another donation that came in the mail. So, by the time we were done today, we had $800. Since it was my Birthday I got a few gifts. Debbie brought me a Birthday cake. Loved her card! Diane D brought me some stuff to make a Smith and Curns (sp). Even the whipping cream! I was to thankful to her. She's a sweetheart. The potluck was great. After that, we got everything ready for presentation. 

Presentation went good. I was signing some quilts before the presentation was done and realized that doesn't work. It interrupts others. So, that won't happen again.

They asked for all our group to join them in a photo. I'm in the back on the right side (4th to the left). It was a good group today. We did miss one person. We are also getting behind on quilts. So, I'm going to have to get moving and make a quilt for more veterans. I have a quilt panel that I need to make for Carol's friend. Then more for our veterans.

I couldn't have asked for a better Birthday today. I saw my son after the presentation. I was able to honor our veterans and give away quilts. What is better than that?!  Unfortunately I wasn't able to be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

HUM - What Do I Usually Do On Friday's?

This morning I was up and getting stuff ready to go to Connie. I had 5 bags and a tub to take to her. I also had the batting that I got from the shop that I gave her. told her she can do whatever she wanted with it. Of course I had to be at her place by 9:30 am, I was there by 9:15 am and dropped everything off. Next stop was gas. We had 80 cents off per gal of gas, so I paid $3.49 for gas. It's more than most states pay, but in WA they love to tax whatever they can. Taxes go on gas, and then rarely get removed, even when we vote on it. lol 

Got to moms around 10 am and was the first there. Then Nancy came. Mom was getting bindings done for the quilts I had at her house. She didn't realize she needed to sew the binding on. So, I sat down and put 2 bindings on 2 quilts. That left her with 2 to finish. Nancy was going to look at the bindings she has to match them up with the quilts. 

 Connie gave me a quilt that she had the binding ready for it. I put that one on at moms. So, it jumped the line! lol Then I worked on getting this one and got it done. Then mom and I sat down and started to sew down the bindings. I was able to get a side done before I left. Mom had about the same. The one mom was working on went to Michael to finish up. She only had about 1 side to finish the one she was working on. If all goes well, mom should be bring me at least 2 done if not 3. We seriously need more quilts. Connie has 7 to quilt. That should get us up there but I'm getting nervous since we are doing 9 veterans at a time. 

In case you haven't figured it out - I usually go to moms on Fridays. lol 

Stopped at Safeway on the way home. Then I stopped to get both Patrick and I a milk shake at Dairy Dan's. Came home and played a few games. I was also contacted by one of the people I sent a letter to that will be awarded a quilt on my Birthday. I just hope we don't get any more for the 18th. We have 9 with the possible of 10. I think we will use the challenge quilts for this one. I'm not sure if we have that many quilts for the next 2 presentations. We will have to wait and see. I know we have about 4 panel quilts, so hoping I can get more done! This is getting me moving - I hope! That will keep me Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Friday At Mom's

This morning I was up and working on my exercises. Then I was out the door heading to moms. I dropped off the box of thread that came yesterday. I ended up with a double order. So, I called Superior threads and they gave me a return label for the second box. We were laughing at how weird that was. I was only charged for one set of threads. 

Arrived at moms before everyone else. Mom had a bowl of almonds in water! She doesn't like the skins on almonds. Nancy told her they soak the almonds in water and then peel them. She put the whole bag in the water, so it was taking her forever to get them skinned. A couple of us helped her. Then everyone started to come in. I gave Nancy my blue bag from BDEIG that I thought she would like. She said she would take it. I have another bag I will be giving to Carol for the QOV paperwork. I will take that tomorrow. We had 8 of us today. A lot was getting done. I took 5 quilts that needed the binding stitched down. I also gave mom 2 quilts that needed the binding machine stitched down. 

I didn't want to work on quilts. I took my embroidery and decided to work on that instead. I started working on the mud people and got a few things done. I will double check the photo on the computer to see if I'm doing it right. 

Then before I knew it, mom wanted me to work on her title page for quilt judging. She's teaching class tomorrow and needed me to correct her wording. I gave that job over to Nancy and then changed the information. 

Came home and Patrick had worked on the yard all day. He was in the house when I arrived. I brought 3 quilts back home that need labels on them. Then Georgie emailed me asking to find one of her quilt block quilts for her friend that is getting a quilt on the 4th. I wish I knew about it sooner, because we used all the panel quilts at the last presentation that had her blocks in them. I'm going to have to find one that Debbie or I did. UGH. It's going to be finding a needle in a haystack. Oh, well. I will do all I can to get one of her quilts to her friend. She's done so much for us that I have to do the best I can for her. 

We went out for ice cream today since it was 90 degrees. Too hot for me. I called it done for today. I had to send a letter to my cousin in CA and get my reimbursement sent out to QOV. It's been a busy day till now. That's why I was glad to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Quilting Day At Moms

 This morning I stopped at the coffee shop and got some Chai teas for mom and me. I was the first one there. Then I ended up working on moms computer to get a few things fixed. Then she wanted to get her TV to get Britbox back on it. We had a heck of a time trying to get it to work for her. I left and then she called to tell me she fixed it. Mom has Acorn, Britbox, Netflets and something else. She's been spending money on the TV shows. lol 

I worked on the binding of one of the QOV quilts. I then went to get gas. I love my Upside app. It really does pay to get money back on gas. 

Came home and played games. We were going to go to the golf course tonight for a comic show. We arrived to find out they were sold out on the website. So, we came back home. Now I'm just thinking about bowling tomorrow. We have to be there at 8 am today. 

I guess binding counts as Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Friday Quilting -

 Before I start my blog, I would like to thank Anne Kirby for her kind words on my blog. I don't see the posts till I clean up my "social" and "Promotions" on my email. They don't seem to come straight to my email. I will pay more attention - more often. Thank you for you kind words regarding Patrick. We take each day as it goes. The blood tests today seem to be better than they have been in the past - figures crossed and prayers going. 

Today started out to be getting ready to head to moms. I made a couple detours before arriving at her place. Everyone else was there. I found the Tuesday group siting with our Friday group. Come to find out the two groups joined together. There was about 10 of us. I found it hard to follow any conversation. There were 3 or 4 conversations going at once. It isn't that much fun when there is that many people. Mom had to get another chair for me. The living room was full. I decided not to take anything to work on, but I did take my binding stuff. Then I picked up a quilt from mom's stack to do the binding on. After everyone left, I told mom I think that's way too many people for our quilt group. She said she didn't realize the Tuesday group is no longer and that they joined Friday, but she had enough room. I told her I may not be coming all the time then, because I have a hard time following conversations. I want to listen to someone, and someone is talking to me. Oh, well. We will see how it goes. 

I was able to finish it today too. I added the label to the back. Now I have 7 quilts to take to the museum. Connie Carter made this one as well. I did notice while I was at our meeting that Nancy was working on my quilt. They are slowly getting done. Mom still had a pile of about 3 or 4 more quilts to work on. I will pick up another one later when I go to see her next week. 

I didn't get much else done. Patrick and I enjoyed watching TV while I was stitching. It will be fun to see what I can get done this weekend. I want to start working on a jigsaw puzzle. lol  I look forward to this weekend. I'm not sure if I will be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Mom Started Up Her Group Again

 This morning I was out the door to Connie's. Dropped off some stuff for Donna. Told her I would pick up the quilts that Donna has on Monday. I also told her I would bring her something, and now I can't remember what it was. I will have to think on this. 

Then it was off to moms. I was second there, but by the time I was ready to sit, all the chairs were gone. There were 7 of us. Nancy and Hildi are going to the applique retreat on Tuesday. They will be gone a week. I worked on my embroidery instead of quilting. I am tired of working on my quilting. I had more fun working on my embroidery. Funny how that is. 

I finished the bullion flowers. Then went to work on the flowers above them. I have them all done but this set. 

I did take one of those flowers out and re-worked it. I like it better now. I'm really close to finishing this. Not sure what I will do with it or what I will do with it. I'm just having fun working on it. 

Then everyone let around noon. No one brought lunch. I went to Subway and bought lunch for mom and I. I couldn't believe Subway's prices! It's double what I used to pay. One sandwich was $15! They used to be $5-6.  UGH

Headed home but took the long way. I ended up going through Chehalis. I almost forgot to stop at Rite Aid on my way home. lol  I had 7 people in front of me. Never fails, when it got done to me, I had to wait on the 2 people at the window for a good 5 mins. They had questions and where looking for stuff. Seems to be my lucky day! NOT. I didn't mind. I was shocking myself because I just waited and didn't bother checking my watch. I just watched everyone else in front of me. It was really interesting. lol 

Came home and got supper going. I enjoyed some time with Patrick. The weather was hot in the afternoon. We have the smoke in the air lately. All the fires from the middle of the state are coming this way. We can even smell it. I will need to take some Zyrtec tonight. I get allergies when that happens. 

We will be taking mom to Olympia to look for a new dishwasher. Hers broke. It cracked where the buttons are. 

Patrick and I just enjoyed Pinocchio on Netflix. It was one of the better ones I've seen! I never cared for this movie. Not even the animated movie. I did enjoy this one. 

I'm trying to get back to being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Meeting At Nancy's

 This morning it was meeting day at Nancy's. Mom's still not feeling up to it. I did pick her up and take her over there. She only stayed about an hour and a half. Then got tired and asked me to take her home. I came back for lunch. We had a salad, bread, and dessert. 

I was busy working on the binding of one of our quilts. 

I was able to get 2 sides done while there. I am down to the last side. Nancy had one of the quilts done, which I brought home. It needs a label - as usual - and I will put it on before calling it done. 

I worked on getting 5 labels ready for the backs. I ran out of labels that were already prepped. Now I have 5 prepped but one is this one. 

Nancy and I went over the fair list. We couldn't assign dates yet because they don't have the dates for Senior day or Military day. When they have that, we can assign people to the day. 

My day was trying to say cool. It hit 100 degrees today and I'm still feeling it. At least I could work in air conditioning at Nancy's. Which made it a day of Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!
