A Day At The Hospital

What a day! We got up early, went over to the folks to get dad off to the hospital (they finally called at 8:15 pm to say we needed to be there at 9:30 am). We split up in two cars, Katt wanted to take her car in case she wanted to go somewhere. Katt and I went in one car, Patrick took mom and dad in their car.

We arrived at 9:40 am and dad was in the room getting ready for surgery. Then we found out there was an emergency and someone else went in before him. I spent time with dad while he was waiting to go in. He didn't make it into surgery till 1:15 pm. I worked on my blocks and I played on my tablet while we waited. Dad's surgery took 3 1/2 hours. He finally made it up to the ICU room at 7:00 pm. So, we visited and then headed back home. It all depends on how he's doing tomorrow as to when he will be coming home.

I appliqued these leaves done. It's all ready for the flower.

I finished this basket. I also got the wing of the eagle done too. I'm happy with what all I did get done.

My threads arrived yesterday from P3 Designs, Pearl P. I love the colors, and it will be a new challenge for me to use the thread. I do like how they look, so I'm really looking forward to using the thread. It's going to look better than the floss does. Just what I need, more threads for embroidery! I must have 4 different kinds of threads for embroidery!

I need to take a few pictures of the stuff I've been working on. I did start block #1's flower. It's in pink.

It's been a long day, dad's resting, and I'm still Happy Quilting.

Spending The Day With A Friend

Today started out fast and furious. I played cribbage with the neighbor, and only won one game. Then I headed to my friends house and worked on a few things.

She had 15 of the bookmarks done.

Need 15 more for the retreat. I cut out more, matched them up while she sewed them up. I also cut out more fabrics for the Kleenex holders.

She finished up 4 more, so I believe I have about 10 or 15 now. I'll have to check out what I have downstairs.

I showed her how to mark her 2 Fabric Applique Nancy Chong's design. I had her mark her design with mom's light box. I had to leave it because she didn't get it done. I will be going back on Thursday or Friday. I also forgot my marking pencil. So, I really need to go back and pick it up. I stopped by my cousins place because I forgot my marking pencil there too. I left the black one with her, and my white one with my friend today. At this rate, I'm going to be giving away my tools!

I did stop this morning and take a few pictures of the flowers.

Patrick's beautiful tulips.  I couldn't leave without taking photos.

This is how the day was today. This is our poplar tree at the side of the house.

Rose gave me some rooted plants, so when I got home, I planted them. They look great, and I'm hoping to get the to grow. She's been cutting back on her plants, and has a couple of them she's growing more before cutting. Told her I would love to have the cuttings.

I stopped and took a photo of Mt. Rainier, that I could see on the way home. I love seeing the mountains on clear days. It's really pretty around here.

I've got more applique to do. My list is getting longer, but I have been finishing a few things, and that's awesome for me! I love doing applique over sewing pieces. I will be putting some basting stitches on the basket blocks for tomorrow. Still don't know when dad is going in. No one has bothered to call him and he's going in tomorrow. GRRR

Daughter will be here soon. She came to be with my dad. Oh, well......I'm still thinking positive! Happy Quilting!

Another Project Done

Today was one of those days, I woke at 3 am, got up and played games. Played for 2 hours and went back to bed. I couldn't sleep most of the night. I slept for an hour at a time. At 3 am I gave up and came out in the living room to relax. After I went back to bed, I slept till 8 am. Go figure!

I relaxed most of the day, while doing laundry. Shortly after lunch, I finally got busy working on the baby afghan. I'm happy to say it is finally finished.

I finished it up, washed it and had it ready to give to mom to send with her baby quilt. I hope they like it. I was a little disappointed in my crocheting, because I keep getting off. The ones I could fix by taking out, I did. The areas that I couldn't figure out how far down I messed up, I fixed. Only someone who knows crochet and counts stitches would find them. I hope people don't sit there are count the stitches! I wouldn't, but I'm one that if you can see it, fix it, if you can't see it, don't look for it.

I will get back to working on the eagle. I'm off to a friends house tomorrow. She text'd me to tell me she finished the bookmarks for the retreat and has a few more Kleenex covers to do. I was surprised she finished up the bookmarks, I was going to have a few ready to work on. Glad I didn't do what I said I would. I'm also hoping she used my fabric that she said I gave her that she hasn't used yet. If I give fabric away, it's for a project they are supposed to be working on. If one doesn't use my fabric, and it's one of my favorite, then I'd love to have it back. Oh, well.....

Bowling was tonight....not going to talk about that.....and now I'm home.

Sent an email to Seabeck Retreat organizer to let her know I want to go next year. I'll be sending money once a month to get it paid for. Should be fun to go back to. I have really been enjoying the retreats lately. I tend to get a few things done that way. lol

Tomorrow I will be teaching my friend how to do applique. We will be working on one of Nancy Chong's 2 Fabric Applique projects. I'm looking forward to showing her what to do. She will do the basting on the machine - as she is a machine person. She's a sewer, and I'm a hands on person. Looking forward to having a day with her. May relax me for Tuesday.

Happy Quilting!

Happy Birthday DAD!

Today is my father's 82nd Birthday.

This is my parents. Dad has always been there for all of us.

This is all of us, my father, my mother, my older brother, myself, and my younger brother. Dad is always cracking a joke when we get photos.

This is what we do to pass time sometimes. We play games. This is dad thinking of the next move to make.

Today was about dad. I baked a carrot cake for him, with cream cheese frosting. That's his favorite cake. I wasn't thinking, I should have taken a photo of it. Then we went to the barber shop quartet program at the High School. It was awesome. My ex-boss was in the show as well. After that we went out to eat. Came home and played two games of gin. Of course my mother won both games. Dad loved the cake.

I did take my eagle with me to the program and was able to get a few stitches in on it. I'm almost done with the bottom part of the wings. It's going pretty good, I just need to sit down and work on them. Tomorrow may be a better day, we'll have to wait and see. It's also bowling night.

Dad goes into the hospital on Tuesday for surgery, so not sure how the next few days will be. I will probably take along a few things to work on while we wait on the surgery and after.

Happy Quilting!

An Awesome Day With Friends

Today I did go and play cribbage. I won all three games and even skunked Art. It was awesome!

Then I came home and got ready for going to my cousins place to work on projects. I took along the light box I borrowed from mom and my freezer paper to show the two different ways to do applique.
I got my fabric together and figured I was good to go. Got over to Donna's (3rd cousin) and got my stuff out to work on. Right after I arrived, Rita arrived. We chatted for a little bit before getting started. As Donna and I were talking about the eagle patterns we were going to use for the blocks she gave me, she realized in moving things around she couldn't find her patterns. These are the Jeannie Austin patterns that I got from Jeannie. I knew I had my set, so I decided to come home and get my patterns. That way she could make another copy.......Well......that didn't happen. I came home (thankfully she's not that far away), and COULDN'T FIND THEM! I looked all over. I don't know what I did with the patterns! My brain is trying to figure out what I did with the patterns. They were rolled up! What in the world did I do with them?? So, I headed back to her house, and we all laughed at how I couldn't find my patterns any more than she could. We are both bothered by not having our patterns! UGH!

So, we worked on another eagle pattern she had in one of her books. We both were thinking about where we could have put our patterns! Anyway, I showed Rita the back basting method to work on her quilt blocks. She was so thrilled she was able to finish a block in no time! It was a really cute pattern too. Donna and I worked on the freezer paper method with the eagle. I like to use freezer paper for larger projects and pieces.

Donna picked out some awesome colors! I love the colors we are working with. She is doing one just like this one. She did an awesome job with her block for doing it the first time. One wouldn't know she was learning. This will get her to enjoy applique without being afraid of doing it.

The head of the eagle is red, the wings are bright blue, with the another blue for the tail and gold for the shield. I'm thinking this will go fast. I will probably have it done before going to dad's surgery on Tuesday, but if not, I will take it along to work on while I'm there with the family.

We had a great time together. I don't think I've enjoyed myself more than I did today. I was thinking about my two applique groups and what we did today. Today, I actually talked with Donna and Rita and didn't feel as if they weren't interested in what I had to say. My Thursday group seem to ignore me unless I get their attention by asking for it, and even then there are two or three that keep talking while I'm trying to tell everyone what is going on. I'm used to that, so no worries. That's why I tend to sit back and listen to conversations, because I found most people don't really want to know what I have to say. They just ask to be nice most times. There are a few friends I know that aren't that way, but even mom's Friday group are like that. Since I'm mom's daughter, if I say something they don't like, it gets uncomfortable. Everyone has their opinions, and I try hard not to judge, but I find in today's world people judge. Oh, well, that's life.

I had the best time today. We laughed and we TRIED to figure out what in the world we could have done with our patterns. Can one tell, I'm really, really, still thinking about what in the world I did. lol My mind keeps thinking of possibilities of where they are. I may end up finishing typing and go down to see if I missed something today.....ugh.

It was an Awesome day of Happy Quilting!

A Day With My Group - Haven't Missed a Stitch

Today was our groups potluck. I woke early and called and canceled my time playing cribbage. I then got a few things ready for the potluck, having to stop at the dollar store to get cups, napkins, and paper (which I forgot).

I arrived earlier than anyone else. Got the tables ready for the potluck. Members started showing up. We went through the process of eating and going through the "give a ways."

Funny how our group has been leaving right after lunch or before 1 pm anymore. Not sure why they all leave before 1 anymore. We used to stay at the shop till 2:30, 3:00, or 3:30 pm. Now they all disappear by 1pm. Guess life is getting in the way. I stayed with Joyce till about 2:45 pm working on my basket blocks.

I finished this block while chatting with Joyce at the shop. I also started working on another block.

When I got home, did the usual of starting supper, "creamed shells," which Patrick likes. I then had to go get the stuff together for going to see my cousin tomorrow. I really need to go get the photo of her grandfather I have and take it to her.

I love how quick the baskets are. I hope to be able to get more basted leaves and flowers on some of the baskets I've got done. The flowers are a little more work, but I'm actually enjoying working on these. This weekend I will try and check my stuff downstairs to see what I need to work on and get done. I think I'm getting caught up on some of my "in progress" projects. I am looking forward to starting another project that I have the fabric for, and may take that with me to the retreat to sew the background fabrics together.

My mind is going in several directions..and that direction too....I have quilts I need to quilt....I have applique that I can take with me.....I need to get started on quilting....No, I need to finish the quilt downstairs and Phil's quilt.....Okay, have more to do than I thought......Here we go again.

Yep, I'm going crazy again....But hey! I'm still Happy Quilting!

Having Fun Working on Baskets

Today I made an excuse not to go next door and play cribbage. I seriously need to cut back on going over there.  I went to see my dad before I had physical therapy. We had a good time. We even went to Arby's for lunch. Dad was cleaning the house when I arrived. He seems to do a lot of that lately, while mom quilts. Good thing mom was at Seabeck, because she couldn't complain at dad for not doing something. lol

I didn't make it back till later in the day. I went to Michael's looking for some floss, but they didn't have what I wanted, so I bought a "bar" pan. I also picked up two utensils but after I got them home, realized they were "cheaply" built. And they were from that Cake Boss. I'm thinking that is his name. I know now that I won't buy another "Cake Boss" product for the crap I got. But I did like the price, so can't complain too much.

Last night I was able to get a few things done on the baskets. I'm really having fun with doing them.

This is the basket for the first block. I was surprised at how quick and easy it went. I'm getting better at this. lol

I still have two blocks with leaves basted down. I'm betting it will be fun and easy to work on.

I did start working on block #7's basket. I'm really surprised at how many of the baskets I have done. I have also picked out some of the fabrics that will be the flowers for a couple of the blocks. I find I'm stay pretty close to the colors that are in the designed blocks. I would like to think outside the box and try to get my own colors in there. I'm not as crazy about pink, and they seem to be in a lot of blocks. I'm going to check on the flowers online to see if there are other colors that will work just as good. I do have "some" pinks, but not a lot. Mom has more pinks then I do, so chances are I'm going to be going over to her place and getting some pink to go for a few of the blocks. I even have an idea of what I'm going to do to make the quilt just a little bigger.

Tonight was bowling night. I bowled a 160, 215, and 194. Can't complain. I'm getting a little better now with the new ball. I'm finally comfortable with the new bowling ball, and it's showing. Patrick didn't do as good. We had a sub because our bowling partners took a month off. With the gone, we still lost 3 games for the second week in a row!

We dropped off my daughter-in-laws Birthday gift on the way to bowling. Her Birthday is tomorrow. Patrick got her a couple really pretty plants for the yard. She is so good at gardening and awesome at growing plants.

Tomorrow is our potluck at the Thursday quilt group. Looking forward to enjoying a day with quilters. We'll all be Happy Quilting!

Day at the Casino

I spent the day at the casino with my neighbor, because he can't see out of one eye, and can't drive long distances. We arrived at the casino early and stayed till about 1 pm. My neighbor gives me money to play, and I did pretty good till about 11 am. Then the money was gone. lol I played keno and won the money I put into it. That was my big win. lol

When I got home, I put the chicken in the oven. I played a few games for a short time, and then got ready for supper. Dad came over since mom is at Seabeck.

I did get some applique in - but not much.

I started appliqueing down the first blocks basket.

Last night I did get another 6 rows on the afghan. After a while my shoulder didn't like the workout. So, I called it good. I'm hoping to get more done tonight and tomorrow. Hopefully I will have something to post worth reading.

Happy Quilting.

Day of Applique

This morning was a good morning. I played cribbage with Art and then came home to play a little on the tablet.

It was pretty rainy all day. I did get a chance to go out and take a few pictures of the tulips coming out.

We've got some really pretty flowers coming up.

Patrick has a lot of tulips out there, so I have more of the tulips then these.

Can't remember the name of these.

There are some dark ones coming out as well.

Not sure what the red leave coming out will be, but thought it looked cook with all the green coming up.

I finished this block. I used my DMC floss on the center, and I don't really like the look of it. So, I looked to see what Pearl used and found she was using the sulky 12 wt cotton thread. I ordered some from her and I also order some from Amazon. Between the two, I think I paid about $20 for about 12 colors. Not sure, but will show it when they come in. I hope they are easy to work with.

Since they had NCIS on TV all day today, I watched the shows as I appliqued. Charlie had to keep me company. I am not doing the "posts" on the baskets, but this one is basket #2.

This is where I am right now. I'll try and finish up the flower tonight. OR I may work on my afghan. Haven't quiet got there yet. It will be nice to have 2 of the baskets done. I will mark the last ones hopefully this week. Quilting is Thursday and Friday is a day with my cousin.

I got a kick out of mom today. She saw a call from my Aunt on her cell phone. She calls me and leaves me a message that I need to get a hold of her to see what she wanted BECAUSE she didn't have her phone number with her! So, I called around trying to get a hold of my Aunt. As time went by, I found out she didn't call my mother today or yesterday. So, I'm thinking she called a few days ago, and mom just noticed the call this morning. She called later to see if I got a hold of my Aunt and I told her she didn't call, but if she wanted the number it shows up on her cell, so she could have called her back. I got a "yea, I know, got to go." She was headed up to Seabeck for the retreat. Wonder how many more phone calls I'll get to check on things. lol

We're having dad over tomorrow night for supper. Hopefully I will get back before 2 pm from the casino. I have agreed to take my neighbor to the casino. I can do it once a month. And he looks forward to going.

Spring is here, and I'm looking forward to seeing more flowers bloom. It keeps me in spirits to do applique. I'm learning every time I do more applique. My work isn't as good as I would like it to be, but I'm working on it. It's always a work in progress. Just like Patrick's garden, it's a work in progress. I'm looking forward to getting more done. Life is good, and we're all Happy Quilting!

Movie, Applique, and Bowling

Today was a good day overall. I woke early this morning, played on my tablet, and found myself falling asleep. After Patrick got up around 10 am, I went back to bed. I couldn't believe I slept for another hour and then some. I usually don't sleep that much. It felt good, but odd at the same time. All I wanted to do was go back to bed.

Once I got up, Phillip showed up to work on a bee house. Him and Patrick went out in the garage and worked on the bee house. I stayed in the house and played a few games. Patrick came back in to say the movie starts in about 30 mins, so I knew I didn't have much time to do applique.

We went to the movie "Cinderella," which I really enjoyed. I liked it better than the one I saw in the 1960's. I really did enjoy the movie.

We got back home and I had an hour or so to work on my applique. I pulled out my #4 block (first one I started working on). I was able to get the center done. I would have liked to have done a better job, but I ended up doing it twice to get it this way. I now need to do the embroidery on it, and will do that this week. Then I'll actually have one of 15 blocks done. lol

I was able to start working on another basket (#2) and will get moving on it. I have three baskets done, and just need to do the flowers next. What I really need to do is get the fabric for the flowers and baste them down on the blocks. Then I will have plenty to work on. I basted a basket on one of the blocks last night. I was also able to mark three more blocks. They are small projects and are going really fast. I'm surprised at how much fun it is to do them. As I was working on the basket block I was thinking of how this was going to be done.

As one can see, I am not putting the "knobs" on the baskets. I found that they didn't "balance" each other the way I wanted them to when I worked on them. So, I have "cut them off." My baskets will be different from the pattern.

I like the way the quilt is supposed to be put together, but it's not big enough for me. So, I'm thinking about adding a border around the baskets, that will be scraps, just like the blocks that go between the blocks. That way I can add a few inches to the quilt. I'm hoping that will make the quilt a little bigger and can be used on a bed. I'll try it out on paper to see if it will work.

This week is going to be a busy week. I'm hoping to get some applique done, but not sure how much will be done. Hoping it will work out. Borrowed mom's light box, but she forgot the cords that go with it, so will have to go get them this week. Good thing I have PT on Wednesday. Mom's off to the Seabeck retreat in the morning, so will visit with dad before I go to PT.

May we all be Happy Quilting!

Not Much Happening Here.

Today was like most Saturdays. Patrick wanted to go out and we did. I did get a little bit on the afghan done. Not quiet three rows, but every row helps.

I'm sitting here watching the news. I have comments I'd love to say, but this blog is for my projects and not for my opinions on politics.

I did get 3 more baskets basted onto my fabric for the Bountiful Baskets.  I hope to get started on the flowers that go in the baskets. I am hoping to mark the other blocks for basting as well. so far it's going pretty fast. I'm surprised at how "easy" or quick it is to do the blocks. It's an awesome size to take with me when at appointments. I have an appointment on Wednesday for Physical Therapy. Mom is leaving Monday for the TAS Retreat up in Seabeck. I quit going a year ago because person differences. I just hope TAS can overcome the problems, but I'm not seeing that happen. If one person would get off the board, I'd go back in a shot. I really like what TAS is all about. Right now, I can't encourage anyone to join until things are better.

Things are looking up, I'm finding more things to do. I'm still having trouble with my shoulder. It was a pain in the arm last night. I couldn't sleep worth squat. As I type this, my hubby is snoring next to me, so guess he didn't get anymore sleep then I did last night. Shame he's such a light sleeper! lol

I'm looking forward to working on more blocks tonight. I didn't take photos like I usually do. I'll have photos tomorrow.

Thank you to those of you that +1 me. I'm surprised to see I have one every day. Thank  you for checking out my crazy life!

Happy Quilting!

Friendship Blocks Done

Today was a pretty good day. I washed a few things. I even re-potted a few plants in the house.

I killed a few off over the winter. lol - Part of that is my fault and the other is the lighting in the room I had them in.

I like these plants, so I decided to put this one in the cup and let it start all over again.

While I was chatting with my cousin and roomy for the retreat, I sent her this photo telling her she was getting them for the Quilts of Valor quilts. I can't decide what to do with them, and really don't want one next to the other - type of a - quilt. So, I decided I would give them to her and we can figure out what to do with them for QOV quilts.

I've had this fabric FOREVER and have decided I would make a QOV quilt out of them as well. I'll take it over to her place next week and we can talk about what we will do with them. I do want to do a quilt for my neighbor and my father, so I will make a few extra tops to make up for the ones I want to give away.

I told her to keep the little scraps of red and blue for me. She said she has been. lol  I'm hoping to get them so I can start working on this block. I think the scraps she has will be perfect for the fire crackers in this block. This is another one of P3 Design quilts.

While I was trying to remember where I put that pattern, I was checking out my other projects. It didn't take long for me to get bored down there, and I came upstairs to vacuum. lol

I pulled out my blocks to work with and I'm thrilled to say, I'm done.

This one goes to Betty. And I'm so glad to have it done.

This one is for my Thursday group, and I've got a few days to spare. I'm thrilled it's finally done! I have been having some trouble figuring out what to do for our block. Now that I have, I'm not sure if I really like it or not.

Now I can get back to my projects. I'm hoping to get moving on the baskets, and try to get up to the currant blocks. I also want to work with my cousin on getting an eagle block done for the QOV. I'm going to teach her how to do applique. I need to borrow mom's light box and I'll take freezer paper with me as well. I'll teach her both methods. She'll have fun, I hope! lol

I haven't been working on the afghan, but will try and get working on that this weekend. I need to get it done by the first part of the month. The baby is due at the end of the month - a day before my grandmother's birthday. I would be awesome if she arrives on grandma Taylor's birthday. What are the odds?!

I was checking out some of my books.

And found a couple that I liked. I did find a few blocks that are named differently now. I did the Enigma Star and found that it was named something completely different years ago. This block looks easy and I'm thinking of doing it for QOV blocks. It looks simple enough. Like starting a log cabin or a step to the chapel block. Of course, looks good on paper, just didn't get far with that either. Looking isn't doing.....lol  I seem to look through books, think about one pattern, then the next, and yet not deciding which one I want. Then when I finally get to the deciding part, I'm not ready to cut out the fabric. After thinking about it more, I can't seem to decide if that pattern is the one I REALLY want to do or not. Oh, and let's not forget about the deciding on fabric part. I don't know which is easier, the part of knowing what fabrics I'm going to use, or the part about what pattern to use. Not good. Now, I have the fabric, just want a pattern - EVEN THOUGH I could just do stars. Stars are easy enough, so what's the problem?! I'm the problem. I need that "oh WOW" factor to get started. OR I just need to think about it for a few days, and then before one knows it, I'm sitting in front of the machine, sewing blocks together. Go figure. Can't figure out why I have to make it so complicated. Like my cousin said, "that's because you are from the smart side of the family!" Nope, that's not it.

Happy Quilting!

A "Not Planned Day"

Today was one of those days, it was a good thing I didn't plan it. I started itching last night and through the morning. When I woke up and showered I saw a wonderful rash going. So, I made an appointment to the doctors, and I have an infection. It's not the prettiest infection, and it is contagious, so I'm staying home for a few days. I went to my appointment at 10 am and would you believe I didn't see the doctor till about 11:15. Not my best day, but I behaved and was calm. I could have throw a fit, but I decided I better not, and would just play on my phone. The worst part about all this - no clue where I picked it up!! No one I know has it, but I had to have be around someone who had it. UGH, UGH, UGH!

So, feeling sorry for myself, I played games. I'm not at the point of - "suck it up and clear it up." Lets get this over with and let me move on! Hopefully tomorrow I will be in a better mind set and be back to being Happy Quilting!

Day of Applique

The day started out early and went really well. I started the laundry to get it caught up again. After that, I wasted some time playing games. After that, it was a busy day.

Before I talk about today, I thought I would show everyone how far I've gotten on the baby afghan. I was a little off in a couple areas, but I fixed that. I worked really hard on getting a lot done last night, that my shoulder hurt all night last night. I need to give it a break for about a day or two before I work on it again.

Now back to today. I had a quiet day, with Charlie. I was able to get moving on the blocks I really, really want to get done.

I finished the flower and the leaves on this side. I need to add the circle in the middle of the flower and then I'll have this part done. I'm looking forward to being done with this block.

I had the same problem with the flower on this block that I had on the other one. As I looked the block over, I realized it needed a lot more leaves. So, I added the two above and decided to add another one on this side. I need to finish this leaf, and then I can do the circle on the flower. Once that's done, I think I will call it good.

Not real crazy about the way it looks right now, and may still add another leaf on the right side. I'm not liking the way the leaves look, but it doesn't look too bad. I think I will add another leaf, I'm thinking as I type this. lol

I'm hoping to get it done tomorrow. The block for the group will be done tomorrow as well. Then I can get working on my other baskets and my Baltimore Liberty blocks again.

I was chatting with my roomy for the Retreat today and I'm thinking of making some star blocks for the QOV quilts. I want to do at least one if not two at the retreat this year. I'm also hoping to put together some other blocks as well. I may pull out the butterfly blocks that are done and figure out what I want to do on that one as well. Then there is Katt's black and white quilt she wants. So, I will cut out more black and white squares for her to look over. There I go again, thinking of WAY TOO many projects. I seriously need to get thinking of one thing and work on one thing only! Yea, right, don't think that is going to work. My mind keeps going a hundred miles an hour of the different projects I have going! I need to finish them all!! Yea, right, don't see that happening either......maybe. Think positive.....I can do this.....one project at a time.....or maybe not, or maybe it will. Oh, crap, I'll figure this out later.

Yep, that's the way my mind works. I'm not planning on finishing the blocks tomorrow, because we all know what happens when I plan things, but I can hope. In the meantime, Happy Quilting!

Rainy Day....Quilt Day

Today was off and on with the rain. I walked up to a neighbors to enjoy a quilt day with my mother's Tuesday group. They meet every week too. Since I was asked to join them, I decided I would stay home and walk up to the neighbors instead of going into town to see what my group was up to. It felt good to stay home today. Wasn't really in the mood to be running around all over town. Guess I've been a little "bummed" today too, because I was thinking of my Facebook friend that passed. It gets hard going into a game that she would chat with me in, and not find her there. Oh, well.

While I was up at the neighbors (had to climb a little hill to get there) I worked on my applique. I just love her house! She's got the best view from her living room. If I had the money to buy her house, I would. She's got it up for sale now.

I took my floss up with me and outlined the flower in embroidery. I then added the center to make it look like a good flower.

I also finished the flower on this block.

And finished the last petal on this block. Now I need to do the centerpiece.

I need to add a couple leaves on these stems. I haven't decided which ones yet.

While I was waiting to leave, I started working on this basket. I was able to get 3/4 of it done.  I do need to do the handle area next. I've got a lot of baskets ready to be done. I need to start marking the March group of baskets.

While I was with the group and after I got home, my retreat roomy and I were texting each other. We were talking about what we are planning to do at the retreat. I'm thinking I will work on a couple Quilt of Valor quilts. I would like to do one for my cribbage partner, and I would like to do one for my dad. But I would also like to do one for other military members as well. I think I will work on some star blocks before I go, and that will give me something to put together when I get there. Now, remember, this is ME, the one that doesn't like to sew on the machine. I do okay once a year, but don't expect a miracle. I want to do an Eagle applique as well.

Want to, need to, interested in - so where do I go from here?! UGH

I've been working on the baby afghan as well. It's getting closer to being done. I'll keep going on it, and even though I want to do applique tonight, I will do the afghan instead. I worked on it last night while watching Dancing with the Stars. I wasn't too thrilled with DWTS last night. They must be hurting for celebrities because they sure aren't getting any good ones. I'll be busy trying to be Happy Quilting!

Enjoying Embroidery Today

Patrick went golfing and I got a few things done before Sandy came over. We decided to get together today even though the others couldn'...
