Went To The Playhouse

 Today, we started with the usual Sunday morning. I got a few things done. 

I played for a bit before we headed to the playhouse to see Heckle & Jeckle. 

It was a different kind of play. I never read the book or saw the movie. I wasn't that thrilled in the first 10 minutes of the play and wondered how long it would be. It's a musical, so it went on for a while. I enjoyed some of the music, but it wasn't my kind of play. They did an awesome job of acting. The background, though, didn't make sense to me. Scaffolding was weird to have here. I think I would have had something else there. When it was over, I felt like it was too long. It made sense as we went along, but still not my kinda play. At least we were out to enjoy something today. I wonder if we should try Olympia one of these days. Since they sell season tickets, it's harder to get seats you want, and to their favor its sales a lot of tickets. I just wish they didn't sell the best seats to all ticket holders.  It would be nice to be able to try and get some of the nicer seats. But then if I paid for the year, I would want the best seats. I just can't schedule the days I can attend that far ahead. 

We came home and I had to cut batting and backing for 2 quilts. I need to take them to Colleen tomorrow. Plus, I need to go to the fair to get a form to fill out about the post office not delivering my check. Informed Delivery stated I was supposed to receive it on Tuesday. That and a letter from BE. Neither one has arrived. I sent a message to the post office, and they haven't even asked me about it. I sent 2 messages and then I got 2 surveys' asking me about it. I told them I never got a message or was contacted by the post office. I'm still waiting for the check and letter to come in. I checked informed delivery yesterday and there was a post card we didn't receive as well. I didn't care about the post card, but I have noticed some of our mail isn't coming to the house. 

I did ask about the round robin stuff. I found out because Canada is striking with the postal service, that my Round Robin in stuck at the post office. It's been there for almost a month. So, we can't send my piece around to be worked on. It's almost too funny about this round robin. Everything thing that can go wrong has gone wrong. I'm just going to keep going with what I get. The next one should be coming pretty soon too. All I can do is laugh! 

Unfortunately, today wasn't a day I would like to say was Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Enjoying The Day, Then Back To The Fair

 Today, another day. it was the usual Sunday morning where we clean up and make the house look good. At least that's what I hope. Had to get the laundry going, then get the cat litter taken care of. I decided we need another mat for the little box area. I ordered it today. Trouble with that is it won't be here for about a week. Patrick got the bathrooms done and I worked on the kitchen. 

When all that was done, I went downstairs and cut batting and backing for 3 quilts. I had 2 battings already cut, so it was mostly the backing. Then got those washed for the quilters. I need to add them to the bags and mark the bags where they are going. I will need to add a border to the quilt we got in, because it's a hair short. I hope they don't mind. OR I may just leave it alone and get it ready to quilt. I was setting up the panel quilt to work on. Still thinking about it right now. Will get Patrick's help and get it done. Then my nephews needs to be done. 

We had supper early today. I had to leave by 4 pm. I ended up driving to moms to drop off her glasses she left in the car. Didn't say much, just dropped off the glasses. When I set them on the table, there were 2 other pairs there as well. She didn't need them that fast, I'm thinking. 

Got to the fair around 4:30 pm. Sat with Colleen and she was working on some blocks. I need to check out all the blocks that are coordinated to see if we have a quilt out of them or not. May have to make more that will work with it. I will wait and see. Might be able to use them in Jeremy's quilts. That's for another day. Colleen stayed till about 5:30 and left. I hung around because I needed to get the quilts for QOV. I didn't have to wait on any quilts that were entered. I helped for about an hour and a half to get the quilts all folded. People were that at waiting to get in for their quilts. They were running behind, but we go them folded before I left. I told Kathleen if I didn't have to deliver Bill's quilt I would have stayed. Bill Jones won the raffle quilt, and he wanted mom to get it for him. They told him I was there, and I could get it to him. So, when I left with all my stuff, I had to drive back over to give Bill his quilt. He's 2 doors down from mom. I met his son who was there. They called it an early night because Georgia has surgery tomorrow. Mom told me it was Tuesday, and their son said it was, but was able to get in tomorrow.  Felt bad about ringing the doorbell when I heard that. Their son seems nice. 

Came home and put everything away that I could for now. I will do the rest tomorrow. I'm beat! Working the fair can ware you out! And I was only there about 4 hours. UGH

Spent The Morning At The Fair

This morning, Patrick went golfing and I left early for gas and a Starbucks drink. Then headed to the fairgrounds. 

I arrived at the fairgrounds early. I decided to pay the $6 to get in. I have a couple tickets away I shouldn't have and decided to just pay the $6. Nancy was just in front of me when I got there. We were early compared to everyone else. It was nice, as we had plenty of time to get ready. I pulled out my feather weight sewing machine to work on some 9-patches. 

Nancy did the ironing, and I sewed the blocks. I think I got about 6 full blocks done. First, I had trouble with the tension, so worked on that. Even Kathleen came to help me. It took a bit, but we got it done. Then about the time Tim and Debbie showed up for the next section, the machine died. I couldn't get the foot petal to work. I may have to look for another one that will work. Chuck said he would look it over and see what he could do for me. Hopefully it's an easy fix. 

I picked up 2 pretzels on the way home. Patrick didn't want to do Panda, so we didn't. I feel bad about not going, but I'm hoping with all the advertising we did at the fair, we got a good amount of money. My little bit wouldn't matter that much. 

Came home and entered the 3 veterans that signed up. One was from FL, so we won't get that one. It will be interesting as to how many of them come back from the fair. Val marked the with an "F" so we can see how many we get back. We gave out a lot. I forgot to give out the flyer for Panda. 

Once I had that done, I pulled out my WILTZIUS family papers and sent them to Nate. Then I got busy on some pages I found while looking through the files. I started adding the information on the family from that. Then it was National News, so I called it done then. 

When I sat down, I pulled out my tablet and decided to play my games. I am getting caught up. 

I wish I had taken a photo of what I was doing. I decided to use all the same fabric and put 9-patches together, so that it runs together better. 

Debbie called to say she talked to the guy we gave a quilt to that is from Chehalis Tribe. We will work with him on getting the tribe involved. She then told me the gals there came and got the blocks I was working on and started putting them together. I'm happy they did. We should get more done faster that way. lol 

After a day I had, I'm just glad it was easy to be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Fair Day For Me

This morning, Patrick had a few things to do, so I played for a bit before I had to head out to the fair. 

I left a little early to go to Safeway for something to eat later. Then I headed to the fair and was early. Chatted with Kathleen and waited for Geralyn and Sandy to show. I visited with mom and Georgie as well. They were manning the QOV booth. OMG those two are driving me crazy! They came up with a new pattern and talked about how to do it. The 9 patches are just going to be mixed up. I don't know what to think of their ideas. But I'm going along with it. 

We were there for demos. We demo'd Brazilian Embroidery and had a lot of people interested in joining us! I'm happy about that. We need more people to keep going. It was 2-6 pm and made for a long day. I had a gal come to the booth when it was time to close up. So, we worked on a demo for her. Then Sandy and I walked the fair. It was busy today! I haven't seen that fair that busy in YEARS! This one must have got the interest of the people. Cost is only $6 and each day is half price for different groups. Today was for seniors, but there were more than seniors showing up. 

 Connie Taylor got Champion Reserve. 

Geralyn got Grand Champion. This is a beautiful quilt!

I checked out the Grange building and the quilts we loaned them. This is awesome! Pictures of their veterans! I liked how it came out!

We even checked out the children's art work. That is always fun! Good job! 

So, today working on demos kept me Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Physical Therapy And Lazy

What to do, what to do!! I will talk about that in a bit. 

I was woken up by the ponding of nails going into the roof. Patrick had the roof redone today on the garage. They arrived around 5 am to get started and it was nice they didn't start making a ton of noise till 7:30 am. I got up and was waiting on Val. 

Val stopped a few minutes before I had to leave for physical therapy. She picked up the museum's information and the travel iron I forgot to take to the fair. She was all set. 

I left shortly after. I had to get to physical therapy and was happy to see the pain in my ankle is going away. She worked it pretty hard today and it wasn't as painful as it was in the past couple weeks. 

Then I headed home by the way of Dutch Brothers for iced drinks. I got Patrick a peach iced tea and my usual iced chai tea. Then I went and got the car washed. 

Headed home. Patrick and I watched a show on TV. I decided to try and get some stitching done. 

 As much as I would love to lie and say I got over 500 stitches done, I'm lucky if I got 100 stitches done. But then every little bit helps. 

I have stuff ready for the demo's tomorrow for Brazilian Embroidery. Val called to let me know mom didn't show up for her post. So I had to call and remind her - an hour later - that she was do at the fair. Then I worked on letting her know she is working at the fair tomorrow morning. Georgie and her really know how to get confused on stuff. I drives me crazy. So, I had to get them straight on going in the morning tomorrow and not in the afternoon since that is full. I pretty much want to pull my hair out, but then I don't have enough hair as it is right now. 

Debbie stopped by for her tickets to the fair. We chatted for a good hour if not more. My phone went off the whole time I was with Debbie, so Patrick came down to tell me my phone was driving him crazy. It was mom and Kathleen Ament. I called them both back. UGH This is the point where I am scattered because of keeping everyone on task. Mom keeps getting her days messed up. Georgie does the same. I have to make sure everyone knows when they are working at the fair. Then I have to figure out when I will go back and get all the stuff I took to the fair. That is usually Sunday night. OR Monday morning. I will wait and see which day I will be able to go. 

What to do, what to do! Do I work on my cross stitching, do I finish up the quilt top, do I wait till the 10 tops that are coming in get here? What to do, What to do! I need to get started on the ornaments for this year. I need to get the gift card to Colleen for Carol. I need to........I need to.......I need to.......  Then I sit in my chair and play games, because it's easier to get lost in a game then it is to figure out what I NEED to do. 

It turned 103* today. It's so hot, I don't WANT to do anything! With all the stuff going on, it's really not like Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Judging At The Fair Gounds

I was out the door by 8:30 am to get to the fairgrounds. My judging time was 9 am. Rita was judging with me and we had to wait to get started. Deanna needed to do the running to get us going. We ended up starting late, I believe. 

Deanna was running around getting the quilts and making sure we had everything we needed. Tables were set up for judging. Rita and I worked on over 70 quilts. 

They stopped for lunch, then we got back to it. We didn't get done till 7 pm with all the quilt judging. I was thrilled to see that Geralyn got Grand Champion, and I thought she got the reserve as well, but that was actually Connie Taylor's quilt. 

Once they were judged they were stacked up. I was disappointed this year. I had to give out so many red ribbons, I felt so bad about that. But honestly, they were not done well. I did give a white ribbon out and rarely do I do that. 

Bindings this year were awful! I couldn't believe how badly the machine stitched bindings were! I was shocked at how badly the corners were done. Too bad David isn't around anymore, because he taught binding and the quilts were so much better for it. This time I think we got a lot of new quilters, and some of their stuff was beautiful, except for the bindings or they didn't square up their piece. So, there really wasn't much in the way of "great" quilts. Except for Geralyn's and Connie's. 

I didn't make it home till 7:30 pm and my back and foot are KILLING me. I have PT tomorrow and I hope I can walk on my leg! UGH. 

I don't think what I did today counts towards Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Fair Day

This morning, I was up early getting ready for the fair. I realized I had forgotten a few things. I also forgot to get back with Sandy on having BE stuff there from our group. I texted Sandy V last night to make sure she got her tickets. 

I started out with sending Bryan a family report on the ancestors of the Matheson side. I only gave him 5 generations, because it goes a lot longer than 16 pages otherwise. He will review and fix what needs to be fixed. I will get with him when we get back. I was lucky at the post office. No one was there. I did run into Rose, and we chatted. She said she's worried about Harris becoming President. I told her I was worried Trump would take away our rights to vote. She about came out of her car to tell me to be careful, Harris would do....... I was a little shocked at how she was pushing me for Trump. Guess that's why I don't talk politic to anyone. It's gotten out of hand. 

Went to Sandy's work to pick up the stuff for BE. Then headed to the fair. I was surprised they didn't take my ticket or my parking ticket. It was weird. I still have tickets and will give them away tomorrow if someone wants them. 

I checked out my beading. The parrot birds got the Superintend ribbon. I was shocked. I thanked Kathleen for that. 

I can understand why this one only got a blue. It's a little on the dull side. But they aren't supposed to judge on that. Really was surprised on the judging because of the ornament. 

My ornament got the division, and I was surprised. It wasn't as much work as the wall hanging birds. I'm thrilled either way. Just surprised me though. Now I have more ribbons to add to the ones I have downstairs. I like the big ribbons over the smaller ribbons. lol 

Sandy V and I chatted and worked on our pieces. We had a few people stop and look at our work. It was fun to see the surprise in some people faces with the bonsi tree I took. Still need to finish that and I need to get with Debbie Goff to see if she would help me with the flowers. 

I worked on my rose pattern. I really am not crazy about this one. The buttonhole stitches were taken out several times. I finally and it lay the way I wanted to. I must have done it three times before I got it to look suitable. Sill not thrilled with this one. I'm almost thinking of taking it out and doing it my way to get the same affect. I may yet. 

I picked up a cone dog, soft pretzel and cotton candy. Brought them home. I had the cone dog, and Patrick ate the soft pretzel. I was thrilled to see him eat that. He has been doing sugar more than anything and to see him eat the pretzel, warmed my heart. He needed to eat it. He's also been eating the cotton candy. I'm just glad I found something he was hungry for. Lately he isn't hungry for anything. 

Came home and played my game till my tablet ran low. Then I got to work on the ornament piece. I was able to get a good 20 rows done. I didn't take a photo but will tomorrow. Heading over to moms tomorrow. I need to leave early and go to Debbie's. Then come home. Mom won't be happy, but it is what it is. At least today I was able to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Judging All Day

I was up early this morning. I needed to be ready to leave by 8:30 am. I was about to get ready to leave when Patrick decided to get up and shower. So, I waited, and waited, and waited. I finally went into the bathroom while he was getting out. Got a dirty look from him and a smart comment, "Am I in your way?" I replied, "Yes, I need to get ready to leave." That shut him up. He keeps doing that to me. I have 15 mins to get ready, and that's when he goes into the shower. Taking his dear sweet time. I should go in there and throw cold water on him! - But I won't. lol 

I was at the Fair by 9 am when I was supposed to be there. I judged the embroidery or "stitchery" and was really happy with the choices I made. I was done around noon. We had a potluck lunch. Afterwards I helped with the table setting judging. They had 11 tables that were set. It was fun working on that. I also helped pick the best of show in quilting. I did find out my ornament was best of Division and the other 2 beaded pictures were blue ribbons. I'm happy with that. By the time I was done, I called Patrick and found out he wanted donuts for supper. So, I went to Centralia and picked out a few donuts for him. I also got a piece of fried chicken and some potato wedges. Came home and ate. 

I was sitting in my chair playing and found I was falling asleep. So, I think it's going to be an early night for me. I called Ron and told him it's 97 degrees at 7:30 pm and I'm not walking tonight. I'll walk with him tomorrow. 

It's been a long day and I'm about done. I haven't had the chance to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

From One Thing To Another

 This morning I was up earlier than usual. I had too much to do. After getting ready, I had to take all the stuff out to the car. My list of things to do was long. 

First I had to hit the bank, next thing I off to Rite Aid, then Phil's. Once that was done I headed to McD's for coffee for both Sandy and Cindy. Next stop was to the fair to pick up 5 quilts. I got there to find Chuck asking me for 2 more forms to fill out for QOV. Gave them to him and took my quilts along with my QOV stuff I left behind on Saturday. 

Of course I had to stop at "The Cup" to get me some Chai Tea. I finally arrived at the grange. Cindy was there first. Sandy came later and Sandy 2 came shortly after. We had a good chat and worked on some stuff. I didn't get a lot done. I chatted more than usual. 

I worked on the growth in the bowl. I have to add the yellow 3D flowers to it. Then I can go and do beads in the bowl. I need to do that part last. I wanted to work on the rose I took with me to MI but I didn't have the padding I needed to put on it. So, I decided to work on the bonsai tree instead. My class will start soon, so I will have another project that needs attention. 

Connie asked if I was still on today. Texted that I was on my way. I left embroidery at 12:45 pm.  Went to Connie's to pick up a quilt. She had one that needed quilting. Since she's having knee surgery on Monday, she is getting ready for it. The quilt I had for her was going to Debbie instead. Left her place and headed to Safeway for rolls. Once that was done, I headed to moms. 

Arrived at mom and unloaded my car with all her stuff. Then I picked up a box of fabric that Judy Rambo dropped off for me. I stayed to chat to see how it went yesterday, but she didn't say much. I would ask if she talked to someone, and she changed the subject. So, I really don't know how the reunion went. At that point, I was glad we didn't go. 

Headed home by stopping at Dutch Brothers for tea and coffee. Since it was double points day, I decided to get Patrick a coffee. 

Came home and started folding the quilts to go to the museum. I also kept the embroidery quilt mom made. It was mine after all. lol 

Patrick pulled veggies from the garden. So, I shredded the zucchini and bagged it in freezer bags. While I was doing that Debbie came over. We chatted for a good hour. Plus I gave her back the ship panels to work on. We have a LOT of people that want those panel quilts that served in the Navy. She brought her pattern she's going to make for her and Jim. It's a pattern that is a pain to figure out. It has way too much fabric. There is a lot of waste. She's going to look for a better pattern. 

After she left and supper was over, I pulled out a quilt to get the label on. We counted 9 quilts that need labels. 

This is Kristi's quilt that was hanging at the fair. So, I finally got the label on it and it's headed to the museum on Thursday. 

I added the label to this. Now I'm down to 7 quilts that need labels. Good thing I worked on those last week! 

I ended up - even after walking for 45 minutes - going from one thing to another and still finding time to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Another Day At The Fair

 This morning Derek and Kylee headed out to meet the rest of the family in Woodinville. They left around about 8:15 am. It was nice to see them. 

After they left I was able to start my day. I exercised and then waited to see if Ron was outside. When he didn't show up around 10:30 am, I headed out to walk. I did 2 loops till he came out to join me. We then did 7 loops. 

By the time I got back in the house it was almost one o'clock. I had started laundry before I left. Then when I got in the house, I got lunch. I needed to leave around 1:15 pm at the latest. I emptied the dishwasher and cleaned the kitchen sink. Then I was ready to leave. I was out the door around 1:15pm Took the tickets to Teri and Scott across the street before I headed out. I had a couple extra tickets and knew Patrick didn't want to go. 

I drove around the back area. I had trouble getting to the parking lot because of the big wheels. I parked in a place I wasn't happy about. So, when the big wheels quieted down, I went out and moved the car. I was there with Colleen. She's a sweetheart! We chatted. Cindy (state coordinator) left her card. She showed up in the morning even when I told her I worked 2-6. I called her and we chatted. She said she had some good comments about our group. Apparently, someone told her that we work well with the Veterans Memorial Museum by working with each other. They told her how well we work with the museum. I thought that was awesome! Maybe she'll write it up in the state information she sends out each month. 

We got a couple more applications. We must have passed out 100 applications, so it will be interesting to see how many come in. 

Colleen and I worked some well that we didn't realize it was 6:30 pm before we knew it. We closed up and I brought everything home. She stayed to get something to eat. I came home to hear all about Patrick golf tournament. He buried so bad on the back of his neck that he won't be golfing for a few days. Those pills he has tells him to try and stay out the sun. 

I took care of a couple things and now I'm just playing on the tablet. It's wasn't a day to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Day Of Fair Going And Mini Family Reunion

 Yesterday I was up before the crack of dawn! Then headed over to the Motel in town to meet up with the Twin Cities Rotary. They were very kind and are helping us with Quilts of Valor. We were gifted $1,000 which will go a long way. We were shocked and pleased at the same time!

Then we headed to Denny's for breakfast. There we sat and chatted. Debbie left early because she had to get home. Connie and I still had an hour and a half before we were to be at the fair. Our shift was 10-2. Around noon my nephew and his family came and met up with me. I took a break, and we got some garlic fries to sit and enjoy. It wasn't as good as the stuff at the games in Seattle but it was good. Then I headed back into work. One that was over, I went looking for them again. They were just getting done with the carnival area. We walked around and they headed back to moms. I went looking for my corn dog! I couldn't find a corn dog place and it drove me crazy. What Fair doesn't have a corn dog!! I went to get Patrick his cotton candy and they had corn dogs!! So, I bought both - $20!! Oh, well. The corn dog was GOOD! May have to get one today too!! lol 

I did get about 4 rows done. The funny part is that my great niece fell in love with my beaded ornament that mom had. She wants one. I told her I was doing angels now.  Guess I need to do 2 more sets. lol 

Left around 3:00 pm and headed home. Patrick was waiting on me. I was able to take a breath before we were heading to moms. It was crowded with family. More family then I'm used to. Mostly nieces and nephews. There were 18 of us all together and the table was packed. 

We stayed till around 7 pm and then had my niece and her husband (Kylee and Derek) go to the Tesla pump station to get the power up. Then they followed us home. We chatted for awhile and they spent the night downstairs. 

The day was busy and went fast. I tried to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Spending The Afternoon At The SWW Fair

 This morning we were up. I wanted to go back to sleep but couldn't. So I DRAGGED myself out of bed. lol 

I was playing on the tablet and waiting to do my exercises. Patrick came in the house to let me know Ron was waiting for me to come and walk. I walked out there, and we got the full 7 laps in. I told him I would see him on Saturday since I have to be at the Lewis County Rotary meeting at 7 am. Then I have to be at the fair by 10 am. Connie and I will stop and get breakfast at McD's and then head to the fair. 

After walking with Ron, I had to get moving and go to my massage therapist. I had a different gal, and I wasn't done till 12:30 pm. I had lunch and then Patrick took me to the gate at the fair. He wasn't coming in and I didn't really want to park at the fair. I will tomorrow though. I arrived early for my 2-6 pm shift. Colleen was there chatting with mom. I was with mom for this shift. She went early to let Hildi go home to her husband. He's going down hill. I'm thinking it won't be much longer and he will pass. I feel for Hildi and Chuck. I know Chuck wants to stick around, but his heart won't let him. 

So, I let Colleen go home. Brother Patrick and sister in law Chris was walking around the fairgrounds. He came with scones which he had for all of us. I went out and ate my scone with them outside the building. It was hot today but not like yesterday. We had a good chat and I went back in. They were off again. Around 3:00 pm they came back in. They were sweating! Chris can't take the heat any more than I can! A few people came in and we chatted. One of mom clients from 30 years ago showed up. She introduced Patrickand Chris, then I ended up introducing myself. 

About 3:30 pm Patrick and Chris decided to head home. Mom said she had to go too. "You don't mind, do you?" I told her to get going. I stayed till 5:50 pm when Patrick came to get me after his meeting. Worked out. The traffic in the building was slow. Around 4 pm they moved the Marine's tent because they were plugging the area where one needed to go to get to the building. I gave out 2 applications. We are doing pretty well so far. Not a lot of applications are staying with us. One gal will probably copy the forms for her family. It will be fun to see how many of the applications came back to me. Time will tell. 

After mom and them left, I pulled out my beading and got to work. 

I was able to do all of this much. lol It's a start. I had trouble starting it for some reason. Once I did then I was able to get moving. Kathleen Ament and I chatted about the quilts. We found a couple quilts that shouldn't have gotten the blue ribbon that mom gave them. I looked. Mom is slipping on her judging. I don't agree with their choices of Grand Champion and Champion. Kathleen is going to change up the judges and get them moving around in different areas. Some have judge the same things for years and they need to be mixed up a little. 

Mom told me I could pick up the quilt when I pick up our QOV quilts. I told her I would. That way it's coming to me and I don't have to wait on mom to give it to me. I thought the machine embroidery quilt should have gotten Grand or Champion. Kathleen and I agreed on that one. I will take a photo tomorrow and show it off. It's really pretty. 

Patrick picked me up at 6 pm. We headed home. I didn't get anything to eat, but with the heat, I really didn't want anything. So, when we got home we had an ice bar. 😍 It was good!!

The way my day stated I wouldn't have been able to stitch. But as it turned out, I was Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Judging Day

 This morning I was up and stop to see Phil. Then I headed to Dutch Brother's to get my tea for a long day. I arrived early at the fair. 

My judging was for embroidery. I only had about 20 pieces to judge. There was this really pretty Santa picture that was a good foot in length. It was framed and well done. The problem with all the cross stitch pieces was that the crosses were not crossed in the same direction. I docked several of the pieces because of that. They were well done and really pretty too. I hope in the future they fix that. 

After that, I went to help out in the crochet area. The gal that has been doing it for several years is a lot faster than I am. I did do some of the Afghans. I did give out a couple white ribbons, but I felt bad about it. Yet, if they were not up to standards, I had to do it. Once we got all that done, I was sent over to judge quilt blocks. I also had to judge one quilt that both the judges knew who made it. I didn't - till after. Mom was trying to get me to judge it better than I thought it was. I gave it a red and I think mom wanted me to give it a blue. I should have given a white, but listened to what mom had to say. She made the comment that I would have to answer to the maker. (One of our quilters) I told her I didn't have a problem with that. 

I was doing the block while mom was working on the quilts. She's the one in the pink. Carmen is the one to the left. Trouble with mom is that she likes to chat. So, they were (Nancy included) chatting about the quilts she was doing. I told Kathleen she needed to let them know they aren't supposed to talk to mom while she judges. I think it's time mom quit judging because she's been talking about the quilts with the helpers. AND the helpers tell her what they think. That's a no-no. 

The pile behind mom is of the knitting and crocheting. There was a LOT of them. 

I finally got out of there by 4:30 pm so I could go to the vets for meds. Then mom called around 6:30 pm to say she finally made it home. They had 176 quilts to judge and there was 2 of them. 

I stopped at the vets and then Phils. It was good to see him. Came home and found my beads for the month. I will take a photo tomorrow and post it. I love the colors. 

As much as I would like to say I was busy stitching, I can't. I was judging and beat by the time I got home. Which means today was not a day for Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Fun, Busy Day!

 This morning bright and early, we headed to Nashville were we walked the streets.  I picked a few things up on the way.

We stopped at the candy shop as well. Got dessert here. Then we headed to the Pickers shop. Not impressed! More of a tourist trap. Not even worth a photo.

We then headed to the cave. When we arrived they didn't have tours available.  So we checked out the shops. Then headed home. 

While watching "Black Widow " I  worked on my embroidery.  Now I am adding the white french knots. It has been fun to work on. I still have 2 more pieces to this. 

Traveling and embroidery,  who can ask for more?! Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Last Day At The Fair

Today Patrick headed off to golfing. I worked on my beading for a little bit before leaving. I started seaming the seam to the front. It's like a zipper. 

I headed over to the fair. Ended up in the farthest part of the parking lot. So, I'm taking a bag that isn't that heavy into the fair. Of course that is going to be heaver when I leave! I set up the station for our QOV honors.

We even had the photo frame going. It went well today. I hung around after to help with closing things up. I help with taking stuff down. Then I collected my stuff. I won a container for floss, which I gave to Patrick since I have that already. He can use it out in the garage. I also got an embroidery pattern, but it's not one I want to do, so will give it to someone who will. I checked my stuff and I got docked for the framing - the embroidery work was all done right. That make me fell good. I will work on the backs a little better next time. 

I packed up all my stuff. Had to make two trips to the car. I took the tub of papers and the easel to the car. Then I moved the car 5 lines in to be closer - yet not that close - to the entrance. I then took the 2 heavy bags back to the car when I left. I have quilts to take to the museum as well as the easel and box of stuff. 

Finally made it home at 8:30 and I'm beat. Bet I sleep really good tonight! It wasn't one of those day of being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Working At The Fair

This morning Patrick was off to golfing. I got up and made a Blueberry Buckle. Once that was in the oven, I then mopped the floor and vacuumed. Got my laundry back on track as well. I was able to sit and work 1 row on the beads. 

When I finally had the chance to sit down and play games, Patrick got back home. We waited about 15 mins and headed out. We stopped and picked up a quilt at the church. Then it was off to the fair. Patrick dropped me off at the Senior Center where I could walk to the entrance. I had the box and my big bag with the stuff to use at the fair. 

I was there with Hildi. We set everything up and then I went looking for my stuff. My embroidery all got blue ribbons. My Wild birds got a blue and so did the ornament with the snowman. Before I found those, I was told to go to the front display and look around. I did, there were quilts among other things. THEN I saw my Santa's Flight there with the blue ribbon, Best of Class ribbon, and the Champion ribbon. WOW!

I was so surprised. I didn't expect that to win! Patrick picked out the right one to take. lol I'm so thrilled. I don't usually get the overall ribbon. 

Came home and watched TV with Patrick. Didn't get to work on anything. So, even one row counts as being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!
