I Do Believe I'm Becoming A Broken Record!

Best laid plans - that's my broken record.

Today started out waiting for my new washer and dryer to arrive. I went downstairs to get the backing and batting cut for Debbie. I also cut some blocks for mom to do stars on.  I contacted Debbie to let her know it was ready. She arrived around the same time as our washer and dryer. The washer went in pretty good. After all the trouble Patrick had yesterday, it made things easier. To a point.....

He then got to work on the dryer....cussing...and worked on it.....cussing....and worked on it. The hose in the back was being a pain in the rear. After about 4 hours, and 2 trips to the store, he decided we would leave for the store and get gas in the truck. We were going to loose the points for gas rewards. So, it was the gas station, hardware store,  post office, grocery store, and then moms. Dropped off another quilt for Ethel to bind. I also dropped off the blocks I cut this morning.

We came home and it was time to get supper started. He worked on the dryer again, and after about 30 mins it came together. Then I was able to get a load of laundry - well needed! - into the new washer. I forgot to put it on the sensor for loading the soap.....so I had to do the load over. Oh, well. At least I know it works. The dryer works great too. I was surprised at the vent. It's a folded vent that collects the lent into it. I have to unfold it and take the lent out. I'm now into 3 loads of laundry so far today. Would have been 4 but I didn't have the first load using soap. Oh, what fun!

Patrick was so worn out that he went to be at 8 pm! I'm still getting a few things done.

I did work a few rows on the last panel. Never fails. I just wasn't in the mood to work on it. I wanted to do something - pacing all night! I just couldn't sit and work on something. So, I played a game I haven't played in a very long time on FB. I enjoy playing it again. I may start playing it more. Who knows.

I've got laundry folded and ready to put away, but with Patrick in bed it's hard to get them in the drawers they belong. So, they will be sitting out in the living room till tomorrow. UGH.

While we were out, it was interesting to see about half the people were wearing masks. The hard part is that we have gotten 32 new cases in the last 2 weeks. Lewis County has gone back to "normal" and doesn't care. So, half of us are wearing masks and the other half don't care. Chances are those of us that wear the masks are the ones will probably get it. Okay, time to get off "politics" on this blog. I try to stay way from politics on here. I made a comment on IG and the gal deleted me. I guess I deserve it but we need to communicate and not ignore.

So, my plans today didn't happen. As I said, Best laid plans don't work for me. Okay, today was not a day for Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Life Had Other Plans

I guess I could have said, Patrick had other plans. Either way, it didn't work in my direction.

We were up and out the door to pick up Phil's order at Home Depot along with buying paint. After all that we went to Walmart - not my favorite place! We picked up a few things including a phone for the landline.

Came home and hooked up the phones. Then I worked on my watch. I had to get the instruction on line. Go Figure!! I had to ask "live chat" where to find them. That took a good 10 mins. It would be a heck of a lot easier if they put that in with the watch! Guess they want us to waste paper instead of them. Anyway, was working on that when Patrick yelled saying he needed help moving the dryer. That sucker is heavy! I helped but there was no way I was going to help him take it down the stairs. So, he went and got his dolly and pushed it down the steps. Then it was time to get the hoses off the spickets (sp). He tried everything to get it off the cold water. No luck. He even tried to use his small drill saw, with sparks flying. I loosened the fire extenqusier (sp?). I was worried he might start a fire. He was cussing up a storm over that. Took him an hour and then he took the fossett apart. (According the the spell check - my spelling is awful!) Then he headed to the store to get the part he needed to replace it. The good news is that it will be ready for tomorrow when the washer and dryer arrives.

While Patrick was gone, I worked on the first 10 rows of the last panel that needs to be done to finish up the ornament. --

Then he was busy working on the water system papers. The printer was running like crazy! I had to get the envelopes ready to send out the notices on the water. Of course I had to do my stamps and address labels. Of course, I needed more labels. I ended up typing the names and address on the labels all over again, because Avery didn't keep my saved labels. Ticked me off. So, I was typing all that up and getting them ready. Folded the information we are mailing out to everyone on the water system. He was cussing over that too because the printer was having troubles and jamming. I offered to fix it, but it's a "man thing" where he had to do it all himself. I gave up and left.

Then I got on my genealogy account. I want to order the membership for ancestry but not paying the price they are asking. Hoping it will go down this week or weekend. Really getting a few more members added to Patrick's family.

I guess I can be glad I was able to get a few stitches in. It's not exactly Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Did Gardening & More

You would not believe this day! I started out with cleaning the cat litter.

I actually went out to pull weeds around my asparagus! I hate weeding and while I was out there, I remembered how much my dad liked going out and weeding. I got a lot done. Now maybe my asparagus will grow! The weeds got so big that they wouldn't let the sun in. I'm hoping this will help.

Then I came back in the house and cleaned up the laundry room. Patrick is going to take the washer and dryer out. I had to make it easy for him. Trouble is my washer died the same day we went to buy the new washer and dryer. So now my laundry has grown since Patrick cleaned the bathrooms and we changed the sheets. I have more laundry then I care to have. I can't wait for the new washer and dryer to get here so I can get moving on getting the laundry under control. It won't be here till Tuesday. UGH

I gave up after that. I wanted to watch some TV. We ended up watching a quick movie and then another kids show. I thought the kids show was a movie, but it was more like an after school program. It wasn't bad, but the acting was not up to par. At least while I was watching them, I was able to work on my cross stitching.

It's closer to being done. I have a few more things to do, then I can do the side boarder. I know you can't see it, but I do have 2" of the boarder on the side. I finished the house and the frame work up on top. I need to do the leaves on the top and then finish the house on the side. There is a tree too.

=

I got up a couple times to find this in my chair.

I had to pick her up and put her in my lap. She didn't like that and went back to her chair under the table.

I didn't get my last panel on my beading done. I'll work on it later. At least I was able to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Volunteering At The Museum

This morning I was up and out the door. I stopped at Starbucks to get some tea and some yogurt with fruit. Then it was off to the museum.

I arrived to find Greg there. I was expecting Sam, but she didn't make it. I had my mask with me. I ware it half the time. When no one was there, I took it off. I also worked on my embroidery.

I got a few more stitches in on the bird. I need to work on the next color. I kept working it. I wanted to get more color in it. The more I added the more it puffed up, so that was a good thing. I'm still working on it. I like it.

Then about 2 pm we started getting people coming to set up for the car show at 4 pm.

I loved the cars that were coming in. It's fun to see the old cars. Dad would have loved this.

They had a band getting ready as well. I guess this becomes a big thing. There seemed to be close to 200 cars last week. This week, as I was leaving, the "Tiny House Production Crew" was pulling into the show. There was a tiny house behind the bus.

I went and took a photo of the plaque we had made for dad, my brothers, and my hubby. They still haven't put dad's photo up yet.

I came home and worked on my cross stitching. I was able to get more done. I'm going to get more done when I'm done with this blog. lol The house is coming along.

It turned out to be a busy day. At least it was a day of being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Just Enjoying The Day

This morning I was up and played for about an hour. Patrick left to go see his friends from work. They meet for coffee now that they are all retired. He said there were 4 of them today. When they first started out it was either 2 or 3 of them. Guess one more retired as well. The City of Chehalis is in trouble with all these guys retiring. Plus with the Corona-virus going on, they don't have the money to hire right now.

While he was gone, I enjoyed listening to my book and working on my beading. I got 1 and a half panels done today.

First I finished the other half of the moon panel. It's the one that will be next to Santa when it goes into an ornament.

Then the next panel was the "second" one. As you can see, 2 & 4 are the same. I next have to do the middle one - one more time. It's going fast. I love working on this. I'm not sure if I have all that I need to put this into an ornament, but I'm thinking I might. It will be fun to find out.

Then I decided to take a break from beading (even though I'm thinking of starting the snowman). I sat down to watch TV with Patrick. While I was watching the news, I got moving on my cross stitching.

I finished the date, the second gal, and got to work on the house. I'm starting to get the itch to finish this one. It's not my "norm" but it is a fun piece to work on. I am a little disappointed there isn't any outlining for this piece, but some pieces don't have outlines.

Patrick made some strawberry freezer jam today. It was fun working on my beading while he did the jam. We were chatting while we were working on our own thing. It was nice.

Oh, I forgot to show our visitor yesterday.

Patrick slept on the deck and our visitor slept in the back yard. He came in, and I went out a couple times because I decided to put the air fryer out there for supper to keep the heat out of the house. She didn't budge. It was so much fun watching her as she watched us. She was there a good 4 hours. Didn't both either one of us.

Today was another good day. Tomorrow I will be working out at the museum to help Sam out. She called asking me to sit with her at the museum. I'll take some quilts over and some embroidery to work on. It should be fun!

A good day to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Shopping and Beading

This morning we were out the door by 9 am. We headed to moms to head up to Olympia.

After picking mom up, we headed to Olympia and went to our favorite appliance center. We picked up a washer and dryer. It was amazing how quick it was to pick and purchase. We'll get them on Tuesday. Headed over to Sharon's to pick up 2 quilts for Debbie and the backing material. She showed me her beading! I loved the ornament she was working on. I will need to get the pattern! It's really pretty.

Then we headed over to Costco and got our purchases. Mom spent as much as we did. We were picking up for Phil and mom was buying some stuff for her friend. The van was pretty full. We dropped mom off on the way back. Stopped at Phil's to drop off his stuff and then to Safeway. My head was killing me by that time. Came home and had an Ensore. I was surprised at how quick the headache went away.

These was out on the deck. Love the roses!!

When all that was done, I sat and beaded. It was 3 pm by that time. But at least I was able to do some beading.

This is the 4th panel of the ornament. I'm a little over half way. The hills will start showing up. I'm hoping I can get it done tomorrow and do another one. I was able to get a good 42 rows done. It's coming along great.

Then it was quitting time. I was going to get my cross stitch out, but Patrick wants to go to bed early to read. I figure I can do that. I have some reading I would like to get done.

At least the day was a good day to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Enjoying Family

Today wasn't a day for working on my projects. I played games while Katt and I waited on Patrick to get up. When he did, I was able to get laundry started....but didn't get much of that either.

We went to moms around 12 pm. Stopped at the store to get stuff for sandwiches. Arriving at moms by 1 pm.

Then it was out on her deck playing Rummicube. Katt won one and Patrick won the other game. We had a good time with mom. She talked about the changes up the valley were they lived for over 30 years before moving into town. Katt and her talked about what Katt does. Katt had a call for work, and took an order. Then we had supper, each making their own sandwiches.

It was just a really good day to be spending with family. Katt is leaving in the morning, so we were able to spend time with each other. All in all, a great family gathering.

Not a day of being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching.

Enjoying The Day With My Daughter

This morning we were up early - or I was, then Patrick was about 10 mins behind me. Katt was up way before both of us.

Patrick went outside to work on the yard. He cut down some of the bamboo shoots and trees in the backyard. While he was doing that, I was beading.

I beaded for awhile. Got the 3rd panel half done. Then it was time to go to lunch with Katt. She offer to take me to lunch, which was awesome. We picked up 2 BLT's and then picked them up. We then went to the park and ate. It was fun to chit chat with her.

When we got back, I went back to work on the panels. I was able to finish the 3rd one. I also looked and read the information to figure out what I needed to make. I have 2 more of the 2 right panels to do, and the moon one for the last one. I'll do the moon tomorrow and then I'll work on the other 2 panels to finish them.

Katt went to have supper with a friend. We sat and watched TV. Patrick turned on the new Perry Mason show on HBO that is on our Xfinity. I was shocked at how sexual and violent it was! It's like watching a porn and horror show at the same time. I don't think I will be watching that show again!

While we were watching it, I was working on my cross stitching.

I decided to do some work work on the piece I took on vacation. I worked on the mice with the green pants. I did a few half stitches - yep! the ones I hate doing! I was able to get quite a few done.

While I was beading, I received a text that my Aunt Bev was in the hospital. I texted my cousin to see who things were going. At that time she texted back that they were making her comfortable and there wasn't anything they could do for her. I called my Uncle Bob to see if he heard. While I was talking to him, a text came in that I didn't pay attention to. After hanging up, I looked at the text and found that she passed at 4:15 pm today. I called Uncle back and let him know.

My dear sweet Aunt Bev Taylor, passed away today. She was in her 90's. My heart goes to the family, and I wish her the very best in Heaven. She's now with our Lord and Savior. Rest in Peace, Auantee. I love you!!

Even with bad news, I was still able to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

After The Colonoscopy - Whoopy!

This morning I was off to Olympia for my colonoscopy. Lucky me. I really think the worst part of it all is the prep.

We arrived on time, had our masks on. Patrick stayed in the waiting room. I was called within 5 mins of getting there. They went over all my information. Then put me in bed. The bed I was in was the bed I came out of. They put my clothes and shoes under the bed. Well prepared. The doctor came and said "it's been a long time." I haven't been to see him in about 4 years. We chatted and then he left. We talked about my medications. Thinking I may need to go see him again for the right meds for me. Then the nurse came in and I was off. I was put on my side and the gal said, "night, night. See you when you wake up." I back in the "room" and heard "wake up." I really didn't want to wake up. I just wanted to sleep. I got dressed and then she wheeled me out to the car. It was all of 1 and a half hours. Patrick was there waiting for me. I couldn't have walked to the car, I was too far out of it.

Came home and I didn't feel like doing much. The first thing I saw was the rose on the deck.

I did watch a couple of my recorded shows. Then I was to the point of working on something. Thought I could do my beading on my lap but decided against that. About that time my 2 bars arrived from Europe. I was thrilled. I went downstairs and cut a part for the cross stitching. Then I sewed the piece that I started in MI to the strap and put the bars together. Now I can actually work on one or the other. I'm a happy camper.

I then pulled out the Salem piece and got to work on it.

I had part of the house done, but found that I was making a lot of mistakes, so took it out and reworked it. Then I was back on track. I got a lot done. I'm happy with the way it's comeing. I did get the head started on the other gal.

My daughter Katt is here. I wish at times she could get into doing crafts. Or at least the ones I do. She's not into what I do. She's more into fixing cars and driving her Jeep around on trails. I guess that's the way life is. Unfortunately, she won't be passing it on like my grandmother and mother did. I hope the art of handmade things doesn't die out, but the way thing are going in today's world, it may not be something anyone will be interested in. Too many people today are more worried about themselves then others. Shame. On top of that, the only way to get rid of racism is to stop calling people "black" or "white" and blaming the other.

After all I went through I can at least say I was able to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Preparing.......

Today was my day to do my prep for my Colonoscopy tomorrow. It's Father's Day, and I couldn't join in on it.

I was drinking clear liquid and sodas. Before I had to do my prepping, I worked on my beading.

I was able to get the first one done. Now I have 1 & 2 done out of 4.  I worked on finishing that one while Patrick and Katt were outside working on changing the oil.

Then in the beginning of the prepping, I worked on my cross stitch so I could watch a movie with Katt and Phil. I was able to watch most of the movie.

I was able to get a few things done. Then I had to call it good and so in the bedroom to be close to the bathroom.

I listened to my book and I played games. I also pulled the computer out to work on the genealogy.

At least I was able to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

While They Worked, I Played

This morning I slept on the couch, then went back to bed. I was snoring up a storm!

When I got up, both Patrick and Katt were already outside working on her Jeep. They were putting on the bumper and winch.

It took about 6 hours for them to get the bumper on and other parts they added. It looks better with this stuff on it.

This is Patrick and Katt. They are really proud at what they did.

They did a good job. Added the heavy jack too. I stayed away while they were working on this. When it comes to cars, they don't want me around. Figure I don't know squat!

I love her added touches to the Jeep.

This is perfect for Katt! I love what she's got on her Jeep.

While they were doing all that, I was playing! I was working on my beading.

I finished the one piece then started the first part. This one is the Santa and the sleigh. Trouble was, I had the second part done, and realized it looked bad on the bottom, so I took out 11 rows and re put them in. I could of had half of the Santa done if I didn't do that. I found a couple things wrong on my word chart. So, I fixed it as I went. It's coming along pretty good and I'm really happy with this.

I helped Katt with making donuts for tomorrow. We got it going and while we waited, I worked on my cross stitching.

I'm getting more done. I can add the next house. I also need to add the next lady as well. I was wondering about that. Why does this have 2 ladies? It should have a lady and man. Both sexes were hung or decapitated during the witch trials. I'll try to get more done tomorrow - if I can.

This morning we all smelled wood burning and thought it was the neighbor in the back yard. We found out it was a house fire down the road.

This was taken out my bedroom window. I have an idea of which house it was. I'm hoping it's not my neighbors daughter's house. I ll have to check tomorrow to see if she's got her car over there. Our neighbor in the house was the one that called 911. No one had called it when he did. He said the flames were shooting high in the air. This may be the house where there was a hoarder in it. I say that because it took the fire department as long as it did with Katt and Patrick working on the Jeep.

Took this about 8 pm, and you can't tell there was a fire there today. That open field is where we will be seeing a duplex being built. Not looking forward to that day. We've been here over 20 years and now that lot is going to have a duplex UGH!!

Today was an interesting and fun day. I'm glad to see that it was a day that I could be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Katt Arrived

Today I was up early. I was snoring so Patrick was up way before me.

We got to work on vacuuming and cleaning up the house. It needed it. I did a lot of crap in the vacuum. Mopped the floor and got some rugs in the wash.

I sat down to work on my beading when Katt arrived. I helped her unload and get the quilt room picked up with the needles and threads. I didn't want her cat, Harley, to get into something like that. We then sat and chatted. Harley is staying downstairs while Sophie is upstairs.

We then went out to eat. We picked mom up. Then headed down to Longview to Red Lobster. We all had a good meal. I used my free cake coupon for after. We all shared. Then we stopped at Panera Breads to pick up bread for mom. I got some sourdough bread for later.

Came home and I was able to get some beading done. I started the new "small" project.

This is the second part of the four. I thought I had part 1 but then realized when I got to the antlers that I was on the second part. I did have to fix my word chart for the top part. I had to do 22 beads with 1 of DB041 and 1 of DB201. I had to do that all the way across. I even had to mark on my word chart what color to start with and end with.

Once all that was done, I decided to join Patrick and Katt to chat. Then we watched TV. Katt gets up at 4 am everyday, so she called it a night early. Then I played a few games. I need to listen to the end of my book too! lol

So, all in all, I can say it was a good day for beading, which makes the day Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Not A Planned Day

This morning I slept in. I woke several times in the night. It wasn't because of the mosquito bites like it has been.  I'm finally getting to the point of no itching. I still have a few but not a lot.

Patrick told me mom called after I got out of the shower. I called her back. She wanted to know if I wanted to walk with her in the "dog parade." I told her I would think about it.

Then I saw the email from Georgie that she wanted some of the floss. I got that ready to go. Then I made the 16" block pattern for her. I sent a photo of it as well. So, I decided to go ahead and help mom on her "dog parade." I got a lot done before heading to moms around noon. She told me it would be at 1 pm.

Arrived, dropping off books, fabric, floss, and pattern for mom. She knows what is for Georgie and she will pick it up from mom later. Then we started out for the Colonial House at 12:50 pm. We arrived around 1 pm. We ended up waiting till 1:30 pm - the time we were supposed to be there. Daisy had flowers in her collar, but they fell out before we got there.

Others came as well.

"Bear" was in the wheel chair. He had to check everyone out before moving. He loves people.

Then we all lined up and passed in front of those from the Colonial House. Everyone loved seeing the dogs. Every dog got some TLC. Daisy is the one in front. That's mom's dog. She was getting tired at this point. I had to give her some water and carry her for awhile.

Came back home. Then got going on putting some floss up for sale on eBay. I posted some Glory floss that I have a lot of. I wanted to get some of it sold. I don't want to have all that floss! Only one member in our group asked for floss. I'm hoping more will also need floss. If not, I will sell it on eBay. I may post more tomorrow. It's a start. I was able to sell some to Georgie, which will help. The price I'm putting on eBay is a good deal.

Then I got working on the "Santa Night Flight" ornament. I had 1 1/2 of the word charts done. I finished the word charts for all 4 today. It's now ready for me to bead it up! I will need to do about 3 of them. We will see. I still want to do a few other things as well. We will see how it goes.

It's been a good day. I'm getting phone calls reminding me about my colonoscopy on Monday. UGH UGH UGH. It's a bad weekend to be having it, but I didn't know that when I rescheduled back in March.

So, all in all I was Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Getting A Few Things Done

Today was a good day. I was able to do a lot that I wanted to do.

I got an email with the list of what the group wanted as far as the floss goes. I took them out, logged what was left and then posted to the group they were for sale. I'm going to give it a couple days and if they don't reply, I will sell the rest on eBay.

Then I started out with trying to decide what I want to work on next. So, I started going through my bead patterns.

I decided I want to do something small this time. This will go pretty quick, and then I'll get back to the pattern I fixed. I decided I didn't want to do the snowman just yet. I will do that later. A couple small things will do better.

Then I got side tracked with baking. I did do some more sourdough crackers. Patrick doesn't like the sour part of them, but I love it!

I also baked a Scandinavian Cake. I was in the mood to bake. I also cut the watermelon and campanile that Patrick got the other day. While I was doing that Faye dropped off my beads from Sharon and the quilt I had done. We chatted for awhile then when she left, I got going on logging my beads.

Once all the beads were logged and stored. I went through and picked out the colors for the ornament. I was wondering where some of my beads where when I went to the closet and remembered a have some in the square containers. I am going to need to change that. I keep telling myself that. But they are bead containers, so will keep them and add to them.

The next step was to make the word charts for the 4 pieces. I have one done and 53/78 rows done on the second one. My hand was telling me it's been awhile since I wrote anything for very long. Now a days we use the computer, and don't write. I need to get back to writing.

Tomorrow I will try and get more done on the word chart and maybe start working on the first one. I'm getting excited about doing this. I hope I have all the beads I need, because I have really spent a lot of money on beads lately. If I can get some money back on the floss then I won't feel so bad and can get more if I need them.

It's been a busy day of baking, laundry, beading, and playing. It wasn't what I thought I would do today, but I was still Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Another Day Of Planning Going Wrong!

This morning we were up early. Patrick was up way before me.

Patrick went shopping and I got a call from Rita at Whalen Quilt Works. She's closing her store. So, I told her our group would buy the floss that she got for us. Which was way she called. She told me the  cost of the floss - I paid $400. That meant a trip to the store.  Part of what I bought was the group money, but most of it was mine. I'm going to get some for the group, then I'm going to sell what I have left.

I am planning to sell it all. I did take what I can use. Now the group needs to figure out what they want.

That took about 2 hours, because I was grouping them and putting the information in a spread sheet on excel. That way I can send that around and see what I can sell.

After all that, I got moving on laundry. I also started working on my cross stitching.

I found my chair was taken. So, I had to move my girl. She wasn't happy with me. I had her in my lap for awhile and then ticked her off by getting up a couple times.

At least I was able to get more done on my Salem piece. It's looking pretty good. I was listening to my book on tape the whole time! Think Patrick thought I was mad at him! I told him I wasn't, but the book is so good I couldn't put it done.

I was hoping to do some beading today, but that didn't happen. I need to figure out what I want to work on. I need to do a couple more ornaments. I also need to get my beads from Sharon.

Oh! While I was at the shop, I also picked up 9 more panels for QOV. That wasn't real cheap but it was what we needed. At 25% off, it was better then paying the full price. I wanted to help Rita out.

I guess I can't complain. I was still Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

The Day Got Away From Me

Remember me? I'm the one that plans days and then they don't happen. Well, today was another one of those days.

I had a request from one of the quilters to cut batting and backing for her. I figured I'd do that in the morning......nope.

The morning started out with a call from Sharon. She was asking about the bead order we did. She forgot to order the beads I asked her to order for me. She has all my beads I ordered. We were trying to figure out how I can get them. Patrick and I are staying home for at least a week, just in care. Don't want to share the Virus if we ended up getting it. Bill was telling me about the price of background fabric. He even wanted to donate 2 bolts and I told him no, he does enough for us. So, we chatted awhile. Talking about our beading. I still need to do my hanger for the birds. She was wondering when I would be coming up to learn how to do that.

Then I got my breakfast. Once breakfast was over, I got laundry going. I did a few things around the house and then realized it was 1 pm. So, I went downstairs and cut the fabric and batting. She asked for some more panels and yellow fabric. I got fabric ready for Georgie too. By the time I was done, I came up thinking about what I wanted to do next. I was checking my email and got into genealogy. As I was looking (starting to look), I got a phone call from Rose. We haven't seen each other in almost 2 years. Anyway, she wanted to know if I wanted to learn how to do soap making with her. I told her "No, already did that." She tried to talk me into it, till she looked up the cost. At $60, the answer was a definite NO. She talked for a good hour, then mom called and I told her I had to get off the phone to answer mom. Mom talked for 2 mins and then I was done.

By the time all that was done, it was time to cook dinner. UGH

Once dinner was over, I played games! Then I went back on the computer and picked up on the family history that I was working on. I was able to get some work done on Find A Grave and requested a few people for  me to handle. Then I saw the "Genealogical Society of the Mayflower" group. I went to the website to see how much it would cost to be a member. That's not listed. Then I emailed asking. I was told I need to get a hold of a historic member in the state to see if I qualify. I know I qualify, but don't like having to go through so many hoops. So, I went to the page that I could list the descendants of Mary Chilton (my ancestor). I filled it all out, then got to the bottom where it said, "enter and pay." I hit pay and the it said $75 to be able to have the research done on my line. I decided not to go through with it. I'm not paying $75 for them to verify what I already know!

Now to tell you more about my trip -

The main reason for going was for my husband's father's 80th Birthday. This is him opening up his gift of 4 tires to be put on his golf cart. He loved them, and they were really classy tires. They are going to have them put on the cart, plus they got the year check up to go with it.

I was entertained by this square! He had the red coloring on him. He was right there next to the dinning room table window. It was so much fun watching him running around every day.

He even got into the bird feed that was on the other side of the dinning area. That's the lake with my brother in law's boat in the background. They got out in that a few times. I didn't get to ride in it because the weather wasn't good enough or I was gone when they went out in it.

Okay, today was not my best day. I will get back to my crafts tomorrow. I need to do some more beading, and I think I will work on the hangers for the birds.

So, the day got away from me, yet again! All in all, it was a bad day to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Getting Back To Normal

This morning I was up bright and early. I wanted to get moving. Patrick slept. So, I opened the packages that were waiting for me. I figured out there was only 1 package for me, the others were Patrick's. Just my luck!

When he finally got up, we headed to Safeway to get some groceries. Brought those back home and then went to pick up Sophie at moms. Told her we are guaranteeing a week before we get too close to her. She showed me all her finishes! She really kicked butt while I was gone. Brought Sophie home.

While I was in MI, I was able to buy some beads. I had to go online to see what I wanted, then I called them. Once I called I told them I would be there to pick them up. Patrick's sister and I were in town one day to do a few things and call mom to see how things were going. I picked up my order from the Noc Bay Trading Co. I really wish I could have gone in the store. They are in Escanaba but because of the Virus, they were closed to the public. They are opening up tomorrow. Never fails.
I'm telling you all this because I had the bags of beads and went to my closet where my beads were. I decided I needed to put them somewhere else. So, I cleared out 2 shelves in my closet and 2 shelves in my vanity.

I had the beads on the first and second shelves. I had the books on the top shelve. Decided to put my winter stuff on the top shelve, books on the bottom. I went through my books to decide what I wanted to keep and what I was giving away. I have 8 1st Editions that I'm going to try and sell. I have a BIG stack of books that I will take to mom. She can give them out. I wanted to take them to the Gathering Place so they could add them to the library. I may still do that.

I then put all my beading stuff in the 2 shelves in my vanity. I still have room. When they were in the closet I didn't have a lot of room to work with. Now I have plenty of working area.

I did all this after unpacking all the luggage. We are not going to take that much clothes next time. We didn't even use half and it was 50 lbs and 48 lbs in our luggage on the way home!

After all that, I posted 3 books on eBay to sell. They are first editions. Earlene Fowler's book - Steps to the Altar. I also have Catherine Coulter books - Blindside and Hemlock Bay.

Then it was time to play and after that it was time to cross stitch.

I worked on the writing. The lighter color of the variegated thread gets a little lost.

This is Patrick and his brother. Patrick is really getting skinny!

This was taken after we went out to eat on Wednesday. That chair is huge! It's so funny! It took a lot of help to get me out of that thing!! In case you haven't figured it out, this is Patrick and myself.

The weather was wonderful! As you can tell with the calm water. This was in the back of the restaurant we went to. We could only sit at the table with 4 people, so we ended up with 2 tables of 4. It was really good food too! I did enjoy this trip!

Couldn't remember if I showed this. I was able to get this far while on vacation. I really did enjoy working on this. I have a lot more to do, but it's a start.

The best part about all this is that I am able to find time to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Spending The Morning At Moms

This morning, I didn't sleep well. So, I was up and ready to go. I got a few things done before heading to moms. It's quilting Frida...
