A Quiet Day Of Waiting

This morning we were up to a quiet house. Katt was off to work.

Patrick and I started watching Downton Abbey for the first time. Watching the first season. While I was watching it,  I worked on my beading.

I was able to get 3 beads sets on. I need my smaller needles to help me out. I ended up taking the tassel down from 3 to 2 bead zets.

After Katt came home, we went to the movies. It was the "Knife" movie. It was comical and I really enjoyed it. Then we when to Walmart to get Katt a Christmas tree.

After that back home for more Downton Abbey. It was a good day of Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Happy Thanksgiving

We were up early. Kinda hard not to when we are sleeping on an air mattress.  When one moves the whole bed moves. Patrick moves a lot, so just trying to stay in bed gets interesting.

We all worked together to get a Thanksgiving feast. In between time we played games. Patrick won most, so we told him we were being nice and letting him win since he retired.

We had an awesome meal around 1 pm. The rest of the afternoon we played games or watched TV. I sat at the table beading.

I worked on the top of the ornament.  I had it done the way the pattern said, but it looked awful.  So I took it out and reworked it. It looks a lot better.  I need to finish 3 more tassels and then I will be done. One down.

Not only was today a day to be thankful but a day to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Day Before Thanksgiving

We didn't get much sleep last night. Harley was having a fit at the doir. We thought he was trying to get in the room. Nope, when Patrick got up at 7 am. He found Harley looking up at him wanting to get out. Shame we didn't figure that out at 2 am!

Patrick and got going on the preps for tomorrow.  Then went to the store for a few things. Katt called us as we were shopping. Came ba k and they watched TV while I worked on my beading.

I started working on the beads that hang from the ornaments.  I have half of them done.

We then went out to the movies. We saw Mr. Rogers movies. It was awesome! I really liked it. We all enjoyed it.  Then went to check out the light show in Lewiston.

It was really cool! We walked all around it. Got awesome photos.  Just can't seem to load them on the tablet.

It was a really good day! Enjoyed spending time with Katt. Still able to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Guess I'm 2 Days Behind

Monday was a quiet day. I enjoyed beading with Sandy. She brought some tea and we had an awesome visit.

I was able to work on the next set of ornaments. I was able to get most of this done.

Then iwas taking Sophie to moms. We went after supper.  I stayed about an hour and a half to get her relaxed. I  do miss her.

Yesterday we were in the car 90% of the day.

When we reached Pomeroy it was snow.  We had snow on White Pass as well. The rest of the trip was nice. I had to take a photo of the temperature on the car when we wer an hour outside Lewiston Id.

It was a good trip. So, tonight I will fill you in on my morning and rest of the day. One day was being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Not A Good Day To Bead

This morning things were going slow. It's Sunday, so we really do try to relax during the day time.

I wanted to do some beading....which I did. I got through the first row just fine. Then it didn't go so well......ripping out the next row. I counted and double counted and triple counted.....not my day. Next row was taken half out as well...then I missed a bead, and had to take out another half row. One row after another was taken out. UGH UGH UGH! So, after the 3rd row of ripping out, I called it quits. I only got 3 rows done......but could have gotten 6 rows done if I was on top of it!! When things go wrong, it's better to call it quits and go back later. NOPE, I didn't do that. I thought, "Okay, I can do this now." after each row...yeah right! I did see where the second bird is coming out. The tail is about an inch long. As much as I wanted to do the second bird, it's going to have to wait.

I then went and sat on the couch and watched football. I didn't feel like doing anything else since I wasn't have much luck with the beading.

It was then time for bowling. I bowled really good. I gained 2 points on my average. I bowled a 216, 168, 178. It worked out pretty good for me. It wasn't so good for our team though because we lost 3 games.

As bad as today was, it was still a good day. I wan't so luck with my beading but I can say I TRIED to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Movie and Organizing

This morning we just relaxed.

Then we went to the "Frozen 2" movie. I really liked it, but was disappointed with the music. The music in the background was louder than the song. So, I couldn't enjoy the song. I wanted to hear what the song was about but couldn't because the instruments were louder than the singer. I did enjoy the movie though. It wasn't quiet as good as the first one though.

On the way home, we saw what Terry (one of the City Council members) was doing to one of the city buildings.

He made a ginger bread house out of the building. Shame Terry got voted off the council because they don't know what they are missing without him

Came back home and I worked on some laundry and played a few games.

Then I got the bright idea to organize my beading. I got the Snowman beads together. Then I worked on the Polar Bear beads.

I got all my projects and beads ready. I still need some more beads for the Snowman, but I'm thinking I'm going to do the Polar Bear first. But before I can do any of that, I need to finish the birds. I'm able to get half a row done today. So, at least I can say I was Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Celebrating Our Anniversary

Even though yesterday was our 37th Wedding Anniversary, we decided to celebrate it today. We were not able to enjoy the celebration yesterday because of meetings and bowling.

We enjoyed the morning. Patrick did some work out in the yard. Then took leaves to the dump. I was doing laundry and working on my bookkeeping. Getting things caught up. While doing all that I also cooked the pumpkin that was left over from 2 days ago and got that in bags for desserts. I have 8 zip lock bags in the freezer now. I found some of the older pumpkin was too old and threw it away. So, I really needed to replace it. We then went shopping for Thanksgiving. We got all the stuff we need to take with us to Katt's.  Shopping was in between yard work and bookkeeping. I did the bookkeeping after we got back. Too much was going on to keep on top of what all I did do today.

When things got quiet, I beaded.

I was looking at the photo and think the tail is coming through. I'm not sure, but I believe that is the tail of another bird. It's hard to tell because the branches seem to have the same color. I'm now at 181/446. It's getting really close to 200!! I'm excited. I just need more time to work on it.

Then it was time to go to dinner. We went to the restaurant in downtown Chehalis, call Mackinaw's. I had white fish and Patrick had a streak. It was AWESOME! Well worth going to that restaurant. It's expensive but once in awhile it's not to have. Love the food.

Thank you Patrick for 37 wonderful years!

Came back and did another row on the birds. (still 181/446) At least today I can say I was busy and still had time to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting.

Sophie Visits Mom

Today started out slow.

I worked on my QOV paperwork. That's one thing about groups, we all have paperwork. So, I was marking the Veterans done that we honored yesterday. Then I needed to get another person for Jan to honor. We have one more quilt other than the one we already have scheduled.

Then before I noticed it, it was time to go to moms. I grabbed Sophie and put her in the crate. We headed to moms. Man, was she ticked! I heard all the "meowwww" "meoooow" "meeeeeoooowww's" all I could take! She drove me nuts. We got to moms and she was doing really well. She moved around and checked everything out. She was whining for being there and not getting attention.

Mom and I worked on getting the cutter to cut some applique freezer paper for mom to use on her applique. I got it working. We fixed the cutter so it wouldn't cut so hard. Mom was working on some other papers too. Then my brother called and we had a good chat with him.

By 3 pm Sophie and I came back home....oh what a ride that was! It drove me crazy!! I let the cage open for her. She got out and climbed on my lap. Then she went back into the cage. When we got home, it was awesome! She ran around the house and then calmed down. She was rolling all over the place. She was happy to be home.

I then worked on the QOV papers that I didn't get done.

I didn't get anything done. So, I can't say it was a day of being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Quilts Of Valor Presentation Day

Today I was all set for the QOV Presentation. I left early and was thrilled to see Ethel there. She helped me out by getting things ready for the presentation.

We had good attendance. I was surprised at how many people came but at the same time thrilled we had a good turnout. A couple of them came from Oregon to see the presentation.

We were able to give away 4 quilts today.  From l-r, James Wilverding,  Jerald Brugger, Rick Roberson, and Glenl Wear, Sr.

They were all awesome! All of the served in Vietnam. It was an honor to give them quilts!

Came home and still had a headache, so laid down for awhile. Didn't get much of anything done.

Then it was off to bowling. Not my best night, but pretty close to my worst night. I couldn't believe it! I was in the pocket, but got 9's or splits. I had 5 splits in the second game and was only able to get 1 of them. UGH, UGH, UGH! We lost 3 games. We actually won the first game, but then Joann was on! Me, not so much. 144, 148, 132 - I was consistent - constantly BAD. I always say - it would be nice to be consistent. Well, this time I was.....but not in a good way.

At least I had a good time and I did honor our Veterans. I'm okay with that. It was a really good day today, if I leave off my bowling scores. I would have liked to have been Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Learning About Retirement

Today I was up and left Patrick sleeping. I played a few games and then when he got up, I got moving again.

Patrick got started early. He went into the bathroom and started going through the cabinet and cleaning everything thing up. While he was in there, I was mopping the floor and vacuuming. I did get a load of laundry in there but that didn't go very far. I need to get the laundry going again. But Patrick has a lot of ideas for getting the house in shape and I'm afraid this may be a regular chore. Not that I mind it, but really, I'd rather work on my beading. He is going to keep me busy and I'm not going to be able to sit at the table to bead at this rate. Not that he really made me clean this morning. I was going to do that anyway. I'm just not sure what is coming. He's a "worker bee" and I'm not. This is going to be interesting.

Patrick got a text that they (City Managers) were expecting him for lunch at 11:30 am. So, he headed over there and I watched my "Vera" show. Then I sat down and beaded. I took out the row that I needed to, so I could tighten up my threads. Patrick got home just as I finished the row. I worked on it a little longer and then got tired so laid down on the couch and took a nap.

Then Patrick woke me up to go to the movies. Today was $5 movie day. We went to see "Charlies Angels" and it was really good. A lot of action and a lot of entertaining. I really enjoyed that.

Came home and got my certificates done for tomorrow. I worked on QOV stuff for awhile. Checked facebook to see how my request for donations was coming. We need more. I may try to put that on my page as well. I also worked on the group page that I created yesterday. I will get more on it tomorrow after our presentation.

I started to go back to my beading when Patrick asked if I wanted to watch a Christmas movie and I did. So, put that aside and went to get my crocheting.

I was getting ignored because I made her get down when she went after the thread. She wasn't too happy with me. Sophie wanted to play with the yarn. I'm about 1/3 of the way done with the potholder I want to make. It's double and will last longer. It actually has a pattern going.

=

Don't you just love the attitude? She's so cute! Patrick was telling me, it's just like him putting chocolate by my chair and telling me I can't eat any of it. "No, you can't have that. No, don't touch." Poor Sophie, I guess that is awful of me to do that to her. lol It would kill me not to have my chocolate!

Each day will be different. We are seeing what works with his retiring. So far, I can say it's actually really nice. He's happier and willing to work around my busy "stuff." I'm enjoying his company, but not really being able to get much stuff done. At least I tired to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Day With Friends At BE

This morning I was up. Actually I had one of those nights were I couldn't sleep very well. I was up every so often. I finally got up at about 7:30 am. I went to the couch around 5 am.

I then went to our Brazilian Embroidery meeting this morning. I really had a good time.

I finished the stems. Then I got started on the rose. I still have a couple more rounds to do and then I'll have the rose done.

Then I met mom at the eye doctors. It was all good news. She has to go back in 4 weeks.

I came home and made a call for QOV. Need to get the gal her quilt! We decided to wait till January. I'm going to try for the 11th in Jan which is a Saturday. That way we can get her - finally - awarded.
I then worked on the labels for 2 of the quilts. I realized right then that I have 4 people getting quilts on Wednesday.  I forgot about the quilt I have for someone that was made specifically for him.

Once that was done, I just watched DWTS because Sophie took my chair. I wanted to go fix my beading but then decided I didn't need to worry about it. I did listen to another audio book and return it to the library.

Time to play! At least I was Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

It Turned Out A Baking Day

This morning I was up and moving. I started putting a few things away and cleaning up the kitchen. From cleaning up my kitchen to making a mess in my kitchen!

After I got the kitchen cleaned I went through one of my "Food Network Magazines" and found a pumpkin and burnt marshmallow cupcake recipe.

Next thing I know, I'm baking cupcakes. I made 30 cupcakes. It turned out really good. We made the marshmallows from scratch. They turned out really good. Nice and fluffy!

Patrick helped me out with the marshmallows. It was awesome. He then went and got his torch and "burnt" the marshmallows. He was a big help. Called our neighbors to come and get some. Then we put a few of them together for bowling.

It was fun sharing the cupcakes.

We went bowling tonight and had to stop and deliver some of the leaves from the yard to Phil. Then it was off to bowling. I did ok, but not the best. I bowled a 189, 162, 161. My average stayed the same. Joann and I tied and we both beat the guys. Nick had his melt down again. So, he bowled really bad.

I tried to work on my beading. I have to take a row out because I had a bead that was really loose, and it needed to be tightened. So, I'm taking out a row. Not sure I can say I was Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Shopping Day.....For A CAR

This morning we were up and out the door by 9:15 am. We had an appointment at the car dealers to pick up our new car.

They had it out there waiting for us.

We were happy with the color.

This is Patrick's retirement gift. Now we can enjoy a "luxury" car. It has a lot of the bells and whistles for us. Not as many bells as we could have had, but we didn't want a lot of those "extras' because it wouldn't work for us.

We came home (I drove the car home). Enjoyed about an hour before we headed out and picked mom up for dinner. We went to Olympia for dinner. Mom wanted to give Patrick a dinner for his retirement.

After we got back home, I worked on folding clothes. Then I got the dishwasher unloaded. I played a couple games, and now I'm going to get back to either beading or crochet. I'll let you know tomorrow what I finally decided on. lol - I still need to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Making Up A Game In Bowling

Today I was working on the laundry - hoping to get it done so this weekend wouldn't be doing laundry all weekend.

I worked on the beading again.

I am now at 176/446. I've been working about 4 rows a day when I can. I did more than that yesterday. The tail looks like it's coming out, but I need a few more rows to be sure.

Then I took a break and watched a few shows on Netflix. While I was doing that, I crocheted a couple more potholder. I even started a bigger potholder that I need to replace the old one. I will be working on that one for a little while. It's fun to get back to crocheting again.

Then Patrick came home....for the last time....from work. He is officially retired now. He did get a little emotional when he left, but he's happy to be over with it. He did have a few mixed emotions. It was good to see him happy.

Then it was out the door to DQ for supper and then Walmart. I needed a few things at Walmart, which I HATE shopping at. We got what we needed and were out there in good timing. Then it was off to the bowling alley to make up for not bowling on Sunday. It was not a good day! Nick was "p^^d" off the whole time. He didn't bowl with quot (sp)! I bowled a 183, 162, 142. Patrick out bowled us all. He did better today then last night.

All in all, I was glad to get some beading and crocheting in. It makes life Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

It's Thursday And It Was A Good Day

This morning I enjoyed being about to sleep a little longer since Patrick left for work. Then I realized that will only be for another day....then he's home for good. Retirement tomorrow. Plus bowling....

I got laundry going. Then I went downstairs to see what I could work on for QOV. I cut some strips for another quilt. I had an idea today, so I'm going to try it out. I hope it works. I want to get moving on the blocks that Betty gave me with some fabric for our group. She asked that the blocks goin in the quilt for her grandson.

I decided to frame the blocks - not a lot, only 3 sets. I will put them in the stripped area. I'll also put stars on the top and bottom of the stripped area. I may put these at a diagonal so it's not just in the middle. I need it to look planned and yet it's not planned.

Then I came upstairs and got started on the beading.

I now at 172/446. It's going a lot faster. I really am hoping the second bird will show up pretty soon. I'm really hoping it comes out here pretty soon.

Patrick went bowling and I decided to sit and watch TV and do some crocheting.

Another potholder done. Started another one. As I was watching "Cold Cases" on Netflix I was shocked to see the case that was from here. It was the murder of a couple here in town just before Christmas way back in 1990. I was looking at the photos of them and I think I met them when I first lived here back in the 1980's. I remember mom telling me about it after it happened. She asked me back then if I remembered them. I just heard about it. Then about 6 years ago it was in the news that they found the killers.

I had a good day of piecing, beading, and crocheting. Guess that says I'm Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Making Bread With Mom

This morning I was out the door to Faye's to drop off a few things to go to Sharon. Then I was on my way to moms. Sophie came with me. I need to get her used to moms place.

Mom and I talked about baking bread on Monday. So, I was ready to make bread. I took over the yeast (she called to say her's was old), bread flour, and a few more things that we needed for baking bread.

We started out with Wheat Bread. I showed her how to use her bread machine.

The Wheat bread came out really good! It was awesome and fun.

The next bread we did was the ring bread (not sure what the name is). We had fun working on that. The first one was with dates and almonds.

It was fun to fill the dough and then roll it. The funny part was that I really made a lot of filling for these. It had the filling falling out. It was a lot of fun doing this.

The next one was done with pumpkin and almonds as well as a few other spices.

Our next bread was Cheddar Cheese and Onion.

Mom and I had a wonderful day baking bread. I cut the breads before I left. We put some in freezer bags to freeze. I bought some home and froze some of the wheat bread. I brought Patrick the date bread (some of it) and he like that. He didn't like the pumpkin as much. Mom loved the pumpkin so I had her freeze some for our Friday quilting meetings. Mom kept the onion bread. I only took a couple slices because I'm the only one here that will eat that. I'll have the last slice tomorrow for lunch.

Came home and got supper done. Then it was off to bowling. Joanne and Nick had to bowl for Fred and Denise. So, we had to wait and see how many games we won. We'll all bowl again on Friday to make up for not bowling on Sunday. I didn't bowl so good tonight. I lost a point on my average. I bowled a 164, 158, 165. I guess one can say I'm consistent. Hopefully I'll do better on Friday. I will say that Patrick was really in a good mood tonight. He bowled really good. He was laughing and enjoying his bowling. Guess he's getting really happy about his retirement on Friday.

Tomorrow will be another day of being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching.

Getting Closer To Retirement

Today is the day Patrick was to get his certificate from the City on his retirement. That wasn't till 5 pm.

I was up and playing a few games. I also got laundry going as Patrick really did some cleaning yesterday and my pile was back. While I was doing that, Faye stopped by to pick up some backing material. I also gave her the extra red fabric I had that we couldn't use for backing.

After she left, I go ready to go to moms. I arrived around 1 pm. Then took her to the Laser Clinic for her appointment. She can now see 20/15 in both her eyes. Told her to quiet using her glasses. She was in the habit of wearing glasses. I dropped her back off at her place - now she can drive herself. I then went to Safeway to get what I needed for supper and dessert. Dessert will be done on Thursday or Friday as I will be at moms tomorrow.

When I saw Sophie like this before I left, I couldn't help but take a photo! I feel like that some days! lol

After all that, I was home and putting dinner in the frig with a marinade. Fixed my hair and was out the door. Then I went over to the library (because I was early for the City Council meeting). Walked over and met with Patrick at the City Council door. Phil was on his way, so I waited for him outside. He and I went into the City Council. Phil sat next to Patrick and they chatted. It was then time for the meeting to start. We were all asked to go up to the poteum (sp).

He was given this Proclamation of Retirement. It was framed for him. Phil and I were asked to go up, but not really sure why. We just stood there. Patrick introduced us and then thanked the City for their support.

I wanted to get a few more beads on my piece. I got about half a row and realized I needed to do by back exercises.

Tomorrow mom and I are going to do bread baking. Should be interesting. Not sure if it will be a day to be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Veterans Day!!

As always, I want to thank every single Veteran out there. If I could, I would honor every single one with a quilt! Thank you all for your service. I want to thank my 2 brothers for their service as well as my husband. I also need to say thank you to my Uncle Bob! Military is in my Family! I'm so HONORED to have military a part of my family and nation!

This morning started out at being up at 6:30 am and out the door by 7:15 am. I went to get mom. We then headed to the Laser Clinic where they did surgery on her left eye. While they were doing that - and NO I did not want to watch! - I was in the waiting room.

I took my "Cookies and Cream" yarn with me to make a couple potholders. I was able to get this far in 45 mins - because that's how long it took mom to get her surgery. They brought her out and I took her home. I stayed at the house for about an hour because I wanted to see the last of Agatha Raisin mystery that we started last week.

I finished the potholder while I was watching TV. Then it was time to come back home. Patrick was up and working in the yard. He decided he wanted to go to Olympia for shopping. We then drove up to Olympia to the mall. We walked around. I didn't see a lot that I wanted to look at. Patrick did get a jacket, I couldn't find one for me. I did get some headphones for my listening to the audiobooks. It has a switch on it that I can pause the audio without having to get to the book.

Then we went to check out some cars. We have a car in mind that we want. We found the car we wanted and talked to the dealer about it. Then we waited, and waited, and waited. Gave up on waiting after 45 mins. We told them to call us. They called and quoted Patrick a price and a loan percent. He told them he would check with the credit union to see if we could get a lower percent. I hope they call back tomorrow because I do like this car and it's a great price. I like the car. I like the price, and we will pay it off fast. So, I'm hoping......but if it's not meant to be then that's okay too.

Came home to watch Seahawks. I'm going crazy!! They are screwing up!! Games not over yet, but I'm watching DWT instead! I'll have a heart attack at this rate!!

I'm working on my second potholder. I am throwing away the older ones I made a few years ago. They are just too stained to keep. I needed to change them out. So, I'm not quilting or beading today, but I am doing crochet! Told you I like to do all kinds of things! - Which makes me Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Couldn't Bowl Today

It was pretty much a quiet day for both of us. I spent time beading.

This is where I bead at the table. I also listen to my tablet that has audio books going. It's really relaxing and I get a lot done. I roll the piece while I bead. It's not easy to bead with it laying flat like this.

It's really close to the area that I start the next bird. i'm hoping it will start showing up soon.

While I was about ready to call it quiets, the bowling alley called to say the lanes that we were to bowl on where broke. So, we have to schedule for another day to bowl. We were to bowl Theresa's (secretary)'s team. She's also the one I bowled with on travel league. She hasn't called so don't think they want to bowl with us anyway. Now we're bowling Friday night. Poor Patrick, he's bowling Wednesday night, Thursday night and now Friday night. Oh, well, "it is what it is."

We took a break and went to get the QOV quilt that Ethel finished. I exchanged the quilt with another one. She's really good at getting the bindings done. Then we went to Dian's so I could deliver the quilts I finished. She was happy to see them. She has the red one to finish and then I'll put the binding on that one as well. The 2 quilts I did are going to her sister-in-law's (2).

Came back home and I beaded another row. So, I finished 165/446 rows. I'm really happy with getting 6 rows done today. I also finished the audiobook. I was getting started on another book but didn't get very far. The one I finished was a Tony Hillerman book "Fly On The Wall." It was pretty good.

Today was a good day to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Day To Enjoy

Today I was up early and Patrick slept in. It was nice to have a few minutes to myself. He was up and ready to go to Costco. I had to get ready.

We took off around 11 am to Costco. It was a good drive - with the exception of traffic. We picked up a few things. We actually got some clothes while we were there. I have ideas for gifts. We dropped off the stuff mom wanted at Costco. It was good to see her. She's looking good and keeping busy.

We came home and I w playing games for awhile. Then we watched some TV.

I did clean out the car. It needed to be vacuumed. I needed to get the dirt off the floor. Then I cleaned up the cat litter. Once all that was done, I was back to watching TV.

It seems odd, but I wasn't in the mood to go get my cross stitch while I watch TV. I wanted to go and work on my beading, but can't do that in my lap.

Our Anniversary is this month, so we were talking about that. We won't be able to go out that day, because it's Friday and Patrick has both the District meeting and bowling. So, we'll go Friday instead. That's in 2 weeks, so plenty of time to think about it.

I wasn't able (or willing) to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Little Bit Of This And That

Today was a good day. It started out slow, but then Sharon called to talk and she was on the phone for an hour! I was shocked it was an hour! I had plans for the day - yea, I know, DON'T PLAN! I didn't go to moms for quilting. I really wanted to stay home today.

I got laundry going. Then I played a few games. Once I got that out of my system, I went downstairs to cut some strips. I want to sew them together for a QOV quilt.

There are a couple different sizes, I'll do the wider next to the less wide (I think that's how we say it). I don't have a lot of red, so I'm going to have to go looking for more red. I have enough to get started. Mostly blue. We'll see how that goes.

Then I came back upstairs and finish up with the laundry - almost! Laundry never gets finished.

While the laundry was going I listened to my recording, "The Mitford Murders" which is good. Just LONG. I'm down to the last hour on it. Will listen to it before I go to bed tonight to get the rest of it.

I got back to my beading - which makes me really happy. At times I wish it was going a lot faster but I'm enjoying the work.

This is the end of 159/446. I should be starting another bird here pretty soon. I've been waiting to get started on the second bird. The tail will start first but it comes after the berries on the right side. My berries are close to being done. I'm looking forward to getting this half way. That would be row 223. I've got a ways to go. I did about 5 more rows today.

It's always good to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Took Sophie To Moms

This morning I was getting ready to go to moms with Sophie. I want Sophie to get used to her house for the times we will be away on vacation. I got some laundry going.

I got Sophie in the car and headed to moms. I had to stop on the way at the museum.

I had to drop off the quilts that Linda Myrich made for out group.

Both of these are going to be given out in December to our WWII Veterans. These are really pretty!! I love the work she does!

Then we headed to moms. I got there before moms house cleaner was done. So, I let Sophie out and she went under the bed. She was pretty good this time. She actually came out a couple times to look around, then back under the bed. I think it will work out okay. Mom and I sat and watched TV. We wanted to try and get Sophie to join us, but when I got up for tea, Sophie headed back under the bed. So, I worked on my eagle for my brother. I finished one eagle's wings.

Then I started back on this set of wings. I have the tops stitched down. I started working on the bottom of it as well.

One of these I think is done, but not sure. I'm stitching down the bottom part of the wings.

Then it was time to go home. I had to pull Sophie out from under the bed. Then we stopped to get some chicken before coming home. She was happy to be back home.

Patrick left for bowling and I worked on the minutes of the meeting we had on Tuesday night. Then I went to work on my beading. I was able to get 2 more rows done. I'm not at 156/446. I really can't wait to get half way at this point!

It was a very good day with mom! I enjoyed our visit. I was thrilled to be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Another Day With Mom

This morning I was out the door early. Mom wanted to go to Walmart before she had her appointment at 1 pm.

We went to Walmart and did our shopping. Then we had lunch at McDonald's. When we got out of Walmart and in the car, the clock said we had 45 mins to get to her appointment. I didn't think we were in the store that long. We went back and put the groceries in the kitchen and then went to the Laser Clinic. She checked in and we went to sit down to wait. And we waited. Mom said, "I think they forgot about me." Come to find out, we were an hour early!! Mom's car clock was an hour ahead! So, I told her we actually were an hour early. I was surprised they didn't say anything at the front deck!

While I waited, I worked on the eagle for my brother. I was able to get to the tip of the eagle wing.

Once I finished the tip of this, it will be done. Then I can work on the rest of the eagle. Not sure if I want to do the flag on it or not. I'll decide when I start working on the body. My needle was missing when I took it out. I'm wondering what happened to my good needle. Oh, well.

Took mom home and helped her for a little bit. Then I headed back home.

Got home and got the sourdough bread ready to bake. I used my cast iron skillet to cook it in.

It turned out really good! I love it. Not like I need it, but it was ready for supper.

After supper we went to bowling. We won 2 games. I bowled okay, but not really good. I bowled a 166, 168, 160. I was more consistent then usual. Patrick and I tied on series. He bowled really good the first 2 games. Our partners are going to be gone for the next 2 weeks of bowling. Fred was gone the last 2 weeks, and now they are going to be gone till Dec. 4th. I'm not thrilled about this. I know they will be gone again in April. So, it's like they are bowling only half the time. Oh, well, "it is what it is."

At least I was Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

A Day Of Beading....So Nice!!

Today I was up at 7:15 because my phone was going off. Katt was already up and ready to go. She gave me a hug and was out the door with Harley. Sophie wasn't sure how to take her. We kept the 2 cats separated.

After Katt left, I got the laundry going. I'm behind on it again. So, I went downstairs and took her bed apart and washed the sheets and 2 blankets. I also got a couple loads of clothes done. I need to do more, but will wait till tomorrow or the next day. I have to take care of mom tomorrow.

While the washer was going, I was beading.

I was able to get another 6 rows done. I'm now at 155/446. It's funny how the photo brings out the beading better then the actually design. A lot of the beads are "glass" by that I mean they are see through. All the beads are glass beads, but some are more see through then solid. I finished my book on audio. It turned out really good. I was listening to "Bodies, Baddies, and a Crabby Tabby" by Sherri Bryan. It's well done. I am now listening to "The Mitford Murders" by Jessica Fellows.

Then I wanted to watch a couple shows that I have recorded. I had 3 "Vera" recorded and ended up watching 2 of those. I worked on one of the eagle wings and then got sidetracked with games.

After supper, I got busy with starting my sourdough bread.

I've got it rising now. It will raise all night, then I'll get it ready in the morning. Then when I get home, I'll bake it. I just need to let it raise one more time. I was thinking of rolls. Trouble with that is, that It's harder to figure out how to do that in the oven. I cook it high in a pot. I will think about that. I was thinking the cast iron pan would work, but the trouble with that is that I don't have the lid. Patrick gave that away. Now I wish he hadn't. Oh, well.

We then had to go to a meeting for our water. It turned out great, because a lot of the neighbors showed up.

Now, I'm going to relax and be very thankful I had a day where I was Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Enjoying Time With My Daughter

Today I enjoyed being able to sleep in more. I didn't sleep in, but liked having that ability.

I was up and Katt was already up. It was awesome to see her this morning. Mom called and she was going out to breakfast with Nancy and Ethel. We told her we'd meet her at about 1 pm. So, we went over to visit with mom. Katt picked up a bouquet of flowers for mom before we went. Mom didn't seem to thrilled about them, but that's mom sometimes.

Came back home so Katt and Patrick could work on the jeep. They were changing the oil on the jeep. I love that car of hers!! If I was younger, I would have bought one too! While they were doing that, I beaded.

I started on some of the berries (right side), so that means I have about 10 more rows to get to the tail of the second bird. I need to finish the feet and tail of this one. I'm ready to start 146/446. So, I need about 300 more stitches.

Today was a good day to enjoy family. I love spending time with my kids. I wish the very best for both of them. At least Katt was able to come. We will do Thanksgiving with her. I can't wait!

It's a good day to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

It's Sunday....After Saturday

I didn't post yesterday because I didn't do anything but go to a funeral.

I'm not one of those that goes to funerals unless I have to. I was fortunate in my life that the first 30 years of my life, I only attended 3 funerals. One was my grandfathers, my great grandmothers, and a friends. Later it was my sister-in-laws sister's and my Uncles. When I turned 50, I attended a lot more funerals then I care to count. Yesterday was one of those.

I attended (with my mother and Ethel) the funeral of Ron Smith. A dear friend of the family and he was fighting bone cancer that beat him. He passed on the 18th of October. I had to attend this one. It was not one that I could make excuses for not attending. It was not like Davids that was on my Birthday. So, I picked Ethel up and then mom. We then went to Little Rock area where the church is. It started at 1 pm, and lasted till 3 pm. The pastor was FOREVER with his summon. He was trying get everyone at the funeral to join the church. (That's what Ron wanted everyone to do). It was a good funeral with that exception.

We then stopped and got "lunch" at Farmboy restaurant in Maytown. After that it was home bound. I did feel like doing anything else the rest of the day.

This morning was better. I was up and enjoying a few minutes to myself before Patrick got up. Then it was off to the grocery store. We got our groceries within an hours time. We got home and just brought in the first bag of groceries when Katt arrived. She's her for a couple days then gone again. She's on her vacation.

We took her down to Kelso to Red Lobster and had "lunch/supper." We then came back home. I beaded while I listened to Katt and Patrick talking. I only had about 45 mins to work on my beading. I'm happy to say I got 2 more rows done. It's now 145/446. It's coming along great.

It was then bowling time. We dropped some leaves off at Phil's and then went to the bowling alley. Katt got some french fries. I had a good night of bowling. I bowled a 191, 192, 162. I was striking pretty good the first 2 games. Think I should have moved on the last game. We lost all 4 games. But we did win the quarter, so we didn't have to worry too much about loosing. Nick didn't have a good night. He was so upset with himself that he didn't bowl good at all. The funny part was Patrick was consistent. Those 2 actually tied in series. Nick had a 106 the second game, and then 212 in the last. That 212 pulled him out.

At least I was able (today) to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Patrick's Retirement Party

This morning Patrick reminded me about the retirement party at 11:30 am today.

I was up early and called Cherry to see if I could go over and have some tea. I wanted to get caught up with her on how she was doing. Then I headed over to have tea. She's not doing good. She went to the doctors in Seattle, and that was a waste of time. He didn't talk about surgery, he didn't even know what was the problem. So, he talked about all the stuff they already knew. They were there to see about surgery, and he wasn't even there. Then it took an hour for them to get down the hill to get to I-5, which is about 4 blocks. So, now she's going to find another doctor to see if they will do the surgery or what happens. I really feel for her. She's having to go around the house with her walker. She won't be able to go to our embroidery meeting. We talked about her having to go to assistant living and she said her and Kathy talked about it. She would rather have 24 hour care instead.

I then had to get moving and go to Patrick's Retirement Party. He's not retiring till the 15th, but they had the party today.

He was given a gift from the city. It has the "Thank you for 21 years of service" on the cup.

One of the guy's mother made the cake. It's the sign that is up for the plant.

They had photos of the old plant and the new plant. It was really well done!

He cut the cake. It was AWESOME! There was so much to eat! I had a hamburger and a few more things. It was nice to see so many people there for him. The city will be giving him something at the City Council meeting on the 12th, so Phillip is hoping to be there too. Katt won't be able to make it, but she's coming on Sunday for a couple days.

Came back home and played a few games. I was getting caught up on my recorded shows.

Patrick got home about 4 pm. I listened to the TV news - not much worth watching anymore. I worked on 2 more rows. I was able to get 2 rows in before Patrick wanted to sit and watch the British Baking Show.

At least I was able to get a few stitches in and be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Spending The Morning At Moms

This morning, I didn't sleep well. So, I was up and ready to go. I got a few things done before heading to moms. It's quilting Frida...
