Good Day of Applique With Good Friends

Today was one of those days that Ruth was gone. So, I slept in about 20 minutes longer than I would have. Got up, relaxed. While relaxing in the chair, I received a call from mom. She said my sister-in-law and her sister will be there for breakfast and would I like to come over for breakfast. I said I'd be other, but not for breakfast.

Arrived at moms around 8:30 am but they had not arrived. I chatted with them both. I showed mom my block for Council. Both of them liked it. (Then I forgot it there.) She ironed it for me.

My sister-in-law and her sister showed up. We had a good breakfast and about the time we were half way through, the quilters started coming in. I went to be with the quilters as Chris and her sister left. I didn't get to say goodbye but I'll be seeing them again soon.

We had a good turn out. We were looking for chairs to sit in.

I worked on block #28 and finished it. It's not quiet like what the block is supposed to look like, but it's close. Plus, who's going to take the pattern and compare it to mine?! At least I have one more done.

I then took out my Baltimore Liberty quilt to work on the flowers.

I took out the star in the bottom right, replaced it, and added the star above it. I thought about the flowers and decided I would just let them look more like stars. I will do the center pieces after I get them all on. I need to put five more stars on to finish them up. I have the embroidery to do next and then this block will be done. Hildi was saying she got her blocks all set to work on. That way she can just grab a "bag" or project block and work on it. It's all set and ready to go. I was thinking that is what I really need to do. I find myself wanting to work on a block but then I don't have it ready to go. If I had them ready to go, then I could just pick out the block and go. She was saying it too a while and it was a good rainy day project. So, I'm thinking I'm going to start doing that. Get the fabric and blocks all ready to go. That way when I'm looking for something to work on, I have them ready to go.

I just need to remember - NO NEW PROJECTS TILL TWO ARE DONE!

While I was at moms, got a text saying my Amazon purchase was delivered. It's the roll bars for cross stitch!

Got home and the box was waiting for me! I opened it and was thrilled!! It was the cheaper one of the two BUT as I'm looking at it, I realized it's even better! I has the "snap bars" that snap the fabric on to the roller. I love it! The one I have now needs to be stitched or Velcro stripped. This saves me from having to do that! Almost "woo-hoo'ed" out loud. This looks to be a better one then what I have! I have the EZ bars and love them as well, but betting this is a lot better.

I'm getting more done. Now I can actually say I'm finishing a few things. I have the BB block done, (more to come), finished the block for Council, Id show, and now I'm about to finish one more block of the Baltimore Liberty block. Not bad for this week, if I say so myself. Happy Quilting!

A Day of Applique with Haven't Missed A Stitch

Today I started out walking 2.7 miles. Yep, I added another .2 miles - yah, I know, big deal! lol Just had to make it look better than my same old, same old.

Got home and got my stuff together to go to our group meeting. I really wasn't in the mood. I did stop off at mom and dads to say hi. I also wanted to see how they enjoyed their trip. My brother and nephew are on their way today. Funeral will be next Thursday. Guess my niece is coming in on Saturday at the airport. Still haven't heard from  my sister-in-law, so betting she's swamped with the funeral arrangements. Had a good visit with mom. She picked the block she was going to do for my friendship blocks. She even picked out the colors while I was there. She didn't quiet get to the "neon" colors but was close.

I went to the meeting around 11 am and didn't really get much done. I did have a good chat with Kathy though. Love chatting with her.

Came home and pulled out the light box. I needed to put my design on the block for Council and do the flowers that I didn't like on the Baltimore Liberty star block.

I cut out the stars and have them almost ready for the flowers. I may just exchange the ones I don't like for the new ones.

I worked on the Bountiful Basket block doing the embroidery. I'm putting the french knots on for the flowers. I thought I took a photo, but that will have to be tomorrow.

Last night I was able to get a lot of cross stitch in. I worked on the second bird. I've got quiet a bid done last night and happy with how it's coming out. Working on the cage.

Tonight I'm going to try and finish the Council block and then get back o the BB block and finish that one up. I want to try and get more of those done if I can.

Everyone was asking about our Seminar for BE. I told them I won't be going till the 3rd week in June. They were wondering what I have done. I'll try and finish my next BE work and show that one to them at the next meeting. Now that I know I can do it with my right hand, it should go pretty quick.

Life is moving along. Not too thrilled at the way the world is going. Hoping and praying things will get better...in the meantime, I'll be Happy Quilting!

Making Changes To My Block

Yea, I know, getting to be a broken record - "Started the day early today. We walked 2.5 miles." 

This is one of the areas where we walk - it was odd to see all those daisy in a row! Thought that was funny.

Came home and did laundry. As I was sitting here trying to decide what I would do today, I realized I hadn't done any kind of cleaning in the house for a good week. Not that it was really bad, it was just showing some dirt. So, I mopped the floor, vacuumed the flower, and picked up SOME of my mess. I tend to have stuff all over! But HEY, my house looks "lived in" and not dirty. Never was one to have the coffee table look "perfect" or "decorated" that I couldn't put my stuff done on it. 

After all that was done, I got to work on the Council block that I'm entering. I have it pretty close to being done. The good news is that I have till the 15th to get it in. Which means I may have time to do another block to send in. I won't show a photo of it till I send it off. 

Patrick brought these in from outside. The peonies are really pretty. Patrick brought them in because they were falling over. 

Love the flowers. They really look great on the table. 

Last night after we got home from bowling, I worked on this block. I'm doing the embroidery on this. I need to do the french knots next. It has more to do. It will be nice to have one more block done. I think I counted 16 of them done. I need to check my page to see if I have them all on there. I also had to update my notebook. 

I did get some sad news today. Guess it hit me harder than I thought it would. My younger brothers mother-in-law passed away last night at midnight. Evelyn Gueist (sp) was very friendly and joined into our family from the beginning. Anytime we had family get-together's, she was there. She was given two years over 4 years ago, so she lived longer than they expected. My she rest in peace. At least my sister-in-law was here when she passed. 

I've got another list of things to do...wish list that is....."this" is next, "this" needs finished, "this" needs to be worked on....we all know that list. I'm slowly getting there. I tend to do things to break up what I'm getting tired of doing. Maybe I should just try for the "quick" stuff, but then I wouldn't have fun in the process.....Happy Quilting!

Embroidery Meeting Day

This morning I was up and ready to go. Ruth and I got a good 2 mile walk in. She had a meeting at 9 am today and I needed to get ready for our Brazilian embroidery group.

I was practicing on the "Cast-on Mum." I got some help from one of the other gals and she told me to try and do it with my right hand. I thought I might be able to do that. I was doing them with my left hand and it was twisting. When I did it with my right hand, I was really surprised at how much better they were coming out. They laid better. I could tell which ones were which. I guess I'm going to have to learn to do BE with both hands. That will be fun!

Pat Campbell, who is our group leader, brought in the patterns we ordered a couple month ago. She's teaching this class at the Seminar. I didn't sign up for that class because I wanted to do the bird pattern I signed up for.

This is the other pattern I ordered too. These are both patterns from a gal in Australia that has AWESOME patterns. She's very talented. I love her patterns. This one is a "Japanese" style and it will fit great in the dinner room that has a lot of Japanese dolls as well as an "oriental" feel.  I have plenty of Japanese stuff in my house. Most are things I got when we lived there.

We got a list of stuff that we can take with us to Seminar. We all talked about what to expect at Seminar. I'm starting to get excited. I need to get my money ready and set up to give to my instructors.

Last night I finished this basket. It's a little crooked but the flower covers it so it won't be noticed.

I pulled out block #28 to do the embroidery. I started it just after supper. I will try and have it done by tomorrow. I need to finish the block for Council, ID as well. That I'll work on tonight too.

Which means this will be untouched tonight. I'm really happy ith the way it's coming.

I put all those stitches in that I took out. I have a few more stitches in between the flowers and the bird. Once I get that in there, I can move my bars so I can get working on the cage. Right now I'm a little close to the top bar. I am running out of room to move up.

I've got enough to do today.....let's see if it actually gets done....I tend to get off track of what I'm doing!....nah, not me?!

Tomorrow is a day with Art. Casino is where we will be in the morning.....and home after to be back to being Happy Quilting!

A Quiet Day of Applique!

This morning I worked on MTurk and played games. Then I figured I should do laundry...so I put a load in the wash. Guess I wasn't thinking about laundry because I realized about an hour ago that I needed to get my laundry! Oh, well.

I went and watered our neighbors plants and realized I needed to do that for my plants as well. So, came home and watered the plants. Then sat down and decided it was applique time. I pulled out my block for the challenge and worked on it. It's about 1/2 finished at this point. I will take a photo of it before I send it off. I also sketched out the next block on my new sketch pad I got for my Birthday gift from Phil and Emily. I'm going to try and get back to doing some art work again. I also went through my floss I got from Pat C at Brazilian embroidery and put it with the classes I'm taking at Seminar.

After working on the block, I pulled this out of the bag and worked on it. I got the outside of the basket done. I need to get the handle area done and then I can do the flower that goes with it. I want to work on the embroidery one next.

Last night after I finished writing in my blog, I worked on the cross stitch. I've been filling in areas, but I'm happy with how much is getting done. I will be able to work on the bird soon.

The bird is in the middle. It's not far from the flowers on the right side. I like how it's coming along. I'm looking forward to getting started on the bird house. I'm betting the back stitch is really going to bring this out! I have been wanting to work on it, but I always let that be the last part. That way I find what I need to fill in, and don't get side tracked.

Tonight is bowling night. This is our last night for Sunday till Sept. So, it's FUN NIGHT which means we will be doing 9-pin no tap and (---- can't remember the name), where we get colored pins and get paid for getting a strike if the pins are in the right spot. We also have a pot luck, but tonight I'm taking a salad and will get some chicken to go with it. I'm not going to go through the line for food. I've been gaining way too much weight lately and eating pot luck food is t worst thing for me!

I lost my beautiful necklace that Patrick got me for Christmas a couple years ago. I'm heart broken. I can't find it and believe it might have fallen off my neck. I'm going to keep looking and pray I find it!

I'm still keeping busy with my crafts! I keep jumping around with my crafts! One of these days I may finally get something done! Have fun being Happy Quilting!

Enjoyable Day At Applique

Today I was up and ready to go. Trouble was, I didn't have to leave for awhile. So, I worked on MTurk for about an hour. I was off to the post office and then to McDonald's for their ice tea. I get a large ice tea (no sugar) for when I go to meets. It's only a dollar, so I'm not spending an arm and a leg.

I got to the meeting a little later than I usually do, but I was okay with that. Sat next to JoAnne and we had a good time chatting. Hard to believe - I actually got a lot done!

I took my baskets with me. I had about 4 of them in the bag. I actually finished 2 1/2 baskets. The one with the leave didn't get done, but I needed to cover the space. I saw one of them is an embroidery block and I may do that one tomorrow. I'm not sure. I may work on my eagle tomorrow or even the contest block. I'm really liking how the contest block is coming along and I want to show it, but can't for a little while longer. I also sent the information to my group in case any of them want to do the block contest.

I probably shouldn't tell anyone about it to make it so I have a better chance of winning. Then again, a good challenge is a good thing! I used to enter a lot of block contests back in the 1980's and 1990's. I won a few.

I put the cross stitch away for right now. I want to get moving on the eagle and the blocks. I'm finally back to doing the appliqueing again. I want to finish the cross stitch but I need to work on the eagle for dad even more!

Our meeting went great. We only had about 8 people but it turned out okay. We had three of us stay till about 2:30 pm. By the time I got home it was time to get ready to fix supper. At least it was a good day of Happy Quilting!

Back......

The last four days were busy and yet not so busy. So, I will try and give one a run down on what we were doing.

Wednesday morning we were up and running at 3:00 am. We had a 1 1/2 hour drive to SeaTac. We were told ahead of time that the lines with TSA were 3-4 hours long at times. We remembered hearing on the news to expect 3 hours. We didn't have to a lot of time to get moving. We did pick Phil up at his house and headed to the airport. To our amazement, there was no lines in the TSA. Rare for an airport of that size. We had "pre-TSA" and didn't have to take our shoes off or take anything out of the cases. It was a shock and we figured Judie was helping us out. After getting through the "not so" line, we met up with Katt who came in on her flight from Spokane. We enjoyed each other's company before Katt was off again to meet us once again in Chicago. We actually left an hour before her and waited for her in Chicago. We were able to be on the same plane to Green Bay. We picked up a car in Green Bay and drove another 1 1/2 hours to Gladstone, MI. There we were greeted by Patrick's family. We chatted for about another 1/2 hour.

The next morning we went out to eat with everyone.

I ordered stuffed french toast with blueberries - think that's enough?! Woo! But BOY was it good! And NO, I did not eat the whole thing!

We then went to the funeral home where we had the viewing. We arrived around 2 pm and waited till 5 pm for the service at the funeral home. Patrick's speech was given by his brother, Dennis. It turned out very well. We then followed the casket to the church - across the street.

We then had mass for Judie. It was well done! She was a special woman and the Priest (Catholic - so probably said it wrong), did an awesome job. He even referenced to quilts! I was shocked and thrilled at the same time.

The flowers were beautiful and white. I loved the display they had.

The next day, we went out to eat - again - and then drove down to Marinette, WI to the burial services.

Again, the flowers were awesome! We were all given a rose, for those that wanted them. I did, and brought home 3 of them to press.

I put one of those on Patrick's great grandparents marker. Dennis placed some on his grandfathers. I told them how the tree went. They were able to see the family.

Judie was buried by the rest of the family - both Wiltzius and John families.

We all went out for Brunch with Judie's sister's family and then came back to Gladstone. We went out for "fish fry." We had a good visit with Patrick's brother, sister, and father. Wayne is looking good considering. We went through some of Judie's things and made a stack to be mailed to us. I got some of Judie's unfinished projects which I plan to finish for her. I will also get a few of her blocks that she started. There were blocks that she appliqued, and I was surprised! I didn't know she had done so much! She worked on applique!! I had no idea! I'm thrilled to see them and can't wait to work on them to finish them. I did take one of her quilts, and Katt took another one. I did get a few of the things I made for her back, and I left a few behind for anyone else to take. I gave one of the bags I made to my sister-in-law. She was thrilled to get it. I didn't want much. I did get a ring and necklace that Judie wanted me to have. I've been wearing the ring ever since. It's gold and "has a quilted pattern" that made her think of me. Now I can think of her by wearing it.

I found this hanging in the entry way of mom and dad's house. I had to take a photo of it, as it's Richard's metals. I loved what they did with it.

Yesterday was the opposite of Wednesday. We split in Chicago and meet back up in Seattle. Katt still had another hour for her flight to Spokane.

I did work on the basket while on on the plane to Chicago.

I did work on this, by finishing the rose on the way. Then I tried to work on the Mumms but not happy with the way it's going. I think I will work on a sample to see how to get this done! I'm going to take this out!

I have more to say about today, but will let it go for today. We went shopping for plants, and will show those tomorrow.

I know mom is looking down at us and watching me be Happy Quilting!

A Quilting Day with Good Friends

Today was an interesting day to say the least. I did get my walking in, and then knew I needed to get to the quilt meeting by 10:30 and pick Kathy up around 10:15 am. Patrick called and gave me some bad news - will post when it is proper to post - and I was talking to my kids and hubby after I showed.

I got off the phone, looked at the clock and it said "9:45 am," I called Kathy and told her I was running late and will pick her up at 10:45 am. She said, "Ok." I got together SOME of my applique - thinking I didn't have the time to do that - and headed out the door to the credit union. When I left the credit union, I called Kathy and said I'll be there in about 5 to 10 mins. She then said, "Oh, okay." Picked her up, went to the store and said to Kathy, "Wow, we're the first ones here, where is everyone?" She said, "Oh, they'll be coming." We went into the shop, looked around got some fabric that we wanted....I looked at the clock to see why no one was there....and it was 9:50 am!!!! I was an hour early!! I went to Kathy and said, "Kathy, why didn't you tell me we were an hour early!" She and Rita laughed and said, "thought you knew." UGH. So we waited for everyone. We were the last two to leave.

I came home to find Patrick home. I went downstairs and stitched my fabrics into my book on dad's QOV quilt. This is only some of the fabrics I picked up for dad's quilt. Bev was at the shop when we were there. I showed her some of the eagle patterns for the 10" blocks that I wanted. She picked two of them and said she would make them for dad. I'm happy she's willing to help. I'm going to miss not doing those eagles though. She wanted to do applique. I'll have to do some of the blocks and hope we can get some good ones to go with the appliqued eagles.

I finished the applique basket block. I need to do the embroidery on it and then that will be one more block done. That will be fun to do and I'm hoping to do that by this weekend. I may do it tomorrow.

A Day To Relax....Sort Of...

I started out early this morning. I wanted to sleep in but wasn't so lucky. I sat and worked on the computer for a little bit, played games. Just was lazy to start. I didn't take a shower till it was about 11 am. Felt good to stay in PJ's and robe!

Once I finally got started - I started laundry and then emptied the dishwasher.

While I was slow in getting moving, Patrick was out working in the yard.

I decided to go out on the deck and enjoy the weather. It was so pretty today and around 73 degrees. The wind was blowing and felt good on the deck.

I appliqued the flag to the pole. I took it downstairs when I was done to be with the wings. I'm hoping to get them on the background here pretty soon.

I appliqued the petals on - till I realized I had one petal missing. I remembered seeing it downstairs on the counter. Then I remembered I was passing that around so much that I throw it out. So, I went down digging in my trash can. I Found IT! lol -

Then I added it on to the block. Now I need to pick a color for the center and I'm thinking I will do an orange or something in that direction. I will work on that later.

Then I worked on the embroidery piece I have been working on. I like the roses that I'm doing. The second rose didn't work as well as I wanted it to, but it looks fine. Some I'm going to keep it.

Two down and I believe I have 4 more to go. I'm having fun with this piece. I guess that's hy I want to keep working on it.

I'm going to see Donna tomorrow and help with the quilt for the eagle I just finished. I'm going to talk to her about the blocks I want to do for dad's quilt too. I should take the fabric over to her place to see what we can do with it.

Bowling was tonight. I bowled a 201, 156, 222. I'm getting back up there. I was having trouble in the second games. No worries, I was able to pull it out on the third game. We lost that game, but won 3 out of 4 games.

Relaxing...When I Could.....

This morning was a very early morning. I was up at 6:15 am so I could get ready and walk with Ruth. I had a doctors appointment, so I had to be ready to to leave after our walk. We walked 2.5 miles this morning and I was off.

I made it to the doctors about 5 mins before I was due. A shock came when they called me right in. Even another big shock was when the doctor came in right away as well. So, now I have to keep a record of my back pains...ugh. Then I headed over to the pharmacy for my medications. One of them wasn't approved yet, so I talked with the gal and got everything worked out. No medications came home with me, which was fine with me.

Headed to the quilt group meeting. We had a potluck going on. I didn't have anything to take since I was at the doctors. When I arrived I said I would go and get meat if we needed it. While I was there, I picked up the bolt of fabric! I also bought some batting hat I need for the bag I'm going to make for my lightbox.

It will work out great! I think that is a good background.

While I was there, I tried to work on my block. I got more done at the doctors office then I did at the meeting.

I have most of them done, then I need to figure out the center of the flower. I'm thinking orange but not sure.

I did go and get some meat for our potluck. There was mostly salads. They were really good though! Most of the members called it good at about 1:00 pm. I left about 1:30 pm. I came home and relaxed for awhile. I really didn't do much. I worked a little on my Amazon account to make some money.

After supper cleaned up and now I'm putting the blogs up to date. I'm hoping to get some cross stitch in tonight. I'll be working on the block later - tomorrow. I want to finish another one of the blocks.

All in all, it was a busy day...not much got done....but it was a good day......Happy Quilting!

Finished the Eagle Block!

Today I was up early and ready to enjoy my time. I spent the morning enjoying games and working on the computer.

I got started on the laundry. I even washed my bag that was getting really dirty. There was a spot that didn't come out in the wash, but that's okay, I may try to get it out later. Now my bag is a lot cleaner then it was.

I finished the leaves last night and worked on the eye of my eagle today.

I sent Donna a text with the photo and told her I would drop it off Tuesday. I like the way it turned out. I have a few things that I can change on the next one. Dad wanted to see it before I took it to Donna. He said he wanted me to make him one for a flag in his garage. Not making one for the garage, but will make one for him through QOV. I will work on his quilt next. He won't know it's for him.

After I finished the eagle and while cleaning my bag - I found this block that needed to have the leaves on it. So, I appliqued the leaves and can now count #19 of the Bountiful Baskets done.

Next was to applique the petal of this block down, since it as tacked down and ready to applique. I got 3 petals done. So, I'm getting there! Not sure what I'm going to finish up next, but I'm getting to the small things to finish lately. My mind seems lost since I finished the eagle.

We had bowling tonight and I bowled a 527 - with a 207 game, so that should tell you how bad the other two games were.

Tomorrow I'll be working on my laundry and then I will see what I need to get ready to work on. I may TRY to get some quilting done while I'm at it. That is wishful thinking of being Happy Quilting!

Rainy Day Again....Snow Going Away....I'm Still Working!

Today was more rain than Snow. Oh, well. I slept in a little. We didn't get out to walk. It's still not good enough weather to walk in.

Today was the day for QOV meeting in Olympia. I decided not to go. Donna was sick and I figured I wasn't going to drive up there in this weather. So, I decided there are things I can do at home rather then go.

I did laundry and mopped the kitchen floor to start the day off. Then I took a couple hours and put in some time doing survey's with Amazon. I need some money to go into Amazon to get a couple things I want. (laughing) I'm cheap and don't want to spend the money I have set aside, so I'm working on getting it though their MTurk program. I bought my computer that way about 3 years ago. I didn't do many surveys last year.

This is the Brazilian embroidery piece that I was posting about yesterday. I asked the BE group on Facebook if they knew what this looks like. They were awesome and gave me some ideas of what to do. I'm looking forward to working on this one.

After all the work I did this morning and this afternoon, I went back to finishing the embroidery on this block.

Once I had it all done, I ironed it. I also went to my scraps and pulled the green for the leaves. I'll try and get those appliqued down. I need to baste it down first. It will feel good to have another block done. If I only have 10 done, that's okay, I'll get there. I have 40 more to go.

I still have my list of what I need to work on.....my scrap quilt.....Phil's ships....the group BOM.....Baltimore Liberty......start quilting the Affairs of the Heart quilt.....finish quilting on the butterfly quilt.....cross stitch......start quilting on the red & white quilt.....and the list goes on. Each day depends on what mood I'm in. Each day gets me that much closer to getting something done. And the way I've been feeling lately, I'll get there.

I was asked the other day if all I do is quilt or Brazilian embroidery. Told her no, I do other things too. She then asked again, "Do you just work with your hands." I told her no, I do all kinds of things. I don't spend as much time doing what I would like to do. I waste a lot of time sometimes. I will admit that. I love being able to create the work I do. I'm excited at times of what I can finish. I also have a hard time finishing things because it's like loosing a friend. Once I'm done and it's put away, it may be forgotten. Other times I think about the work and I'm thrilled at what I have done. It's like letting your best friend leave....(which is how my life has been growing up in the military).

I finished the book, "THE HELP" last night. It was really good! If anyone is looking for a good book that would be a book to read. I didn't live in the US most of the 1960's. We lived in MD from 1962 to 1965. We lived in Alaska in 1968 but really didn't know what was going on in the lower US.

All's good! I'm having fun and getting a few things done....every little bit helps! Can't wait to get something done this year! Happy Quilting!

Not My Day For Piecing!

This morning we woke to more snow. It was nice to see the snow. I love snow! I've been bringing the hummingbird feeder in at night and putting it back out in the morning.

I had about an hour to myself this morning before heading to our Brazilian embroidery group. We had a small group. It was our New Year's brunch to enjoy everyone's work. We only had 7 of us show up, three couldn't make it in today.

I started to work on this piece. It's a simple one that will go quick. I decided to wait before I start one of the other ones I have. Some easy in-between bigger projects.  I need to see if I can find the pattern instructions or photo so I know what it will look like. I'm not too worried about it.

Came home after shopping. Saved $5.75 on the coupons from Ibotta app. I decided to put the light box away, since I wasn't ready to work on anything else.

It shows how I tend to take over more than just downstairs when I want to do something! I had this on the table with the book of patterns for the basket blocks. I even went through the book and pulled out two blocks that I can work on when I'm done with the block (#19 not #11). I also have one that I used the backing on, and it's ready to be appliqued down. Not sure if I will do that tonight or tomorrow.

I went downstairs and worked on my blocks - this looks pink now as I look at it. It's not pink but off white. Amazing what bright colors can do to a photo.

I was able to get three of the blocks sewn together. I must have ripped out more than I put in. This block has to be ripped out on the right side. The points don't line up (not even close). I usually just let it go, but this is one I can fix. I must have done two of the three blocks about five times each! I ripped out the triangles on one because I sewed them on wrong. I ended up taking out three of the middle sections because I had the black on wrong.....I can go on. After two hours of sewing and ripping, I decided I was done for today. Funny how every time I WANT to do sewing - and look forward to it....it doesn't work out. So, I'll see how tomorrow goes and try again. I need to trim some of the 9 patches as well. I put a couple on that where not trimmed and I had to adjust. Now I remember why I do not like to sew! AND I now remember why I like applique over pieces....at least with applique, I know what I did wrong but most people won't be able to figure it out.

I can understand why we didn't bowl last night. It's been a couple days of snow - not enough snow to make a big difference though. Probably be the last time we get it for awhile.

I did get more done on the cross stitch. I may work on it tomorrow as well. Not sure what I will do.

When I say "squirrel" it's because the dogs see a squirrel and they are off running - me, I see another idea or project and I'm off running! I need to keep my mind and eye sight on what I'm doing and get them done! That includes Phil's quilt!

I'm still working on family history. Check out Civil War Quilts! I enjoy the history behind so many quilts and hope i a hundred years one of my quilts is still around to a treasured. We can hope! I've even been thinking of doing a civil war style quilt one of these days!
