Started Out Great...Ended Not So Great....

This morning I was up and moving around 6 am. I just couldn't get back to sleep. I played for awhile. Katt came up and joined me. We had a good morning together.

I got started on my family history. There were a ton of newspaper clippings that I was working on. The ones I found were all on the WINELAND family. I added another 75 names to my tree. I was able to figure out where a couple people belonged. I knew they were related but had some work to figure out where they were related. I must have 10 different John Wineland's that are close in age. One of them is my great grandfather. It's been interesting trying to figure out which John Wineland belongs to who.The newspapers have been a great help. So, I spent a good 5 hours on my family history.

After that I pulled out my Brazilian embroidery to work on. We have a meeting tomorrow and right now I'm really not sure if I'm going or if I'm staying. Should be interesting.

I finished a few flowers and will start on the next section. I like the way it's coming out. I did get the floss I need to work on the other areas when this is done. So, it's good to have the floss now to finish it. Rita was nice enough to order the colors I needed. Now she gets them in sets of 10 when she orders. I bought a couple of the same ones, because they were mostly greens. I can always use green.

We then went bowling! Not my night....guess I'm really loosing it!! I bowled a 156, 126, 174. Dropped another pin!! I can't believe how badly I'm bowing lately. I keep getting close to 100, and when I bowl 100, I'm going to call it quits!! We took the first game - because Joanne bowled a 182 with a 132 average. Then after that we all did pretty bad except Patrick. Never fails!

Now I'm just relaxing before I call it a night. I need to relax after that bowling experience!!

Life is good, Life is fun, and Life is still going on. Which means we all can be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

What A Saturday!

This morning I woke coughing. My allergies decided to get started early this morning. I was up and playing on the tablet while Patrick slept. Katt was already up as she gets up around 4 am every morning.

She came up about a half hour after I was up and started making blueberry muffins. After all that, Patrick and I went to the casino. Katt and Harley stayed behind. Katt wasn't in the mood to go along. So, we didn't do very good. Guess our luck has ran out. No worries, still ahead for the time being.

The mountain was in good view today! Love seeing Mt. St. Helen's on a good day!

We then stopped off and got more groceries. We picked up the stuff we need for baking goodies for Christmas.

Came back home. Katt and I worked on BonBons that we have made for years. They are her favorite, so we are making a big batch. She'll probably be taking some home - if she doesn't eat them before she leaves.

I worked on my family history. Found a family member that I couldn't figure out where he belonged. The good news is, I figured it out!

Then mom and dad came. We went to Red Lobster for supper.

Katt wanted to send a photo to Phil of all of us crammed in the back of mom and dads car. Mom has to take her dog with us everywhere!

I sent this photo to Phil. Since he told me I couldn't eat shrimp - because of health reasons - and I wanted to tease him. I loved the reply I got back...."Hope you didn't eat that."

We came back and played domino's. Patrick won.

Now it's relaxing time and I'm going to work on my family history. I want to get back to where I left off. It's funny how all the sudden I'm finding more family when I couldn't find them 30 years ago. lol

Life is good, life is having family, and life is unpredictable. In the meantime, let's all be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Good Day!

This morning I was up and at Cherrill's early. Then ended up helping with her computer and chatting. Thought I ad plenty of time. When I left her, it was already 10 am.

I went to the Dollar store before going to mom's. The had some more of the box "houses" that work great on the Christmas gifts. I bought some for the bowlers, thought that would be a cool gift box. Then I was off to moms arriving around 10:45 am.

She had a good group there. There wasn't room for me to sit but I found a spot for a few minutes. Heildi brought her Halloween Baltimore Album patterns. I took them because I have the copies and it would be nice to have the originals. Plus I have all the fabric to do them. YEA I KNOW, I'm not doing any quilting lately and I'm picking up more patterns...go figure!

In the hour I was there, I was able to put the top eagle on. I have one more. The more I look at the bottom one, I'm thinking of changing it. I don't know how, but I'm going to figure something out. I may use another one. I have one more to put on and may see if the other one can handle the other eagle. If it can, I will use that second eagle for the bottom and top. I'll see what I'll do. May try to do this on the weekend, may not have time.

Left and went to get my message therapy done. That was an hour. Arrived home to see my daughter made it over. She was here early. It was so good to see her.

We chatted for awhile then decided to go out to eat and then go to the movies. We saw the "Justice League." It was really good.

Then came back home and I had a ton of things I wanted to do, but the time was gone. So, I'm going to be on everyone else's schedule for the next few day. Not sure if I will go to my embroidery group on Monday....hard to say. Katt might like it if I did go.

Life is good, Life is quick, and Life is living. I'm still being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Not Feeling Up To Anything - Day

This morning I did the unthinkable. I slept till 10 am. I couldn't believe it. I couldn't get my body to get out of bed. So, I fell back asleep after Patrick left and didn't see the sun till 10 am.

ONCE I was up, the morning was already gone. I hate that. So, I relaxed for awhile. My migraine was hurting so had to take a couple pills for that. Not good, because I'm not supposed to take pain pills unless I have to. I had to.

I turned the TV on and watched a couple shows. I also pulled out my computer and started in on the family history. I've been working on my WINELAND family. I had a message from another family member that I couldn't answer because there are way too many John Wineland's on my tree. So, told her I needed more information. I'm going through the newsletters and finding a few members I don't have. So, will be trying to figure out where they belong.

Patrick came home and wanted to go to the casino. We went for about an hour and a half. Even though we didn't come home with any money, we are still ahead of the game. Can't win them all.

Got home and Patrick got a call asking where he was. He had a district meeting at the church. So, he took off. He was back in 45 mins.

Now I'm still checking my family history. So, not one stitch got done today. Hopefully by tomorrow I'll have a few stitches in on my piece.

I'm looking forward to being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Enjoyed The Day....Forgot It Was Bowling Night

Started the day off early. Went over to Cherrill's and helped her out.

Came home and worked on my laundry and vacuumed. The got a bright idea of checking to see if I had a frame for my next start.

Next was off to my message therapy! I had an awesome hour of getting a message that killed me! My back was feeling it all afternoon!

Got my frames out and found the right side. I wanted to get it ready for when I'm ready to change or get started on this.

Then I decided to get the floss on the cards. I'm not too thrilled about that, because the cards only had the holes. There was no color marks or numbers where to put the floss. So, now I'm going to have to mark the boards with the marks of the pattern. Funny how the pattern has numbers and color but didn't put those on the boards. I'll figure something out.

I had the pattern enlarged, so the good news is that it's ready when I am now.

I was thinking (while I was doing the floss) about the gal I met at the casino yesterday. She was sitting in the Keno area with her cross stitch. I had to ask what she was working on. She had this really pretty pattern of a cat in the flowers. She told me she got the pattern from the Library. "They have a ton of free patterns to work on." I agree. She's like me, she's done quilting and crochet, but found her true love is cross stitch. I agreed with her!

Then was time to go bowling! Patrick asked why I heated the water when we were going out in 10 mins. I looked at him and said, "We're what?" He reminded me it was bowling night!

Off to bowling. It wasn't Patrick's day till the last game. As for me, I did the opposite as he did. I bowled a 215, 164, 123 - crap! Had 5 splits in the last game. We didn't have Fred bowling tonight. We lost the first game, and we won the rest. Only because Patrick bowled a 267 in the last game. His oher games were 139 and 159. Go figure. He went up a pin and I went down a pin! What a pain!!

Life is good, Life is hard at times, and Life is still going when we are not. That leaves me Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Not A Day For Stitching......

This morning I was out the door by 7:25 am. Met up with Art. Took him some bread I baked yesterday. He loves my homemade bread. I just wish I hadn't cut the dough in half and used a big pan to cook it. Oh, well.

We then headed to Yelm, WA for the casino. We go once a month and I was able to talk Patrick into letting me go this month. Got there and played a few games. I was staying up there, then I started going back up. I start with $100 and when it was time to go, was down to $60. Still had 10 mins to go, so I took $5 and went and played a game I haven't played in a long time. I kept telling myself I needed to leave and get back with Art. So.....I cashed out at $51. Couldn't believe it. Back up to $100. Then I went to check on my 2 keno tickets. My comment to the older guy in front of me (don't know he's name but see him every single time!), was "Not my day today." Then I got my tickets checked (one for the $20 speed keno and $6 ticket for 6 games), and I won $94 on the 6 game ticket with $2 on the $20 ticket! Go figure. I was thinking of changing the tickets but I didn't do it. Funny how I need to listen to my thoughts!!

Came home around 2:30 pm and went to the Dollar store. Picked up a couple things for the Christmas gifts I needed for bowling. I also got the bags for it. Plus my anniversary card for Patrick. Next I'll pick up his gift tomorrow.

I was able to get about 50 to 100 stitches in tonight. Not as much I wanted to get done. I'll work on it tomorrow - after my message therapy!

Life is good, Life is surprising and I'm glad to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Day To Myself - WOW!

This morning I was up and over to Cherrill's to help her out. She's doing good and has some awesome new washer and dryer! Helped her with her computer. Not much to do, since it has to do with the new Internet Explorer. I don't use IE any more because of major problems.

BEFORE I BEGIN - BDEIG - has been featured by Nordic Needle - check it out!

I came home and got started on my laundry. I love the dryer I got from Cherrill. I actually put everything away! I usually let my folded clothes stay on the dryer till I feel like putting them away - a very bad habit. So, today with the dryer not having the back sticking out, it's better that I put them away rather then them falling off the back to the floor. So, I was "a good girl" and put them all away as I went along.

Then I wanted to get some stitching in. So, I spent the afternoon working on my cross stitch and watching TV.

I was able to get the arm going. It doesn't look like a lot, but I figured I did about 500 stitches when one figures 1 over 1 which actually gets me 4 stitches in a one stitch area. I was getting a little confused and had to redo some of the stitches. Taking out 1 over 1 stitches on a 32 ct fabric is not fun! I had to get a new strand a few times when I did that.

I baked bread for Art. I'm taking him out tomorrow. So, I split the bread in half and put it in the usual baking pan - which I should have put in a smaller pan. Oh, well. The bread still came out pretty good.

We had a wind storm today. It was going like mad all night! Miss Kitty, she would have been in here sitting with me through it all. I heard all kinds of stuff going by. Plus the wind was sounding pretty good too.

So, I was thrilled to have a quiet day to myself. No one called, and no one wanted anything. Tomorrow will be different and so will Wednesday, but I take each day as it comes.

Life is good, Life is full, and Life is fun. I keep busy and I keep being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Full Day of Bowling

This morning I was up and ready to go by 9:15 am.

We met up with Kim, Virginia, and Theresa. We car pool! Patrick dropped me off and I was off with the gals. We arrived early to the bowling alley in Longview. The idea was to be there early and get breakfast. They make good meals there. Everyone ordered, and I had french toast with "half hash browns" which in reality were a FULL plate of hash browns. They all had eggs. There was 2 omelettes and Kim had a fried egg. I used to eat that, but now I'm not that fond of eggs. Partly because of my reflex.

After breakfast we went to bowl. I bowled a 137,144, and a 147. Just wasn't my day! I dropped 12 pins in my average! That's how bad it was. I had to bowl straight up the lanes, because my bowl didn't hook. Our whole team - none of us made a 500 series! That's bad.

Came home and was able to get a few stitching in on my cross stitching.

I started on the elbow. I'm getting there. Hopefully tomorrow I can get more done. It's supposed - get that? - supposed - to be a quiet day. Let's see what happens.

Then it was time to go bowling again.......let's see what that will bring.....ugh.  Actually, it turned out pretty good compared to this morning. I bowled a 203, 178, 164. A lot better then thismorning. I actually gained that one pin I lost last week.

Life is good, Life is still going.....and I'm still Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Today, I'm going to do something different. Today my life doesn't matter for what I did. Today it's about the Veterans in my life and family.

So, THANK YOU, to my friends and family who have served this country.

Great grandfather - John Wineland - Civil War Veteran.

He was injured in the Civil War and was in a wheel chair most of his life.

Great grandfather, James M. Hodge. Civil War Veteran.

Family member - WWII soldier.

Emma Study - WWII.

Another family Veteran (thinking Matheson).

Ed Study and friend - WWI or WWII. (don't have my records handy)

Great Uncle - Orville Matheson - WWII - dead 6 months after coming home. He had a brain clot due to bombing around him. Was part of Patton's army.

WWI - not sure if this is a Study or another family name. Handsome man.

Wayne Matheson - a cousin.

Uncle Bill Taylor. An awesome man! Very much missed.

My father, Myron Taylor, with his father, Myron Taylor.

I believe this is another "Study" family member.

My father and my Uncle Bob - who served in 1960's.

And of course, this is my family - My father, Myron, mother, Shirley (who supposed my father all through his 26 years in the AF), my brother Chris, who served 9 years, myself (didn't serve but would have if the cards would have changed), and my brother, Patrick, who served 20 plus years ending as a Col.

And last but not least my husband.

Oh, I did miss one - my cousin's husband - Mike Foley - who I do not have a photo of. If I did, I would have posted it.

To all those above and those how served with them, THANK YOU! We have a life to be thankful for all you have done. We need more people like you, who care enough to serve. Those who have served are proud and believe in our country.

This is why I'm honored to be a part of Quilts of Valor!

Life is good, Life is hard at times, and Life may be taken, but Life keeps going. There's bowling tomorrow but I hope to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

The Friday Before Veterans Day!

Today I was woken up at 8 am with a phone call. The one day I thought I would be able to sleep in and Patrick gets a call from work. Just what I wanted. The one day I could sleep in and really felt like sleeping in, and the phone rings.

Got the laundry room cleaned up. We bought Cherrill's old dryer that has more buttons then I have on my dryer. We traded out my dryer for this one. Ours is newer but the other one is great. So, ours went in the garage and the other one is in my laundry room. So, it was the usual, clean under, around, and on top of the washer. Once the dryer was in - of course I had to try it! - both of them looked good next to each other. Both front loaders.

After that, I wanted to get into working on my cross stitch.

While Patrick was blowing leaves and getting them in the truck, I was working on my cross stitch. I'm not sure if I will do 1 over 1 again on the skin. It's time consuming and the threads tend to unravel at times. I love how it looks though.

We then took off to the theater and saw "The Orient Express" movie. It was really good! We saw the older version a few months ago, and this version is just as good if not better.

Came home and working on my cross stitch again, while watching "Monsters University." It's really good to. I've like this movie since is came out. Worth watching again

Life is good, Life is hardwork, and Life is still going. I'm still Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Enjoyed Quilting With Friends

This morning I was up early. I was goofing around till I needed to go see Cherrill. I stayed and chatted. I was going to stay home today but while walking over to her house, realized the group wouldn't meet again till December. So, decided I would go, if not to just say hi to everyone.

I got the hummingbird pattern that I had and took it to mom. She was asking about a hummingbird pattern for a baby quilt. She actually wanted to design one and I printed out some hummingbird photos yesterday but told her I had a pattern just like what she was talking about. So, I took it to her this morning. She will blow it up 50% because it's only 22" x 26" or there about.

Right when I was ready to leave, she asked how long I was going to be at the meeting. Told her I was only going for a couple hours. I didn't want to stay till later this afternoon. Really wasn't into it and wasn't sure if mom going would be a problem with me not doing much. As it turned out, I took her with. I actually worked on the QOV quilt top that one of the gals gave me to do the applique on.

I appliqued this bird down. I like the way this one came out. The other one, not so much. But then I don't have the same sides on all four places where she wanted them to be.

The one on the bottom, didn't have the sides that I could hide the "half eagle" on. So, it just looks a little funny to me. I may have to cut that > area on the bottom and curve it around. I'm going to think on that one. The third bird is pinned and ready to be appliqued down. I didn't have a problem with that.

While I was there, I chatted with Rita. She got the patterns in for the class!! I'm excited. I will be teaching beginning Brazilian Embroidery in February. We wanted to get the holidays over. So, she going to see who's interested in the class and then I'll teach it in February. I had another pattern for her to see. Actually I showed her 6 patterns and gave her the order form for pattern. One of them is Virginia Chapman's leaf patterns. It's an awesome beginner piece. We were talking about giving a class on that as well. There was a couple over classes that would work out, and I think Phyllis would do great on teaching the more advanced classes.

I also got one the our new quilters into doing a small BE piece. She started it while I was there and we went over what stitches were in it. We talked about the piece and noticed that the instructions were a little different from the photo. I told her I usually use the photo as a guide.

Mom and a good time while we were there. She took out almost as much as she put in. Don't know what she was thinking. She enjoyed chatting with a couple quilters she hadn't seen in awhile. Kathy W brought a quilt pattern in for mom, and was surprised to see I brought her. The good news is that mom got the pattern and I didn't have to take it to her. 😺

Took mom back home. I left there and was home by 2:10 pm. It was nice to be home! I'm looking forward to tomorrow - no where to go!! Ugh, just realized Patrick has the day off and I don't have to go to Cherrill's tomorrow.....what in the world is Patrick going to come up with?! I have a feeling, my resting day will not be a resting day, now that I look at it.....ugh!! Plus Sunday is double bowling day....HELP!!

Sitting here watching the Seahawks game. I can hope! Life is good, Life is fun, Life is unpredictable. I'm still staying Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Day 3 And Still Running

Today I was up a little after 8 am. Off to Cherrill's to help her out. Then home.

Got laundry going, and started my sourdough bread. I got the bread machine going. Then I headed out to my message therapy. While I was there, mom called. She needed me to come over and help her with her clothing order online. I asked if she could wait till tomorrow, and that was a "no." She had people coming tomorrow and needed to place her orders.

I headed over there after my therapy. Ordered some clothes for her online. Then she wanted to get a nutcracker for the front door. Not the small ones - a big one. So, the Nutcracker I ordered for them is 5' tall. They wanted that for the front door. Dad wanted 2, to put on both sides of the garage. This thing isn't small! Should be interesting where they will put it for storage.

Came home and got stew going. Got back to my laundry and then baked the bread. I also cooked up some veggies for me to have with the stew.

Patrick got home and things went that much faster. After supper we headed to the store to pick up a couple things. Then it was off to bowling.

I bowled a 160, 181, 167. My average stayed at 177. So, I really need to kick it up!  I had 4 splits in the first 6 frames of the last game. Then I bowled 3 strikes in a row when it was close to the end.

Life is good, Life is busy. After 3 days of running here and there, I'm not sure if I will go to our meeting tomorrow. There is a quilt meeting tomorrow. I love seeing everyone, but I really am tired of go, go, go.....go, go,, run, run.

I need a break!! So, I'll see what kinda mood I'm in tomorrow. I need to work on something!! I want to get back to being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Meeting Day Again

Today I was up a little after 8 am. I just didn't want to get up. I'm really getting tired lately, but not real bad.

Went to Cherrill's and stayed for a little bit and chatted. I learned a little bit more about Tom's cancer that took his life about 3 years ago. He had liver cancer. Not what I wanted to hear with what I've been going through.

Then I was off to Olympia for our Quilts of Valor meeting. I was there just as they started. I was running out of time but made it. One of the gals gave me her top and asked me to applique an eagle in four corners. The eagles are part of the fabric, so it's the old way of cutting a design out and applique'ing it on fabric.

I enjoyed an awesome lunch with Phil. It was a really good visit with some chatting - that I've missed for a very long time. We had an awesome chat and I told him all the health issues that I have and what I'm having to go through. He was awesome.

I worked on my cross stitch tonight. I think the leg is going okay since I made the mistake. I'm almost back to normal. I think once the outline is done, it will look a little better.

Patrick and I picked up the dryer that Cherrill sold us. It's an awesome dryer with more buttons then my washer! Her washer went out and she wanted to get a set. So, asked Patrick if he knew anyone that would like a dryer. He said we'd get it. He was going to leave it in the garage in case we needed one, but I told him I wanted the dryer to use, and ours can go to the garage. So, this weekend we will clean out the laundry room and put it place of the old one.

Life is good. I'm still busy with being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Day With Friends At BFF

I was up and ready to go today. I got a good sleep, which was surprising to me since I always seem to get up too early or in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep for awhile.

I picked Cherrill up and we went to our Brazilian Embroidery meeting. We're called "BFF" and I think it's for Brazilian Friends Forever but not sure. Our group is about 3 years old now.

I worked on the flowers of the spout on the tea pot. I added the green on the flowers. I didn't have enough flowers done to finish up with the green. So, I have both the green and the purple strands showing while I try to work on them. I like the way it's coming out.

I had my message therapy this afternoon. So, when I got home, told Patrick I wanted to go out. We decided to go to the casino because of "senior" night. We had $45 each to work with from the casino. We figured we'd be home in no time, but we actually came home with more money then we took. So, I think after this last month, we are ahead of the game. Unusual but nice to be ahead and not loosing it all.

Got home and did my exercises. Watching DWTS and then calling it a night. Good thing we taped it! lol I really like the dances they have been doing.

All in all, I'm having a better week, but it's a busier week. Tomorrow is Quilts of Valor meeting. Then back to Massage Therapy on Wednesday, and Thursday is my quilt meeting. Things are busy...busy...busy this week.

Life is Life, and I'm still Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Little Better Day Today!

Today I actually slept in. Patrick was up before me, and that is a really big thing around here! Surprise, Surprise.

I worked on the family history again. Had to fix all the stuff I did earlier and ended up deleting from ancestry! I tried to sync it with my program and it didn't work. So, I deleted the information. I had 2 days worth of stuff I needed to fix.

Then I got my game done. I enjoyed the relaxing day...even though I was working on laundry as well. Since tomorrow is going to be busy, I needed to get a few things done.

Patrick fixed supper and I was able to get stuff done.

Seahawks were really bad today!! They deserved to loose after the way they played. While we were watching TV, I worked on my cross stitch.

I'm getting close to having the knee done. I didn't get much done today. I was able to get a few stitches in but not that many. At least I was able to get a few stitches in.

We had bowling tonight. I bowled a 163, 162, 158. Not my best. I just wasn't into bowling tonight. I just couldn't get moving right. Just not my night to bowl. I dropped a pin on my average, so now I'm back down to 169 average. Not too happy about that. Next Sunday is another one of the double bowling days. I have a new shirt for that league and looking forward to wearing it.

Life is good. I'm trying to be a little more careful with what I eat. Pain in the butt!! Life can be exciting, fun, and just life. I'm still working on being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Two Days of Relaxing - Or At Least One Day

Yesterday and today were days I needed to rest. I figured out I did get a concussion from the fall, because my eyes where not focusing right. Plus I was a little nausea at times. So, yesterday I slept till about noon.  I didn't get to see Cherrill or go to my message therapy since I had one heck of a headache.

Even though I was told to try and stay away from aspirin, I had to take my migraine medicine. That actually helped. So, I stayed pretty close to home. Didn't go out at all yesterday. Mom was mad at me and told me I needed to see a doctor. I told her that Patrick and Denise were keeping an eye on me and I didn't think I needed to go. I remember when I was younger and got concussions, that they would send me home with the understanding that if I got sick I was to return. Back then, they wanted concussions to stay awake for several hours. I always hated that because I wanted to sleep. Today they say it's better if we sleep. So, that what I did. Even called it a night early last night.

Then today, I decided I was good enough to do our weekly trip to the casino. They had a "pick the turkey" on the slot machines and both Patrick and I got $25. So, we played a long time on that. We came home with more than we took, which is always nice.

After the casino we went to Safeway and bought groceries. By that time my brain was telling me it was time to relax again. We came home, and Patrick put the food away and cooked supper. I relaxed for a little while. Then after supper we went to the new "Thor" movie. I really enjoy those! It was just as good this time as last time.

Now we are home. I didn't do my "crunches" because that was moving my head up and down. Didn't want to get it messed up again. Did do my other exercises though.

So, the good news is, tomorrow is relaxing and I hope to be able to work on something again. I'm looking forward to having the day at home before we go bowling tomorrow night.

Life is good, Life is unpredictable, and Life is still going. I may feel down at times, I may cry over the loss of my cat, and I may have a great day with friends and crafts. Yet, Life goes on. I have issue that need to be taken care of, and I have to take each day as it comes. I can do that, and I'll probably be that old lady that lives to be 100 looking for family to be close by. (We can hope)

In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

A Day To Myself

Today I was able to sleep in but because I could - I couldn't! UGH

Got up and got my breakfast, then got going on the laundry. I'm happy to say I have a very small load that needs to be done. I didn't do it because I got side tracked with other stuff.

Mom called to have me send a message to everyone that we are quilting tomorrow. I was working on the rabbit when she called.

I needed to get the rabbit on the piece. I had this much done when mom called.

Then I got side tracked - yep, a squirrel ran in the house - and I had to follow it. I had to sent the email, so I did that. Then I pulled up the ancestry and newspaper pages and worked on the family tree again. Got a lot of the KOEPPLER family done. I told myself I would only do about 2 hours, and instead I worked on it for 4 hours. Guess I wasn't too worried about the rabbit on the quilt, but was more interested in the family history. That's not getting me anywhere. Did find a clipping of my father-in-law from 1977. I hadn't seen his hair so long! lol

I did get back to the rabbit just before supper. I need to get the noise and finish the ears, but will do that at moms tomorrow. I'm going to be late going to the meeting but at least I will be there.

I took this photo after I finished putting the rabbit on.

Then I put the flash on and it came out a little lighter. At least this way one can seen the border.

So, the rabbit is one the top. It blends in a little, which I didn't think it would. Oh, well. Once the nose and ears are done then it will look a little better.

Next I'll work on my cross stitch. Which keeps me going and being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Not My Best Day Ever

I was up early because of my doctors appointment. I was out the door at Cherrill's and off to my doctors appointment.

Arrived at my doctors office and didn't have to wait long. I was in the office waiting for the doctor when mom called. Told her I'd be there in a half hour. Turned out it was a little longer then that. My doctor came in and gave me "semi" bad news. My ultra sounds found a few things wrong. So, we talked about what I need to do. Then we talked about things I could do and what the "worst case scenario would be."

I worked on my Brazilian embroidery piece. I started on the flower piece. It's a variegated purple. I like the color. I took out the first one I did and worked on it again. It's fun to do. I have green to do next with the flower. I like the way they are coming out. Small but fun to do.

Then went to moms before I had my physical therapy. Had fun chatting about their trip. Then went to my physical therapy and he gave me one more thing to do. Told him what the doctor said and he looked it up on the computer. We talked about what I needed to do, and he told me I really do need to get back to walking 10,000 a day. So, when I was done, I walked around the housing area where mom lives and picked up her quilt at "The Gathering Place." I got a good 2000 steps in if not more.

Came home and worked on Patrick's KOEPPLER family tree. Found some really interesting things on the family. When Patrick got home, I got up, tripped over the cord, coffee table and hit the TV table head on! Patrick ran to see what I did, and helped me up. He made me sit down and rest before I wanted to. He cooked dinner because he was so worried about me. I had one heck of a knot on my head! I put ice on it.

We went bowling and he told me I had to set through most of it. So, I'd bowl, set down, and get up to bowl. I usually stand through bowling because I hate to set. I bowled a 216, 166, and a 195. We won all 4 games. I went up a pin in my average and now I'm 177. Awesome!

Life is good, Life kicks us in the ASS, but we can get through it. Things could be worse....let's hope it doesn't get worse.....Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

One Thing Leads To Another

This morning I was up right after Patrick left. Then over to Cherrill's.  Next off to the dentist.

Now, what is it about dentists I don't care for??! Hum, lets try the part of scrapping teeth. The cleaning went well. I was happy I didn't have any problems with my teeth. I waited 20 mins for the dentist to check my teeth. Yea, that's the part I don't like. He put two teeth on "watch" which have been on "watch" for at least 2 years now. Then there was the telling me my gums in the front of my bottom teeth was red. That means I need to "message" the area better. Okay, I get that. Now, I've always been that person (or kid) that would put the pink tablet in my mouth and couldn't for the life of me get that out of my teeth! On top of that, I do everything I need to do for my teeth and every time I go in, there is something that I'm doing wrong. After umpteen years of this, it is really getting old. UGH

I worked on my Brazilian embroidery while waiting at the dentists office. Was missing my color for the flowers.

About an hour and a half later, I was on my way to Centralia for my message therapy. Got into town and there wasn't any power. The power was out. My therapist asked if I was okay with doing the message with the power out. Heck yea, I'm okay with that. I can live with no power. He was having a cow about this being the third time the power has been out. I just laughed. I'm okay with no power for awhile. Half way through the message, the power came back on. Went across the street to KFC, but they didn't get their power back on yet. Across the street had power for 20 mins and KFC - again - across the street, had no power.

So, headed to Safeway on the way home and got some Chinese food for lunch as well as milk.

Finally made it home. Still no message from mom or phone call. Think she's ticked at me. She called to say they were back yesterday and then was upset that I didn't take her clients pills to him. She got off the phone. I said to the hung up phone, "welcome back." Decided to wait for her to call.

Got home and worked on the cross stitch.

I figured out where I went wrong on the leg, and it's coming along fine. I like the way it's coming out, and it's not a big enough "boo boo" to be saying "here I am."

My magnifying glass ran the battery out, so no lights. I had to take a break and power it up. I really need to find something that works for a magnifying glass. The one I have doesn't stay on long, and moves around too much. Plus the light keeps going out. UGH -

So, today - not my day - but that's Life! I'm keeping busy and tomorrow will be just as busy as today. Fingers crossed and life is good. Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Quiet Monday

Today I really wanted to sleep in. I got up anyway. I need to get up early tomorrow for my two appointments. Should be interesting. Then I have two more appointments on Wednesday. Doctors off called and wanted me to come in about my tests. Should be interesting. Guess that's my theme today - "Should be Interesting."

Came back from Cherrill's and vacuumed then got laundry going. I seem to have a heck of a lot of laundry after a weekend. All thanks to Patrick's cleaning. No worries.

Then, I got on the computer and worked on my family tree. I can't seem to put the Wineland's that lived in Oregon in the 1800's with my Wineland's from Kansas. I'll have to get a hold of my Wineland family connections and see if they can tell me where the connection is.

I then sat down and watch a movie on Hallmark Channel and worked on my cross stitch.

I worked on the brown hair. Didn't get a lot done, but will get more done tonight. I changed a brown in the hair. I wanted to have a red flare to the hair. So, I got a brown with red in it. It looks better to me. I didn't want it all brown. I like Katt's hair with the red in it, so wanted to try and get red in on tis as well.

I fired chicken tonight. I was hungry for it. I wish I had learned from grandmother how to make a good fried chicken. I cooked what I took out, but one of the chicken pieces was not cooked completely. So, I put it in the oven. Which pretty much meant I didn't get much to eat tonight. I just couldn't eat it after taking it out of the oven - something about seeing uncooked food that looses a appetite.

Now I need to get moving on my exercises and back to working on Andromeda. Should be interesting!

Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching.

Seahawks Won & I Stitched

Today I slept in longer than I have before. It was nice.

Patrick worked out in the yard, and I baked some cookies for Dan. They were gluten free because I didn't have flour to bake with other than gluten free. They actually turned out great because I eat 5 of them before going bowling tonight!

While the game was on, I worked on my cross stitch.

I got started on the hair today. I've got a few more stitches for the hair, then I can go back and work on the left side. She's coming along nicely.

While I was working on this, I got really tired. I kept feeling lower, so I crawled up on the couch. Patrick was watching the game, and I watched 2 quarters. Then fell asleep on the couch. I slept a good 2 hours. Couldn't believe it, and really didn't want to get up when I woke up. Fixed dinner and was ready for bowling.

Today we were next to the "mean" team. The team they bowled ignored them. Most of the league is ignoring them. There was talk about a team captain meeting, but that didn't happen. Life Patrick and I said, if they don't get mouthy, then we can bowl around them. Just won't talk to them. I bowled a 171, 172, 180. I blew a good game on the last one frame of the last game. I missed my 7 pin and I usually don't do that. We lost all 4 games because the team we bowled all bowled 30-40 pins over their averages.

Life is good, we were busy. Didn't post yesterday because it was the "same-old-same-old." Hopefully I'll stay awake tomorrow and get back to enjoying my stitching. There is a reason we say Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Looking into History

I was up later then I usually am and ended up being late to Cherrill's. She was waiting on her brother-in-law and wife to come get her. She was heading to Raymond, WA to visit the cemetery of family. It's been 3 years since Tom passed.

Came home and played on the tablet. Then went on the computer and printed out some information for Patrick. We need to get a meeting going for our water system. We have new members in the neighborhood, and need to get them to our meeting to see what we do. Hopefully someone new will help out where needed.

Then I decided I wanted to get a few letters typed and put on my "Letter's From the Past" blog. I did get a few done. I have a ton more to do and may try to get another one done tomorrow. I should try to get at least one a day done, but I can't seem to keep up with that. Hard enough at times to remember to write on here. Then I saw some information in the letters that made me want to check and see if they are in the family tree. Of course, that put me into checking out the newspapers as well.

Patrick got home when I was just getting into getting information from newspapers. So, tonight was "date night" and we went to McMenimens for dinner and a movie

We watched the Tom Cruise movie that's based on a true story. It was pretty good. Not a movie that we would normally see, but was worth it when we had movie and dinner at one place.

Now we're home and watching the Halloween Wars on TV. Life is good! Tomorrow I'll get back to being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

One Appointment After Another!

This morning I was up after Patrick, and out the door by 7:30 am. I had to go for my ultra sounds. I had one on my thyroid and the other was on my lungs. I got there and waited. While I waited I worked on my embroidery. Then after it was over, I was supposed to wait till 10:30 am for my mammogram. This was 9:15 am. They had a cancellation, so I was able to go right in for the mammogram. As much as I hate that test, I know it's needed.

After all that, I went to Starbucks and got myself some tea and a muffin. Their pumpkin cream cheese muffin is awesome! That got me to go back toward the hospital to get to moms. I needed to water the plants. As I pulled up into the yard, I got a call from the imaging center telling me they missed one of my ultra sound tests. She said I didn't have to worry if I eat already, because that test didn't matter if I did. Told her I would be there soon. Got back in the car and went back. It was another 20 mins there. Headed back to moms and watered her plants. Then it was off to the quilt shop for our quilt meeting.

I arrived there around 10:30 am. There were three of us, but more came as the time went on. I could only stay till about 11:40 am because I had another appointment - message therapy.

Between waiting in my appointments and being at the quilt shop, I was able to get the handle close to being done. I like the way it's coming along and it really doesn't take long. The flowers are going to be fun, but right now I don't have the colors I need. May have to go through my floss and see what I have that is close.

I missed out on the groups pot luck. I had to leave before they started. Disappointing but that's okay too.

Had to go to Safeway for milk. I picked up some candy for Tuesday while I was at it.

Came home and got caught up on a couple of my games. Then I sat down to work on my Andromeda gal.

Even though it doesn't look like a lot, it's about 75 stitches worth. It's all in the 1 over 1 area. That goes fast, but doesn't look like it. If I had stayed with the 2 over 2 then it would be going a lot faster. I do like the difference. The lighter colors is where I had a little trouble, and it looks that way. Hoping when the beads and outlines go in, it will look better. If not, I will probably be taking it all out.

Life is good, Life is busy, But Life is still going! In the meantime, looking forward to working on Andromeda and staying Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Another Wednesday Of This And That

Went to help Cherrill this morning. I saw a mouse running around in her rocks in the back yard. He was cute, but at the same time, not good to have. Shame Kitty isn't around, she would have taken care of it. The mouse was grey, black, and white.

Came home and worked on laundry, then cleaned up the house a little. I even got the vacuuming done. I was surprised at how much I really wanted to clean the house. But then I was wanting to get my message therapist figured out. I finally got a message therapist. I'm going in tomorrow for that. As well as having two ultra sounds done. Tomorrow isn't going to be my favorite day, but oh, well, that's life.

Then when I finally calmed down, I sat and watched Murdock Mysteries and worked on my Andromeda piece.

She's looking good. Got about 300 stitches in today. Don't think I got a lot more than that. I'm happy with the way she's coming out, but still wish I used the darker purple then the grey.

We had bowling tonight. I bowled a 154, 209, 211. That's the third 211 this year. We won all four games. Patrick beat me by 27 pins. Now he's a pin higher than me in average. I'll get there yet!

Life is good, we had a wonderful day! Life is still moving along and I'm moving along with it. Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Casino And A Finished Project!!

Today was my day with Art at the casino. We spent the morning at Red Wing Casino. I didn't do so good today. I'm okay with that. What I lost, Art won. So, that's fine. I only won $4 on my Keno. LOL Can't win every time! I'm still ahead for the year.

Stopped and picked up my folks mail. Then I stopped and got myself a Chai tea! Called mom and they said they are thinking of coming home on Friday. Should be interesting as to why they were coming back early.

Came home and worked on my Brazilian embroidery.

This is the true colors. I'm happy to say it's finished.

This is a better photo. I finished up the branches, eyes, and put french knots for pine cones in the trees.

Life is good, I'm happy to be done with a project! Looking forward to working on my next "finish" and being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Brazilian Embroidery Meeting Day

This morning I didn't want to get up, but I did. I headed over to Cherrill's to get her socks on and head to Brazilian embroidery meeting.

Cherrill and I sat together. She needed some help on her piece. I helped her out and cleaned up her back. Pat seems to be teaching a little off for me. I asked for some help on my piece. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with the tree branches. So, I got some good advice and worked on it.

I worked on the first part of the branches while there. I really like the way it came out. Now I'm going to work on more. I'm hoping to get this done by tomorrow. Actually thought I would have it done today, but realized I needed to make my yellow bird a little bigger and I had to do the tail.

So I added the tail and made the yellow bird in the back a little bigger to be seen better. I think it came out pretty good. I have all The branches done. At first I couldn't figure out why the branches weren't coming out right and then realized the bird house is smaller than the birds. I remember we had a size goof at Seminar. The birds are bigger than they are supposed to be. I'm okay with that.

I needed to get some walking in to get my 5,000 steps in, and just had to take a photo of sunset.

Saturday was my nieces big day! She got married in Las Vegas where they live. My brother looks awesome in his uniform! I love the photos I've been sent. Guess we were the only ones that didn't show up. Shame we had so many appointments this week and last.

The happy couple! I wish them all the best!!

Life is good, Life is fun, Life can be busy, and Life can be awesome! Enjoying my time being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Started Out Great...Ended Not So Great....

This morning I was up and moving around 6 am. I just couldn't get back to sleep. I played for awhile. Katt came up and joined me. We had...
