Another beautiful day

Another week has gone by since I have posted on here. One of these days (I keep telling myself) I will be on top of it and post daily.

Last week when I went around to water my flowers - you wouldn't believe what I found! A mushroom of all things!! Don't worry - I don't eat mushrooms I don't know anything about!

After I took the photo, I took it out of my pot. I was surprised at how pretty they are. But it's not something I want in my plants.

Last weekend we enjoyed the time relaxing, or what we would consider relaxing. We cleaned house as usual, went to the casino and then came home and watched a few old movies. One was "How the West was Won." I remembered that movie from when I was a kid. This time I looked at it as a genealogist who wishes she knew more bout the life of her ancestors. Then I looked at it, the way most of us would, who saw the moving in the 60-70's. "Dang, Robert Preston is gone, George Papard is gone, John Wayne is gone, (need I go on??)." Broke my heart to figure only about a hand full of those people are still with us, like Debbie Reynolds and the Livingston kid that was George's son in the end. Ugh!

While I sat and watched the shows, I was able to get some quilting in. Not much because the hot weather kept me from doing a lot. The quilt would be on my lap for a few minutes and then back on the floor. OR Charlie would be in my lap and the quilt would go to the floor. Couldn't win!

On Tuesday I went over to a freinds how and the night before tried to figure out what I would work on while at her place. Patrick said, "What about your cross stitching?' Worked for me, so I took it out of the closet!

I've actually been getting a lot done on this over the past few days. I'm really liking the out come and will try to get this done over the summer. It needs a lot of outlining and that will go quick when I get to the point of doing it.

In the meantime, I went to quilting on Friday and took along the quilt. I was able to get more work done on it then I would have if I left it in the back room.

It's slowly coming alonge. Not sure why I'm dragging my feet over this quilt.

So today we went and checked out the house my son is buying. It's a really nice house that will need a lot of TLC. I'm not sure why, but he didn't seem to be in the mood to talk about it or even go.  We were envited this week, and thought his girlfriend and her family would go look too. Not sure what happened, but we ended up going on our own. Oh, well. I like the house. It needs work, but for the price he paid and what work he can do, will improve it. It would even make it worth more than he paid for it.

Patrick is out in the yard working. He's really got the place looking great, and I'm enjoying the view here on the deck.

Took photos of the flowers growing around here! They are s pretty!!

We have a lot of roses - my favorite too.

And of course we have the blueberries coming up! I've been starting to pick them! Way cool! I'm loving blueberry season!

As you can see, I've been busy and lazy at the same time. I have been doing survey's again on the computer. Love the extra money for quilting. I've been trying to stay away from "trouble" and tend to get in it off and on. I'm enjoying the cooler weather when we have it. Things are moving along. I've been back to my genealogy and found more reliatves out there. I've even been working on getting ino the DAR. I contacted the SAR for papers that can help me get to the DAR. (for those that don't know what that is - Daughters of the American Revolution and Sons of the American Revolution. Forgive my spelling - as I stated in my first blog - I have Dyslexia in Reading and Writing.

Okay, that's it for now, I want to play games for a bit and then get back to my cross stitch. I'm hoping to be Happy Quilting on the days when it's cooler. In the meantime I'm going to be Happy Cross Stitching......
