I wish you all a happy New Year! Best wises for a great new year, and may it be better than this last year!
Last night I went back to quilting on the Hawaiian quilt. I'm getting there. I need to finish 2 borders and then it's done!
Today I went to my Physical Therapist, and he wants me to go back and get an MRI done on my shoulder. UGH
Before and after PT, I was at mom's and we started working on a quilt top together.
We grouped 9 blocks ready for sewing.
This is half the block that we did. It went really fast, and it's really easy. Mom saw a friends quilt that had this pattern and she wanted to do one to.
This is the stack of two that were completed. We actually got 4 blocks done by the time I went home. Mom had to be at a friends house at 3 pm, so we didn't get a lot of time working on this between PT and lunch. I did go early this morning.
I also dropped off my dau-in-law's gift that didn't get here in time. I hope she likes it. So, I'm going bowling tonight, and tomorrow hoping to be Happy Quilting!
This is a blog that shows my quilting, Brazilian embroidery, cross stitch, beading and more. It's a daily blog that shows how busy I can be with too many projects and how lazy I can get at times. Even boring at times. It was originally for my children who where miles away. Now, it's just a blog.

Honey Bee Quilt - FINISHED!!
Today I went to the Mt. St. Helen's quilt group and finished off the last of the binding on the Honey Bee Quilt.
Came home and finished checking all the quilt to see if there was any places I might have missed. I did quilt in three places. I had basting threads that needed to be removed.
Washed the quilt! Dried the quilt! And put it on the bed....woo hoo! It's done! I'm so excited to have this quilt done! It's about 4 days late to get to mom, but Patrick is boxing it up and getting it ready to ship. I hope she loves the quilt as much as I love finishing it!
I even put a label on it! - Yes, me, I put a label on the quilt....most be one of about 3 labels I have put on my quilts,,,,,and yes, I know, you REALLY need to put labels on quits. I'm working on it.
It's a simple label, as Patrick edited it. Think he didn't like all the stuff I put on it! LOL - You should have seen him working on it. Took longer than I did figuring out how he wanted it. Then when I printed it this morning, it was TINY. So, I have to enlarge it and re-print it. But hey, it got done, and it's one the way.
I love the back of this quilt! It's funny, but that was the only way I found things missing on the quilt. I always love the back of my quilts.
The good news is that tonight I'm going to pull out my Hawaiian quilt, and try to get it done! It's an awesome feeling to finally finish a quilt after all this time. I have two more to finish quilting, and then I can get back to some of my other projects. So, today is a Happy Day, and I'm still Happy Quilting!

Patrick's Quilt
I put the quilt out on the bed to see how it would look. It's not as big as I thought it was, but mom made this top years ago, and just finished quilting it in November. She's a lot quicker than I am at quilting. She was quilting this quilt while I was working on my mother-in-laws quilt.
You can seem my Inner City quilt under this one. But this is the quilt that mom hand quilted and gave to Patrick.
Hopefully tomorrow I can take a photo of mom's quilt and get it in the mail by Wednesday. I need to wash it before I ship it. Patrick helped me with a label and I'm going to go print it out here when I'm done writing this.
Mom started on another quilt already. She's also been working on another quilt top as well. She called to tell me she sewed 20 blocks together. She also said something about having enough fabric to make two quilts, and that I could have one too. Since we have mixed the fabrics together, it's both our fabrics, so I'm thinking she thinks I need another top or two out of it. I'm going over on Wednesday to do some cutting for squares. We'll see how it goes.
Charlie has been keeping my lap warm and she is like a little baby! I have to wrap my arms around her to do the binding. At this point, I'm not complaining. Patrick keeps tell me to put her down but if I did, she would get back up there, and we would be doing that all night. She has a thing for my lap. Funny, she never did before. Wish Katt was around, she'd keep Charlie busy.
Let hope I get this done tonight and be back to the Hawaiian quilt! I'm Happy Quilting!

Sewing the Binding!
I was able to finish quilting on the quilt yesterday. It's really looking great! I did find a couple places that I need to finish the quilting, but it's very little. One of the bees body doesn't have the quilting around the outside and another has a small section missing too.
Today I spent the day sewing on the binding. I started some of the binding yesterday. Part of the binding is completely done, but there is still more to do.
It feels good to be this close. I'm hoping we can get this in the mail on Tuesday or Wednesday, and that all depends on me. We worked on a label, which I will print out tomorrow and wash it to have it soft enough to sew on the back.
I'm hoping my mother-in-law likes this. Patrick said it's her colors and she'll love it. I can keep my fingers crossed.
We bowled tonight and won 3 of 4 games. It's a new quarter so we can try to win this quarter. lol When this quilt is done, I'll be pulling out the Hawaiian quilt again and get it done as well. Can't wait to have these two quilts done. I'll also work on the one downstairs.
I was thinking I need to work on my cross stitch and would you believe I have another one in mind for the my next "cross stitch project?" When will I even learn! My mind is wondering to new projects, and I seriously need to finish a few others first! I guess you can say "I'm nutter then a fruit cake," as grandmother would say. I also was thinking I need to cut the black and white fabric into 5" squares for Katt's next quilt. I still don't know why she just wants squares, not 9 patches, all sewn together. It's easy to do, but "Boorrrrrinnnnnggggg." I will try and do that for her though, since that's what she wants. I'm hoping I can be Happy Quilting!

Wonderful Holiday
As I sit here watching the TV and enjoy Charlie next to me, if not on top of me, I'm very thankful for this Holiday. Christmas turned out to be one of our best.
Today, I sat and worked on the quilt. I've gotten another side of the border done. I'm on the last one now.
We played games with the folks last night. It was like always before, Patrick won. Guess it helps when your the score keeper. lol
I don't know what is up with the camera on my phone, but I wasn't have very good luck with the color.
This is our "grandchild" Zeva. She's a kick. She loves attention from Patrick.
Okay, back to today. I chatted with a few family members today. Guess my phone sent off a message to a couple family members saying I called them. Didn't call anyone today though.
I'm almost finished with mom's quilt. My mother worked on the binding last night. She even called me today to see if I finished the quilt. (Laughing), no mom, I didn't finish the quilt. I did get the last corner done. I'm working on it, and when I need a break, I pull my tablet out and play for a few minutes and then go back to quilting.
Today is the day for relaxing. Patrick worked, but I enjoyed having the day to myself. I'm enjoying the process of getting the quilt done. I'm really going to miss not working on it. But I will be thrilled to get it out in the mail to Patrick's mom. I just hope she likes it as much as I loved working on it. Just wish I could have made the deadline. I sometimes think it was my own fault that I didn't make the deadline, as I have a hard time letting go of a quilt I've been working on. And YET I'm still Happy Quilting!

Merry Christmas to All!
Christmas Day was wonderful. Katt called and woke her dad up at 8 am. We chatted with her for awhile. We then went to Phil and Emily's for Christmas with them. Had a blast. Even Zeva (dog) had a good time. It was funny though, both Emily and I gave each other scissors!
We came home and my parents came over. We had Christmas again. Mom gave Patrick a quilt. I hid it in the back room yesterday, so he didn't know there was a bigger package waiting for him.
I took this with the tablet and it didn't do a good job of focusing. He kept moving and this tablet doesn't seem to stop the fuss.
Mom and I went downstairs and cut some squares for her quilt she's going to make. We cut out 2 1/2" squares from the solid fabrics. I got the binding cut out and ironed it in half. We then came upstairs and I quilted on my mother-in-laws quilt while mom worked on the binding. After supper, we played games, and then worked on the quilt again.
Mom fell asleep. She did get a lot of the binding done! I think she has half the binding sewed on by hand. I didn't go that far with the quilting. I did get the third corner quilted. So, I'm over half way. I need to finish this off this weekend. I'm sorry I didn't get it done by Christmas as that was my goal. Can't seem to make my goals. Ugh.
I did get this corner done. I'm about 1/4th of the way on this border. I really do want to have this done by the end of this year. It will be very disappointed if I can't get this done!
Yesterday, we went to the casino and enjoyed a night out. We wanted to do something other than just sitting around. We then went and checked out all the lights around Centralia and Chehalis. There are some really nice houses with lots of lights.
Still working on my shoulder. Had PT yesterday and took him and his family a Scandinavian Almond Bread. We did pretty good this year with not getting candy, till mom and dad came over. Then we got more chocolates. I love chocolate, but really don't need it. lol
I hope each and everyone of you had a wonderful visit with family and friends. That's what Christmas is all about. I had a great year! I loved looking for things for friends and family! I'm blessed to have a wonderful family! My you be blessed as well!
Looking forward to having this quilt done and still being Happy Quilting!

Oops....Planned My Day.....
Yesterday I forgot, and planned my day. After cribbage, came home and worked on moms quilt and watched Christmas shows. Planned on working on the quilt all day......bad idea! My son came over in the afternoon. The phone ran several times, and my afternoon was gone.
I worked on the quilt last night and got close to the corner. That cirner was #2. So i can say one side was finished.
I baked a Scandinavian Almond Bread last night. One of my favorite. I also made another one tonight to give to mt physical therapist for putting up with me. Lol
Today I worked on the quilt all afternoon and am close to my 3rd corner. Looks like this quilt won't be done by Christmas but I'm still going to try. Lol
May you be happy and Merry this holiday. I'm still going to be Happy Quilting!

Getting Closer!
I've been trying to get more done on this quilt for my mother-in-law! I'm getting closer! But still need another day or two before the quilting is done. I guess I can say it will be done before Christmas, but it won't be in the mail for Christmas time, dang!
Mom had the border (bigger flower) done on Friday. So, yesterday and today I've been quilting the "lines" on the black border.
I reached one corner so far. I've gotten at least one side done. The lines were started in the middle of one border, and I went around to the first corner, and am about 20" from the second border with the quilting. Once that is done, I will be putting the binding on.
This morning I tried a "new thing" with my cinnamon buns. I make cinnamon buns once in awhile around here. Patrick loves his buns on weekends, but I do it about once a month because we don't need all that "sweets." We watched TV the other day with "Alton Brown" who was making sweet buns. He said to let them raise in the refrigerator over night, then put them in the oven with a bowl of boiling water. Let them sit for 30 mins, and then take them out, preheat oven and the put them back in. I tried that today,
and it worked out awesome!
I put them in two different pans because I made some for our neighbor as well. My "buns" browned really well. I'm really impressed at how that seemed to help the rolls. They turned out pretty good. Patrick didn't think I put enough frosting on, so I had to make more and put more frosting on.
As the day gets closer to Christmas, it doesn't seem like much is going on. I'm going to bake a Scandinavian bread tomorrow.
I'm still having issues with my shoulder. I can't seem to enough my computer, because my shoulder starts giving me fits. I had a little issue with it today quilting. UGH. I'm still going to do what needs to be done, so if I end up getting an MRI on it, so be it. I'm taking each day as it comes.
I hope you are having an awesome Holiday Season, and are Happy Quilting!

When Will I Learn! - Don't Plan For Anything!
Yesterday was another one of those days I planned out. Yea, I made a mistake by planning my day! I got up, went and played cribbage next door, and then headed to mom and dads. I took the quilt with me so mom could help me with the border. I arrived early, waited about an hour before we got the quilt out and started working on it. Then it was time for me to go to my physical therapy. That went well, sore, but well. Got back to mom's house, and had lunch. Well, that's where plans went way off track! I was chewing on my lunch when I felt some hard pieces in my mouth. My tongue then finds a hole in my tooth. UGH! I called the dentist and was told to come in at 3 pm which was about 45 mins from the time I called. Great! No quilting! At least the blocks are quilted and done.
I arrived at the dentists, and waited about 30 mins to get in. As I'm sitting there, pictures are taken for my insurance company. The dentist comes in, and says my filling took part of my tooth out and I need a cap on it. Since it doesn't hurt, I was able to leave without it being padded. I'm walking around with a hole in my tooth.
I get home about 30 mins before Patrick. We go to Walmart to get chicken for the potluck, and there wasn't any chicken to buy. So, we bought some other stuff for the potluck. We bowled badly! We did the gift exchange, and I got a poinsettia with some chocolates, and swissmiss hot chocolate mix. Patrick won a $10 gift certificate for food, games, and/or products.
After yesterday, I decided to heck with trying to plan getting the quilt done, when all this crap keeps happening instead! January is not going to be my favorite month! I have dental work and colon work being done! Think I'll try and skip the month all together!
Today was our groups meeting. We had 5 of us show up and it was a great chit chat meeting. We talked about all kinds of things.
I went to play cribbage this morning and Art wasn't happy with me for sleeping in. He had stuff he needed to do, so we only played 2 games. He told me to be on time tomorrow. He also told me his daughter informed him that when Flo passes, she's going to take a month off and disappear. I thought that was selfish, but he said she needs to do what she needs to do. He's planning on leaning on me while that happens. I don't know what to do. I feel for him but he's not my family, so I don't know what to do. I hinted at him moving to the Colonial House by my folks. Right now, I don't need my time to be taken by taking care of him. I'm between a rock and a hard place. I just hope I can get my stuff done as well.
So, I'm dreaming of being Happy Quilting!

Busy Holiday Season!
I'm back for awhile. Yesterday I went to the doctors and got a shot in my shoulder to help with the pain. It was awesome when he told me to move my arm around. At least that helped for about 2 hours and then the pain was still there. I have physical therapy tomorrow. So, I'm putting ice back on my arm. The doctor told me that he may need to do a MRI on my shoulder. Possible surgery, and not going there!
The Christmas Party with the Thursday group was a lot of fun. Ended up with fabric, but not colors I work with. No worries, we have blocks that we do, so can use them for that. I won the Coke Bear that is a speaker!
The Christmas Party for bowling was fun. That was Sunday for the travel league. I bowled a 211. I also won some hot pads, tree decorations, and wash clothes. We bowled on Sunday night and I bowled a 258, missing a 600 series of 599.
We have been busy with buying gifts. I've been buying and saving money at the same time. I like the eBates, as I've been getting good discounts with that. I also have been betting discounts on the food I buy with ibotta. I have been picking things up for the family.
This morning I was supposed to take Art (my cribbage gamer) to the eye doctors, but when I got over there, I found out he already let. I found out later, that he got a call from the Cooks Hill Manor where his wife is, that she now has a lot less than 2 months to live. She's getting worse. She asked him if she could come home for Christmas, but that won't happen. He said he had to leave after that. He's hurting and I can see that.
Since I wasn't taking him to the doctors, I decided to go to the store and pick up a few more gifts for Patrick. I came home and started wrapping - still in the wrapping stage at that.
I at least have the bags for Patrick and I. I like wrapping the bags more than having to wraps all the gifts.
These all go to the bowling alley for our Wednesday group. So this is ready for tomorrow night.
Katt's gifts getting ready to mail to her.
Made tea in my Christmas mug to get me in the mood. I still have more gifts to wrap but will do those later.
Since it's just the two of us this year, we went small. This is our 3 ft tree. I also decided to cut back on decorating and have a snowman on the table center with my table runner I made over 10 years ago.
So, you can see, our theme this year is snowmen. I don't have a lot so it worked out. I do have more around the house, but not near the decorating I usually do. It doesn't seem worth the effort when it's just Patrick and I.
And my flowers are growing and coming out.
I worked on mom's quilt last night. I should have the last block done today, and will get working on the border. I'll go to mom's tomorrow and we will work on the borders. Mom finished half the border so far.
As I write this, my mail lady honked and gave me 3 packages from all the gifts we bought on line. Now I have a lot more gifts to wrap. Thought I was doing good today, but NO, no such luck. Never ending game of wrapping gifts. Woo hoo!
I'm behind on my letter for Christmas Cards. Patrick is "tweaking" it.
My cabinets downstairs have been a great help, and I found myself using the counter more often then not. Like today, I went and wrapped gifts up down there. I've got drawers of projects and I've got one heck of an organizations going, so much so, that I can't remember were I put things. You should see me going around in circles. lol
Okay, I need to get moving and work on my quilt. It's 3 pm and I feel like I haven't done anything. I need to get my turkey soup going.
Best wishes on this Holiday Season, and hopefully I can get back to posting daily. I have missed that. May you be Happy Quilting!
You should see me going around in circles. lol

Getting Ready for the Holidays
It's been busy the last few days. Between Christmas parties and getting the house ready for the holidays, I'm getting tired of all the work! lol
We put the tree up today, went through all the ornaments, and divided up some of the older ornaments for the kids. We must have emptied 2 or 3 boxes of Christmas stuff, to put it all back and find out it didn't help with the room down there. Ugh. I went simple today. I'll take photos later.
I was working on my gift for the party tomorrow. I overstuffed the pincushions and ended up taking them apart and re-sewing them up. I haven't had a great time with getting ready for the party. I can't believe the trouble I was having. But, hay, that's life.
I used to make a lot of these, and for some reason I forgot what I was doing. I just wish I had better buttons to put on it. The runner under the pincushions is one I made when I was working on the "Master Quilter" program with The Embroiderer's Guild. While I was doing it, I found they had judges that were judging on color choices, and whether or not they liked my piece. So, after getting half way through the program I called it quits. If I even join back up, I can continue, but doubt I will.
I cut out the pieces for the Santa block I wanted to do for the blocks. I got it out of a Fons and Porter magazine. I'm not crazy about the pattern, but I thought I would try it out. Not happy with the way it turned out and if I had more time, I would redo it. But since it needed to be done by tomorrow, I was stuck.
I need to remember to take my camera to the party tomorrow.
Now I can work on getting the quilt done. Right now Charlie is sleeping on it. LOL
The wind has been blowing like crazy around here. Our swing set on the deck has been knocked over. I'm betting there will be a few sticks out in the yard, if not branches. It's been blowing like crazy, and a few times the light was flickering. Luckily we haven't lost the power yet. We brought out the candles, so maybe that helped with the power staying on! You know how it goes, if you don't have candles handy, then the power goes out. When you know where the candles are and are ready to pull them out, power stays one. At least that's the way it goes at our house.
Hopefully this weekend I can get my Christmas letter done. If not, I'll just sign the cards and send one message to each person. I really need to get busy with the letter. Wish me luck!
I'll be back in a couple days. Still trying to behave, and take a break with my shoulder. I'm hoping the doctor will help fix the problem so I can post daily again....I can hope! I'm hoping and trying to be Happy Quilting!

One Party Down
Today was our Christmas Party with the Mt. St. Helens group. It turned out pretty good. I did win one "Quilto" game and I did the gift exchange.
Yesterday I worked on the block for the exchange. I didn't win the blocks, but my dad's cousin's ex-wife did. So, I guess you can say it was in the family.
I designed the block, so it had a few more pieces then I realized. That's okay, because it still got done. It took me a little longer than I hoped, but I'm not complaining.
The ribbon, I think I would do a little differently next time. The "bow tie" area doesn't show and I think I would rather do the background color on the "bow tie" area.
This was the end result. It's not perfect, but it turned out better than I expected. There really wasn't room to lower the one ball more. I would piece the "top" of the ball first on the bottom ornament, then put the top ornament over it. As they say, "You live and learn."
I'm not having much luck with the medications the doctor gave me for my stomach. It really isn't working, other than to give me 5 lbs (that I lost) back. I'm ticked. I called the nurse and left a message, just hope she calls me back. I'm not liking being out of breath and gaining weight.
I need to get moving on my gifts for the Thursday group that is meeting on Friday. I also need to do a block for that group, and may do something different then the balls. I have to use a beige fabric and not sure I have that.
As much as I like making blocks for these groups, it's really funny how the only blocks I win are the ones that I don't want. The ones I'd love to have are the ones someone else gets. Too funny!
I'm still working on my shoulder, and I have a doctors appointment on Monday. Funny how one makes an appointment with the doctor and then the shoulder starts to feel better! It would be awesome if I could cancel the appointment, so I would have to get a shot in the arm, but I'm not THAT lucky.
I will try and quilt tonight, or I may be working on my gifts for the next gift exchange. One of the gifts I ordered hasn't arrived yet, and I ordered it on the 1st from "Quilt in a Day." Never did get a notice it was shipped, so I'm hoping it will show up soon. If not, I will have to put the drawing with the gift and tell them it is coming.
In the meantime, I will be trying to behave and give a day or two before posting here. I have gotten so used to posting every day that it's driving me nuts not to be able to post. In the meantime, I am trying to be Happy Quilting!

Just Can't...Take It Easy!
I have been busy. Not with quilting, but with everything else. I have two blocks I need to do, and one is due on Tuesday.
So, I just can't take it easy any more. It's not in me to be lazy and relax, actually I CAN'T relax. Never could. Even my PT tells me to relax, but I tense up too quick and easy. My arm is letting me know it's there, but I'm going to get stuff done anyway.
Had to show you some of my trip. This was taken on the way to Las Vegas. There were people standing right next to the horseman, so I cut them out - or at least tried.
Patrick waiting on us. lol
This is only a part of what I've been doing. This is SOME of the fabrics I have that are fat quarters and a little bigger. Plus my bolt of black fabric.
Started cleaning up my area, and it's looking a lot better. Found a few things I was looking for, but still looking for some others. I know I have them together, so not too worried.
My cutting board area is getting cleaned up as well. I like having the room (and the draw is open - not broken). I put my patterns in that draw.
My pattern I designed. I have to make it now for the group Christmas party. I was working on cutting out the fabric and getting it ready to applique.
Got the colors all ready. The lighter gold is the main color for the bow and the darker the inside color. I'm not sure if I will like it that way, but I'm going with it, because of the print on the lighter color.
Finally finished up on what I was doing and my table top isn't messy anymore. I need to get Christmas stuff out of the closet under the stairs. Bet my table top will be full again with that stuff.
I have a few things I'm going to start putting up on Listia to get rid of them. (Link on the side bar).
Tonight is bowling, so I'm going to close this, and will try to wait 3 days before posting again. Will have to see if I can behave. I'm just wanting to finish stuff and stay Happy Quilting!

Quilting Day....
Today was quilting at mom's house. I took the last two days off from quilting because of the shoulder. I'm still have pain, but I'm getting tired of the shoulder acting up.
Went to mom's house for quilting today. Arrived about 10 am, and everyone was already there. It used to start at 10 am, but lately everyone is showing up at 9 am. So, I guess the next time we meet I will be leaving early. UGH. Parking isn't the best either. Some of the group wants to go back to potluck-ing again when they meet on Fridays. I'm against it, so I guess when they meet in the new year I'll be leaving at lunch time. It worked out so much better when we were brown bagging it. Two of us can't eat some foods, and everyone seems to forget when they bring food. That's okay, I'll just come home and work on my stuff when I get home. We are doing a potluck at our next meeting and not gifts. They didn't want to do any exchanges, so it's just a meeting day.
Mom had half the border done when I got there. I worked on the two borders that were there. I need to do four more sashes. I have one more block and then it's done. I need to "outline" the sashing edge. I'm hoping to get a lot done this weekend, but have a feeling Patrick is going to pull another busy weekend on me. I still need to work on my quilt room.
I saw my Hawaiian quilt in the other room and can't wait to be working on that again. I still need to do the binding and part of the border.
All this, and I have to "take it easy" for my shoulder. It's driving me crazy! I want to get moving on this quilt and I have two blocks to make for the two Christmas Parties. So, as you can probably tell on this blog, I'm not happy.
I CAN'T WAIT TO BE HAPPY QUILTING!!
See you in three days......

Bad News, But Not That Bad
Today was my day for Physical Therapy. After getting filled in on Flo, and winning one game of cribbage, I headed to moms.
While at mom's I marked the border of the quilt for her to quilt. She was quilting while I was at Physical Therapy.
Now the bad news, my right shoulder is not improving, and I've also got the tendinitis in my elbow. I have the possibility of a "frozen shoulder." I can't reach behind my back. So, I found out, even though I'm left handed, I have been using my right hand way too much. I realized I was reaching and moving things with my right hand more than using my left hand. Why, I have no clue. But I do know I grew up in a right handed house. So, in talking with my physical therapist, I found out that using my fingers to quilt have not been helping the issue. He knows I want to get the quilt done by Christmas, and his comment was that once it's done I need to take a break to get my arm back in shape. I also use my fingers to type on my blog, and play games.
With that being said, I am going to back off on my blog by not writing on her every day. I will post what I have done and how things are going, but it won't be every day. I will try to get a post in at least every 3rd days. Every little bit helps - as I'm told. If I can get this back to normal, I can get back to the daily postings. I've got one more visit with the therapist and a doctors appointment a week from Monday. Chances are I'm going to get a shot in my shoulder to easy the swelling. I won't know till then what my next step will be. I'm going to continue with the exercises and I'm going to back off on quilting for a short time, after the quilt is done for mom. At least my mother is helping, she has the quilt till Friday. I'm going to try and finish it up this weekend if she has all the border done for me. Mom quilts fast, so I know it will be farther along then it is now.
A friend is coming over tomorrow, and not sure what I'm going to do. I will try to do behave and hope to be back (soon) HAPPY QUILTING!

Day of Quilting...Or At Least Tried
Today started out behind. Ruth was waiting at the corner for me to show up and she was 10 mins early again today. So I made her wait for me. She keeps blaming her dog Willie. lol Hate it when she gets early, 'cause I can't eat breakfast before I go.
I went to play cribbage next door to find out Flo ended up in the hospital (emergency) and Art told me he and his daughter don't think she will be coming home. Looks like the cancer has taken a hold of her and it doesn't look good at all. I pray for her, and I know she's in pain. She was talking about how she wanted to be around with her gr grandchildren and go to their graduation. Unfortunately I don't think that is going to happen. I was going to take flowers over to her today, but Art never did call and tell me what her room was. Patrick said Art was home when he came home, and that makes me wonder if she's still okay.
I don't have photos to share today, so I decided I needed some "color" in the blog. It's so cold here that I'm looking forward to March already.
I went to the Mt. St. Helen's quilt group today. It was a potluck. I really didn't want to take the quilt with me this time. I took the applique blocks from Nancy Lee Chong's pattern. As I was getting ready to work on them, I realized I didn't have my thread. So, that left with with nothing to do, till one of the gals said she had a quilt to bind and I could do that. Since it was small, I was able to get one side done for her. After the potluck, I decided to call it a day, and head home. Got home about 1:00 pm, worked on laundry and headed downstairs.
While I was downstairs, I worked for an hour on my quilt room. I put stuff away, while talking on the phone. Then I put more stuff away, and moved a few things around. I put the fat quarter fabrics and moved them above the others in the cabinet. I took the threads out of the cabinet where the fabric is now, and put them in the center cabinet. The wall cabinets has my fat quarter fabrics. I moved the threads into the cabinet Patrick put together for me. I put my "odds and ends" of buttons, snaps, and "eyes" in a container. I have so many little things I don't know what to do with, that it's getting hard for me to decide. I may end up throwing things out.
Charlie has been following me around. I've been trying to get moving and it doesn't seem to happen. So, I'm going to close this and get my rear in gear and be Happy Quilting!

Back On Schedule
Charlie was waiting for me this morning. I went out the front door this morning for walking. We walked in 12 degree weather. Ruth must be crazy to want to walk when it's that cold, but we took a short walk. I then went next door to see my neighbor for cribbage. Found out his wife isn't doing very well. She's got more cancer in her liver and now it looks like it's in the bones. We need to pray for her. She's still thinking positive and still has her humor, but it's getting harder for her to do that. She's 68 years old, and smokes, but now I'm thinking she finally quit when she found out she had it in the liver. She was going to the doctors today, but after I got home, the ambulance showed up. Not sure if they took her, but I'm betting they did. I can just hope she's doing okay. I won two games out of three.
Then I headed over to mom's with the quilt, hoping to work on the quilt with her. She had her prayer group there, so I went on to my physical therapy. After PT, I went back to moms and they were still there, so I called it good and said goodbye. I know better than to go on Mondays to quilt with her, but thought she said yesterday that we could quilt. I didn't want to wait around for 2 hours before she would or could sit down to quilt. I checked out her quilt room and was amazed at how she "dumped" her stuff in the drawers. I would have thought she would organize it better, but she said she will do that later. The counter top is still not on the cabinets, so it really does look like a mess.
After leaving, I headed to Walmart (not my favorite place to shop). I picked up some stuff for the pot luck tomorrow and I also got a gift for one of the groups. I don't know if they will do the Christmas Party with moms group, but I bought a gift anyway. I guess it's a wait and see thing. I did get $3.75 back on the Ibotta coupons. They have a bonus that has my team earning $10 every time we combine our rebates to $10. It's a special this month. Usually I only earn about $5 in the month, but this month I can get $30 if I keep getting rebates from them. I cashed in $30 so far, and I wasn't buying all that much.
Got home, and started a load of laundry (which I need to put in the dryer). I sat down and Charlie came to sit with me. I was enjoying my time with her and just let the afternoon go by. I played a few games, got one of my "badges" on pogo, and will sit here quilting before much longer.
My quilt room needs attention, and don't know if I will get to it today, but I need to clean it up for when my friend comes on Thursday. So, I will try and work on it tomorrow, and again on Wednesday.
Patrick found a couple boxes of photos downstairs and I was going through them. Most are of our family, but I did find some that goes with my family history.
This is of me when I was round 20 years old. That was my favorite "jacket"/"sweater." It was comfortable. I loved those glasses! I would still wear big glasses like that now, if my hubby would let me lol.
I found this photo of my grandmother's cousin. This is Wilda Simpson. She made beautiful quilts. She had mom make a quilt block for her, and made a quilt with all the family blocks put together. I never did see the quilt, but I loved the block mom made. I would love to see that quilt. Trouble is two of her three sons have since passed away as well. I really like this photo of her quilt.
As you can see, I've got a family that has been (for years) Happy Quilting!
