I've been getting a few things done. I've been working on the Affairs of the Heart quilt blocks. I've gotten three of them one so far. Need 6 more and then I'll be done. I am planning to do the embroidery on them soon.
I've also been quilting on the Hawaiian quilt and getting a lot more done. I've gotten to the edge of the quilt so far. Soon I will be working around the flowers in the white area. I have photo's and will post them later this week.
My daughter is here from Pullman and my hubby made plans to go to Las Vegas. So, we'll see how much gets done while I'm being busy.
This is a blog that shows my quilting, Brazilian embroidery, cross stitch, beading and more. It's a daily blog that shows how busy I can be with too many projects and how lazy I can get at times. Even boring at times. It was originally for my children who where miles away. Now, it's just a blog.

Finding all kinds of "stuff"
Well, the last couple days have been a lot of fun! I'm finding a lot of goodies lately and they are not all related to genealogy.
This newspaper clipping was in a letter I wrote to my parents - why they kept the letter, I do not know - but I did throw out the letter and kept this.
I also found a photo of a block I won 1st place in the Sunbonnet Sue contest. No, I don't have the block - it is in the museum of Sunbonnet Sue's. I later had the magazine that it was published in bound so I could keep it as a book.
I still have this book.
I have also gotten close to completing #29 block of Affairs of the Heart. Then I should have 30 blocks done. Haven't figured out why I skipped a block or two closer to the end, but I did. So, this should have me at 30 blocks finished. Which leaves me with about 6 blocks left. I'm now determined to finish them.
Busy day today, hopefully tomorrow I can be Happy Quilting....

Can you believe it?
WOW! Three days in a row. Wonder how long that will last. lol
Okay, now that I was able to get the camera cleaned, I can now take good photos. lol
Here are some of the photos from my Affairs of the Heart quilt. I joined this quilt as a BOM. I have been working on the blocks for about 1 and 1/2 years now. I got discouraged when my mother finished her quilt before I did. She started after me, and didn't pay for the BOM. She's faster at applique and quilting than I am. So, I was irritated when she finished hers and I still had 8 blocks to go. I finally sucked it up and started working on the blocks again. So, in the last week, I finished one block and started another one. Found out I was getting out of "turn" when I finished block #30 before block #29. So, now I'm on #29.
After taking the photo's of the blocks, I found out they look pretty good in the photos. LOL Funny how things look better if one can look at them in a different way.
Now you can see what I've been up to when I said I've been working on the Affair of the Heart quilt blocks.
So now you have an idea of what I've been up to. The embroidery is varigated (sp) and I use 3 hand dyed flosses for it. I use what I feel goes with the block. I did havene block where it did look lost, but it still helped the block.
The weather is wonderful here. I'm enjoying the feel of getting back into finishing this quilt. I need to get it done for daughters wedding day next JUNE.
Since I have some medical issues that will be worked on Wednesday, I will try and get a few things done. Wednesday I probably won't be in the mood to work on anything, but I'm hoping.
In the mean time....Happy Quilting.

One of those Days
Today is one of those days, where you get a lot done, until you want something you can't find.
I was able to get 4 loads of laundry out on the line, with another one going out shortly. I played on the computer this morning. Started a homemade bread (still rising). Boiled yams for later this week. Cleaned the kitchen. Then sat down for applique on my #30 block of The Affairs of the Heart block. UGH if I do say so myself. Of course, I had to take out just as much as I put in. UGH but it got done. I finally finished the block. It turned out pretty good considering.
Then I decided I needed to photograph it for the blog.....WELL....that's where the "looking" part comes in. No, I didn't loose my camera. I wanted to clean the lens before I took a photo. Uh huh, I had the lens cleaners that my hubby brought home for me......Where...good question. So, I looked and looked. No luck. Gave up.
Well, as I sit here typing, three guesses what my hubby just brought me. I asked him over an hour ago where they were, we both questioned the areas, I looked. Now, sitting here next to me is the lens cleaning pad! Question, "Where did you find it?" Answer: "Draw by the calendar." Question: "What made you think of that??" Answer: "Just came to me."
Okay, hum, now I'll go clean my camera and get some photos for you to see what I've been up to yesterday and today.....Still happy Quilting...

July came fast
July came so fast, I didn't realize it was here when it arrived. lol
I've been trying to get a few of my projects done, but haven't been so lucky lately. I am working on block #30 of the Affairs of the Heart quilt. I'll post photo's later, so I can add them to my yahoo group that I'm in.
So, I finally got together with my friend and we made bags. Her and I made each other a bag with our monograms on them. (above)
It took us two days to complete. The first day we cut out the pattern, and did the monograms. We sewed the "circle" and called it a day. Then about 4 days later, we finished up sewing the rest of the bag. It went pretty fast, so we ended up with two really good grocery bags.
I haven't started on the P3 BOM #3 yet. I'm hoping to do that soon. Right now I'm trying to finish the AOTH block instead. Need to finish the quilt so that I can get it quilted for my daughter and her future husband. I'm needing to get it done before June next year when the wedding will be.
Today, we had a great trip to Mt. St. Helen's to check out how's it's changed.
The drive was wonderful and enjoyed seeing the mountain come a live the closer we got.
Taking photo's from the car as we drive gets interested.
But they still turned our pretty good.
Got to the top and took this photo. The mountain is growing pretty good from the first time I was it when the mountain blow. I still remember that day, and the friends that lost family members at the mountain.
Had hubby take a photo of me. Not the best, but can live with it. lol
I enjoyed the new flowers growing up in the mountain. The wild flowers that grow all over the mountain. Not sure what kind of flowers these are but I really liked them. Took photos so I can use them for designing.
All in all, a fun day.
I've been quilting on my two quilts every chance I get. I'm hoping to have them done by December but who knows.
In the meantime....Happy Quilting...
