After Two Days Of Sleeping

Today, I was getting ready to get back to normal. No such luck. I was up and sore. I had my PT today so didn't do much till it was time to go.

Gave Bob all the information I had from my last appointment. Told him to keep the information. I didn't need it. He worked on my hip and then he told me I need to walk with a stick. I walked with one he had and we talked about it. I could order one, but just not sure if I want to. I may not use it much. We will see. I will check with mom.

Came home and we left for the casino. We got the gift after we were done. It was interesting though, because the sign was up, they were out of gifts. I'm glad I had a ticket for mine. It's a pizza oven that can be used in a grill. Interesting. If nothing else a gift at Christmas time. lol We stayed about 3 hours. Played pretty good. But after a while I was just tired and worn out. So, we came home.

I was telling Patrick I had point at McD's that needed to be used today. He told me he didn't feel like McD's today "but maybe tomorrow." I could have kicked him! No worries, but it bugs me when I bring things up and he says, "maybe later." Then we miss out of free stuff. UGH, MEN, they don't get it!

I'm still under the weather. I even wear a mask when I went to see my PT. Didn't want him to get what I have. He told me his daughter and whole family have COVID. The baby is only a couple months old too! I pray they get better soon. I didn't think of covid, so I didn't test myself.

I played search and find tonight. Not in the mood for my war games lately. I will do my daily but won't be working it for a while.

Tomorrow I'm dropping off quilts in Olympia. I am going to give her a bolt of fabric that we haven't used. Maybe she can use it with her group. I haven't done anything even close to being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Slept All Day

Woke with the cold that everyone has. I got it from someone, and I have a good idea who. OR I got it from staying at the grange those 4 days.

I pretty much slept in the afternoon, and now I'm heading back to bed. Patrick was watching football and football and then news. Football and then Funniest Home videos. So, not even worth getting out of bed for. I told Sandy in a text to "shoot me now," for having to watch all that stuff. The cable guy came out and fixed our cable. Now it's supposed to work better. I'm sure it will.

That's how I felt today! Wasn't even Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Another Quiet Day

This morning, I slept till about 9:15 am. I wanted to keep sleeping. That's fine. Maybe next time I will. When I'm not feeling well, I just want to sleep.

I played games today. I wasn't in the mood for much else. Till after supper anyway.

Patrick slept on the couch for a couple hours and I just played my games and chatted with friends on the game. I'm learning a lot, and one actually helped me. So, I may be getting better at this yet!

Then after supper, I baked a blueberry zucchini bread. I'm not sure where Patrick got the recipe. It turned out really good too.

I also decided to get some applique going, since I needed to get a couple things done. I pulled the dog out.

I changed the thread I was using and started over. I got about halfway when Sophie decided she wanted me to pet her. She climbed in my lap and licked me to get my attention. I will add the ears and tongue when I get it appliqued down. It is coming along okay. The black outline will help it.

Other than that, I didn't do much to make me Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Think I'm Getting A Cold

This morning, I woke with a stuff head, sore throat, and a headache to boot! So, I told Patrick I would be home sooner than planned.

I got up around 8 am and got ready to leave. I need to go to the new CVS store (which doesn't take the insurance needed) and picked up some prescriptions. I then stopped to drop off some veggies for Phil. Had a bucket full. Made him come out and get it, since it was too heavy for me. He gave me cucumbers and zucchini. I dropped one of each off at Colleens when I picked up a quilt she did for the Gala. I also took one of the quilts to be quilted so I could give it to Olympia. That way I don't have to get another top done asap. She's headed out tomorrow. Told her NO hurry. I think I gave her a relief when I took the quilt from her. lol

Then I went to moms. Nancy and Carmen were packed and ready to go on their cruise. They came to the meeting and then left after to head to Portland to get on a flight to Boston. I didn't stay long. There was only Georgie, Nancy, Carmen and mom. I didn't give hugs because I wasn't feeling good. Come to find out a couple of them were feeling pretty bad a few days ago. Just what I needed to hear. I picked up Georgie's duck to work on it. I found she needs to add more applique, so will get it to mom to finish it up for me and then I can finish the backstitching.

The feet need some yellow in it. I brought it home to do the outlining.

I stopped at Applebee's to get a gift card. Then I got the car washed. Got home and figured out I took the WRONG receipt! It was the accounting receipt that they need at the end of the day. I called and told them I would drop it off this weekend. Then I felt really bad about having the gals till off, that I went back and dropped it off anyway.

Got home in time for my war game. To my shock, I'm in the quarter finals and everyone's castle is higher than mine! I don't have enough troops either. I thought I would be out after today, but I made it to the quarter finals. That's next week.

I decided to work on Georgie's duck.

I need to add the tongue. Then I have to have mom add the yellow in the feet. Once that's done, I can finish the back stitch. I like how it comes to life with the black floss. It has more character.

Now, I'm tired and going to call it a day. I can sleep better. Not worrying about the receipt needed to go back to Applebee's is a great relief for me. I did leave the gal a $1 tip for doing that for me. Just wish I had paid more attention before I left.

As much as I wanted to do more, at least I enjoyed being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Enjoyed The Day

Today, I was playing war games twice. We didn't win either one. lol

Then I enjoyed watching TV while Patrick was golfing. I was able to get a few shows in before he got home.

Then he went outside and worked in the garden. After that, he slept on the swing. He needs his naps during the day. lol

I was able to work on my beading.

I received my Round Robin today. Erin Ferre sent this. I need to think about what I want to add. We can add anything we want. It will take me a bit, but I will see what I come up with. May have to look at the old crazy quilts to see what I can do.

I finished number four. I was doing this during Seahawks game and it wasn't helping me!

Started number five.

I had to go watch the last of the game, so this was on hold while I kept running back to the TV to see if we won! YES! WE DID!! Awesome!

Since my day was pretty much stitching and watching TV, it turned out to be a very good day. Tomorrow is another story, since I'm heading to moms. I have a few things to do before and after. It will keep me busy. But at least for today, I was Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Two For One Day

This morning, I was up earlier than usual. Patrick stayed home. It's his "day off" for golfing. He will be back at it tomorrow.

I spent the morning downstairs, cutting backing and batting for 7 quilts. I have been washing the backing all day. Since I wash them in hot water, it takes about 2 hours to get them washed. So, I put 2 or 3 of the same color in at once. Had 3 loads today. I will be taking 10 of them up to Olympia next week. I need to do another one or two. I'm waiting on more bigger quilts instead of the small ones that we can't use.

Came up to watch TV when Patrick decided to go outside and washed the windows. So, I couldn't watch my show for very long, because of the water hitting the windows. I had to pause off and on to be able to hear the show.

I was working on my beading while trying to watch the TV.

Have more to do but at least I'm getting there. I was able to get this far and realized I needed to get the dog ready for Bob's grandson's quilt.

I do a lot better with "back basting" and I pulled out my light to get it ready. I'm going to use some felt and embroidery to finish him off. Which made him easy, I just do one full piece, add the felt and then do the outline stitch in black. It will be perfect. The hard part is getting it marked for embroidery. I may have to use the light box again to see if I could mark it. We will see.

Once I get moving to applique this down, then I can get moving on the felt in the places it needs to be. I love the color. Not sure if I have thread for it but will look.

Today was a 2 for 1 days because I was both Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Usual Casino Day

This morning, I slept till 9 am. I didn't want to get up. I was up for a bit just before Patrick left to go golfing. If I was smart, I would have gotten up when he left. That way I could have the morning to myself. But, NOPE, I slept.

I played on my tablet till he got home. I was watching my show when he arrived, so I told him he had to wait about 30 minutes for my show to be over. Then I got ready to leave.

We headed to Lucky Eagle Casino to play. We were gone all afternoon. This time we got a "summer" sleeping bag. I don't know if it's any good, but I'm sure one of us will us it one day. I could always give it to Phil. At least Katt took the bags we got last month and the tent. I think next month is sheets spread out for 4 weeks. We did okay, but not very well. What we own went back into the games.

I did drop off the certificate for one of the veterans, at the post office. Then I went to the bank and got a cashier's check for the amount of money we got from the garage sale. When we got home, I got that ready to mail as well.

We talked about going to Costco when I have my doctor appointment on the first. I realized it's next week. So, I sent a message to Sherry to let her know we will be up there. I need to take 10 quilts up to get quilted. Trouble is, I only have 4 ready, so I need to do the batting and backing for the others. I will try and do 4 of them tomorrow and the other 2 another day. It should take long, I just need to do it. I'm glad I took the time to mark the sizes in order to cut the fabric and batting. That's a job for tomorrow.

Which made today a day that I wasn't Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Another Monday Without Embroidery

Today was BE day. It ended up that the others were busy, so we cancelled yet another. I believe this is 3 x this month.

So, I slept in while Patrick went golfing. I got up and played for a bit. Then I got laundry going. Only one load. I believe it's still in the dryer. lol - Guess I will "fluff" it up tomorrow and then fold the clothes.

We didn't do much today. Patrick and I watched some TV. Then we watched genealogy. I worked on my genealogy before the show. I also got a message from a family member on the BIRGE side of the family. We will work together to get more done on the families.

I then charged my tablet and pulled out my beading.

I guess you can say, I'm halfway done. That's like saying the glass is half full. I'm looking on the good side of things. lol Three done, three to go. Then do that 2 more times at least. Should be interesting to see if I can get them all done. I will try.

I did start number four. lol

Not much going on. Katt left early this morning. She was gone before I was up.

I have been doing better with my leg and back. Not as good as I should, but it's getting better.

I did receive the Lewis County Court summons for November. I decided to get out of it because I'm over 65 and have trouble sitting for very long. Plus, at this age, I have better things to do or what to do. November had a couple days of appointments, and we are always gone on Tuesdays. So, it would have been hard to say I wanted every Tuesday and the dates for my appointments. Plus, if I get back to PT, then those days would have to be listed. Too much trouble, even though I would like to serve on a jury. I did it about 4 times in my life.

At least I found time today to get back to Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Enjoying A Visit With Katt

This morning, I was just being lazy. Then I needed to get a few things done. So, laundry was started, and I cleaned the kitty litter (tmi).

Once I had all that done, with the dishes washed and put away, I sat down to play. Once I was done with the war game, I came in the computer room to work on genealogy, since it will expire in a couple days. I was okay with that. It costs way too much to keep it.

About the time I was getting a few things straightened out, Katt arrived in her Coke truck.

I love the truck! She was working in Edmonds yesterday and today. Then in the morning, she's heading to Wilsonville OR. So, we took the time to enjoy her company.

We played games and laughed! It was so much fun! I don't think I laughed so hard for a long time. We talked about what we did in the past. Places we went to and things we did. It was a very enjoyable day. Unfortunately, not a day of Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Final Day Of Garage Sale

This morning, I was out the door by 9:15 am. I arrived early and Colleen beat me there. Debbie showed up around noon. We stayed all day for the sale. It was slow. I was surprised at how much we made because we didn't have much in the way of people buying - at least that I saw.

Around 4 pm, a gal come in and bought half of the fabrics we had left. She was on video with her daughter, showing the fabrics to her on zoom. They picked them together. It took quite a while to get it done. All three of us were working it. We gave her some deals as well because they were doing it for WSU's medical center. Her daughter sews surgical caps, blankets and other things for their unit. So, she did good! It would have been over $500 more if we stayed with the prices. We marked everything down in half. We halved the prices because we didn't want to take all that back. When we were done, we left the odd fabrics and some of the other stuff like threads, with the grange.

We are planning to be in the next garage sale in February because we had a few people say they have more fabric they want to give us. Some are cleaning out their parents' fabrics etc. It works for us.

Mary came and helped out the last hour. We loaded the stuff in our cars and then went to Panda Express for supper. We must have chatted for over an hour. Then we unloaded at Colleen's. As I was pulling in the drive, I had a text from Patrick asking if I was okay. I think he really wanted his peanut brittle I was bringing home. lol

Does it count that I was selling quilting fabric; in order to say I was Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching?

First Day Of The Garage Sale

This morning, I headed over to the grange for the garage sale. I was early and waited about an hour for the rest to show up. Colleen was there at 9:30 am and was moving a few things around. We were given another table to use, so that came in handy. We have a few things that needed to be seen.

The first hour of the sale, it was packed! We had so many people come and check out our fabrics. We also sold a ton of it but still have plenty left. I just posted on Facebook what is left and hope more will come for the rest of it. I left after the first hour. Mom and Nancy showed up. Mary was to come later. I decided to let them have fun and I would go back later for the money. lol

I stopped at Phil's on the way home. Love to say hi to my son!

Got home and just relaxed. My back needed it. It doesn't like the chairs at the grange. Mom was so excited! She was telling me about how they sold a lot of stuff. I was glad to hear it. We paid for the tables and still made out! It was awesome! Patrick came with me. We decided to go to the casino after.

I didn't know we had some Daisy Kingdom stuff. That is hard to find anymore.

This is only a part of what is left. We hope to sell more tomorrow! I will get some fabrics ready tomorrow when we are done, to give to the church. Colleen wants to do another sale, and at this rate, we can do it.

We headed to the casino. I had to figure out how to hide the money from the sale. I took it out of the box and then bagged it in another area of the car. It worked. No one broke in. lol We didn't do very good though. No worries. We are getting used to it. The noise was LOUD, and we were done after about an hour and a half. I like it better in the daytime. Friday nights are for drinkers, and we are not that.

Came home and decided to call it a night. Katt called for a bit. We will see her on Sunday. I need to get her bed made for when she gets here.

It's been a long day and I'm beat. The noise from the casino is still ringing in my ear. UGH And again, NOPE, I wasn't Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Garage Sale Prepping

This morning, Patrick was out the door to go golfing. I got up a little later and was out the door to get to the garage to set up for tomorrow's sale. Colleen was already there.

We opened all the boxes and got them out. We have everything. My back did not like any of the work I did. We needed to get it all out there. I'm hoping we can get most of this sold. There is so much that we need to get rid of it. Poor Colleen was storing all this. There is Christmas stuff as well.

I worked with Colleen and Mary for about 3 hours. We were able to get everything done that needed to be done.

We pulled batiks out for Sandy. She will pick them up on Saturday. This is 3 tables worth of stuff. Way too much to be able to store it "nicely" with just 3 tables. Colleen stayed behind, I think she wanted to see what else she could to.

I headed to the museum to get our information to leave out. Just before I wrote here, I had to go on Facebook and post the garage sale information on several Lewis County sites. I should have done it sooner, but oh well.

Came home and call it good. My back was ticked off at me. So, I needed to sit and rest the back. The chairs at the museum are not going to help me. I may need to be a padding with me. Will be interesting to see how it goes. I will go first thing in the morning and then go back around 5 pm to collect the money. Then on Saturday, I will be there all day.

So, nope, it wasn't a day to be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Getting Ready For Our Garage Sale

This morning, Patrick went to his PT appointment, and I was visiting with mom. I got to see the photos of my great nephew. He's adorable! He's also a year old now.

I was checking out mom's applique she did for Bob's grandchild. I love what she did.

It brought out the colors when she outlined it in black. I will work on mine later. It's so cute!!

Georgie got her duck done. But now she has to do the embroidery. It's cute too, but I bet the outlining will make it pop! This is fun!

We then went to the Oakview Grange to unload all that fabric we picked up at Colleen's yesterday. It didn't take long to unload. I wasn't doing good with my hip and back. So, I didn't move much. Took the lightest stuff to bring in. I told Colleen I was going to unload today, come back tomorrow to set up and then be there all-day Friday and Saturday. I reminded mom that we needed her and Nancy both Friday and Saturday.  We are in the middle area this time.

We stopped at Safeway to get a few things for supper and whatever else we needed. Then we came home, and Patrick unloaded. I couldn't.

I worked on my beading for a bit.

I was able to work on my beading for a bit. For some reason, I'm just not there yet. YET AGAIN! I need to get this going and I'm stalling. UGH I may take it with me to the garage sale to work on. I don't know. I have a game going at 1 pm Friday and want to play in it, so I'm not sure how that will work. May have to take my tablet. UGH

So, today was no excuses, at least I made it a point to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Back To Olympia

Patrick was golfing this morning. I was sitting and watching BritBox. I wanted to watch a couple shows that I don't get to see when he is here. And if I do, I end up stopping in the middle because he comes in wanting to watch something else.

I didn't work on anything today. I got my stuff ready to go out in the mail. When Patrick got home, we watched - of all things! - news. Then we were off to my appointment for my ankle. I told him about the hip, so he ordered an X-ray for that. He didn't seem to care what PT said. I told the nurse he sent some information. Guess neither one of them looked at what Bob sent. My doctor is so weird! He asks questions, then he tell me "we can do this, or we can do that." But he doesn't say what he wants done. I had to ask, "What do you suggest?" Of course, that didn't go far either. He was saying he could put a shot in the ankle but because there are 3 areas that could be the issue, we wouldn't know which one it was. Yah, not sure about this guy. But I will go with what he says for a bit. I may end up changing to another doctor. But before I do, I will ask my doctor what she thinks of this guy.

We then headed over to Colleen's to load up the truck. Once that was done, we headed to Rite Aid. Then stopped at Phil's to drop a few things off. Rite Aid is changing to CVS in about 10 days. It's almost empty and it has a lot of Rite Aid stuff removed from the walls. They need to have people come in in the middle of the night to change things. Maybe that's what they do. It's looking bad right now, but hopefully by the 23rd it will look better.

Next we went to Dairy Queen for supper. Not that I needed that! Patrick wasn't in for Panda. I've already gained weight after this weekend. Oh, well.

Came home and played on my tablet. Wasn't in the mood to do much else. So, I'm good.

Unfortunately, I wasn't Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Would You Believe -

Today I was off the tablet?!!

I started the day off around 9 am. I actually got a good night's sleep and didn't get up till 9 am. I really wanted to sleep more but talked myself out of it.

I got breakfast, and got some laundry in. Then I sat down with the bear I'm doing for the round robin. I need to get it in the mail asap since it's going to Canada and want to know how long it takes to get there. Which meant I needed to get it ready to go.

I was going to add a dragon fly but didn't on this side. I will add more when it comes back.

I did work on the other arm and adding all this. It's not quite what I was thinking but it will do. Then I worked on getting the information typed up and ready. I had everything else ready. Now it's "boxed" up and ready to go in the mail.

Then I fixed the letter for my cousin and that is ready to mail as well. Of course, our water system got a bill, so I paid that. Now I have plenty of stuff to go to the post office tomorrow. Plus I need to make a deposit.

When I was done messing with the bear, I pulled out my Blitz piece.

Only got half of the head done. I do like what I have done so far. This is fun and I really want to finish this.

Now that the day is pretty much over and (UGH) Monday Night Football is on, I'm going to sit and listen to my book while I play my games!

The best part of today, was being at it all day! Something I haven't done in a long time! And it was definitely Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Mini Retreat Day 2

Today is the last day of retreat. We got breakfast in the hotel. It was pretty good. They really had a spread for everyone. DON'T MISS DAY 1 BELOW!

Sandy V left about the same time we did. We headed to get coffee at Starbuck's and didn't realize we were 15 minutes late for the classes. When we arrived, they told us not to worry, they were going to start Q&A before we get started. They were running behind as well.

Of course, I pulled out Blitz to work on. I had to take out the hands that I put in. Sandy V had the right color for the hands. So, I ripped out the stitches and decided I liked something else better.

I worked on the head area today. I'm getting the eyes in and then I will fill in the head. Once that is done, I think I'm moving down the body. I'm going to make the wing a little longer than they are. We need to see the wings.

We were chatting about the kite, good year blimp, rainbow and others today. The theme was things that fly (I believe). So, I'm going to work the UFO in with the others later. I have the fabric from last year, so I will put them on that. I'm not sure in what order yet.

We had close to 20 of us. The two on the left came from Spokane, so they had to leave at noon. Sandy V is on the right side.

Talented women. I had a lot of fun, and I'm sure the rest of us did too. We had a lot of breaks, but we also had plenty of time to catch up on each other. Loretta brought her butterfly to work on. I have so many different things from this, that I will have to find the time to put them all together. First, I need to finish the arms of the teddy bear I'm doing for the Round Robin. I need to get that in the mail. We finished around 2 pm and that was good for Patti to get home at a decent time. Sandy and Jeannette were one of the last to leave, as usual. So, we headed out. Got lost in Tacoma before we were back on the freeway to Centralia. Patrick didn't want to meet me, so Sandy had to drop me off.

Patrick went to the casino and won $750 which was awesome. He came home with the gift as well.

Once I was home, I unloaded and pulled out my tablet. We watched the shows that we usually watched on Saturday's. Then he went back to "America's Funniest Home Video's" which I am so sick of. So, I came in here to get my blog up to date.

It felt good to be back at Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Mini Retreat - Day 1

I'm a day behind, so I'm going to post twice with both days covered.

Yesterday -

Patrick dropped me off at Sandy's house at 6:30 am. We needed to be in Auburn, WA by 8 am - so we thought. It was actually 9 am. We ended up being early, so we sent a text asking if we were in the right place. They were on the way. The facility was awesome, but they had a manikin (sp) that looked real. It was a little spooky. So, we set up in our chairs to get to work.

We all received a gift basket. There was chocolate in there, so that was good enough for me! I picked up a yard roll that was free. I can make more hot pads with it. It's not Peaches 'n Creme but it's just as good.

The first "class" we had was of Blitz, our Seattle Seahawk fella! I was so into him, that I would work on him while they talked about what to do with the other embroidery lessons.

We got started on Blitz. I'm happy to say, I had a lot of fun with this. I'm still working on him. We all worked on our classes till about 3:30 pm. Then it was off to the hotel to sign in. Once that was done, we headed out to eat at Jack's BBQ! I was so happy to be going there! I love that place. It can be loud but it's fun. We all ordered and got different things. Not one of us was upset with what we got.

Came back to the hotel and sat to stitch in an open area on the second floor. It was nice to sit the lounge type chairs and stitch. They were having a Birthday Party downstairs while we were there. It was funny because they would come up, thinking they could sit there, finding us there, they turned around and went back downstairs.

Sandy and Jeannette had to change rooms because the bathroom was filthy dirty. They were able to get a discount for the change as well. Sandy V and I were in another room. We were supposed to be next to each other but ended up down the hall and across the hall from them. When they moved, they ended up being closer across the hall then before. Sandy brought a pie she made. Patti from Wenatchee joined us at the BBQ place as well as stitching and eating pie. After they had pie (I passed), we went to our room and got ready for bed. I didn't work on my tablet much.

It was a long day of Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Another Stiff Day

Had a hard night last night. My hip and back were tight all night. Took me a while to even move over. When I got up this morning, it wasn't fun.

I heated up my back for a bit. That seems to help. I will try and fix it for tomorrow. We need to get up by 5:45 am to leave around 6 am to meet at Sandy's house. We will leave from there and be in Auburn in time for our 8 am class start time. Then I'm thinking around noon we will go to the hotel to get signed in. Should be interesting.

I pretty much stayed around my chair. I wasn't going to do much because every time I tried my back would let me know it wasn't happy with me. lol

I worked on another panel for the ornament. Didn't get far, really wasn't into it.

I did play my game at 1 pm and it went a good hour and a half. After that, I pulled the backpack out to get ready to stay the night. Sophie got into it. Then she was on the floor when I had it loaded and ready. Patrick went into the bedroom to find it on the floor with all my clothes out of the backpack. That little rat took everything out!

I need to get a couple more things ready and then I'm good to go. I got a few floss' for the trip as they did tell us what we needed. Sandy asked about sandwiches and stuff. She's got it covered. I wanted to take a few things, but she said not to worry, she's got it. I will take the drinks.

With all that is going on, at least I found time to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Stayed Home Today

This morning, I woke in pain again. It was a little better than yesterday, but still hard to walk first thing in the morning. I called Debbie and told her I wasn't going to be able to make it to the presentation.

Patrick went golfing but checked on me from time to time. I got a couple things for Debbie, and she stopped to get them before heading to the museum. Donna called to let me know we had a veteran waiting for our 11 am presentation. She wanted to know what to do, since he was scheduled for October. I told her to let Sam know to do a certificate. Then let Debbie know we have one more veteran than was scheduled.

I watched BritBox shows while trying to do some beading.

I was able to finish the one and start on another one. I will probably do them in groups. Patrick wanted to know if this was ours and I told him it would be. I just need to make about 3 more. I will try and get them done sooner than later.

After the presentation, mom and Nancy showed up. They talked about the presentation and wanted to see how I was doing. They thought Patrick looked well. Mom talked to Kelly from his work. She didn't remember her name. We took about 15 minutes trying to figure out who she was talking to. Then when he knew who she was, mom chatted about the conversation they had.

Then Debbie came with my DB drink. I was thrilled! She sat and chatted with mom and Nancy as well. They talked about the different things going on. The Mossyrock group was mentioned about the raffle, and I explained that they were violating the state laws as well as QOV rules. I did enough research to know it's not worth our time and hard work. We would have to contact QOV to get permission first. Then we would have to go accounting to state law, which includes "only group members can sell ticket" as well as other things. I'm not going to do anything about Mossyrock. If someone else does, then that's their problem. After all the BS they put me though, I don't care anymore.

After everyone left, we had supper and then we sat and watched TV. I played on the tablet and was about ready to call it a night, when the shows finally ended.

My day was quiet and uncomfortable getting up and down. But the more I moved the better I felt. I did work on laundry since we had enough of it. I need to pull the bed apart downstairs and clean the sheets before Katt arrives. I also need to get my stuff ready for Saturday. Patrick will drop me off at Sandy's and we will go from there.

At least I found the time for Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Designing Isn't That Easy

This morning, I needed to be at the museum by 10:15 am. Debbie and I were giving a veteran a quilt that is shy and doesn't want the attention. We worked hard to get this set up and finally arrived. When we got there, Jim wasn't there yet. His neighbor called to see if he was coming and told us he was on the way.

We went into Sam's office, and she called him in to talk to him about his grandson. Then she told him she had him there for a reason. Chip, Mike Cheek, and a couple others came in and shut the door so he couldn't get out. Then we presented him with his quilt. He was one that didn't want one till everyone else got one. We had done the same thing to Mike, so he knew what was up. It was fun!

Jim Howe served in the Navy. So, we gave him a Navy quilt. It was fun! Now we just need to work on more panel quilts.

Then Debbie and I went to Dutch Brothers and chatted for a good hour. My hip was killing me. I had a hard night sleep, and I could barely move. But I made it to the museum and DB even though it hurt. The more I moved the better it got. I had put a hot pad on it first thing in the morning and that helps a lot!

Got home, after trying to get in and out of the car a few times. lol Then I sat in the chair - that isn't a good chair to sit in - and put the hot pad on me. Patrick gave me the Netflix and BritBox remote while he went outside to do some work. I watched about 3 different shows. Then I gave up and listened to my book.

I was working on my embroidery piece. Trying to think of what I needed to put on the arms of the bear. So, I tried putting a bee on it. I need to put antenna's and a stinger on it as well. I will do that later.

I still need to add more. Almost thinking of a caterpillar or something like that with another flower. Still trying to decide and that's not easy. Designing something I am not drawing, is interesting to say the least. Patrick suggested I put the hive on the other arm. I may do that, just need to find a pattern or a picture so I know what to do. I have a good idea though.

Then I decided to try and do the other panel for my ornament.

Of course, I didn't get very far. When I started at 2 pm and went till about 5 pm, it limited how far I would get. When I'm doing 2 things at once, I won't get far! Oh, well. This is the second panel for the ornament. I like the colors. I will try and get at least 3 done, but maybe 4.

I'm having a hard time moving, because my back and hip don't want to work together. It's painful and yet tomorrow I have a presentation to do. I may have to get Debbie to do my presentation, since I really should be standing with pain. It will have to wait and see.

As for today, it was a good day to give a quilt away and to work on my stuff. At this rate, I can say today was Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Casino Day

This morning, I had a Physical Therapy appointment. It went well, but it's not doing much good. Bob is going to send the report to my doctor and see what he wants to do going forward. I wasn't too thrilled it's not working as fast as I would like. Bob will tell him what he thinks and then we will go from there. Next week is my appointment with my doctor.

Before going, I stopped to give Phil some veggies and then stopped at PUD to pay the electric bill for the water well. Once that was done, I got my tea and headed to moms. I chatted with her about 30 minutes, then went to my PT appointment.

Afterwards, I needed to go to Staples, so I went and got myself a tea. When I was TRYING to head to Staples, the light that turns to the freeway wasn't working. It was stuck on red. So, I sat for 25 minutes, waiting for cars to go and the light to change. After a bit the cars started going through the red light when there was no traffic moving. I followed a car that did that, so yes, I went through a red light, but at least I was moving! UGH.

Stopped at Staples and got what I needed. I was shocked at how many returns they were taking. I wonder if people found them cheaper on light and brought stuff back. Hard to say. I just made my purchase and headed home.

Got home. Patrick took some time to move, but he finally did. We headed to the casino and played for a good 4 hours. I picked up my "2 person tent." If Katt wants it, she can take it when she gets her next weekend. Patrick is going to go this Sunday, since I am going to be gone. We have doctor appointments in Olympia next Tuesday, so he can get the gift on Sunday. If not, we can go get our ticket and come back after the appointments are over.

Came home after stopping at Safeway for lunch meat and bead for sandwiches. Patrick likes the hard rolls.

Katt called while we were leaving, then we called her back when we got home. It was good to chat with her. She's coming next Sunday to stay overnight, since she's coming from past Seattle (north), then on Monday leaving at 5 am to head to Portland for a conference. Better than going 6 hours to Wilsonville. It will be good to see her again too.

I did take time and label the quilts that need to go to the museum. I have 5 that will be going. I have another that needs a label.

I didn't work on anything when we got home. I have ideas of what I'm going to do for the arm, but I will wait and work on it tomorrow if I get the chance. I have to go to the museum to honor another veteran that isn't aware of it. He keeps putting us off. So, nope, wasn't Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Decided to Bead Today

This morning, I was up and ready to go. Patrick went golfing early. They are changing the times when they golf this week. Decided it's getting too cold to go so early in the morning. lol

I got a few things done before Patrick got home. I chatted with Debbie, and I even made dessert. Patrick has been wanting it for a while, and I was stalling. lol

Then I sat down to watch some BritBox and Netflix while Patrick slept. I was able to work on my beading and get a lot done.

I needed to get started on this year's ornament. So, I got started. This is the first panel and I have to make 3 per ornament. At least it's a start. I had the beads ready, so all I had to do was get started on beading. After Patrick woke up, I kept beading. It was fun to sit there and work on this. I did get up from time to time but not really enough! I really need to move around more to keep my hips from hurting. Oh, well.

I have PT tomorrow and then we will go to the casino. I will be going to Auburn later this week for the weekend. It should be fun, we are going to work on some embroidery. Like last year. Trouble is, I won't have my Seattle piece done to show but I will show what I have done.

It was quiet today. Tomorrow is another story. I have things I need to do but not getting there.

I did check with the WA state gambling commission about doing a Raffle. I did find out a few things. There are a lot of rules between IA and WA state. Since IA pays fees for our groups, we can raffle in the state but have to go with the WA state laws. There are a lot! I found a few things out and also realized a couple groups that did a raffle were against the laws. But it's not my place to tell them.

It's my place to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Getting Ready For More Projects UGH

This morning, I was up after Patrick. Trying to decide if I wanted to get up. lol

When I did, I had a few things to do. First spent a bit playing my war game. Then I pulled out the pattern for my BE Round Robin. I needed to get it ready to mail and I needed to make up my mind what I wanted to do for the arms. At first, I thought I would do one that was the front material and one that was the back material. Then I changed my mind.

I pulled out the light box and marked the pattern on the fabrics. I have it all ready to go. After I was done with the light box, I changed the tablecloth. I had to move my cat beading out of the way. Then I put it all back.

I then came in the computer room and went through my beads to get the right beads for my next set of ornaments. I have all but one color - which I replaced with one I had. Then I put it in the box till I was ready to get started.

I needed to get started with the arms. I thought I would do this for one arm. But I can't decide what else to put on the piece. I may do a butterfly or something of that nature. I don't want a lot of flowers, but I was trying to give them an idea of what they could do. Since the instructions are done and ready to go out, I just need to work on the 2 arms. I will work on something for the next arm. I may do "tattoo" like chains on it. Hard to say. It takes a bit for me to decide. I should finish this one first though.

I was going to start my ornaments and then changed my mind. Decided to play my game and call it done for the day. I was running around getting everything organized. Then I was working on trying to decide what to do by looking through my books. I have more looking to do. It will be a wait and see. I may want a different color on the next arm. Hard to say what I will do. At least I know I was Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Almost Finished

Today, I was up earlier than I have been getting up. Patrick was already up.

I played on the tablet for a while, then I watched 3 episodes with Patrick of "Death in Paradise."

While I was watching TV and/or playing on my tablet, I was actually getting some beading done.

I finished the last two panels. They are on the left. I am now ready to work on this year's ornaments. This is the one that Phil and Emil didn't get. I wanted them to have all the ones I have. That way when Kat is ready to get her's they are here for her.

It was pretty much a day where I was working on my beading. I can't say this is finished because I have to put it in shape for the ornament. I usually do them all at the same time. So, at least I have one set ready to be finished.

Trouble is, I need to get my bear ready to go around with the embroidery round robin. Tomorrow I will need to get it ready and then I can start embroidering my part. Once that is done, I will get it off in the mail. The sooner I send it the sooner she will receive it.

I do enjoy having fun and being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Getting Ready For The Embroidery Round Robin

This morning, Patrick was out the door for his golfing. I got up later and got ready for my physical therapy.

Arrived early for my appointment. I was chatting with Diane from Spokane about stuff going on with QOV. I'm to the point that I'm tired of the BS and am about ready to disband the group. I will try and calm down and see what this year brings. If I don't get more of the same trouble, then I will continue, but if not, I may call it done.

After my PT, I headed to Chehalis to Billy's Fabric's. I needed to get some material that would work for the bear I want to do in the Round Robin. It will be fun! I picked out a couple fabrics. Then I went to see Phil and see what he thought about the fabrics. We both agreed on the dark brown. I was going to do that, till I came home and found that Patrick thought it would be cute to use one on the front and one on the back. I will probably do that. Hopefully the back will be filled in pretty good. It will be fun to see what everyone does. I enlarged the pattern and have it ready for me to make on the fabric. Then I can get started on my part of it. The arms are a little piece, so I will do those. Some will probably do more than another.

I realized I was late for my game. I got on and played. I was surprised at how well I did, since I was late. Hopefully I will pay more attention to when the next one starts. I want to see how far I can get in it.

Then I pulled out my beading, while Patrick napped. I wanted to get more done on the ornament and I need to work on this year's ornaments. I will work on getting this one done to move on.

I wasn't really into getting it started, so I didn't work on it for very long. I did get about 2-3 hours in though. I am almost finished with this one. I just need to get the bottom done. Then I can get started on the next one. Once both of them are done, then I can get started on the poinsettia one. It will be different for me. Should be fun.

I also need to work on my embroidery bear for the Round Robin. I need to get it in the mail to Canada in a couple weeks and the sooner I get to work on it; the sooner I can mail it to her. Shipping costs are high to Canada and time frame isn't that great. I will try. It will make sure I am Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Another Trip To Olympia

This morning, Patrick went golfing and I wanted to sleep all morning. I finally got up around 9 am.

I cleaned up a bit. Needed to get the dishwasher unloaded, cat litter taken care of and some laundry in. Then I ate lunch because I needed to leave as soon as Patrick got in. He was running late. We headed up there and I was at my appointment on time. I was about to sit down when I was called into the office. Good news is I don't have to go back for another year. And my colonoscopy isn't for another 7 years. I can live with that.

Came home and I played games for a bit. I worked on getting Donna and Debbie on doing the veteran's log.  I need to stay out of that information since Debbie is keeping the log of all our veterans from day one.

Patrick napped and I beaded. I was tired but couldn't get myself to nap. I worked on the 3-panel piece. This is still the first one of the sets. I got sidetracked and didn't get any more done. I will try and work on it tomorrow.

At least, after all this running around, it will give us a couple weeks of a break, then we start over again. This way, I need to work on being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

We Need To Moved To Olympia At This Rate

We had to be in Rochester by 10 am. So, we got the kits ready to go. I had a gal from the fair say she was willing to do the kits if we had them. Patrick and I have been keeping them up. I have 3 more kits for anyone that needs them. Colleen has 2 to give away to another gal.

I met up with Martha at the QVC parking lot and gave her the kits. Then we headed to the casino. We played on their money for a while. Then we pretty much played and lost it. We decided to have a meal there. I got the fish and chips while Patrick got fruit. We had to leave by 2:30 pm. Patrick went out for his phone chat with one of the care team. Then we headed to Olympia.

We arrived in time for his appointment. My stomach was acting up. I don't know why. Then I figured it must be the "fried" part of the fish, so it was greasy. That didn't help me since I cut that all out a while back. I waited out in the waiting room because I didn't want to go in to see the new oncologist. While he was in there, I got a call from gastro letting me know they had a cancelation tomorrow and asked if I could come in. I said I could and now I have to be back in Olympia tomorrow at 12:30 pm. Patrick has golfing and should be back in time. UGH He wondered why I didn't say not tomorrow, but I told him I wanted to get this over with. I didn't want to wait till November to see him. This way, it done and I will ask questions I have been wondering about. UGH

Came home and was in the bathroom more than I care to admit. It finally calmed down. We watched TV and then called it a night. Not a day or night to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Good Grief! Another Tuesday Goes By!

Today is Tuesday! Not Monday, Not Wednesday, but Tuesday! Time flies anymore. One minute I'm looking forward to the weekend and Tuesday arrived a lot faster than Monday does. UGH

I was up shortly after Patrick head out to golfing. I needed to be up for Val to stop by. She has another top for me. That will make it about 15 tops that need to be quilted. At this rate we will be doing great to start out the new year.

After Val left Patrick came home. We had to run up to Olympia for his blood tests. But we had a few things to do first. Stopped at the church to pick up 2 quilts that were quilted, then to the bank to drop off money for the water. Once all that was done, we headed to Olympia for the blood tests. Took about an hour, because there were 17 people in front of him. One person after we said she was 20th after Patrick. I saw a few people turn around and leave. Some of the numbers before his, didn't show up, so it went faster. Funny how fast it went after he went in.

Headed back home with a stop at moms to drop off the 2 quilts from the church. Then we went to WinCo for groceries. We really didn't get much but we really weren't that impressed either. Got a few things, but not much.

Got the Round Robin information in the mail. I called my son and daughter-in-law to help me. They found a cute pattern of a stuff bear. I'm going to have them do some stitches on the whole body. Should be pretty.

Came home and mom called. Trish, who took a quilt "kit" on Friday, had the quilt top done. So, she wanted to make another one. Mom and she came over and picked out the panels she could use for another plus some fabric.  At this rate we will be full with quilts. Another quilt arrived in the mail. So, it's all done and ready to go.

It's perfect for a veteran. I like this pattern. We tried to do that one, but it didn't come out well. I think one of the quilters have it now.

I lost my keys! I was looking all over the place for my car keys! I looked everywhere. Then I figured it was under the chair, NOPE. After searching the whole house and Patrick looking as well, I found them in my hoodie that was on the back of the chair. I had gone through the hoodie in the laundry, but it wasn't there, instead it was on the one ON MY CHAIR! UGH I will not live this down! Patrick was out looking in the car. We had insurance on getting another key, but don't know if they will honor it, Patrick thinks it's a scam and we paid for it. But he is going to try anyway to get another key.

My day was busy, from the time I got up to the time I can call it a night. Now I need to stretch before I go to bed. It didn't work out to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

My Busy Mondays!

This morning, I could wait to leave for embroidery. I had a ton of stuff to do afterwards.

Arrived at the grange to find Sandy there. I haven't chatted with her for a while. We had a good visit. She worked on one of her projects that she wanted to get done. I worked on my Seattle piece and started on the mountain. I didn't like it at first but just needed to keep going. I will work more on it later. No photo yet.

After our meeting, I headed to moms. I was able to drop off the coolers for her. Then I picked up the kit pieces for 2 kits. I also got the quilts back that I had her work on the labels. My car was packed because I had stuff from Mary that she gave me at the grange. All that was to go to Colleen. My next stop was Colleen's, and I asked Debbie to get me an iced tea at DB. Sent her a free drink for it.

Funny part was, her being longer than me, since she was closer. We both met up at Colleen's. Dropped off more stuff for the garage sale. It was a lot. She's got to have that room packed. She was working on the garage sale stuff when we arrived. The garage sale is coming up, and Patrick is going to help with getting all the stuff she did to the grange the day before. Should be busy again.

Debbie followed me home to pick up a quilt to quilt. She said as long as I don't need it right away, she would do it. I gave her the panel so it will get done for Veterans Day. We have 2 Coast Guard quilts ready but so far, no Coast Guard members on our list. Weird!

Brought a few things home to put away. Wasn't there yet.

I needed to work on the QOV stuff for next week. Donna and I went through all the names on our list and figured out who was awarded, who wasn't and if somewhere still waiting. We have 10 for next week. That works for me, because we have about 30 that are a year old. I did cancel a couple. It took me about 3 hours between chatting with Donna and getting emails out to the veterans letting them know we have them to present to. It is a long process. I now need to send an email to everyone to let them know who is being awarded. I decided I was done with doing QOV stuff and stopped. I will do the email tomorrow.

I was nonstop today. At least I was able to spend time with Sandy and be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Trip To Olympia To See Sheryl

This morning, I had an appointment in Olympia. Sheryl and I worked out getting together for her group to quilt 10 of our quilts. She also ga...
