A Little Of This And A Little Of That

Today, I slept for a bit, just didn't want to get up, so I laid there awhile. It's interesting how I don't want to get out of bed but when I do, I feel better.

I got moving on the laundry but that didn't go far today. I got on the computer and set up a new email for my QOV group. I was getting tired of trying to figure out what was personal and what was QOV. This way, I have it all in one place. I sent out 20 emails to let veterans know we had them. I worked on my meeting stuff. I ordered the bags to go with January's presentation.

I then worked on trying to get my family tree backed up. There wasn't enough room with the documentations, so after 2 hours of waiting to see if I could get it on a thumb drive, found out I couldn't. So, I tried again without the documents, and it worked fast. Next was to update the update that I got for it.

While I waited on the updates, I beaded.

I worked on this today. Should have got it done, but I found I was doing other things that needed to be done first.

I unloaded the fabric that I ordered. I didn't realize I ordered so much - 9 bolts. That should be enough for a while. We put them downstairs with the fabric. I need to measure the tops and get them ready to be quilted. We have about 7 tops that need to be quilted.

Called mom and she's doing better. I'm going to call Dr. Paul and see when I can get her in. May try for Thursday, but she might want to be in sooner. I will check.

At least I found the time today to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Another Week Gone

Today, I was able to sleep a little bit, but was surprised Patrick was up since we usually sleep in on Saturdays. Not today. Even I didn't sleep as late as I usually do.

I played my games, then Debbie came over to show me her quilt with her grandson's photos. It's really cool. Then I was back on the games.

After supper I called mom again. When I tried earlier in the morning, she wasn't up. It took till 10:30 before she was up. She said she didn't sleep very well last night and was up most of the night. Finally getting sleep around 4 am. So, I chatted with her to see if she was eating and getting rest. She said she didn't do anything all day and that she didn't eat much. So, I was fretting and needed piece of mind. Patrick and I went over around 5:30 pm and she was looking a lot better. She was chatting with my older brother Chris, and so I ended up talking to him. Patrick talked to mom while I chatted with Chris. Patrick was letting her know she needs to take care of herself. Once he got all the information we were looking for and found she was eating and drinking, I was happy. We made her take her pills while I was there. Then we came back home.

Our shows were not on today, so we watched "Columbo." While I was watching that, I decided to work on my beading.

Finished panel 2 of 3 and started the 3rd. I was happy with getting this going again. I still need to do more.

We decided we are not going to the casino tomorrow because the traffic is awful! We got on the freeway and ended up getting back off. The traffic was slow! We went through town, and we realized if we wanted to go out tomorrow, it will be worse. So, we will stay home and I will try and finish this up.

I need to get another email for my QOV stuff. My regular email is always full. So, I'm going to move the QOV stuff to a new email. Hopefully that will help.

I'm beat. I was working on QOV stuff today and have the fabric that arrived today. The fabric is still in the boxes and I need to open them and put them downstairs. I didn't get the batting which hopefully will be here Monday.

I can tell I'm stressed, because I'm rambling! I should just call it a day and say I was Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Better Day

Today, I was up early and out the door. I got breakfast and then headed to Walgreens for mom's meds. Then I picked up tea for both of us. They were sweet, they gave me a free drink for mom since they knew she has pneumonia. (I'm learning how to spell that, since I've typed it so much! lol)

I stayed and chatted with mom, then I came home. I needed to get home since Phil was coming today. He arrived about an hour after I got home. It was a very nice visit. I tried to talk Patrick into getting the new tree up so we could decorate while Phil was there. Of course, I wasn't "specific" enough about that, because he said no, he was doing it tomorrow. I tried again, actually 3xs and he still didn't get what I was saying!

While Phil was here, I did pull the beading out and work on it. I told him he was getting 2 this year, since he didn't get one that mom did a couple years ago. He said he has them all out and has 5 of them. Now he will have 7. I told him the one he doesn't have is the cats, and I know he does want that one. lol

I am really close to finishing this! I seriously need to get my butt in gear and get this done and then next one!

After Phil let, he went and got the table as well as got the tree out. I gave him crap for not doing that when Phil was here. We decorated it with the Precious Moments ornaments that his mother sent every year for over 10 years. I found Phil's "first Christmas" Precious Moment as well. It's all decorated now, and ready. I took pictures but I didn't load them to the computer - so you will see it in tomorrow blog.

Then we pretty much watched a movie and enjoyed a nature show. I didn't feel like finishing this panel, shame on me!, so I played my games. At least I tried and managed to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Today we were taking it slow. We had to leave by noon to Vancouver. We actually got moving around 11:30 am.

The traffic wasn't bad. It could have been worse. We didn't see a lot of trucks out there. So, I think that helped the traffic a bit.

We arrived around 12:30 pm. They were getting things ready. Had a few things in the oven warming. My brother smoked the turkey, and it was resting. Mom didn't look good at all. We were told she was coughing up blood. Nate told her to take it easy and see the doctor tomorrow. As the time went on, she was getting worse and loosing color. So, we hurried and ate. Then Alicia and Christina took mom to the ER. The good news is that they got her in right away. We waited with my brother Patrick at their place for news on mom.

Long story short, she has pneumonia and wouldn't let them do a CT scan. She wanted to come home. So, we brought her back home, put her to bed and came home. It's now 10:30 pm and the day is gone. I had a good visit with my brother.

Tomorrow, I have to go to Walgreens for mom's meds. It's going to be another long day tomorrow. Hopefully mom will get better. I need to make an appointment with her doctor and go with her. Then have my brother and Alica on the line so they can get involved in this as well.

In otherwards, not a day to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Day Of Quilting!

This morning, I actually slept in. I was surprised at how long I slept, but it felt good.

Then I asked Patrick to heat up the fire downstairs. He had an appointment in Olympia this afternoon, and I decided since I don't go in with him, I would stay home and try to get a couple quilts done.

First things first, I had to get this done. So, I added the white border when I was finished. I need to put the blue fabric with it, so they can use that for the binding. I think this gives me 5 quilt tops that need to be ready to be quilted. I will have to cut the batting and backing later.

While I was ironing the top, I came to the table to get back to work, to find Sophie cleaning herself. UGH! Since I had to cut some fabric, I let her stay for a bit and then kicked her off my chair.

Once that quilt was done, I needed to get back to this panel. So, I cut the strips for the borders. The stars were cut back down to 12 1/2." That was to make it easier for me. BUT I didn't have enough of the two-colored borders, so had to put more white in there than I wanted to.

By the time Patrick came home around 4 pm, I had this much done. I need to cut the borders to size and add the stars to put it all together. Just looking at it this way, I think it's the size I need, but I may have to add another border if I come up short. I will try and work on it this weekend if I can.

Miss Sophie made herself comfortable watching me. She was busy just before this.

My table is a Kawala (sp) table. The place were the sewing machine sits, need to be replaced. The plastic around the wood, is cracked and broken. I really would like to get another table, but I am going to try and see if I can get the piece that lowers and raises the table. I need to get Patrick to help with get the right thing.

After calling it done, came upstairs and worked on the salad for tomorrow. It's the pudding mix salad that has pineapple, banana, cherries, and Madeiran (sp) oranges.  It's Patrick's favorite. So, I made a double batch and split it in half so we keep one and take the other to my brothers in Vancouver.

It turned our to be a great day to enjoy being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Busy And Not So Busy

This morning, Patrick went golfing. About the time he got home, I was heading out to the museum and then my physical therapist appointment.

Met Debbie at the museum and we put the quilts that are done in the stacks. We found 2 of our quilts in the wrong spot. So, we need to let everyone know not to mess with the quilts there. Sam said she would pay attention if she sees a quilt go out of the storage room.  They were giving out turkey's to the veterans that could need one. I called Patrick to let him know Chip told us to take one, because there are still too many there. I got a butterball and not a Jenny-O. Then headed to Physical Therapy.

I was having to walk upstairs at the PT area. I got a lot of walking in. Since it was raining, we stayed indoors. I have some exercises to do and just realized I need to do them again before bed.

Came home and unloaded the quilts I picked up at moms while dropping off a quilt for her. Then I gave Patrick the turkey to find out it is just the turkey breast. Oh, well. It will do for us, it's just the right size.

Then I took the rest of the day off. I was beat after Bob worked my leg! Oh, well, today was not my best day to be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Amazing What I Can Do, When NOT Playing Games

This morning, I was all ready to go to the grange for the last time to visit with Gerilyn. About an hour before I needed to leave, she called to say she has strep throat. So, I ended up cancelling the meeting. She's looking forward to meeting at moms, and it will make it easier for her mother to join us as well.

Since Patrick wasn't going golfing (would start till 10 am because of the cold weather) and I couldn't go to the meeting, we headed up to Olympia for our blood tests. I had to do a "pee" test as well. OMG! I have one heck of a time with the urinary tests!! TMI, I know, but I was able to get enough! lol Now that that was over, we headed to Costco!

OMG! (yep again!) The parking lot was FULL. Took us a good 5-10 minutes looking for a parking spot. We ended up way out there. I took my walking stick while I was there. I believe I got my walking and more in today by going there. We were there to pick up the pecan pie, cookies (yep he ate most of the first tub I bought last week), and a few other things. The pre-scanned our order and it was so easy when we got to the counter. Patrick wanted a pizza slice. UGH So, I ended up getting the hot dog. I'm getting tired of the hot dog! But I really wasn't in the mood to sit and watch Patrick eat his pizza. I wanted to come home and make a sandwich with my crab salad. Oh, well.

We got home and unloaded. After all that work, I decided I better get my emails out letting the veterans know it will be about 6-9 months before we can honor them with a quilt. I ended up marking several as priority between active members and those who served in 1950-1960. Debbie told me we have a WWII veteran that will be at the WWII dinner. It's on the 7th, so we will end up going to honor him. I need to see who else can make it. I had to stop working on the emails so Patrick could "zoom" with one of his doctors.

While he was chatting with his doctors, I was beading. Like I said, I needed to get these done!

I am close to getting this done. I listened to my book on tape.

OMG!! While I was listening to my book, Patrick started talking to me. I had to stop my earbuds and listen. A few minutes go by and I turn it back on. THEN he starts talking again! This went on for a good hour!! I know he knew I was listening to my book, and he was testing me to see if I was listening to him as well. It's a pain in the butt when you have to click the book off, wait and listen, then when he stops talking, click it on, to have him start talking again!! I was getting so irritated by it! It took me a good 2 1/2 hours to finish the last hour of the book! I wanted to tell him to shut up, but then he would give me crap about my listening to my books. Can't win that battle. Try beading and going through that! I had to stop beading to click on and off.

I had to get the quilts ready to go to the museum tomorrow. So, I labeled the following quilts to get them to the museum tomorrow.

This was one of the quilt kits that Martha Day did.

This came from the Tri-Cities QOV.

Mom did this one and it's HUGE. We will need to find a big veteran for this one.

This was a group quilt. I did more, but it looks like I forgot to take a photo of them.

With the day going so well, it felt good to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Casino Day

We did the usual Sunday cleaning. Then we headed to the casino. We go the 8x8 electric fry pan. I don't know if I could use it and may ask Katt if she wants it. I was hoping for the crock pot, but that was the one I missed. lol

We did pretty good but didn't stay as long as before. We weren't as lucky today as the last 2 times.

Stopped at Arby's for supper. We hadn't been there in probably over a year. He wanted to go to see if the salt was an issue this time. It wasn't. That's good news. He even bought some regular ones to heat up later.

Came home and I got a reminder of out virtual meeting for Brazilian embroidery. Instead of working on my embroidery, I worked on my beading. I want to get them done! So, I sat and chatting while beading.

I finished the left one. Then I lined them up. I have 2 more of the right one to do. Then I will be done. AND have to start one more set. This will be 3 sets of ornaments by the time I'm done. After the meeting, I was able to finish that part of the panel.

Tomorrow is embroidery and I need to work on my Round Robin to get that one moving along as well. This group is so fast with stuff that I feel like I'm the one behind, yet I know it's not me. It will be good to see Gerilyn. Starting next Monday we will be at moms. Mom told me she let Georgie know, so she will be joining us again.

At least, with all we have done today, I was Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Day With Friends

This morning, I was getting a few things ready for when Sandy E and her sister Jeannette were coming. As I was getting ready, Debbie wanted to know if I would be home, and mom called to see if I could take the bolt cardboard, she got from Debbie McGinnis yesterday. I said sure.

So, first to show was Debbie and we talked about the quilt she wanted to make for the "therapy quilt" to give to her daughter. She has enough photos of her grandson to make a quilt for his brother as well. So, we chatted about what she could do.

Then mom showed up with the trunk of her car FULL of the cardboard that has the bolts of fabric to put on them. I told her I thought they were the smaller ones that everyone gets to wrap their quilt on, not the bolt boards that are at a shop. I couldn't take 200 of those! I don't want my downstairs to look like a quilt shop at this rate. She was going to take them to the dump and recycle them in the cardboard area. She ended up getting help from some guys that were there unloading their cardboard. Worked out for her.

Once they were all gone, Sandy and Jeannette arrived, and we sat to work on our embroidery. First, we enjoyed lunch. Then sat and talked as well as worked on our embroidery. I was trying to find a flower to the round robin I needed to do. We decided on the fuchsia pattern. So, I tried to get it going and realized the first flower petal was too big, so we talked about adding the 2 to it. If I did all 5, it would have been too big.

I was able to get this much done before they left.

After supper I pulled it out and worked on it some more. I need to add the bottom part to it. I just hope it works out okay. They are big.

I was playing most of the time after they left, then pulled the piece out while we were watching our shows that are on Saturday night.

I didn't want to start the bottom part of the fuchsia, so I pulled out my beading work. I worked on this piece for a bit. Think I got about 5 or 6 rows done. I need to finish them both at this rate. Tomorrow is casino day. So, I won't be able to do much tomorrow.

I really had a great day with my friends and Sandy is so much like a sister to me, that I had even a better time. We love chatting and relaxing with each other and her sister is just as much a kick as Sandy. So, it made for a great day of Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Our 43rd Wedding Anniversary Today!

This morning, I overslept a bit. I headed out and had to stop at Safeway. Then I was on my way to moms. I stopped to get a tea from Dutch Brothers. As I was crossing over the bridge, the police and fire truck were headed to I-5. I guess if I was about 10 minutes earlier and on my usual way to mom, I could have been in it or saw the accident. I'm thankful my plans were different.

When I arrived, someone took my parking spot - no big deal. They have been doing that lately. So, luckily, I found one close to the house. The tension in that group is high. When I asked what they were scheduling, I was told they scheduled the Christmas Party at O'Blarney's in town. I told them I went there with a group, and it took an hour to be served. Not only that, but we were given 3 tables that sat 4 people. I didn't care for the food. I was told that I could call around and find a better place if I didn't like it, but they already made reservations for it. At that point, I was tired of the attitude they have been giving me. I was tired of them voting on stuff when I wasn't there. I would come in sometimes and be told what we were doing. This is the old "Tuesday" group, that moved their way into our "Friday" group. They were the ones that changed our Fridays to every other. AND NOW they are trying to change it to the first and third or second and fourth Friday. Funny thing is, its mom's house, and they don't ask her before they decide on stuff. If they do, mom just goes with it. I told her I was tired of all the crap. So, I told mom I was done with this group. She was upset by it, but I told her "I'm done! I don't care what they decide anymore, I'm done."

So, then I realized it was taking away a day from mom. She wants to see me at the very least, once a week. I decided to ask her if she would let our Monday embroidery group meet at her house instead of going to the grange. That way, if they don't meet, I can visit with her and it's a win, win for both of us. She was so excited about that thought. I was so surprised at how excited she got with that. I asked the group, and they all agreed to do that. So, December 1st we will start meeting at moms. Mom's happy and I can still visit with her on Mondays. Georgie lives by mom, and that gets her to come back to the group. I also invited another person from the area and told her we will start on the 1st.

I then went to Physical Therapy and came home. I had to change and get ready to head out to Red Lobster - it's our Anniversary dinner! We have been married 43 years today. It was a very nice time down there. We got the "Mariner's Boil" and split it. Patrick got a side of shrimp that he likes. We ate it all. Then we had a dessert but couldn't finish that. So, the good news was, we didn't bring anything home to throw away later. lol

I did work on a binding while at moms, but that really doesn't count towards being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Getting Back On Track

This morning, Patrick left for golfing, and I slept a little longer.  When I did get up, I decided to get the laundry done. It's been a while since I have done it. At least it wasn't that bad.

While I was working on the laundry and cleaning up the kitchen, I was playing my game. I was able to get myself up in the 300's for the challenge. Trouble is, it's going on for another 3 days. I just want to be up there for the prizes.

Then I decided I could do both, so I beaded.

Finished the panel I was working on and started another one. The one I started is the one I have 2 done so far. I need to do 2 more of this one as well. AND I want to do another one, so I need to get moving. I was thinking of going downstairs and putting the quilt together but just wasn't there.

I was listening to my book as well. It's a good story and I couldn't believe Patrick wanted to hear it as well. So, we both listened to it for a good hour or two.

I really didn't do much, by was Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Sew Days At The House

This morning, I was up and ready for quilters. I ended up waiting a little longer than I expected. We had a couple of them that couldn't make it, but we did get a new person. So, all in all it was a good time.

Only 3 of them were sewing, the other 3 of us were cutting and ironing.

This is the rail and nine patch. We didn't get it done, but we did get about half of it done. It takes forever on the 6" nine patches. It will get done in January when we meet again.

This one the one from the pattern. We were trying to figure out how to place it. Kept coming up with this and then after everyone left, Patrick moved things around.

He figured it out. We tried but it didn't come out that way. Val kept trying when she was here and we all were getting confused. This way works with the eagles. We had the eagles off for a bit. I will sew this together, then I'll add the white for border. The dark blue with be the binding.

I did get a couple quilts today. I need to put the names on them and take them to the museum. Debbie cut the backing and batting for all the tops - minus 2 - and they are ready for when a quilter wants a quilt. She did 6 of them and measured the last 2.

The good news is that we are ahead of ourselves right now. It will work out great! I'm hoping we can do about 8 veterans at a time because we now have 77 quilt requests. We have a long way to go. But we are getting there!

Today turned out to be an awesome day of Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Spending Time With Mom And Trip To Olympia

This morning, I had to get moving. Was at moms by 9:20 am. We then headed up to Olympia. She needed to have her hearing aids checked. She was having trouble and wanted to get them check. We arrived at Costco, and they took her hearing aids to clean them and then check them. There was a lot of "stuff" in the hearing aids, so it just needed cleaned. We shopped while we waited. I needed to pick up a few things that we missed last week. Both mom and I found some crab!! So, we bought 2 containers of crabs. The deal was that she would come over for dinner because she loves crab as much as I do. I agreed. Sent Patrick a message that mom was coming over for dinner, and we were having crab. lol I picked up a few things as well. Patrick was complaining he needed dessert, so I bought popcorn (with chocolate), chocolate covered pretzels, and a tin of cookies. Hopefully that will keep him going.

Our next stop was to the Xfinity shop. Mom was having trouble with her TV and cable. We waited a good 20 minutes before we were called. She asked for someone to come out and check it out. They also put that she may need 2 new boxes. I'm betting that's the case. We made the appointment for tomorrow between 10-12 noon. She will be late getting here, but she will at least get her TV fixed.

Next stop - mom was hunger by then - Panara Bread. We had a salad and then came home. I dropped her off and put her stuff in the house for her. Then I put our stuff in the car and headed to Dutch Brothers for tea and coffee. I needed to get a gift card for Debbie, since today was her Birthday. I also have a cake for her.

Mom had 4 quilts done for me to bring home, so put them in the car as well. Came home and then worked on my beading for a bit. Waiting for mom to come for supper.

I didn't finish it, but I did get about half of that work done. I was on a roll. Then mom arrived and we had supper with the crab. I made the Red Lobster bisques, and it turned out great!

Mom helped me clean the extra crab meat and then we have it ready for tomorrow. Mom is going to bring some stuff to make crab salad. I'm looking forward to that.

Now I'm all set for tomorrow. We have sew day and hopefully will get a lot done. At least, as busy as I was today, I was able to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Doing My Usually Stalling Bit

This morning, Patrick went golfing. Since our BE group is not available, we didn't have our meeting.

I ended up getting the 2 quilts ready for Wednesday. We have our potluck sew days on Wednesday. Which means I needed to be ready with the quilt cut and ready to sew.

This is ready for 2 quilts. The strips are for a 9-patch/rail quilt. I had to cut the strip to be ready to sew. I hope I cut enough, if not I will cut more on Wednesday, since the pattern didn't have the cutting directions. It just had a note that for the size they showed was 1" squares. I needed to have it doubled, so our strips are 2.5" for 2" squares. Confusing but I am pretty good at figuring out the size differences and what needs to be done. In this case, I am NOT good at figuring out how many strips are needed to do the 9-patches or the rail fences. So, I cut enough that I think will work. We will have to see.

Then I cut the fabrics for the Scooch Over 2 quilt.

Since it's for a veteran, I needed reds and blues. I had the eagle fabric that I figured would work. Patrick helped me pick out the colors for both quilts. He thought we could do the eagle fabric (every other one) with a red piece that is also every other one. The dark color is the dark blue and the light color is a light blue. This one looks easy enough. I will just need 2 people cutting the pieces after the strips are sewn. Then to give the sewers the blocks to piece together. I will also need 1 person to iron. I'm hoping we have as many quilters here as we did last time. It should work, and we may be lucky enough to get 2 done.

After clearing off the counter and getting this done, I came upstairs and did some computer work for QOV. I need to send out emails to the veterans letting them know we have them on the list to receive a quilt. That needs to be done soon, as I believe I will have 20 to send to. If not more.

After that, I decided to relax and play on my tablet.

I have been stalling with getting the quilt tops together with batting and backing. I have fabric coming in, but I will need to order more for the backings. Plus, the batting. I also need to get my butt in gear and work on the ornaments. I'm still stalling on the emails to the veterans. AND stalling on my genealogy as well as getting my round robin done. These won't take long; it's just getting my butt in gear to get them done! How hard is it to sit down and work on this stuff?! Yet I tend to want to chat with my friends on the game I play. NOT SMART! UGH

At least I was getting closer to being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

A Fun Sunday

This morning, Patrick and I went to the casino (because I wanted my gift), and I got the grill that they were giving away. I wanted it, so made Patrick go today instead of Tuesday since he wasn't able to get the gift then. I'm still not sure which gift was given last week, could be the crock pot or the diamond electric skillet. I will see which one I get next week and will know. Like Patrick said, they are cheap, but they do work. Some of the stuff we get is really nice, others are crap.

We must have played 4 hours! We won this time and brought home more money they we took. So, we can use that next week to play on.

I had to get the fabrics ready for the 2 quilts we are going to work on Wednesday. I need to have them cut and ready to work on when the group gets here. Plus, I need to clean up down there.

Mom called and wanted me to come over tomorrow or Tuesday. I told her I was busy and then she said she needed to go to Olympia to get her hearing aid fixed. I told her that I would work it out, and we could go Tuesday morning. We would have to go straight up there and back. She said she wasn't planning on shopping and that's what she wanted to do.

We got home after picking up a pizza from Pappa Murphy's. I stuffed myself with the vegetarian pizza and Patrick had the other half - meat lovers. I am still stuffed!! I ate too much, but dang that pizza was good!

Sophie wanted her attention as usual.

She doesn't like me on my tablet when she wants attention. I brushed her and couldn't believe how much hair she had! It's wintertime and she's shedding - go figure!

After playing for a bit, I decided to play my games.

Tried doing both my beading and the games. lol I really do need to get this set done and start another. It won't take long, but it does take time. I thought of something else I needed to get done. Oh, the embroidery for my round robin.

I chatted with Sux in Australia and asked what she thought would work for the piece. I love her ideas and she so good with her embroidery, gold work, and just plan handwork. So, when things calm down, I will sit down and do the flowers on the piece. But first things first, I need to get these done! At least I was able to find a little time to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Shopping For Fabric Today

I was ready for Debbie to come pick me up. She wanted me to go with her to Gee Gee's Quilt shop in Yelm.

She arrived at 10 am and we headed out. Stopped to get a tea/coffee and then off to Yelm. We arrived with the parking lot full. That surprised me. Debbie was looking for fabrics that would work in her memory quilt. She has a ton of photos and is making it for her daughter. I think it's good therapy for her to do this. We got a lot of different fabrics for it. She just needs to figure out the sizes, since the photos were sized a little off.

I looked (sort of) for panels. I found one and bought 4 of them. Then Debbie pointed out the fabric that goes with the 250 years of the signing of the declaration. It works with the panels we have for QOV. I saw one on Etsy and was surprised a QOV quilt could be sold on Etsy, but when I went looking for it today, it was gone. The fabrics I got will work great with the panels.

I am still waiting for the panels to come in, but I will be paying attention to where we can get the fabric if we need it.

We stopped at the grange to see if the fabric was selling. I did notice about half the fabric was gone, so that's a good thing. I need to check with Colleen to see if it went as well as I hope it did. I won't see her till later this week.

Came home and I played on the tablet after supper. I had to work on some QOV stuff and balance our "checkbook" to be sure the amount is right. I also posted on Facebook the last two presentations. Once I had that done, we had supper and then I played.

We watched TV. I think this time, even though I wasn't stitching or sewing, I can but was working on fabrics to do some quilting - that should say I was Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Not A Day For Fun Crafts!

Today, Patrick was up and out the door to the golf course. I got up to get out to the PT appointment. First, I needed to drop a deposit at the bank, then post office. I found out at the bank that my deposit was wrong and needed to go back. That had to wait till after PT.

I got some money for Colleen to do the fabric sale tomorrow at the grange. Hopefully we can make some good money. It's all the holiday fabrics that we have. Trouble is, we are in the kitchen area, so hope people realize that instead of walking out.

Got home and get the information ready for the bank. We then went back to the bank to find out why my account was short. As we worked it out, it was found out, since GESA took over Security State Bank, there was a duplicate account. So, they added a number to our account. Now I have to make sure all our deposits and checks go through the correct account. They had to return the money and re-issue it to our account. At least now I know what the problem is.

We then headed out to the casino. After 4 hours we decided to eat there. I got a hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes. I was really surprised when it was on open faced sandwich with turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy on top. I'm used to the potatoes on the side and not mixed in with the turkey and gravy. I won't be getting that again. It was pretty good, but I don't want everything piled on the bread.

We came home and watched TV. I was downstair a bit to find a pattern to cut out for the sew days on Wednesday. I'm behind the times! I did have Patrick look at a book and see what he thought would work for a quilt pattern. I may have to cut a couple quilts for the group.

Other than that, not a day to have fun with being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Off To Olympia Again.

This morning, Patrick went golfing. I cleaned up a few things today. I had the vacuum out and going. Then I sat down to play my games.

Patrick got home and about an hour later, the guy came out to fix the fireplace. It's about 15 years old. It will need to be replaced in a couple years. I told Patrick I would rather replace it now then then. He said he wanted to wait. Told him I disagreed but said ok. He then reminded me they go on sale in the summertime, and we can look into them then. That was a good idea.

We then went up to Olympia for Patrick's tests and made our appointments. Then we went to Costco! Oh, wow! Did we ever spend money! We got a lot of stuff and came home. Unloaded some at Phil's then came home and unloaded our stuff. I got a couple things for me. Yet, Patrick said, "I may try that too." Which is stuff that I only have about 12 of. Bet he eats them all before I get to them!

Then we sat and watched TV. I played on my game some more. I was going to (got that - WAS GOING TO) bead, but didn't get there. I keep seeing the cat and wanting to go there and bead, but know I have ornaments to get done first.

AND of course, Debbie wants me to go to Gee Cee's (or Gee Gee's) in Yelm on Saturday. I was in! So, tomorrow is casino after my PT and a few other things that needs to be done. But today was definitely not my day to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Finally, A Day Home

This morning, I was up and thinking I had a game to play. Figured I was off because today is Wednesday not Thursday. I will play tomorrow around 1 pm.

I didn't want to do much. But I did get the laundry going. I let Patrick sleep, while I played my game and listened to my book. Patrick got a good hour if not more in for a nap. Then we watched "Death in Paradise."

It was just a quiet day for me. Debbie came over to show me all the applications they got from Lucky Eagle. They collected 45 applications yesterday. Three of them was from the presentation. The rest were from Lucky Eagle. We are hoping to get hooked up with the tribe.

My day was just to relax. Tomorrow they are coming to fix the fireplace downstairs. Then we will go up to Olympia for Patrick's tests and Costco. No other plans. I know we have things going on Friday. UGH! I just wasn't there yet for being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Back To Being At Home

This morning, I enjoyed sleeping in a bit. Not a lot but a bit.

Yesterday was a long day with traveling in the airplane and airports. It's not my favorite thing to do, but it went really well. We did have to be de-iced before we left Louisville, because it was starting to snow. Then we waited a bit before we could take off. We were about 30 minutes late. Once we were on our way, it was nice.

We arrived at DFW airport. OMG! That place is worse than any airport I have been in. I thought Houston was bad being so far behind in the times, but DFW is even worse. Trams all over the place! We had to get on the tram to go from our arrival station to the departure station. Took longer than I expected and the best part was we didn't walk! It would have taken a couple hours to get where we needed to be.

We left DFW airport after waiting another 30 minutes for them to fix the screw that was off in the engine. I was wondering if we would have to depart and go to another plane, but nope. We had a very good captain on the flight! He was a marine pilot and made sure we knew what was going on the whole time. It was great. Told Patrick since he was military that made me feel a whole lot better!

A few miles from Portland. I was surprised at all the lights.

Finally, we arrived home at 9:30 pm. Long day, no time to blog.

This morning, I was having to get ready for the veteran's ceremony. We had a good group show up as well. We were introduced and then Donna did an awesome job of letting them know about each veteran. She really made us proud! Photos will have to wait; I couldn't get them loaded. Frustrating!

Susy's son-in-law, Samuel Shankster got this quilt. He really loves it.

The guest speaker received this one. Charles Burt was awesome. He's amazing with all the paintings he has done! And he has Parkinson's!

Mom and I joined Mike McCoy - whom I have known since I was about 14 years old. He worked for my father in the Air Force. We chatted about dad and Diane, who passed recently. I was so good to chat about the past. Mom and he laughed about a few things as well. His son was with us. We went out to eat. So, the chattering went on from about 3 pm to 6 pm. Amazing how we could talk about the past so easily. I miss dad and Diane. But as long as they are in my heart, I know they are with me.

Came home and played my games for a bit. It's been another long day. I will load the photos tomorrow. I did work on the photos I posted the last couple days while on the tablet. I fixed a few things as well. lol

It was a great trip, loved seeing Sue. Now we are back, and back to normal. Patrick went to the casino to get our gift - they were out. I guess Sunday, they gave them all out. So, we will go Sunday, I'm thinking, because these are gifts I do want. At least he came home with some money to play with. lol

I haven't been Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Behind On Blogging On Vacation

For some reason, I don't think of blogging when I am on vacation.  We really aren't that busy, but we are enjoying our trip.

Yesterday we went shopping and to the chocolate factory. The chocolate factory had a deal going because it was their anniversary.  It has been going for over 110 years. The candy is really good, even better than the Escanaba candy's, I am bringing some home.

They were dressed up as well. They had a gal looking like Lucy, and a gentleman looking like Dezi. It was crowded and fun. Since my tablet isn't working with photos, I will keep going.

Both had a smile on their faces the whole time. I should have gotten one of them together - together, but didn't ask. It was fun to see them all dressed up in older clothes. This place was crowded but I could understand why. The do have really good chocolates.

Afterwards, we went to the Japanese food for supper. It was awesome! First time Patrick ever saw them cooking that way. It was a blast!

We came back and went in the hot tub and watched a movie.

I do believe I am still on Pacific time since I slept till 10 am.

We went to Churchill downs. We had good seats, and it worked out when your close to the finish line. It was just too cold that we moved around a bit as well.

See, having trouble getting photos where they belong. This is from the candy shop. LOL

We had an awesome time and seats at the finishing line. We were there for 6 races and a lot of fun.

We stayed for 7 races and bid on them. We won and lost which is what happens when you play the races!

Came home and I was able to get some beading done too! Nice to find time for being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!!

In Louisville Today

Yesterday was spent in the airplane. We went from Portland OR to Huston Texas and then to Louisville KY. We ended the day in a hot tub at my sister-in-law's.

I got about 5 hours sleep. Patrick and the damn night light.

We were up and planned to go to the Louisville Slugger museum.  We toured their factory.  I really enjoyed it, but Patrick didn't seem to care.

We had our picture taken in front of the huge baseball bat at the museum.

I found it fun to see. Then I had a call from the Veterans Memorial Museum and told Tim to talk to Debbie. 3also had a call from Donna (twice) and let Debbie know to call her. They all know I am in Indiana but that doesn't seem to stop them from calling.

It's amazing how they make the bats. I really did enjoy checking this out and going on the tour. They go every 10 mins or so, but you really don't see the group before or after since they have it timed so well.

We went to the Texas Roundhouse for supper. It was awesome, but crowded. I can see why.

I finished the second panel bead. I will start the next one tomorrow.  We are having a good visit.  Patrick is even eating good. At least I was able to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Yet Another Trip To Olympia!

This morning, I was getting things ready for our trip. Then I played some games on my tablet.

We left by 1 pm because we needed to get gas and be in Olympia around 2 pm. Our appointment was till 3 pm but Patrick needed to get up there early for his blood tests. We got gas, and just as we entered Tumwater/Olympia area, it was stop and go. There was an accident that happened at 12:14 pm and traffic was touch and go. We didn't see any accident - thinking it was cleared up. Took us about 20 minutes to go 5 miles.

We arrived in time, Patrick took his test, and we sat for about 25 minutes. He had his appointment, and I had mine with our oncologists. My appointment went really well. He did pretty good, but he's off chemo for a week and taking antibiotics. That's a good thing since we are leaving tomorrow and it should help him out.

I asked to go to Dairy Queen after. We stopped and got a 4-piece chicken strip and split it. He seemed to be hungry! Then we had the peanut butter parfait which, I swear he was hungry!! He ate more than I did and was sucking it down like no tomorrow. I couldn't believe how fast he was eating it. I wasn't ready to start eating it, so he took a couple more bites before I even go any! Guess he didn't want to wait!

Came home and started getting ready for the trip. We filled the suitcase. I know I'm missing something. Funny part, I put my clothes in 1/3 of the suitcase. When I went back to add a couple things, it was FULL! Patrick added his stuff and there was hardly any room in there. Makes me think, I pack less than he does. OR I'm the better packer. I was shocked at how fast he filled that suitcase. I told him to get the backpack so I could put my stuff in that. No doubt he will have it full of his stuff as well. OMG!

I packed my beading, so I wasn't able to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Not My Day!

This morning, I was up and out the door for my PT appointment. I arrived on time. Bob and I talked about how things are going. The good news is that I think the new shoes and the slippers are working for now. I'm slowly getting there. I need to wear my brace when I travel on Thursday though.

Stopped at moms and gave her the binding I had. Told her it goes with one of the quilts that went to be quilted. She was working on a variation nine patch quilt top. It really looks good.

Came home after picking up some tea. Then I had the left-over sandwich from yesterday for lunch. It filled me up and that was a good thing!

We then headed up to Olympia for my pulmonary appointment. I dropped Patrick off at urgent care-Kaiser. Then I went to my appointment. It was short and sweet. I also have to add the appointment to my calendar for 6 months later.

I then went back to Kaiser to pick Patrick up - so I thought. I got to urgent care, and they led me to his room. I was hooked up for infusions for calcium. They took the blood tests, and he was still low, so they added more. This all started around 1:30 pm for him.  He wasn't doing what they wanted. lol - the blood just didn't have better counts. So, we stayed and were finally let out at 8 pm. I ran my phone battery down so for the last 2 hours didn't have anything to do. We talked about having something for me to do in a bag in the car along with snacks and water. That way, we have what we need for the next time he has to go in. I know there will be more times, that's part of cancer. He just has so much going on and it's so hard to watch. He's growing older in front of me, and I can't do anything to help. I just have to sit back and watch. But he was in good health and did great. The doctor was surprised he didn't have symptoms. That's a good thing. He still golfs and does other stuff. He just doesn't like going far because of the symptoms he has from time to time.

We will be back up at Kaiser tomorrow. He has to take another blood test, and they will decide if he needs to go back in UC for more infusions before we leave.  So, today wasn't my day and it wasn't a day to be anywhere near Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Out And About Day

This morning, I was up and playing games. I watched one of my shows and then Patrick walked into the house. It was early for him, since he was golfing. He wasn't feeling good, so he napped till it was time to go to his appointment in Olympia.

At 2 pm I met with Sherry from Olympia, and we chatted in the rain. She gave me 8 quilts back from them. I went in to get my blood tests, to find out I didn't need to do that till the 21st. So, I waited on Patrick, then he got his blood tests, and we headed to moms.

Dropped off the quilts at moms and headed to Safeway. I needed something for supper since Patrick only wanted cereal. I got something and we picked up a few things we needed.

Came home, had supper and then Patrick watched Monday Night Football - Oh, WOW! What a pain! So, I listened to my book and played games. I was also thinking of what I want to take with me to Indiana that I could work on. I need to take my tablet and I will take my earbuds as well. More to think of. Beading too.

So, all in all, today was a waiting game for me. Not much to do, not much to see. It was boring, and yet I was able to get lost in games. It wasn't my day to have fun being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Yet Another Sunday......

This morning, we took advantage of the time change. I was surprised I was up earlier than I thought I would be. It did feel good to have the extra time though.

We cleaned up a bit and then we headed to the casino. We got a food warmer that is about the size for lunch time. After looking it over, we thought of Katt, and will probably give it to her. I was hoping for a bigger size to use for warm dip. But I think Katt can use it better than we can. I want the smaller crock pot and the fry pan. I can't remember what the next one is. Patrick will be picking up the other one on Veterans Day since we won't be back till Monday and I will be at the museum. It turned out to be fun. We didn't win much. I played my "Lotus" game and won $50 more than I put in. We played a couple of games that we hadn't played in a while. I played Lotus while Patrick plays 88 Fortunes. All the other times we play together. Got ice cream before we left.

Got home and wasn't in the mood for much. So, I enjoyed playing on my tablet. I will be getting ready to get my stuff ready for the trip to Indiana soon. I can wait. Plus, I can work on my beading on the plane if I want to.

It was a quiet day and a fun day. But it wasn't a fun day of Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Little Of This And A Little Of That

Today, I slept for a bit, just didn't want to get up, so I laid there awhile. It's interesting how I don't want to get out of be...
