Embroidery At Moms Today

This morning, Patrick was off golfing, and I was headed to moms. I needed to make a couple stops on the way, and then I was at moms by 9:45 am.  I was the first to get there. We chatted a bit and then Geralyn arrived. After her was Georgie.

We had a good visit. Both Geralyn and I were working on her project. She was asking about how I would do the bee she needed to do. We chatted about that. Then I was showing her my round robin stuff. I had the three right there. I decided to work on one of them.

This one was next on the list to do. I did the border and I'm working on putting the "buds" on the tree. About halfway there. I had the light green and then I needed to go bold. It's supposed to be like clown or circus colors. I know there is a lot of yellow, green, and orange. I will find some red and add that as well. Maybe my salmonberries will have the red. That will go in that area. I will need to think of another border to fill in the top line. It goes a long way. I may look for some lace or something. I haven't decided yet.

Afterwards, mom needed some help, so I helped her with finding bindings for the quilts she has. Then I helped her with some stuff on the computer. Once she was happy, I told her I would be by tomorrow to take her to the store and to Bill's for the silver thimble. It's a wait and see thing. I will need to go over around noon because our appointment with Bill is at 2 pm. Knowing mom it will be an hour in the store for groceries.

Now that she's not driving, I will have to find a way to help her. I may tell her I can help her after everyone leaves on Mondays. We can go shopping or do what she needs done. That way I'm not having to go over every other day for her. This puts a crimp in my life! I have enough stuff going on and now that she's not driving, I'm the only one around that can help her. Brother Patrick made sure he wasn't living close to her to have to do this for her. I've been doing this for over 20 years with her. Now, I'm having to do more than I really care to or want to. If we were close, it would be another story. Her pride and joy is Patrick and Christine who living in Vancouver now. Sometimes I wish she would move down there so he can care for her. I know, I'm selfish, but after 20 years, I deserve to be.

It's been a pretty good day, I enjoyed working on my embroidery which made me Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Two Busy Days!

Yesterday was the day we were collecting money for the Borst Park lighting show. I picked up some chicken at Safeway and then headed over there by 4 pm. Once that was done, we ate before getting ready for the cars to arrive. We ended up with 523 cars going through for the show. We got our donation check and will get another one later, after they figure out how much of the "keep donation" goes to our group. We had a blast. There was 6 of us and we handled it perfectly.

Today, was our tea "date" with Sandy, Sandy, Geraline and me. We had an awesome time. Must have chatted up a storm because we were the last ones to leave. It was so much fun! The "tea treats" were really good as well. This was our second year going. We will go again next year, with just the 4 of us. It works out better that way.

We arrived with the chocolate on the teacup and the menu in the envelope. I think Sandy II took the menu home. lol

I brought home some of the deserts that were there on the top. It was so good! We couldn't eat it all! But I did bring some home for Patrick. Since I had enough.

Got home around 4 pm and let Debbie know. She came over to work on the quilt she was giving to her daughter for Christmas. We worked on adding a few quilting stitches to the quilt. It took us about 3 hours to get that done. She used my Juki sewing machine that is for quilting. It worked out great. I may end up changing to that machine to sew. I will try it later and see how it sews for me.

So, I think that counts for being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Got Started Early Today

This morning, Patrick went to Safeway and moms. He went to help mom move her clothes from the dresser to the spare room. She's getting a new bedroom set, a little at a time.

While Patrick was gone, I boiled potatoes to make the family Lefsa recipe. I noticed our recipe is a little different from what is out there. I think mom and dad added to their recipe over the years, but I had the one I got from mom back in the 1970's.

When Patrick got home, he helped me with cooking the Lefsa. I found that I didn't have the right rolling board or even the sleeve that goes over the rolling pins. BUT since this was my first time, I did what I could with what I have.

They turned out right. BUT I didn't have them in a "perfect circle" as we are supposed to do. I will give some to mom and Phil tomorrow. I will probably take some to our embroidery meeting on Monday as well. I love Lefsa but realized I don't eat a lot of it and neither does Patrick. lol

Then it was about 2 pm. So, I relaxed, put my earbuds in and listened to my books while Patrick watched a show I didn't care for. I was playing my Seeker's Note game. It was fun.

The rest of the day was pretty much sitting and enjoying myself. I have a busy schedule tomorrow and Sunday, so I really didn't feel like doing anything else. I will do the star bread sometime this weekend. I don't think I have time tomorrow or Sunday now that I think of it. May make it on Tuesday then.

I definitely wasn't may day for Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Finishing A Few Things Today

Today, I was lazy all morning. I was waiting for the phone call from QOV. We needed to chat about things I needed for the NAMS program. I enjoyed my chat with Kathy. She understood where I was coming from and what I was doing.

Then I goofed around for a bit while doing laundry. Once the Seahawks game started, I started to get a few things done.

First, I finished the first of two blocks for the baby quilt. Not the best picture, but I wasn't in the best spot. I was too lazy to get up and get a better photo.

Once this was done, I moved to get one of my Round Robin pieces done. I researched the books of flowers to use on the embroidery piece.

After I finished this, I felt better. Two projects done! Thank goodness. I was getting tired of being behind.

I found this pattern for the Salmonberry flower. I had fun working on this. BUT I had to practice it a few times to see what looked better. It's bullion stitches and then floss wrapped around the bullions to fill in the center. Easier than I thought. I just had to figure out how to divide it into five pieces.

I will work on the next two pieces and try to get all three out in the mail for the next person in the round robin.

At least I got myself to get my butt up and work on something! I am just Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Productive Day - Sort Of

This morning, Patrick was up way before me. He was going to go golfing, but the weather was still rainy and windy. So, he was watching the news.

I was up and found the water was off. Patrick had to go check on the well. Then he called our systems "people" and they found that the motor was buried out. So, after 8 hours of no water, they fixed the problem. I needed to get my accounting updated, so I balanced the checkbook, and then wanted to add some income in there. EXCEPT I got a message asking me if I wanted to do something, like clear my "fix" and said yes. It wiped out the enter accounting back to 2024!! So, I was cussing when Patrick came to see what was up. I hadn't backed it up since 2023, so that didn't help at all! Patrick looked for an "undo" button on what I did - and NOPE wasn't there.

SO, I ended up getting the bank records Patrick printed out each year. We had our meeting in September, so the good news was that he had all the information up to Sept. Which meant I still needed to record it all back in. I did the billing for next year, and thank goodness, I had who owed till the end of the year. My deposits where the problem because I didn't have who made what deposit. Thank goodness for those billing statements! We were able to get the bookkeeping back where it was. I have backed up the program twice now. I'm thankful I keep my records in the checkbook updated! If I didn't have that and relied completely on the computer, I would be in deep, deep trouble.

Once all that was fixed, I pulled out the dogs that I need to have appliqued and finished for the baby quilt.

I love my lightbox. I was able to get the second dog ready to applique, then I can do the embroidery. I know I need to do the round robins but I'm holding off on that right now. One thing at a time.

I used the back basting method. I like it. I will work on this after the other one is done. Sophie wasn't happy I was working on this. She kept licking and pushing my hand to pay attention to here. I was able to get it done though.

I marked the areas where I needed to work on the outlining. I worked on some of it tonight. I can finish this tomorrow if I put my mind to it. I'm getting farther on this. Once it's done, I will take it to moms, and she can add it to the other blocks.

I decided to call it done for the day. Too much was going on today! It's called, - What A DAY!

At least I was able to find time for Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Physical Therapy And Moms

Today, I had PT at 3 pm. So, first thing today, I cleaned. I got the kitchen cleaned and in order, vacuumed the house, and worked on laundry.

Then I went out for a walk. Once all that was done, Patrick came home from golfing. I played on my tablet for a bit and then had to head over to the church to pick up 3 quilts that were ready. Once all that was done, I headed to moms. Dropped the 3 quilts off with her and Debbie's quilt to see what we could do. Mom was going to bind the 3 quilts and try to see if hand quilting would work on the quilt.

Then we played with some of her blocks.

We had this at first, then started to move blocks around.

Didn't like what we had, so moved more blocks around. We tried again for 2 more trys.

Then ended up with this. it was a process that take time. But we were able to get this far. Mom started pinning the blocks together in rows so she would know how to sew them together. It's a start and it's another quilt that will be done.

I headed to PT for my last appointment. We pretty much chatted about my progress and he's sending a report to my primary doctor as well as my sports medicine doctor. I'm not crazy about the sports medical doctor. He just wasn't much help.

Stopped and got chicken at Safeway. A guy next to me asked if "you have breasts" and the gal answered, yes, I do. We broke out laughing and the poor guy was more shocked than anything. He didn't laugh and he acted as if he didn't get it. We did. Then he pointed to the chicken and said, I meant this. She just laughed and said, "I know what you meant," still laughing.

Came home and it was late. So, I didn't pull anything out to work on. I will try and do that later this week. I really do need to get moving on what I have!

At least I can say, I was with mom who was Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Spent The Day At The Casino

This morning, I was up and moving around. Patrick asked when we should leave for the casino. Told him around 10 am would be good.

We stopped and got moms prescription at Walgreen's. I hate going in there! I have to wait FOREVER for them to ask what I want. I ran into a friend of moms, and they asked about her.  Then they told me he does wood working and asked if I would like one of his pieces. Said sure. Then he took me out to the car and gave me the only piece he had out there. It's really nice. It's signed on the back, and it was done in 2019. He loves doing the work and give them away. We stopped and dropped off the prescription at moms. Then we headed to Lucky Eagle.

I wanted to get the dishes that were a gift from them to me. I signed in and got the ticket. I was a little worried because I had to wait till 2 pm to get it. We had the choice of the pie plate with lid and carry case or the baking set of 2 square dishes with lid and carry case. I wanted the 2 square dishes.

So, we played, and played, and played. We didn't spend all the money we took to play with. We came home with half, but we played a good 6 hours. There were a couple times I thought, "ok, we're done," but then one of us would win $150 to keep going. I was okay with that. We love to play. Hate it when we don't get to play long, but today we were able to. We enjoyed it. That's all that matters. Plus, we really don't do much of anything else.

Came home around 6:30 pm. We ate at the casino and got some more candy bars for Patrick. When our card gets our food at half price, it's not bad to sit and eat there before coming home when we have played that long.

I wasn't anywhere close to Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Play Day

This morning, I was up shortly after Patrick. He seems to be up around 7 am anymore. He used to sleep till 10 am. Now that he golfs so early, he seems to get up early.

We went to the play at the theater in Centralia. It was "The Best Christmas Pageant" or something close to that. There were a lot of kids. Now the theater is full more often than not. It was pretty full today. Patrick said a month ago that he had a hard time finding seats for 2 of us. They were good seats though.

Came home after going to Safeway for potatoes. I want to make grandmother's Lefsa. I will do that this week.

I pretty much relaxed after we got back from the play. I could have worked on something but just wasn't in the mood.

As much as I wanted to be, I wasn't Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Getting Closer To Finishing The Quilt

This morning, I was up before hubby. That's unusual. But was nice for once.

I had my war game at noon and then back at 4:30 pm. So, I wanted to get some work done downstairs in the meantime. It was time to get back to my quilt tops.

I had to trim some of the side borders. It wouldn't fit the blocks that go in the corners. I had to take a break when I was to this point.

Came back downstairs and found that I had to take this apart and cut a longer piece of white. Somehow, I had them short. So, I got to work. It didn't take long, but it was no fun ripping it out.

In between doing the quilt, I was baking bread. I had 4 small loaves. I gave two to the neighbors.

I got this far, then realized I need another 5" to the quilt all the way around. I was trying to decide what to do. I decided I'm not going to put another fabric there. Instead, I'm going to put a strip of white around it and bind it with the red in the middle. I have just enough.

While I was trying to decide, I worked on doing two of the pillowcases for a couple quilts that are done.

I will finish them later.

Came upstairs. My tablet ran out of energy, so I decided to get my embroidery going. I pulled out the dog for the quilt. I have 2 to get done and I need to work on it NOW. As well as the round robin pieces.

This is close to getting done. I have the bow tie on wrong, so I will have to deal with it when I mark where I need to do the outlines. I'm almost there. I need to use my light box to get the lines on there.

At least I was able to find time to enjoy both by being Happy Quilting & Happy Stitching!

Casino Day

We left for the casino around 10 am and didn't make it home till around 6 pm. That goes to show how much fun we were having. We pretty much came out even on the deal. We were winning, but not enough at times. lol We just had fun playing on their money. We had been close to getting 3K but it just didn't happen. We were okay with at.

Both of us needed to get out of the house. Patrick hasn't been able to golf for a week, and I have been pretty much lazy all week. This was a way to get us something to do that we enjoy.

It wasn't a day to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Don't I Know It!

Yea today was one of those days, I didn't do squat! Don't I know it! I have a ton of stuff I could have done but didn't.

I did go and pick up my embroidery that was framed! I love it. But if I post it, it will be a gift that was "let out of the bag." So, I will post it later, after it's given away. I did do laundry - oh wow! As if I don't do that every day!

I know! I have so much that needs to be done, and what do I do?! I sit and relax all day. I didn't do anything constructive.  I didn't even worry about anyone else. UGH -

My list of things I could have done, well let's see, I could have finished the quilt on the wall, I could have worked on the round robins - yes 3 - I have, I could have worked on the cross stitching I started, AND OH YEA, I could have started to quilt that quilt that has been waiting on me for over 5 years if not more! And yet, I did nothing!

Even Sophie was giving me the eye, wondering if I would do something or even just get up. NOPE! I did do my stretches, so I guess that something - BUT it's not being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!!!

Tried To Go To The Casino - Flooding!

Today, we woke with little flooding in our area. But Centralia got more last night. They are expecting more this evening as well. We are not getting the rain they are up north, but we do have rivers going over the banks.

Patrick had his dental appointment today at 1 pm. We went there. I played my games in the car waiting on him. Then we headed to the casino, since Facebook stated it was open. As we were arriving, all the cars were leaving. We asked the attendant what was up and he said the water was coming over the banks and they closed the casino. So, we got in the line to head back home.

On the way back, we were seeing all the water coming from the river to the farm lands.

The road over there was covered in water.

Stopped at Safeway to pick up a few things for supper and then came home. I just gave up and played my games. I wasn't in the mood to do much. It was late anyway to do anything.

Tomorrow is another day, and who knows, I may just be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Day Of Baking And Playing!

This morning, I was up and getting my sugar cookie receipt to work on the dough. It needed to be in for a couple of hours in the refrigerator.

Woke to being told of the flood in the area. The area by us, exit 76 on I5, was closed because of the water over the road. It calmed down some, but I canceled my appointment with physical therapy. Thought there would be water over the road to get into town to see him. Patrick and I went into town to get a few things at Safeway, and it didn't seem to be bad, but we did see where it was over the road for a bit. Sounds like it's going to get worse in the next 2 days. The river never us is flooded as well as the golf course where Patrick plays.

Came home, baked the cookies and decorated.

I did something different this year. It turned out pretty good, but I was tired of doing them after about a dozen cookies. Then I just dumped the frosting on the cookies that were left and called it good. I like doing this, but it takes a crap load of time. I was baking and decorating for 4 hours today! UGH!

Now I'm just trying to relax but I'm starting to fall asleep in the chair. What a day! AND I wasn't nearly Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Monday, December 8, 2025

Finally! Finished!

Today, was one of those days where it poured! Rained all day! They are expecting flooding, so it's going to be interesting the next couple of days.

I headed out to Georgie's house for embroidery. I pulled out my Round Robin piece out to work on. Yep, I forgot I had it and needed to finish it.

After putting that on there, I realized I didn't have any other colors to add to the next flower, so I'm going to have to go digging in my box for something that will work with pink. It's a little on the bright side, only because I am not a pastel person and it's hard for me to go that direction. I will work on it, and I will try and add a few leaves to go with the flowers.

Then I realized, not only did I not have the floss, but I also didn't have scissors or needles. I think they are in the other bag that I have for when an emergency comes up.

So, I pulled out the dog I was working on for Bob's grandson. I was able to get the black around the tail. I need to mark the lines so I can put the black floss around it and make it look like a dog. I am going to do satin stitch where the tough goes. Called it done about there.

Took mom to her doctor appointment. There was way too much rain coming down and he didn't feel comfortable coming up with us excepting 2-4" of rain overnight. We are on flood warning and so is he in Vancouver. So, I was in the area and decided I could go ahead and take mom to her appointment. She's doing a lot better.

Came home and got to work on my ornaments. I need to drop off two of them to Phil and Emily. I will do that tomorrow since I need to go to Safeway and my physical therapy. It will be a wet day, but it needs to be done. I'm hoping flooding doesn't start tonight or tomorrow. Would be nice if it waits a day or two.

I finally got them done.

Another finish for the year. Not bad. I just have a few more things to work on and then I'm good and ready.

Best part is that I finished something to make me Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Beading & WWII Dinner

Today, I wanted to get moving more on the ornaments. I also needed to get some laundry done, but I only had time for two loads. I did clean a few things that we always do on Sundays.

Before I left for the ceremony, I was able to get all three of the ornament panels hooked together.

Then it was 1:00 pm and I needed to get out the door. We thought we would be giving out a quilt at the WWII dinner. It was an awesome presentation! But, nope, we didn't have someone to give the quilt to. But we did enjoy a good meal and a great presentation about WWII. I think more people need to think and talk about what those veterans went through. I lost a great Uncle shortly after he returned from the war. He had a brain issue that killed him. Had to be because of the bombs going off around him. If we talked about history, we wouldn't repeat it. We had three WWII veterans, and they were 100 years old, 101 years old and 103 years old. The 103 year old, you won't know it! He was up and going as if he was 70 years old. He talked like he was 20 years old. A BIG kick!

Came home around 4:30 pm. I needed to get back to my ornaments, and I decided to stay away from my tablet. That way I would get something done!

I was able to get two of the three ornament tops done. I have one more set to do, and then they will just need the tassels added. I'm really close to finishing these.

I was getting my embroidery stuff ready for tomorrow and realized, I have the applique to finish as well as the round robin stuff. I will try and get one of the done and start on another. I have three applique and three embroidery things to do. I really have more than I thought!

I'm stressing like crazy. I think it's because I have a list of things I want to do but can't get to right now. I'm going to try and finish all this stuff before the end of the year; take a deep breath and hope everything works out.

Trying to find time for Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Getting Closer To Finishing Stuff

This morning started out pretty good. When I finally got moving, Debbie asked me to go to Dutch Brothers for a drink. I said sure. So, we headed to DB before we worked on her quilt for her grandson. Came home, with a drink for Patrick and then headed downstairs to figure out what she needed for the quilt.

Once she left, we had a few packages arriving. So, I think we are ready for the holidays now.

Then I sat down at the table and finished the panel for the ornaments. Once that was done, I pulled out all my beads and things and got to work on the tassels.

Three sets of tassels are done! It only took all afternoon. Even after supper! But I was able to get them done. Hopefully tomorrow, I can work on them. Except I have a WWII dinner to attend tomorrow and want to take the quilts to the museum that I have here at the house.

I have the top part of the ornament figured out and it's ready for me to get started on putting them together. Trouble is I'm wondering when I will be able to work on them. But at least for today, it turned out to be a day of Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Running Around AGAIN

Patrick didn't go golfing today. So, it was nice to sleep till 8 am.

Got up and then tried to get ready to go do what I needed to today. I left the house around 9:30 am. First to Safeway, then to moms. I stayed about an hour with mom. Put out her wreath on the door. Then put her supplies away that she bought from Costco. Once all that was done, I picked up one quilt from mom.

Next stop was Colleens, and I spend about another hour there. We chatted a while. She gave me two quilts, and I gave her two. I need to get them out of the car. lol

Got gas and came home.

Then we headed out to Denny Taylor's for him to frame my Bonsai tree piece. I want to give it away at Christmas. He said he would let me know the costs when he starts working on it. I'm going to be fine with what he does. His work is the best and a lot cheaper than Michael's or any of the other stores. I need to finish my other piece so I can get it done. Patrick thinks he can do the framing, but I like a professional job. Patrick doesn't cut to the size; he uses frames from the store.

Came home and I just wanted to relax, which I did. After supper I decided I SERIOUSLY needed to work on the ornament. So, I worked on it some.

I seem to be doing a third of it at a time. I will finish this tomorrow and get them put together; I need to stop wasting my time! Once this panel is done, then I will pull out my sets and get to work on getting the ornaments completed. I wanted to do another one, but at this rate, it's not going to happen.

Mom's quilt group went to lunch without her today. I thought it was rude of them. They could have waited a couple weeks and then gone out. Mom was hurt by it as well. So, I ended up sending out a message to them all with her words. She wanted them to know she started the Friday day group in the 1990's and that it was every week, up to two years ago. Then it went to every other Friday. She let them know if they want it changed again, it wasn't going to happen and that it's her house. She also said they need to brown bag it come January when they will start back up. She had a little bite to her, but I reworded it a bit, so it wouldn't sound like she was ticked off. Which she was, and understandably. At least I'm now with them anymore.

We are meeting next Monday at Georgie's house. I don't think mom can handle that much right now.

Today, was running around from one thing to another, but I did find some time to try being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Cleaning Day & Baking

This morning, Patrick was golfing. I was able to sleep a little bit. Then I got up and ordered some sugar cookie cutters, squeeze bottles, and some different size cookie rollers. I will be ready for sugar cookies and want to be "professional" with the designs. LOL - good luck with that!

Then I vacuumed and did laundry. Woo-Hoo! Once all that was done, I played till about 2 pm. Then headed downstairs to get some backing and batting done to take a couple quilts to Colleen tomorrow.

Cutting batting for 6 quilts and backing for 4. I figure I can do the others later. I need to wash the backings but won't do it for a while.

Came back upstairs and baked my Scandinavian Almond Bread. It was really good! Patrick had to eat it before it cooled. UGH

Then I spend the rest of the evening playing my games. I seriously need to stop that!! It's not getting me any closer to being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

December Is Here!

I wanted to sleep in, but Patrick was already up. He doesn't sleep in much anymore. Dang.

I was up and getting ready to leave for the casino. It turned out to be a short day at the casino. We played off the money they gave us for the week. I won a $750 jackpot. Then we played with that money. We ended up leaving and bringing $100 home. It just wasn't his day, and it wasn't very lucky for us. We'd win big and then it took it all. When we changed machines, they weren't winning much either. So, after a couple hours of losing what we won, we decided to call it a day.

We stopped at Arby's for lunch and then came home. I tried to play and listen to my book, but Patrick had other ideas and I ended up stopping every 5 minutes. He wanted my attention too much. We did work on the kids gifts for Christmas, so that's a good think but frustrating. I will be taking my embroidery to Denny Taylor to frame. It's a gift for Christmas if I can get it done in time. No worries.

We then left for the new movie "Zootopia 2" because I wanted to see it. I loved it! It was so good! I would go see it again! May have to watch it when it comes on Disney. LOL Made for a long day but not so long too.

HOPEFULLY, tomorrow I can get a couple things done to get ready for Christmas!

I would love to get back to being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Another Day Of Running Around

This morning, I waited till about 10:45 am to get moving. I didn't realize till after I left that I was an hour earlier than I wanted to be. I got the times messed up. My first stop was at Safeway for the nicotine patch; to find out they didn't carry them. Then I stopped at CVS and was able to get the correct patch that mom needed. Next on the list was the museum. I needed up waiting for a while to see if Chip could answer a couple questions for me. Yes, we will have a quilt for a WWII veteran and no, he didn't know if the Chronicle will be there. So, I put Debbie on it. Last stop was Walgreens for our Christmas cards. Now I have to do that as well!

I stopped and got tea for both mom and me. Since I had to stop by. I don't want to have to stop again for a few days. I'm tired of all this. She's doing a LOT better and she's feeling better. I think after she had the Ensure Protein drink, that helped her to sleep. She was in a lot better mood as well. I sat and chatted for an hour. Then I headed to my PT appointment. Bob is saying he thinks it's in my back more than it's in my ankle. It feels like it's in the ankle, but he knows what he's talking about. He hit a few sore spots around my hip area. So, I figure he knows what he's talking about. He is going to request my doctor do an MRI on my spine. UGH

Came home after all that. Finally got home around 2:45 pm. Patrick was already home. I just needed a break from everything. So, I played on my tablet. I will work on my ornaments by Thursday. I also realized I need to do my panel quilts if we have 10 active-duty members. They should get the panel quilts and not the regular quilts. That got me in the mood of - "not now." UGH!!

It's been an interesting few days. I'm not a caregiver and I don't want to be. Nancy stopped by and she reminded mom of the quilt group luncheon. Guess they are still going to have it, when mom can't go. I thought that was rude, because they use moms house to quilt, but when she's not feeling well, they go out to eat without her. If it was me, I would probably let them know I wouldn't care for that.

I will be going to the casino tomorrow and that should help calm me down. I really am tired of all the work I have had to do. At times, I wish mom would have stayed with my brother in Vancouver, but I know she knew I would take better care of her than he would. Just my luck.

I wasn't having a day that I would have like to have - being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

All Day With Mom

Today, I was up early to make the phone call to the doctors to get mom in. I ended up leaving a message and waiting. I waited a good 45 minutes and decided to go over and see about making it in person. As I was headed to the bank, I received the call. We had an appointment at 1:45 pm. Yet, I was on my way at 9:00 am. Which left me with 3 hours of waiting.......and waiting. ....

I got to moms and she looked good. I told her of the appointment, and I let my brother know as well.  I didn't take anything to work on, but I did have the bag out in the car that has stuff I could work on.

I asked mom if she had eaten and she said she did, but nothing tastes good. So, I got her ice cream. As I was going to get it for her, she said she wanted cookies, but she didn't have any. Which had me making her some M&M cookies. I got the original chocolate chip cookie receipt and got to work.

I ended up cleaning her kitchen and putting her dishes away while I baked. I had to clean her blender as well. But by the time I was done, I still had another hour and a half to wait. So, I went and got my bag and got to work on my potholder.

I finished it just before the timer when off to go to her appointment.

We were there on time, she got another doctor because her's was on jury duty. Once she got in, I asked a lot of questions, and he gave me the answers. Mom talked most of the time. I didn't agree with her on a couple things. She said she doesn't sleep in her chair and I told him she does. So, they are going to work on her sleep to see if that could be the problem for her at night.

I had to go to Walgreens to get some nicotine patches. It took me a good half hour and then I got the wrong stuff. It's expensive too! So, I need to go tomorrow and get her another box of the right stuff. UGH!! I took it back to her. Then I came home. It was 3:45 pm before I got home. NOT happy! Brother Patrick missed out on the doctor visit because he got too busy.

I decided I was tired and would fix supper for myself and call it good. I didn't want to do ANYTHING since my day was GONE! I was hoping it would be a day of getting stuff done - Hell NO! So, hopefully tomorrow will be different, I have a PT appointment tomorrow.

At least I had something in the car to keep me Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Embroidery At Moms Today

This morning, Patrick was off golfing, and I was headed to moms. I needed to make a couple stops on the way, and then I was at moms by 9:45 ...
