Dentist And Another Trip To Olympia UGH

Patrick was out the door before I was up. He went golfing again. I slept for another 30 mins, then got up. I realized I needed to get a few things done before I left for the dentist.

First things first, I printed more labels for Val. She was due at 9:30 am. I printed labels that we needed as well. Then I went and worked on getting labels on the quilts in the back room. I had about 11 quilts that were here. I wanted to get them to the museum today. While I was marking the labels, I realized I didn't get photos of them. So, I took a couple pictures but not near as many as I should have.

I love how this quilt came out, so I'm going to do a couple more kits to get more made. This is really pretty, and Patrick did a good job on the colors. He's going to have to do a couple more for me.

This is one of the quilts we got in the mail. So, I just needed to get it ready for the museum.

I loaded the car with all the quilts as well as the 2 boxes I forgot for Colleen. Then I was out the door by 10 am.

Arriving at the dentists around 10:15 am. My appointment wasn't till 10:30 am. I didn't even get a chance to sit down when she came out to get me. I like that fast service! lol I passed all the tests and got my teeth cleaned in the process. She coated my teeth with fluoride (sp). I didn't realize it has my teeth with white lines and covers. I met up with Colleen and could help but try to rub my teeth to get the grime of.

Headed to the museum where Debbie met me. We folded all the quilts, adding pillowcases to them. We cleaned up the area and counted the quilts. We have enough to do 9 veterans this month, so we are going to get them done. I need one more and then we will have 9 to honor.

Came home and waited an hour before we had to head out for Olympia. I had a dermatology appointment. This time I had a different Doctor and I really, really like her! I don't care for the gal before her. This turned out to be a good visit. I will be getting some cream in the mail.

After that, we headed to comcast to change our "package" because $275 was a bit much. We dropped the land line phone and got basic TV. We do streaming so it won't hurt. The only channel we didn't get that Patrick wanted was the cooking channel. At least we saved $80 a month! We were surprised thinking we would only save about $20. That made us feel better.

Off to the Outback for supper. We both got the 3-course meal. It was really good.

By the time we got home, I wasn't in the mood to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Embroidery Day

It was embroidery day. I was off and out the door by 9:30 am. I forgot to take the boxes with me to take to Colleen. I will try and do that tomorrow.

Arrived to see Geralyn already there. Sandy V didn't come because she had a cold or Covid and she wasn't sure which. Think she said she was going to the doctors if she could get in. Geralyn and I enjoyed a bit before more came in. Mom joined us and we were asking about Geralyn's mother, since she's been in and out of the hospital this year. Mom and her where chatting about my grandmother and her mother. I was trying to work on my Seattle piece to try and get it done before retreat. I figured out I was missing the patterns. I don't know what I did with the patterns.

I had to fix the space needle because the couching stitches were so loose. I don't know how they got so loose, but they did. I took it out and put it back in. Then I started to work on the tree. I need to fill in the bottom a bit more, I think. I also need to work on the top. I was doing each branch at a time. There is more needed for that tree. Came home and started going through my stuff to find the patterns. Still no luck. I can't figure out what I did with them. I know it's in my embroidery bag, but not sure what I did with it. UGH Sent a message to Sandy letting her know I can't find the patterns and asked if she would send them to me. She was in the hospital with her husband. So, it may be a while before I get them. I guess I will have to keep looking.

On my way home I picked up some iced tea for Patrick and a med. order of fries at McD's. I haven't had their fries in a while and was hungry for them. It made up for my lunch - that I didn't get. lol

It got hot again today, not as bad as yesterday but still too hot for me. I slept good last night, so it's okay so far. Even when we have been in the 100's I have been able to sleep in the bedroom without having to go downstairs.

I played my games for a bit and then pulled out my ornament to work on.

I didn't start this till about 2:30 pm. At least when someone asks me how long it takes, I've got it right. I can do 1-2 panels a day if I put my mind to it. I was able to finish the one I started yesterday and start on the next one, which is where I had it before I started working on the first panel. It's fun. I have 3 panels done with 3 panels to go. Won't be long, I hope.

Sophie let me know how she felt about me working on this. lol She wasn't budging.

I was still able to get as much done as I did even with her there trying to stop me from being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

I Love To Play Games

We decided to get "cool" at the casino today. Our house does not have air conditioning. I could go downstairs and work down there but didn't want to.

We arrived around 11 or noon at the casino. It was nice and cool. I even took a jacket to wear because it's a lot colder in the casino then it was at my house. We sent about 5 hours there. It felt good to be in the cool area. We were winning for a while, then we lost it. But we played on the money they gave me for a good 3 hours. It was fun and we really weren't ready to come home. They had ice cream in the deli area, so we had some. Then we played some more.

On the way home I called mom to see how she was doing. She seems happy today. She said she has a ton of stuff for me, which I don't doubt. But 2 tops are among them.

Got home around 5 pm. I missed out on the virtual embroidery meeting. And I missed out on the end of the war game that was going on. Which was fine. I am now just working to get stronger in my accounts so I can win a few of the bigger fights.

Now the day is over, and I am okay with just playing games all day. I have always loved to play games. I would always look for someone to play cards with or any board game. I drove my brothers crazy because strategizing games is what I love to do. It's a puzzle I want to play.

Tomorrow is embroidery at the grange. We will all be there except Sandy "1" because she's working on Mondays now. We keep hoping she will be back with us soon.

Time to call it a day. Yet I will be playing on my tablet in bed till I'm ready to sleep. It relaxes me. I will hopefully be enjoying my crafts tomorrow. It will feel good to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Interesting Day - One Thing To Another

This morning, we headed out to Safeway to pick up a few things. I remember being a checker and the gal we were in line for - WAS SLOW!! I would have gone through 4 people by the time she had one person done! She didn't seem to care either. We must have waited in line over 10 minutes for her to do the 2 people in front of us. When I was a cashier, if I saw people waiting in line, I picked up my checking speed. This gal was slow all the way. Not in any hurry to get done.

After unloading all the groceries, I headed into the computer room. I needed to be ready for Bryan to call. When he did, we spend 2 to 3 hours on getting more information on the ALLEN family. He was working on them, but I was wanting to get into more our direct line. He's looking for relatives, and this was one way to do that. I also worked on Findagrave. After he was done, I talked to Debbie while still working on the family tree. We added more names. I finally called it done.

Went to play on my game. I have 2 kingdoms, and they are fighting with other alliances right now. It's a 24 hour fight. I did what I could in one kingdom. Then I went back to my other kingdom and got the war started. Everyone was asleep in the one I was playing in. I was able to get a lot of points. Now it's up to my alliance to do more.

Our shows where one tonight, so I was able to work on my beading as well. I would do the beading and watch the game. Trouble is, a few of them I didn't get notified they were attacking till after the fact.

My first set of snowmen are done. I was going to stop here but then decided to work on the next one.

I was able to get a few stitches in before calling it a night. I'm done.

I had a good day. It's interesting that Patrick isn't hungry around supper time and can't figure out what to eat. Then if I ask in the morning or afternoon, he's already eaten and not hungry. This guy eats all day long but can't figure out what he wants for supper. I'm getting tired of just "something" and not a meal. I ended up getting some stuffed mushrooms from Safeway and had half that today. It's good, but I don't know, not really a meal?!

I'm trying to get my beading going with the ornaments for this year. I have to pull out my next set for this year. But first I have to get this done for Phil and Emily since they missed out on that year. I think it went to mom to be honest. At least I am trying very hard to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Finally - A Day For ME

This morning, Patrick went golfing. I got up about 30 mins after he left. Then I enjoyed sitting down and playing games. I even watched the documentary on Gene Wilder. It was interesting but only worked on his carrier and not on his childhood.  It was pretty good. Surprised me a couple times. I didn't watch all his movies, partly because it was too silly for me. I never understood why movies made silly movies that were way out in the field. It wasn't funny to me because I didn't understand the jokes sometimes.

Then I pulled out my beading.

After Gene Wilder documentary, I watched a British show of murder. One of their cop shows. I am finding that they are all similar. Just like our shows. They all have a guy and a gal. They all work together to figure out who did it. Like the comedy shows - same show different people.

Then we shut the TV off and I worked on my beading, listening to my book on tape. I do like listening to my books while I work. Better than watching the same old same old that Patrick likes to watch.

I can say, in working on this ornament, that I finished a whole panel and worked on the next. The panel that I started on was around the bottom of the vest area. I now have it close to the bottom of the panel. So, I'm happy to say I can do one panel in a day if I put my mind to it.

Which made my day a success! Patrick didn't have any bright ideas of doing something. The glass guys came and couldn't replace the glass due to not having the right size ladder. So, it will be a day or two before they can come back.

I had planned on working on genealogy while they were here. Patrick wanted the computer, so I set the timer for an hour and worked on his family history. I got a few more names added. Only about 5 but I was working on it. I could add more, but that was off the branch a-ways, and I need to stay on the tree more. At least, today, I did what I wanted to do, not what was asked of me to do. It felt good. And I enjoyed working on the beads, which made me Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

I Tried

Today, I slept in. Hoping to have a day to myself, doing 'Not Much.' But hey, we all know how that works out for me.

Trouble is, my hubby is home with me ALL DAY! Which usually means he has something for me to do. Yep, that's how that works. I ended up having to clean the kitchen so that we could make apple sauce. He picked the apples 2 days ago. So, he wanted to make the apple sauce before the apples went bad. Lucky me. I ended up peeling the apples while he cut them and started cooking them. Then he walked away. When I noticed they needed stirring, the bottom was burnt. So, I had to move the sauce out of that pan to another. Which he had the nerve to say it was my fault the apple sauce started to burn, because I was supposed to cook it. Yet, he wanted to cut the apples and get it started. Go figure!

Next was the croutons. I had a garlic parmesan bread from Costco that he wanted to make into croutons. I baked them. The last batch had a few burnt pieces but not enough to complain about. He must have eaten them all because I just realized I didn't see them in the kitchen when I turned out the light.

I decided I needed to get away from him and his TV, so went into the computer room and worked on the ELDER and MATHESON family history. I think I added another 50 names or there abouts. I'm now at 14k family members in my "Taylor" family side. Most of those are on moms' side and not dads. I need to work on the Wiltzius tree and will probably do that here soon.

I also worked on doing another beading pattern. I looked for Katt's cat photo to see if I could use it.

I wanted to do this one, but the board behind her is as dark as she is. When I did it, that area came out black and you couldn't see where she started and ended.

So, I did this one. The weird part is that the flowers in the back have the same colors in her fur. But one can tell where she started and ends before getting to the curtain or whatever. I'm thinking of doing this one, once Sophie is done. It will be 6 months before I do it though. At least this one worked out okay.

About that time, I decided to just sit and relax. I would have listened to my book, but that wouldn't work with Patrick. He talks while he watches the game shows. Which means half the time he's talking to the TV and half the time he makes a comment just to see if I'm listening. Think it's a game with him.

As much as I tried to do my own things, it didn't work. As much as I wanted to work on my beading, it didn't work. I may have to go into town tomorrow, so I'm thinking I won't try and see if I can tomorrow. It will be interesting - since today I wasn't Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Back To Olympia Today

This morning, I was up after Patrick left for his physical therapy appointment. I wanted to sleep in.

When I did get up, I had a few things to do. I needed to get the veterans entered into the system to receive a quilt. I had 8 to do. Half of them went elsewhere. I sent a message to Cindy to let her know what was what.

I was also able to get some genealogy done. I was going through the Elder family and found a couple that I was missing information on. I had to do all that before 12:15 pm. I had another appointment in Olympia.

We left around 12:30 pm and was up to my appointment about 15 minutes beforehand. I was early and they didn't seem to mind that. It has to do with my kidney functions. They can't seem to figure out why I'm doing what I'm doing as far as the kidneys. We will check on the medications first and go from there. It wasn't all that important because I don't have to see her again for 6 months. I'm okay with that. While I was there, I got a call from Kaiser. I ended up calling on the way home. They had me scheduled with the wrong surgeon. So, I had to reschedule my appointment. It's not that important, just checking on my breast area where the cancer was. So, I am now scheduled for October. No worries. I told her that I wasn't too worried about it. I could have gotten in in September but that would be in Tacoma. I wanted to be here in Olympia. It's all good.

Came home to find time for "something." Trying to decide on the "something" is fun.

I decided since I had a couple hours, I would do another row on the cat. I was able to add 1 row. It's better than not adding anything.

The rest of the evening I played my games. The best part is that after all this time, I finally found time to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Casino Day.....AFTER PT

This morning, we headed to my physical therapy appointment. Patrick waited out in the car while I went in. We took a walk and said hi to Patrick as we passed by. After the appointment, Penny was waiting. It was funny to see her there.

Got in the car and off we went to the casino. The gift was a travel type blanket for the beach. It's waterproof and zips up for easy carrying. Not bad actually. I got that after we left, but got my ticket when we arrived around 11:30 pm. We got home about 6:30 pm. So, we were there all afternoon. It felt good and we had a good time. I put some of my money in and won $750, so made sure to bring $150 home for me. I also split it with Patrick. He put some of his money in too, but pretty much lost his. lol We ate there as well. I wanted to get some fish and chips, but he was stuck on his French Dip. We split the meal because we don't want to bring home leftovers. So, I sucked it up and had the French Dip. Mostly ate the fries. lol

Yet again, today was not a day of Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

So Much For A QUIET Day

Patrick was off golfing, and I was sleeping in. When I got up, I decided I wasn't in the mood to do anything. So, I started laundry.

Patrick got home and made the comment that I said I would make the zucchini bread of grandmothers. I told him I could do it tomorrow, but NO, we were going to be gone tomorrow, and zucchini doesn't last long, so the sooner I do it the better. UGH He also reminded me about something else that needed to be done, so I had to do that first. Not my day.

I got to work on the kitchen, since the dishwasher was needing to be unloaded. There were the 2 cast on pans that needed cleaning. So, of course that had to be done first. I washed the stuff that needed to be washed. Then I got to work on his zucchini.

I had to rinse it, cut it, and peel it. Then I could shred it for the bread. I always freeze the left over for another time. It was getting to be a pain, cutting, peeling and then turning around to shred it. I made Patrick help me since it was his idea. I also let him know several times, that today was supposed to be my day for NOTHING. Of course, the laundry was still moving, and I had to fold the clothes, towels, and sheets. At least Patrick did the towels before he started helping me. We ended up with 6 bags of 2 cups shredded zucchini. He made me cut off the seeds. I usually just shred the seeds as well. lol

I know, bad picture but I took it at night. Plus, Patrick up it away, so I had to take it out and take a picture.

It's grandmothers Zucchini Bread recipe that's in the other blog of mine. I will show the photo there. I was sent back in time with this bread! Grandma always made it around this time of year.

Once all that was done, it was cleaning up the kitchen again. Finishing up the laundry. By the time I could sit and do NOTHING, it was Family Feud time. So, I didn't get to enjoy the day as I was planning - OH Crap - I planned my day - and we all know how that goes!!

Now I have 3 quilt tops that are going to quilters tomorrow. That should keep us going for a while. I have another quilt top downstairs. I made sure to end out the non-monetary donation forms to QOV and mail it to the sender. I still need to get the nomination forms in that I have. I will do that this week.

We didn't do all that good at Panada this last Thursday. Shame. But at least we did make some money.

AGAIN, it wasn't meant to be - Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Enjoying The Day, Then Back To The Fair

Today, another day. it was the usual Sunday morning where we clean up and make the house look good. At least that's what I hope. Had to get the laundry going, then get the cat litter taken care of. I decided we need another mat for the little box area. I ordered it today. Trouble with that is it won't be here for about a week. Patrick got the bathrooms done and I worked on the kitchen.

When all that was done, I went downstairs and cut batting and backing for 3 quilts. I had 2 battings already cut, so it was mostly the backing. Then got those washed for the quilters. I need to add them to the bags and mark the bags where they are going. I will need to add a border to the quilt we got in, because it's a hair short. I hope they don't mind. OR I may just leave it alone and get it ready to quilt. I was setting up the panel quilt to work on. Still thinking about it right now. Will get Patrick's help and get it done. Then my nephews needs to be done.

We had supper early today. I had to leave by 4 pm. I ended up driving to moms to drop off her glasses she left in the car. Didn't say much, just dropped off the glasses. When I set them on the table, there were 2 other pairs there as well. She didn't need them that fast, I'm thinking.

Got to the fair around 4:30 pm. Sat with Colleen and she was working on some blocks. I need to check out all the blocks that are coordinated to see if we have a quilt out of them or not. May have to make more that will work with it. I will wait and see. Might be able to use them in Jeremy's quilts. That's for another day. Colleen stayed till about 5:30 and left. I hung around because I needed to get the quilts for QOV. I didn't have to wait on any quilts that were entered. I helped for about an hour and a half to get the quilts all folded. People were that at waiting to get in for their quilts. They were running behind, but we go them folded before I left. I told Kathleen if I didn't have to deliver Bill's quilt I would have stayed. Bill Jones won the raffle quilt, and he wanted mom to get it for him. They told him I was there, and I could get it to him. So, when I left with all my stuff, I had to drive back over to give Bill his quilt. He's 2 doors down from mom. I met his son who was there. They called it an early night because Georgia has surgery tomorrow. Mom told me it was Tuesday, and their son said it was, but was able to get in tomorrow.  Felt bad about ringing the doorbell when I heard that. Their son seems nice.

Came home and put everything away that I could for now. I will do the rest tomorrow. I'm beat! Working the fair can ware you out! And I was only there about 4 hours. UGH

I wasn't even close to Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Fun Day For A Change

Patrick left early to go to his golf tournament. Nothing special, but he does it each year for the local Elk's.

I enjoyed having the morning to myself. I actually decided to get some work done. First things first, I needed to finish the quilt for the Gala.

After it was done, I realized I should have made the border a little lighter in color. The dark red doesn't help it like a lighter color would. I will give this to the church to work on for the Gala.

Then I found all the 4.5" squares mom had cut. Of course, she was asking for them back.

This is only part of what I took to her. I had a stack of reds as well. She was working on a quilt as well. It's okay, but not something I would have done. Or I would have changed the colors a little. She's close to having it done, so that would make 3 tops she has completed. I brought one home today.

I decided to go through that stack and see if there were a lot of one or two colors to work with. I found some and put them together. I was able to get about 10 blocks done of each.

A lot of those colors were used in some of the other quilts that we completed. I just wish I had seen them before mom started mixing and matching them up with "scraps." We could have had a lot of coordinated 9 patches instead of the mixed-up stuff.

I kept some more that could be worked together. I'm hoping to get more blocks out of them then I did with this stack. I have some at the fair that I will need to work on as well.

Patrick came home. It was about an hour before we had to leave to pick mom up. I loaded the car with her stuff and some of Nancy's. Once that was done, we were ready to go.

Arrived at moms and "dumped" all the blocks back on her. Then we headed down to Longview to meet up with my brother and sister-in-law. We had supper at Red Lobster. It was a really good visit and went well. Mom enjoyed herself too, I think. She brought some food back and so did Patrick.

Dropped mom off and brought back a quilt top, quilt and some thread. Not sure about why I got the thread.

Sat and watched TV for a bit and now it's time to call it a day. I'm just happy I was able to be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Friday Shopping

This morning, we needed to leave by 8:45 am. We had to be in Olympia for my breathing tests. The traffic was pretty good. Since I wasn't seeing the doctor after, we decided to go to Cabela's since Patrick's next appointment wasn't till 2 pm.

We got a shirt for me at Cabela's, but I was looking for a jacket. No such luck. Mine is coming apart. Then we stopped at Costco that was up in that area. It's so much different from the one we usually go to. They had a lot more stuff. We really didn't need much and couldn't being anything cold home. So, we looked around a picked up a couple things. Then we went across the way to the Lazy Boy shop. We actually bought 2 chairs. They will be delivered to us. We have to wait, because they didn't have 2 of the same chairs. It's lighter than I would like but it will go with the furniture, I'm sure. It will even lighten the house up a bit. I was surprised Patrick decided on it that fast. It's more comfortable and I can sit in it. My feet come up, but that's because it's a rocker too. He didn't want any electrical parts to the chair. So, no hook ups for plugging anything in. I would have liked that but went with just a plain chair. This one has the bar to pull which is better than what we have which you have to push your legs down to get it to go down.

After that, we headed back. I told Patrick to take the Martin Way exit and he did, but when left instead of right. I was so ticked because he kept telling me he knew where to go. I told him he was going the wrong way. So, instead of turning around, he went the long way around the block. He ended up going to Pacific Ave and then to Lilly Rd. I was so pissed at him! He was almost late to his appointment being stubborn. I gave him shit!! So, when we left, I had him go back to where we came off the freeway to show him it was only a mile or so down the road. I fessed up that he was wrong and apologized. Then he said, "let's let it go now."  Okay, I can do that. Now that I proved him wrong!

We got back home, and I just crashed. I was playing my games and falling asleep. So, I took a nap and felt better.

Tomorrow we are taking mom down to Red Lobster and meeting up with my brother. Should be interesting. I need to take some material for her.

As much as I would love to say I went downstairs to sew or I pulled out my beading or even better yet, worked on my cross stitching. I CAN'T. I didn't do squat today. Not even taking time for Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Spent The Morning At The Fair

This morning, Patrick went golfing and I left early for gas and a Starbucks drink. Then headed to the fairgrounds.

I arrived at the fairgrounds early. I decided to pay the $6 to get in. I have a couple tickets away I shouldn't have and decided to just pay the $6. Nancy was just in front of me when I got there. We were early compared to everyone else. It was nice, as we had plenty of time to get ready. I pulled out my feather weight sewing machine to work on some 9-patches.

Nancy did the ironing, and I sewed the blocks. I think I got about 6 full blocks done. First, I had trouble with the tension, so worked on that. Even Kathleen came to help me. It took a bit, but we got it done. Then about the time Tim and Debbie showed up for the next section, the machine died. I couldn't get the foot petal to work. I may have to look for another one that will work. Chuck said he would look it over and see what he could do for me. Hopefully it's an easy fix.

I picked up 2 pretzels on the way home. Patrick didn't want to do Panda, so we didn't. I feel bad about not going, but I'm hoping with all the advertising we did at the fair, we got a good amount of money. My little bit wouldn't matter that much.

Came home and entered the 3 veterans that signed up. One was from FL, so we won't get that one. It will be interesting as to how many of them come back from the fair. Val marked the with an "F" so we can see how many we get back. We gave out a lot. I forgot to give out the flyer for Panda.

Once I had that done, I pulled out my WILTZIUS family papers and sent them to Nate. Then I got busy on some pages I found while looking through the files. I started adding the information on the family from that. Then it was National News, so I called it done then.

When I sat down, I pulled out my tablet and decided to play my games. I am getting caught up.

I wish I had taken a photo of what I was doing. I decided to use all the same fabric and put 9-patches together, so that it runs together better.

Debbie called to say she talked to the guy we gave a quilt to that is from Chehalis Tribe. We will work with him on getting the tribe involved. She then told me the gals there came and got the blocks I was working on and started putting them together. I'm happy they did. We should get more done faster that way. lol

After a day I had, I'm just glad it was easy to be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Painted towels someone made for the fair.

Fair Day For Me

This morning, Patrick had a few things to do, so I played for a bit before I had to head out to the fair.

I left a little early to go to Safeway for something to eat later. Then I headed to the fair and was early. Chatted with Kathleen and waited for Geralyn and Sandy to show. I visited with mom and Georgie as well. They were manning the QOV booth. OMG those two are driving me crazy! They came up with a new pattern and talked about how to do it. The 9 patches are just going to be mixed up. I don't know what to think of their ideas. But I'm going along with it.

We were there for demos. We demo'd Brazilian Embroidery and had a lot of people interested in joining us! I'm happy about that. We need more people to keep going. It was 2-6 pm and made for a long day. I had a gal come to the booth when it was time to close up. So, we worked on a demo for her. Then Sandy and I walked the fair. It was busy today! I haven't seen that fair that busy in YEARS! This one must have got the interest of the people. Cost is only $6 and each day is half price for different groups. Today was for seniors, but there were more than seniors showing up.

 Connie Taylor got Champion Reserve.

Geralyn got Grand Champion. This is a beautiful quilt!

I checked out the Grange building and the quilts we loaned them. This is awesome! Pictures of their veterans! I liked how it came out!

We even checked out the children's art work. That is always fun! Good job!

So, today working on demos kept me Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Physical Therapy And Lazy

What to do, what to do!! I will talk about that in a bit.

I was woken up by the ponding of nails going into the roof. Patrick had the roof redone today on the garage. They arrived around 5 am to get started and it was nice they didn't start making a ton of noise till 7:30 am. I got up and was waiting on Val.

Val stopped a few minutes before I had to leave for physical therapy. She picked up the museum's information and the travel iron I forgot to take to the fair. She was all set.

I left shortly after. I had to get to physical therapy and was happy to see the pain in my ankle is going away. She worked it pretty hard today and it wasn't as painful as it was in the past couple weeks.

Then I headed home by the way of Dutch Brothers for iced drinks. I got Patrick a peach iced tea and my usual iced chai tea. Then I went and got the car washed.

Headed home. Patrick and I watched a show on TV. I decided to try and get some stitching done.

As much as I would love to lie and say I got over 500 stitches done, I'm lucky if I got 100 stitches done. But then every little bit helps.

I have stuff ready for the demo's tomorrow for Brazilian Embroidery. Val called to let me know mom didn't show up for her post. So I had to call and remind her - an hour later - that she was do at the fair. Then I worked on letting her know she is working at the fair tomorrow morning. Georgie and her really know how to get confused on stuff. I drives me crazy. So, I had to get them straight on going in the morning tomorrow and not in the afternoon since that is full. I pretty much want to pull my hair out, but then I don't have enough hair as it is right now.

Debbie stopped by for her tickets to the fair. We chatted for a good hour if not more. My phone went off the whole time I was with Debbie, so Patrick came down to tell me my phone was driving him crazy. It was mom and Kathleen Ament. I called them both back. UGH This is the point where I am scattered because of keeping everyone on task. Mom keeps getting her days messed up. Georgie does the same. I have to make sure everyone knows when they are working at the fair. Then I have to figure out when I will go back and get all the stuff I took to the fair. That is usually Sunday night. OR Monday morning. I will wait and see which day I will be able to go.

What to do, what to do! Do I work on my cross stitching, do I finish up the quilt top, do I wait till the 10 tops that are coming in get here? What to do, What to do! I need to get started on the ornaments for this year. I need to get the gift card to Colleen for Carol. I need to........I need to.......I need to.......  Then I sit in my chair and play games, because it's easier to get lost in a game then it is to figure out what I NEED to do.

It turned 103* today. It's so hot, I don't WANT to do anything! With all the stuff going on, it's really not like Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

It's Monday All Over Again

Patrick went golfing and I went to BE. First I had to stop at Phil's then head over to Colleen's to drop off some boxes and a couple of quilt tops to be quilted. I arrived just as she was pulling into her driveway. We chatted a while and then I headed off to McD's for iced tea.

Arrived to find a semi truck unloading and reloading a huge farm equipment.

Geralyn was there before me, but it was good to see her. She was working on her other quilt - the one I thought was in the fair. She was quilting and I was beading. I need to get some ornaments done for this year, so I'm going to get moving on that.

I got it half way done. I am close to the V shape area on the bottom. This set is for Phil, as he didn't get one a couple years ago. I will work on the newer ones, once this gets done. Geralyn and I sat and talked the whole time. We got some stuff to divide between ourselves from the Seminar that both Sandy's went to. Geralyn got the bag that we all have, so that was fun to give it to her. She's one of us now. lol

Came home and played my games. I did get a few things together for when Val comes tomorrow morning. She's going to the fair first.

I put the quilt that Colleen gave me in the room. I will label it later and take it to the museum. I entered more veterans for getting quilts but need to do 3 more.

When I got home, 2 tops come in the mail. They are really pretty.

They will be going to the quilters as well. I will cut the batting and backing for them this week.

Plus I know there is one that mom finished and needs a border to.

At least today was so much fun while we were Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Casino AND Sewing

We left for the casino around 10 am. It was a fun day. We played for a while, but not as long as we were hoping. We left around 2 pm. We won some money and put it back in the games. I did get the plastic carrying case that was given out. It's big for a trip to the beach. The nice part about it, is that it's big enough for my quilts and even groceries. Heavy duty. So, it was a good pickup.

Came home and I needed to get the other top done for tomorrow. I worked on the border for moms quilt. They are a little bigger than we call for but not a lot bigger.

This is the quilt mom was working on. I added the blue border. It will be dropped off tomorrow before heading to BE. It turned out pretty good. I hope more tops come in. Seven of our quilts will be at the fair. Should be interesting. I think I will have Alice pick up some flyers on Tuesday to take to the grange building as well.

After that, I decided to just relax. I didn't want to push it with my foot. I do want to finish the quilt on the floor and get that to the church soon. This week is going to be very busy. I really am not looking forward to it. Too much going on. I have to go to the fair at least 3 times if not more. Plus, we have our fundraiser at Panda on Thursday.
We need as many people there as can be for fundraising. lol

Time will tell, but at least today I was Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Trip To Shipwrecked Beads - Olympia

Actually, I think Shipwrecked is in Lacey, not Olympia.

I was up and out the door by a quarter to 9. I was heading to Sandy's. It was so good to see her again, and we planned this trip in May but never made it. Today we finally did!

Stopped to get drinks and Sandy gave me "shit" for putting a straw in her coffee. She was laughing so hard it was comical! Funny part is that I use a straw with my drinks from DBs. lol

I was hooked! I found most of what I was looking for but was disappointed the shelves were pretty much empty. There wasn't a lot of one thing. I hate it when "out of stock" shows in the area where I wanted to buy what I needed. I went up there for a couple things and both of what I needed was "out of stock." When you walk into the store, it looks packed. Till you wonder around and find it 2/3's empty in places.

Of course I had a lot to buy! This was one of the few isles that were pretty full. I spent a LOT of money, but we usually only go about once a year. So, this was my big buy. This is what I needed for my ornaments that I need to get moving on.

Got back and had to run to the museum for 2 quilts. Alice called to say the Veterans booth at the fair didn't have any quilts or red, white or blue stuff. She wanted to borrow a couple quilts. I will get them to her on Monday. I have to get some stuff to Val for Tuesday. Next week, will be busy, busy, busy!

Came home and went to work on one of the quilt tops. I had to add a border to 2 of them and finish mine. So, I pulled out mom and Val's quilt to add the blue border. Now it's ready for Colleen to quilt. I will drop it off on Monday.

Then I took the rest of the night off and played plundering games. I had a blast. So, now I'm calling it a night and will probably sleep like the dead. lol But at least today I was Happy Quilting/Happy Stitcing!

Was Busier Than Planned To Be

Yep, back to having my plans messed with. I know better - and yet, I still try and plan things.

I had physical therapy which took an hour. I got his business card to give to Carmen since she wanted his number. I then stopped at Nancy's think it would be a drop off and go. Yeah, NO! Debbie called asking where I was. Told her I was with Nancy. So, she said she would be there in a few minutes to drop off candy for the fair. She arrived, we chatted and then I had to figure out how to get it to the fair. DANG! Mom was going on Tuesday. SO, I stopped by to drop off the candy. Yeah, that didn't work. Mom wanted me to help her with another quilt top. So, I had to go out to the car and turn it off. So much for a quick stop. We worked on the half square triangles she has. Then she said she needed the triangles back that I have.  Told her I would get them to her. Not today.

I then left to go to Panda for lunch. I decided I wanted their food. They told me I would have to wait for the chicken, about 5 mins. I said, no don't want to wait. Then the other chicken would be 2 min wait. Fine! By the time they got to it, both were ready, and I didn't really get what I wanted. Came home around 1 pm and sat to have my lunch. There is left over, which is fine with me.

I was so tired by then; I took a nap for an hour. They played on my tablet. Didn't get anything done. Sandy texted to see if I wanted to go to the bead store tomorrow in Lacey. I told her sure. We will be going in the morning. So, the afternoon I should be good. I had a game in the morning and another one around 1 pm which looks like I might not make it. UGH. We will see.

Mom called to say she finished this quilt. So, there is another one I need to put the border on. At this rate, that's all I will be doing for a while. I need to get down there and put the borders on so they can be delivered on Monday. If not, it will be another week before I get them to Colleen. If mom keeps going, I may have 5 to deliver.

So, my plan for today was go to my PT, get lunch at Panda, and come home. Then I could go downstairs and work on one of the borders. Yeah, right. Not one border was put on and I wasn't Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Judging At The Fair Gounds

I was out the door by 8:30 am to get to the fairgrounds. My judging time was 9 am. Rita was judging with me and we had to wait to get started. Deanna needed to do the running to get us going. We ended up starting late, I believe.

Deanna was running around getting the quilts and making sure we had everything we needed. Tables were set up for judging. Rita and I worked on over 70 quilts.

They stopped for lunch, then we got back to it. We didn't get done till 7 pm with all the quilt judging. I was thrilled to see that Geralyn got Grand Champion, and I thought she got the reserve as well, but that was actually Connie Taylor's quilt.

Once they were judged they were stacked up. I was disappointed this year. I had to give out so many red ribbons, I felt so bad about that. But honestly, they were not done well. I did give a white ribbon out and rarely do I do that.

Bindings this year were awful! I couldn't believe how badly the machine stitched bindings were! I was shocked at how badly the corners were done. Too bad David isn't around anymore, because he taught binding and the quilts were so much better for it. This time I think we got a lot of new quilters, and some of their stuff was beautiful, except for the bindings or they didn't square up their piece. So, there really wasn't much in the way of "great" quilts. Except for Geralyn's and Connie's.

I didn't make it home till 7:30 pm and my back and foot are KILLING me. I have PT tomorrow and I hope I can walk on my leg! UGH.

I don't think what I did today counts towards Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

A Good Day At The Casino

This morning, Patrick had an appointment with physical therapy. I tagged along so we could leave right after. I stayed with mom while he was gone for an hour.

I showed mom the mistake in the quilt top, and she sewed it up. Then gave it to me for me to put the border on.

I didn't get a photo but will when I get the border on it. One more top done. I have 2 quilt tops to add the border and finish the one on my floor. It feels good to have 3 quilts right there. But one is for the museum, so not so much. At least that's 2 more quilts. Mom started on another one with 9-patches. She's going to put a print square the size of the 9-patches, to get done. That will go fast. That one is in reds. She wants to do another in blues. If she does that, it will be 2 more quilt tops. I'm happy with that.

Tomorrow is my judging day at the fair. I will take my sewing machine and cut squares for everyone to work on and get another top or 2 done. I hope they work on them. It will be a wait and see thing. If they do, we will be sitting pretty. I was pinning the blocks together when Patrick came in.

We then headed to the Lucky Eagle casino, which we do. Since the fair is next week, we may not make it to the casino on Wednesday as I am working the afternoon. But at least we had fun today. We started out with $200 and ended up coming home with a LOT more than that. We won a couple $700. Then we won more as we played more. This time we were smart and came home with a lot more money than we had. Makes up for the losses we had the last couple weeks.

Came home and Patrick took a nap. I played my games. Worked on some exercises and now ready to call it a night. At least at moms I could be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Early Physical Therapy And A Visit With Mom

I had to be at the physical therapists by 9 am today.  Patrick headed to go golfing and I was busy with getting up and getting ready. I arrived a little early. So, was messing with my phone. When I went in, he put me to my limits. Not fun but needed. We decided for me to stop wearing the brace for a week to see if the brace is part of the problem of not healing very fast. When I came out of the visit, mom was standing there. She wanted to make sure they got the message she couldn't come this afternoon. Not sure why, because she called me in the afternoon and she was working on the quilt.

We went to our cars and then drove to moms. I visited for a bit. Of course, she had some stuff for me to take. I picked up the tablecloth that she told me yesterday she gave to me. Now I have to figure out how to get it to the fair. Chances are it will be when I'm judging. I left and headed to get a drink.

I stopped and vacuumed the car. Then got my drink, since it's across the street. Once that was done, I headed to the museum to pick up 2 quilts and give Tim his tickets for the second day he would work. As I was thinking of the days I can't work it - Tuesday and Friday, I realized those where the days I was needed. So, it's going to be a wait and see. I need to let Debbie know and see if she will work it too. I may have to work the Sunday, just to get everything back home.

Came home and picked blueberries.

So, as I was picking the berries, I found a surprise.

Guess my blueberries didn't agree with the deer in the yard. Shame too, because that's a good number of blueberries I would have liked to have. Let's hope they don't help themselves to more!

While I was picking my berries, mom called and said she was having trouble with the quilt top. She did something wrong and couldn't figure out what it was.

She sent me this photo on text and asked where it was. I told her it was on the left side. It's wrong. She understood, but I think she was still having trouble with it, because she said she would wait till I see her tomorrow to figure it out. Oh, what fun!

I picked about 6 cups of berries. Going to wait another week and pick the rest. There are at least 8 more cuts to pick. Patrick has been eating them at breakfast, just like Phil has. I will be dropping off half of what I picked tomorrow.

Came in the house and played my games. Wasn't in the mood to do anything. I'm getting overwhelmed with everything going on. I was thinking of working on the quilt downstairs. Since Val dropped of a top, I want to put a small border on it, and I have my quilt that needs to be done. Then I need to put a border on mom's quilt. That will give us 3 quilts, but I just can't get myself there yet. It's driving me crazy because I know I have those quilts to do, but I can't get my butt in gear and do them. Maybe this weekend since the rest of the week is full. I have too much going on. And the fair is next week. Lord help me! At this point, I am waiting to feel like I can do this! It's all about Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Embroidery Day

Note: I did do my blog yesterday and it was long - but I see it's not posted. So, I'm betting my computer didn't accept it and it wasn't posted. I'm sorry about that. I can't remember what I posted! Let alone what I did yesterday. UGH

Today I was ready for embroidery. I was planning on working on my beading, but yet again, I forgot the wire to work with. So, I ended up doing embroidery after all.

I worked the leaves there off the nest. I did it backwards, so I took it out and redid it.

The trouble with that was, it didn't work the way I wanted to. Looking at the phots I like the first one better. I may yet take it out again. Who knows. I did work in another area, just didn't get a photo.

Mom texted before I left this morning, asking me to come by and place the blocks where they needed to be. After all these years, you would think she would know how to place the 9 patch blocks. So, after embroidering, I headed over.

As you can see, the two blocks in the corner she started pinning together, so they didn't stay there long. She pinned the first 2 rows. Then she told me she was doing red 9 patches, and when she's done, I need to go over and "help" her place those. I told her it wouldn't be till next week. Then remembered next week is the fair and we are all working it. I think she wanted me to stay and help sew this up. She used to kick this stuff out quicker than "snot" but now she seems to need help. Go figure. She was telling me she got half the blocks done yesterday and the other half the day before. She was surprised at how fast it goes. (That's why I told her to do them; it will get quilts a lot faster!)

We will have a sewing machine there to work on while we are manning the booth. That way we can get a top or 2 done. It should work out great. If I can get rid of all these 4.5" blocks, it will make my day!

Came home and called it done. I wanted to check on my game. Now that we moved from one kingdom to another, I should be able to enjoy the game more. Hard to say. I am making more friends in the game, and I haven't talked to friends in a while.

It's been a long day, and this week is going to be longer. I have judging on Thursday, Patrick wants to go to the casino on Wednesday, and I have something I can't think of right now on Friday. Plus, tomorrow is physical therapy. I am going to tell him I have been without my brace a couple days, and it seems to be helping me. Not sure why. I'm just glad I was able to get a little done while I was Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

More Than Busy Today

Got up and played for a bit. Then I was doing my exercises, when Bryan called. We must have been on the phone for 3 hours working on the TRUE family. He had information I did not know. I also went to find the Indian War journal that our great grandfather wrote. I sent him a copy but that was yesterday. So, I read the letter to my mother. Then I found a family tree on our great great grandfather. I will have to double check the information because I know I don't have it all in the program. I wanted to do that today, but I had to do a few other things.

Then I had to get the kitchen cleaned up. Dishwasher needed unloaded and re-loaded. Then I had to clean up Patrick's mess with his Scotch-a-Roo's.

I called Donna to see if she was at the museum and if she would be willing to set up veterans to receive a quilt. She said she would, so I had to drive over to the museum and explain everything to her. She was happy to do it. The funny part was, I got a phone call about five times today. She's already got September veterans lined up. We have 7 now. I think she's waiting on one or two more to call her back. Told her she can do 6 for October. I explained that she will have to call them a day or two before to remind them. I hope it works out and we don't get more veterans than quilts. lol

Came back home and worked on the QOV members list. I have to mail that out at the end of the month. Then I worked on the water system stuff. I had to send postage to a couple of QOV members. So, I pretty much was in the computer room most of the day. Then around 5 pm, the internet went down. It was lagging. So, we waited. Patrick got on his app and they were working on it. We couldn't watch Netflix because it wasn't working. - Till I came in her to do my blog - and it's working now.

Since the internet was down, I pulled out my cross stitch to work on.

I was able to work on my cross stitch. I got about 200 stitches done today. I'm happy with that. I would have liked to have done more today, but it just wasn't meant to be.

So, after all that, I can say I was able to be comfortable with Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

From One Thing To Another

We were both up early this morning. He went golfing and I headed to my physical therapy appointment.

First things first, I had to stop at Phil's to drop off Kale for him. Then I headed to moms to get her referral for physical therapy. Once I grabbed that, I went to my appointment. We are still trying to figure out why I'm so sore and it's really not letting up. We walked around the building so I could tell him where it hurts. Then we came back in and worked on my foot/leg. I'm as baffled as he is.

After the appointment went to moms. There were 7 quilters there. I didn't have a place to sit. It was weird how everyone wanted to talk to me. Nancy chatted about what was going on, and so did Carmen. We had a good "medical" chat. When I was done there, Georgie wanted to talk to me about her blocks and what she's doing for QOV. Then I met up with Carmen again in the kitchen and chatted. We put the pizza in the over. After she left, I set the table and got everything ready. Mom didn't see me do that, so she was getting worried that it didn't get done. About that time, I got a text from Carol that she needed to give me all the QOV stuff because she's going through surgery and having issues with Donna. So, it was time for her to pass the job to someone else. I need to check with Donna (QOV not Carol's Donna) and see if she can do it. I will call her tomorrow.

I left moms and headed Carol's to pick up the stuff. We sat and chatted for a while. She's getting hip surgery on the 6th. We talked about how Donna has been doing. Guess she's mad at Carol today because she was in her sewing room. I enjoyed our chat and told her I would be visiting her just to say hi. We can do coffee together or something.

Off to Winco. When I was checking out, the guy in front of me had an "over-ride" and when she was done with that, he was gone. She told me, "that comes to $34....." and I said, "that's my stuff there," pointing to the other side of the counter. So, the guy before we walked out without paying.

I then headed to the credit union and ended up waiting 10 minutes in line. I had to move some money to my "paypal" account, since I was using it up. Then I needed a drink!

Off to the car wash and Dutch Brothers for iced tea. The car stopped in the wash, and I was almost ready to call Patrick to tell him when it started back up again. It felt good to get the iced tea. Next stop was the post office, which was another long wait. Every place I went today, I had to stop and wait. Good thing I wasn't impatient or in a hurry. I dropped the blueberries I got from Penny off at Phil's and told him not to tell his dad. lol

Came home and went over everything with Patrick. I was still in the "go-go-go" mood, and he had to tell me to stop and sit down and take a break. I wanted to get something done today. I did, but not what I wanted to get done. I didn't work on anything at moms. I didn't do anything when I got home. I sat and played my game. I was trying to move my castle to another kingdom, but it looks like I was booted with at least 2 of them so far. Oh, well.

Now I'm beat! Running around with my head cut off didn't help. OH! Mom gave me the quilt we did together. She wants me to mark the border so she could quilt it. Of all the ..........! I have the quilt. She keeps giving me one thing after another to do! I am worn out with all the stuff she's given me and expecting me to do! UGH!!

So, today was not my best day. Even though I tried, it wasn't meant to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Dentist And Another Trip To Olympia UGH

Patrick was out the door before I was up. He went golfing again. I slept for another 30 mins, then got up. I realized I needed to get a few...
