A Good Day With Sandy

This morning I fixed a few things with getting my emails out. Then Sandy came over and we worked on beads.

I was showing her how to do peyote beading. She had some delica beads that are 8 mm. I was amazed at how nice it was coming out. I enjoyed working with her and getting her started on her beading. She order some beads as well. I have my order for Fire Mountain but won't be doing the order till after I get Sharon's order. So tomorrow I'll place the order. I need to take my laptop with me tomorrow.

She got this much done. I love the way this came out.

After Sandy left I worked on laundry and my beading. I was able to get a few more rows in on my beads.

I can now see the blue bird. I'm starting on the second bird - you can see it coming up. It's the light blue on the right side. I'll probably get a few more rows in this evening while Patrick is at his meeting.

So I didn't get any quilting in today but I was Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Enjoyed The Day With Mom

This morning I was up and out the door. I told mom I would come over today.

I got to moms at 10 am. She was working on some quilt stuff in the quilt room. I gave her some reds for more stars. She has been appliqueing stars on blocks. It's amazing how many stars she's made. She gave 20 6" stars blocks to Susy. I told her they were supposed to go to Sue. She said no worries she will give her the next ones. I believe she will have them done by next week!

We then went to the living room and watched "Vera" on Acorn TV. We watched 3 episodes. While we were watching TV we were quilting.

I got 1 1/2 borders done! I couldn't believe how much I got done. I'm going to add more quilting to it after I get all the way around. I only have about 30" to finish all the way around. Then I'll go back and add a little more before binding it. I'm just thrilled at how much I got done.

Came home around 3 pm and then got supper going before we had to go bowling. We won 3 games. Patrick did pretty good. Me, not so much. I bowled a 159, 180, 145. Barbara who is as good a bowler as I am beat me by 7 pins. We laughed about that.

So, things were good. I was Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

More Visits Than Anything

This morning I got going with laundry. I worked on a few QOV paperwork. I had to make a couple calls to get batting and backing figured out for us.

While I was working on the laundry and getting calls done, Faye came to pick up the quilt top I had to get quilted. She was going to Olympia. She didn't pick up my quilt because I will be going up there on Friday. We talked about what was going on. I told her what I found out yesterday and we worked out what we will do. She told me she will be taking a break here in April or May because of her husband's health. I told her to do what she needed because family comes first. I pray he will do okay with the treatment he will be going through.

Then about 5 mins after she left, my neighbor came by and we chatted. She dropped off her water money. We talked about the neighbor who is selling their house.

After all that, I tried to get more done. So, I decided enough of keeping my brain going 100% for QOV. Which got me to sit and quilt. I quilted on Katt's quilt. I'm happy to say I'm going around the 2nd borders corner. Sophie was in the way, so I didn't get any farther then the corner.

I forgot to do the dessert, so I made "Grasshopper Bars" for Patrick. They turned out pretty good.

I hadn't made them in a long time. It was good that they came out. Trouble that happened was that my beaters died. I had to throw it out. I loved those beaters!!

It was a day of Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

A Day Away From Home

Today I wasn't planning on leaving till around 2 pm but things changed.

I had to make a few phone calls. Sharon called to say the quilt was done and wanted to know when I would be able to pick it up. I told her I would try and do that on Friday. So, we set the day for Friday. I needed to get the backing for the quilt I have ready. Sharon told me that Bill won't be able to quilt in April for about 6 weeks. So, we won't be able to get anything quilted. I needed to find someone that could fill in for us. I called and left a message for Kathleen Amendt to see if she could help. She wasn't in.

Judy called me back from yesterday and said she had some backing for me but there wasn't much left. I talked to her about the batting and backing that our group needed to get. She told me she can't do both groups because she doesn't have the room and she can't store any of it. She asked me to come over and she would show me what she does to get the batting and backing done. It looks like I'm going to be doing that for our group as well. I need to get the batting and backing for our group. Being without it doesn't help. I called Rita and talked to her. She doesn't have room in her car to bring back the batting from Shanks. So, I'm going to have to work it out with her to drive my van down there and bring back the batting. I'm going to see how much it will cost to have it mailed to us and that MIGHT help. If not, will have to go down with her and get the backing and batting and not get the sale price. It will be something I want to talk to Faye about.

Went to Judy's to find out how she does the batting and backing. The batting she does on the floor to make it easier to cut and get ready. I watched her and that is the easiest way of doing it because the batting is in rolls of 30 yards. We sat down and went over how much we had and what we would need to carry us over for the next 6 months. I think I've got it down and we can figure all that out after I chat with Faye.

Then I went over to moms so I could go to another Judy's house to check our her sewing machine. It wasn't a sewing machine that I was looking for. It had all the different designs and was pretty much like mine when it came to the features. So, it really wasn't an upgrade for me. I'll just have to keep looking.

We got back home around 4 pm. I got supper done and then spend a little time working on the second cat in beading.

This is what I ended up with after I took out......

This one. You can see my mistake. I ended up taking out 4 rows and putting them back in.

Tomorrow I really, really need to work on Katt's quilt. So, I'm going to try and get as much as I can done on the border tomorrow.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day of being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

A Day Of Sewing

This morning I woke to find Patrick on the couch....guess I must of snored again. This weather has my noise going. Hate allergies.

I wanted to get the quilt top done for QOV. I'm happy to say I did a pretty good job. I was getting frustrated when putting the last border on.

I finally got it on there. I took a dark blue for the outer area. Can't see it from the photo...guess Patrick folded them so you can't see it. It frames the quilt top. I'm happy to say mom's star worked out great on this one. I still have a ton of 9 patches to work with. I may give them to Sue to do something with. I just need to make them up. I didn't even get to sit and watch TV with Patrick today. Was downstairs all day.

I'm going to order a couple panels to do. I'm going to work on teaching myself to figure out how to do the borders. Once I have that done, then the panels will be great and easier to do. We can do a presentation with just panels that way. We found that most veterans like the panels better then they like the quilts we do. Go figure.

Then it was time to go bowling. I bowled a 174, 157, 191. Not as good as I could have. At least my average didn't go down - didn't go up either but that's okay by me. We won 3 games. Actually lost that last game by 4 pins.

All in all today was a day to be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!!

Quilts Of Valor Presentation Day

This morning I was up and getting a few things done before heading to the Veteran's Memorial Museum in Chehalis. Our group - Veteran's Memorial Museum QOV - had a presentation today. We were presenting 6 quilts to veterans. We had over 55 people attend. It was awesome! We had 2 WWII veterans - one turned 100 and she was a nurse. The other is in his 90's. He was a kick. It was hard trying to get him to come because he thought Faye was a telemarketer. She finally was able to tell him he was getting a quilt and it didn't cost him a thing. After talking to his daughter they decided it was real. The family attended and the son brought his service photo along.

I got home around 1 pm. I enjoyed working and chatting with everyone. Jim had Chip give us some names and phone numbers of other members that he wants presented with a quilt. He won't accept a quilt unless they get quilts first. So, I'm working on getting his request done.

I worked a little on the cross stitching.

I got more done in the left side. I didn't get to work much on it. Katt called and she bought a Jeep. So we chatted about her new car. She's wanted a Jeep for a long time. She also coming home in two weeks, so I really need to get back to the quilt. I'm planning on doing that tomorrow.

Mom came over and we went down to Longview for dinner. We had a good time. Then when we got back she left. She didn't want to drive in the dark, so she didn't stay.

I sat and worked on the cross stitch some more. I don't have much done, but I'm working on it. I figure every little bit helps.

So now this week I've got to work on the black and white quilt and get back to finishing a top for QOV. I also want to cut some more for another kit. It should be easy getting these kits done so when I'm ready to sew, I can sew them up! lol - But they are for others that want to do kits.

All's good with being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!!

Hello Friday

This morning I was out the door at 10 am to meet up with Ruth. We had brunch at Denny's in town. It was an awesome visit with her. We were there over an hour chatting. Got caught up on what we both have been up to.

Came back home and went downstairs to heat up the room. I waited awhile before going down. Got laundry in and then went down. I was looking for the pattern I was going to do for another quilt. I wanted to do a strip quilt top. Well......I couldn't find that pattern. I had it on the table, but guess what....yep, it wasn't there. No clue what I did with it. So I went on the computer to try and find it...think that worked?!....NOPE. It was just a little too cold down there so gave up.  I have an idea of how to do it, so will work on it myself.

Then I came up to work on my beading. I figured I needed to get the Blue Birds done before the other. Even though I really want to do the cats. If I can do one and then the other, that will help.

I was able to add 3 more rows this time. I'm happy to say it's finally coming along. I can see the blue bird now. There is another one coming to the left of it. I'm not crazy about this but I am starting to like it a little.

Patrick called and wanted to go to the movies. So we went to "Train Your Dragon" and I loved it. It was really good with graphics and just a good movie. I need to see it again to see what all I missed.

Sophie took over my chair. Think she thinks if she keeps it warm I'll come back and sit with her.

Then came home and put on the 2 of 3 rows on the bird. I had to fix a row before I could work on it. I figured out what I did wrong the last time. One thing leads to another. I got it fixed and now I can keep going.

I'm still working on being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Away From Home Today

This morning I needed to get up and moving. I was to meet mom at her place today at 10 am.

I left to get to Walmart for pictures for our QOV scrapbook. I thought I was early enough, but oh NO! There was a young couple taking up both of the machines that do "prints now." So, I waited. They knew I was there, but they were fussing with their phones trying to figure out why it wasn't working. Then after 20 mins the husband left, giving his wife a kiss and thanked her for doing the pictures. She then hooked her phone up to the machine. I went to the machine he was on. Did it work - heck NO! I couldn't get it to work. So I was back to waiting on the wife.....and waiting. She must of had over 200 photos in her phone and was taking her dear sweat time picking her photos. A half hour later she's still on the machine. I went to the 1-hour area and asked if my photos will be printed quickly because I was already behind.....she said, "Probably, there isn't anything being printed right now." Okay, I went to the 1-hour machine to get the photos I needed - a total of 14 - and the gal was STILL picking photos. I printed my receipt and went into the 1-hour area......They were printing a LARGE photo. I showed her my ticket and was told, "It will be about 15 mins." Oh, HE.... NO! I told her I would come back later in the day to get them since I'm in a hurry......after 45 mins of waiting I wasn't about to wait another 15 mins.

Arrived at moms and walked to the Gathering Place to meet up with her. I had her leave her quilt group so we could get moving up to Olympia. She had a couple cards of Starbucks money and wanted to get some tea. We stopped off at Starbucks and I got us some tea off her card. I was going to manage her account but the one card was emptied on that trip. Called Sharon and told her we were on our way.

Arrived at Sharon's around 11:45 am. Dropped off the quilt top, batting and backing. Told them to call me when it's done and I'll pick it up. I want to have another quilt to take up there when I go. We will also make a trip to Shipwrecked beads for the beads that I need to finish the cat ornament. Sharon had the second cat almost done. She's about half a piece farther than I am. Bill wanted to show mom a few things and Sharon and I talked beads.

We then headed over to Costco - because that was what mom wanted to do. We spent a good hour and a half at Costco. Mom got all the stuff she needed except for the doggie bags. For the first time since I've been going to Costco, they didn't have any.

Arrived back at mom's. I have a letter that I need to mail tomorrow for her. I didn't do it on the way home because I had to go back to Walmart and get my photos.

Got home and started looking for my book on QOV stuff. I wanted to update my "diary" of QOV quilting. Took 10 mins but I finally found it. Mom gave me all the fabrics that she bought at Ruby Street's Quilt Works shop on Monday. It's for QOV. So, I took all that downstairs and put it with the piles of fabric I already have. I will spend tomorrow afternoon and this weekend working on QOV tops. I will try and get a couple more kits done. Then I need to get a list of what is in the kits so I can give them out to be worked on.

My sheet protectors arrived today, so I put my Snowman's Best Friends packet in the protectors. That was 160 pages of putting 2 to a protector. Now I have them all ready. I'm finding out it's going to cost me about $300 to do this piece. I may buy a little at a time. I have them all listed with Fire Mountain, but they don't have all the colors. I will probably do what they have and wait awhile before I order the rest. The rest is going to cost me about $100. UGH But it's worth it to me.

I did miss out on doing my beading or cross stitch. But I'm hoping to do that now. I didn't have much luck today the way it started out. I'm not a patient person. Apparently I was more patient then I thought I could be....I HATE waiting. I really wanted those photos. I'm more ticked that it cost me more going through 1-hour.

I took some slides that were from the Seattle Worlds Fair to be put on DVD. They cost $20 a piece. Patrick wasn't happy with me as I did 2 of them. I told him I wanted to get them done and would throw out the slides. He didn't like the idea that they were just of the Fair. Oh, well. I wanted to see them.

Not my best day but I can deal with it. I'm going to get to my cross stitching so I can be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Beading And Bowling

Today I actually slept in. I just couldn't get myself to get up. Patrick told me to just go back to sleep and I did.

When I did get up I was getting laundry going. Linda called to say she was early and would be here soon. She arrived and picked up the frame that she forgot on Monday. After she left, it wasn't 10 mins and Sharon's husband arrived. He dropped off the quilt top and I gave him the blocks from Georgie. Then I went back into the computer room and took care of some Gunderson Water Works papers. Once that was done I worked on the certificates for the veterans we are honoring on Saturday. I also got the two new veterans added to the list. I called 2 veterans to see if they could be at the April 3rd presentation.

When all that was done I sat down and worked on my beading. I wanted to get the second Siamese cat done.

There is a mistake in the second one, but it's not that obvious. Patrick took forever to figure it out, so I decided to leave it and not do another one to replace it. I then started working on cat #2. I got the top part done.

Then it was time to go bowling. We did the roll off. We were in the bottom 4. We actually won all 4 games. I bowled awesome! I finally got a 600 series after trying for the past 6 months! I bowled a 172, 225, 224. That gave me a 621. I was thrilled. I'm not sure if I went up on my average because my phone died just as I entered my scores. Never fails! I'm hoping!
7Today was at least a good day. I was Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

An Interesting Day

This morning I was up early. I had to go to the dentist at 10 am. So, while I was waiting to leave I worked on the laundry and my beading. I got a few more rows done before heading to the dentist.

Since I was having my "new teeth" put in I was a little nervous. It was weird I will say that much. When they were screwing in the teeth it reminded me of Patrick working on some of my projects. lol It was so funny!

After all that I was off to the museum to make sure they would be ready for us on Saturday. Then I had to stop at Safeway for milk.

Once I got back home I got back to laundry and worked on my beading again.

I also worked on it after supper while listening to the news. I work on this at the table. While I was working on this I ended up talking to Faye, mom, and Sharon. I also was texting Sue. Sue will drop off her top tomorrow and I'll give her more quilt blocks that Georgie did. I was surprised that I could keep working. I'm on row 47 now. There are about 67 rows, so I'm about 20 rows out. Then the second of the 2 cats will be done. I'll get started on cat #2 when this one is done. I'm really enjoying working on this. Patrick copied some new patterns for me. The one Sharon and I want to work on next was 250 pages long. There are 74 different colors as well. While I was chatting with Sharon we were talking about ordering the beads. We will do it together to get a better price. It's one of those things that the more you buy the cheaper they are. We'll see how that goes. I'll see her Thursday.

Last night I worked on the cross stitching.

I've gotten a few more stitches in. I need to get back to this as well. I was happy with the way it was going. Sophie wanted to go after my threads, so that slowed me down a little. I am happy with this. Truth is, I can't wait to finish this either!

Took this picture last night. Don't know why it shadowed. She was so funny! She didn't move much at all.

Life is great! Keeping up with being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!!

A Day With Friends And A Movie

This morning I was changing the table cloth and then vacuuming. I wanted to have things looking good for our meeting. Since Pat had her stroke, we are having the meetings at our house. We'll be meeting again in two weeks. Patrick was working in his garage and outside.

We all worked on our stuff. I worked on the rose. It's coming out okay. I think it needs some more work, but not sure if I want to do that. I'll have to read the instructions more to see what I need to do.

I'll get there. I do like the way Brazilian embroidery looks.

Then Patrick suggested we go to a movie this afternoon. So, we went. We saw "Isn't It Romantic." It was pretty good. After that we went to Papa Pete's for supper.

When we came home, I worked on the second cat in delica beads.

I started the ears and then called it quits. It took a lot to get the first 3 rows working. I kept making a mistake and having to pull the beads out. But I was able to get 8 rows done, so that's not bad.

I'm planning on sitting down and working on my cross stitch next. I just need to get off the computer and get away from my games. lol

I'm still Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!!

Back To QOV Quilt Top

This morning I was up and enjoying the morning. It's nice when I don't have any plans first thing in the morning. Seems like every Sunday now I'm still in my PJ's till around 10 or 11 am. I just like to feel comfortable I guess.

I got some bread going today. Then I went downstairs to work on another QOV quilt. Since we are about 15 quilts behind, I figured I better get back to working on quilt tops. I had the 9 patches that mom and I started. Then I took the stars mom made and tried to see if that would work.

I think it turned out pretty good. I needed a few more stars. Since I didn't have them I decided to do 4 blocks by 5 blocks. That way I can add borders. I found a few 2 1/2" squares that I could do the 9 patches for. I'll put them in the corners and add a strip or 2 with them. I haven't decided it I want to do them in the 4 corners or if I want to do another 9 patch in the middle of the border. May just keep it in the 4 corners. I have half of this put together by rows. I need to do 2 more rows and then sew them all up. I worked on the smaller 9 patches as well. I'll try and get it done this week and then I'll have another quilt to go to Bill. I need to call Judy to see if she has some backing and batting for me.

After all that I came back upstairs. I didn't get anything else done but I was wanting to get started on another beading cat.

After supper it was time to go bowling. I bowled okay. The other team wasn't there and neither was Bailey from our team. So, the 3 of us bowled. We didn't win any games. Patrick was bowling so good. He had a 458 series - worst he's had all season. I bowled a 178, 162, and 199. I tried to go for 2 in the split but it chopped it and I only got 1 to get me the 199. I really wanted that 200 game!

Life is good. Life goes on and I hope dad's watching when we bowl. I do miss him so. It's coming up on a year, and I'm really weepy about it. But I'm remembering him by doing the Quilts of Valor and giving to his brothers and sisters of the military. That keeps me Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!!

A Day To Organize

This morning started out slow.  Patrick enjoyed sleeping in. I decided to finish up working on my word charts for the cat ornaments.

It took a couple days but I finally finished them and added them to my binder. I am trying to keep all my patterns in binders. Now I am ready to work on the cats. When I go up to see Sharon, we will be going to Shipwrecked Beads.

I then went into the computer room to organize all of Gunderson Water. I needed to file away the year end stuff and get organized for 2019. Cleaned up a few things while I was at it.

Patrick and I then spent the afternoon watching a movie and some shows he had taped. I worked on Katt`s black and whote quilt.

Of course Sophie had to be a part of ghat as well.  If she wasn't chasing the thread she was napping so I couldn't move the quilt to quilt it. I did get 3/4's done on one side. So it's getting closer to being done.

Then it was time to go eat. Our plans didn't turn out but we still went out to eat. Then we picked mom and Irene up to go to the play at the Evergreen Playhouse in Centralia.  They both enjoyed it.

Mom gave me her stack of stars she appliqued for QOV quilts. I will see about putting them in a quilt.

We finally made it home at 10:30 pm. It was a day to be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!!

Friends And Then A Movie

This morning I was up and out the door before 8:30 am. I had to stop and get some tea. My next stop was Walmart - before everyone started shopping there.

I got to Walmart - and all the shelves were bare! I was looking for detangler for my hair. I must have looked for 10 mins! Then I turned around and there were 2 bottles all by themselves - go figure. I had to do the double take to make sure I was seeing things right. I was. So I grabbed the bottle and mom called. She wanted me to pick up milk for her. Told her I was in Walmart and would do that. Got to the milk and there wasn't any! At least not regular milk. There was Soymilk, Goat milk, 0% fat free milk, etc. I finally found a 2% milk that I picked up for her. Headed to her house.

I arrived at 9:20 am and 2 people were already there! They weren't supposed to be there till 9:30, but I know Bev hates to miss out on anything. So, Bev and Hildi were there. Go figure. I was hoping to get a few minutes with mom by that didn't happen till after everyone left.

I worked on the "word chart" for the second and third cat. I'm almost done with the word chart for the third cat. I was really happy with how much I was able to get done. Mom is done with Katt's quilt and is looking for a binding for it. I checked when I got home but I don't have that shade of green. I was helping mom out most of the time. Getting up for this and that. Her client showed up and ended up staying for a half hour. Mom had him in her quilt room working with him and giving him a couple checks.

Had trouble with the car, so took the long way home. Made it fine. Engine light is on, so Patrick called and made an appointment to get it in next week.

I worked a little more on the word chart. Then it was time to leave for the movie. We say "Alita" which was really good. A few things had my stomach jumpy - like looking down the buildings - but other than that, it was a great movie. Hated the ending - actually it really didn't end - have to wait for the next movie to find out what happens. Had a feeling that's what was going to happen. Hate movies that do that!! I would have loved to have seen the end and not have to wait a year for the next one. By then I will have forgotten what actually happened.

My Sophie missed me. She let me know when I got home that she wanted attention. She hates it when I leave for the day. I was with her for the past 2 weeks, so today was a first in a long time.

I finally got the photos of our presentation that was on the 6th. Good photos!

This was one of my quilts that was given away. I hope he liked the quilt.

I can't say I was stitching or quilting but I was working on something that could become stitching. That's called Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!!

One Day At A Time

This morning I was woken by Art wishing me a Happy Valentine's Day. We chatted for quiet a while and it was nice to hear from him again.

Then I was up and moving. I got the laundry (white clothes) done finally. I hate folding white clothes and it's been in the dryer a day because I was not looking forward to it. So, I finally ran the dryer to take the wrinkles out and finally folded and put them all away.

I decided I wanted to do beading today. I took the row out of the seed beads that was done wrong. It didn't come out and I tried 3 times yesterday to get it right. It bugged me - even in my sleep - so I took the row out. Then I went to work on my cat piece.

The quarter shows how small it is. I really like this! I have one more to do and then I will start on the other two cats. I need to do the word chart on the other 2 before I can work on them. May do that tomorrow at moms. I have quilting at moms tomorrow and that will give me a good excuse to do that.

I spend most of the afternoon working on that. I also had 10 calls from "ATT" telling me that in the next 24 hours our internet will be disconnected due to ....... - I let the phone ring each time, and it went to voice mail each time! I finally took the phone off of the answer machine. So, when it called again, it just rang, and then they quit calling.....go figure.

I chatted with Ruth today. We will have breakfast night Friday. I do miss her. I enjoyed getting caught up with her!

I worked on the QOV paperwork. Sent off for 2 more members. Got 2 members pins. It's good to have them in.

So, I'm happy to say I was busy working on something today. Even though it was only beading and catching up with friends. I was Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!!=

What A Day.....Still Trying To Breath.....LOL

Today I slept in. I couldn't believe I just didn't want to get out of bed. I finally got there.

I played games, and enjoyed my time with Sophie. I couldn't believe the morning was gone. I finally told myself to get going and work on something. I went from beading to cross stitching (again) and quilting. Still couldn't decide. Then I finally figured out that I haven't done much on beading in a couple days, and it was time to work on that.

My bird is looking pretty good. It's coming along. I didn't get any beading done on the cat, but I will try to do that tomorrow. I really want to work on that one.

Patrick came home and we went out to eat. We had bowling tonight so we had a meal out. Then it was off to bowling. I actually did really good considering I was still a little tired. I bowled a 189, 189, 182. The good news is that I went up in a pin on my average. I'm thrilled about that. We won 3 games. It was a fun night. Have way through the first game, I was having trouble with my breathing. I guess it was because I haven't done anything stressful in a couple weeks. I need to get my breathing back to normal. I made it through bowling fine. So, I just need to breath.

Today was still another day of being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!!

Rotation Seems To Work

Today started out slow. Woke to snow coming down. Of course that didn't last long.

I checked my email and found a lot of chatter going around about what to do for Pat. Got tired of the chattering and called Georgie. She wanted to do something asap. Of course no one in the group offered to do anything,  just had voiced their thought.  One ticked both of us off when they didn't want to pay for delivery fees. We decided I would get the plant for her and get it moving. So I ordered a plant basket for her. Paid delivery fees and decided I wouldn't pay for it to be delivered today. So she should get it tomorrow.  Told Georgie to send an email that just said, ordered a plant basket, it's all taken care of. That should keep everyone happy.

Then I took care of some stuff for mom. Once all that was done, I turned the TV on and watched some Christmas movies I taped.

Pulled out my cross stitch for today's rotation. It worked great. I enjoyed sitting there working on this piece. And I felt like I was going to get a lot done.

I decided to do a daily rotation of my wips. One day I will do beading,  the next day I will do quilting, and maybe the next day will be cross stitch.  That way I don't feel like I have to get back to one thing. This way each one gets closer to being done. I don't feel like I have a ton of bricks telling me to finish. I know I'm working on it.  Maybe not today, but tomorrow.  Bany steps. I`m not working on QOV till I get Katt`s quilt done. I think beading will be tomorrow,  unless I watch TV and then it will be quilting. We bowl tomorrow night as well.

So, I fee good about doing the rotations. They really do seem to work for me. Keeping me Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!!

A Better Day

Today was a better day in many ways. The snow was falling all morning. Then the rain came.

While all this was going on outside, Sophie and I enjoyed the day in tthe house.

While I was catching up on my shows, I worked on Katt`s quilt.

Of course Sophie had to join me. I was able to get one side done. It is coming along fast. I figured if I rotate my projects, I might get them done faster. So, today was quilting, tomorrow will be either beading or cross stitching. Let's see what i`m in the mood for.

I'm back! Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!!

Snowed All Day

This morning we woke to more snow. The sun came out and it was an awesome day. It was so pretty with all that white snow.  Never occurred to me to take a photo.  Patrick went to the store for milk and bread.

I got laundry going. Cleaned up the laundry room because of the dirt on the floor.  The I scrubbed the floor under the refrigerator because every time I I opened the freezer I saw dirt in the cracks of the floor.

Then I decided to work on my beading today.

First I worked on the seed bead one. It's starting to come together.  I really want to finish this one.

Then I  went to my delica bead peyote beading.  My cat is coming out awesome!  I have to make 2 of these. This is the ornament Cats.

I went and bought 3 more patterns on etsy's website.

I was tired of the table being crowded with my bead mess. I have each set in different tins. Plus the binder with all the patterns. So, I went in my closet and cleaned 3 shelves so i could have room for the beads. That way it's easy to get to. Plus since I work on my beads at the table, putting it downstairs wouldn't help me. This way I can put them away till I want to work on them again. Keeps the table less cluttered.

Tomorrow I will work on Katt's quilt. Today was a good day. I'm getting back to being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!!!

It's A Slow Road Back To Normal

It's been a long week. Feeling sick is awesome - in more ways then one. It's taken a slow road to get back to normal - or at least what I can call normal. I haven't seen anyone for almost a week now. I did make a few calls, but not many.

Today I felt a lot better. Not wonderful - but better. I was able to eat today which was a good sign. Not as much as I wanted to eat - but then again that's another good thing. I talked to mom a couple times today as well.

We got SNOW last night. You would have thought it was a blizzard the way everyone freaks out around here. This is nothing compared to the stuff I remember as a kid in Alaska. Dad taught us all how to deal with the snow. Take it slow and if you don't have to go out, then done. Bowling called to say bowling is cancelled for tomorrow. They postponed the travel league till next week. So, all in all, it worked out for me because I wasn't able to go to either tomorrow.

Last night Patrick found my 75 year old cactus. My cat got into it! Sophie and Harley both attacked this plant! I was trying to make it come back after Harley left and after we got Sophie. It loved the living room but I had to move it. It didn't like it, so I moved it back.......and this happened.

Now with only 2 strands that MIGHT make it, I'm trying to grow it again. I'm going to give it to Phil so he can baby it. It's my great grandmother's plant and I seriously don't want to kill it. I pray it will make it and that he can get it to grow healthy again.

After fixing all that, I worked on Katt's quilt.

I'm not doing a lot on the border, and I may add more later, but right now I think this will work. I will see when I get all the way around and see how much time I have left to when she gets here. She's actually going to be given 2 quilts when she gets here, because mom's working on another one of hers as well.

Yesterday when I had the breath and the felling better I worked on my beading.

I put a few stitches in on my cat. At least you can see the ears.

Then I went back to the bird. I took out 2 rows and then put in another 4 rows. I'm finding another way to work on this piece. It's not as easy as the peyote beading. I found this one more work and hard to keep up. I'm getting closer to the second page, and I decided the word chart isn't going to happened on this one. I had it started but then I got off track and messed the last 3 rows that I had planned out. So, I'm now going back to the original pattern line by line. I'm not happy with the way the head is coming out, but it's because of the seed bead color she used. It's actually the same color as the sky.

I'm going to put a few more stitches in on the beads tomorrow if all feels good.

I'm enjoying being back to Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

The Joys Of Having The Flu

For the past two days, I've been under the weather. At least that's how we say it.

Me, I say "What the Crap~" Which is what it consisted of, crap and up chucking. Once the up chucking was done, I was on the pot, and on the pot, and on the pot.

Not a pretty sight. Not the best think in the world. I even past out - as embarrassing as it was - on the pot! I'm still on the pot but I'm getting better. Slowly, slowly, slowly. I feel like crap and can't wait to get back to normal.

I missed out on our QOV presentation yesterday....broke my heart. They were WWII Veterans that I wanted to meet.

I had Patrick cancel my dental appointment and at this rate I won't be bowling on Sunday.....UGH!!

On top of all that, I looked out my window  to find the police banging on the neighbors door and yelling. The house is up for sale. So, that didn't make me feel any better about the neighborhood at this rate. Guess it's just not my week.

I'm hoping to get back to being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Working On QOV Quilts

This morning Sherry called. We chatted for a little bit about Pat Campbell. She's the one that had the Stroke on Thursday. I still haven't heard how she is doing or what actually happened. I then went over to have some tea with her and we chatted. We had a good hour visit. Then I came home.

I needed to get moving on the QOV quilts. I had one that needed the label and then washing. The other needed the binding finished with a label, then washing.

Oh, let me get back to when I got up this morning. Sophie and I were on the bed when Sherry called. After I got off the phone I wanted to make the bed. Sophie was on the edge and in the flap area. So, Lynn being Lynn, thought it would be fun to see what happened when I pulled the bedding out from under her. NOT smart! She fell off the bed - claws drawn - hitting the back of my leg and scratching me all the way from the back of my knee and down the calf. I screamed and scared Sophie - who stayed close to me to see what the matter was. I went to the bathroom to try and stop the bleeding. I took my shower and then put antiseptic on it. Trouble was I really couldn't see it or know how far it went down the leg.....but I sure can feel it. Took a photo and sent it to Patrick with the words "Ouch." He asked if I pissed the cat off and I told him no. Truth is, it was my own fault. So, Sophie has been very close to me all day. Think she felt bad about what happened.

Okay, now back to the day. I got the label on while watching "The Good Witch" on Netflix. I got our quilt washed first, then put the quilt I finished with the label in the wash. Then I pulled out the quilt that needed about 24" of binding. I finished that and then by the time Patrick got home I was sewing the label on. Now it's in the dryer. I will try and get photos tomorrow of both the quilts. I think I already have a photo of the other quilt, but I may just get all three taken tomorrow. Then they will be given out on Wednesday.

Right now two of the quilts is in my bag. I may be able to get all three in there after we take photos. The good news is that the pillow cases are done. So, now I can get back to Katt's quilt and try and get it done by the end of the month.

As much as I want to get moving on beading and cross stitching - I really seriously need to finish this quilt! She will be here next month and it needs to be done!

My day was quiet and good. I have my pain on my leg - but at least I was Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!!

A Lazy Day - Then Bowling

Today I was up early. Patrick slept in. I got moving and made some blueberry muffins from scratch. They turned out really good. I really love the recipe I found on them.

I played a few games and just didn't get moving till around 11 am. We watched the bowling on TV. I really couldn't understand why the let the Big Brother celebrities get away with regular shoes when bowling. They needed to respect the form of bowling. The gal wore heals!! They shouldn't have let her get away with that. PLUS she was guttering the balls! She should have had some bowling experience before letting her on that tournament!! I really got irritated with that.

Sent Patrick off to go shopping. Guess it was crowded when he went.

I stayed behind watching the snow come down. It didn't stay long but we did get snow. We are supposed to get more snow tonight.

This is an older photo - but you get the idea. I was hand quilting the border. I need to think of what I'm going to do in the yellow because that his next. Then I need to figure out the black border. Once those are done I can do the binding. I really need to get this done for Katt by next month.

I didn't finish the binding on the QOV quilt. I will do that tomorrow and get both of them washed. That way I can get back to her quilt. She's been waiting for me to finish this. I took too long a break from working on this. I want to work on me beading too......oh, crap, here I go again....thinking of what needs to be finished.....ugh.

Then it was time to go bowling. I bowled a little better but still getting some lower scores. UGH! I bowled a 191, 180, 151. At least I got a 522 series. We won 3 games. We lost the second one, partly because Theresa bowled a 223.

At least today I was Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!!

Spent The Day With Mom And Working On QOV National Sew Day

Today was QOV's National Sew Day. Mom came over around 9:30 am. We were registered to work on quilts. Patrick was gone to the college for a seminar on retirement.

Mom came over and we spent the day downstairs. She brought some off white fabric to cut for the 9 patches. That would work great to use up the 4 1/2" squares we had. But first I stitched the binding on the second quilt that needed to be done for Wednesday.

After we were done we stitched all but a corner on this. I'll finish it tonight or first thing tomorrow. Then I'll wash it.

Before we stitched the binding down, we worked on other projects. Mom cut out the off white fabric for the 9 patches. We got them to go with the 4 1/2" squares that we had.

We had 3 stacks of sets.

We sewed 18 blocks together (from the other stack that was missing from the above photo). I think by the time I get the rest done there will be around 30-40 blocks. I'm going to use some of the blocks to do the panel quilt top. I need to figure out how to get it bigger, but I'm getting there Give me a little bit of time and I'll figure it out. I have a few ideas.

We were working some ideas out.

While we were cutting and stitching I got a call from Pat K (Brazilian embroidery) telling me Pat Campbell was in the hospital. She had a stroke on Thursday and is doing okay. She's getting up and walking a little, but she can't talk well enough to communicate. It took her awhile to tell PK that she needed to get a hold of me to let everyone know. We cancelled our meeting on Monday.

Neither mom or I got a call that we won anything. Sent Faye a text to see if she won anything and she didn't either.

All in all it was a great day for being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

A Day With Friends -

Today I was up and running again. I had to go and drop off paperwork to LeDuc's to get help with fundraising for the QOV group. Then I went to moms. It was quilting day. I took my embroidery and beading.

I had to work on the piece for teaching on Monday. This isn't the best but I wanted to get an idea of what I was going to teach the embroidery group. It turned out better than I thought it would. This will be used for those packets that keep things fresh. It's not very big and it will work out great.

Once that was done, I worked on another row and then started another one after that. I need to mark more on the "word chart" for the rest of it. I' almost done with what I already did. I have to put the second page in. I'm happy that it's getting there.

While I was at quilting - I found out Kathy Wagner passed away this week. It broke my heart. She was an awesome lady! She always had a good outlook on life. The past 5 years or so, she fought breast cancer and then her husband was diagnosed with Alzheimers. 6 months ago she had him moved to Olympia in a home that takes care of him. It was hard on her. Then in December just before Christmas she was told she had stage 4 cancer in the bones. They told her she had 6 months. Well, apparently it was less time then that. I will miss her dearly.

Kathy, May God Bless you and keep you! Rest In Peace!

I also found out Ethel had the flu the last week. So I called her. She still wasn't feeling good and didn't realize I needed the quilts bound by Wednesday. She had one almost done. On the way home I stopped and picked up the quilts so we could get them done in time. I need to wash them and label them. After picking them up, I went to the museum and told them we would be doing 3 presentations, and then it was a stop at the groceries. THEN I went home.

I got home at 2:30 pm - a little later than I had planned. I pulled out the quilt that Ethel was working on and got started on finishing the binding. After supper Sophie and I sat in the chair and I finished the binding. Sophie was playing with the quilt and then she finally sat with me and watched me stitch. She'd go after me at times. I don't know why she was so wound up!

I ordered the beads for my Cats Ornament. Guess Patrick got a call asking if our charges were ours. lol

I want to get back to Katt's quilt because this month is when it needs to be done. Now I have the binding to worry about and that doesn't help. I will try to get them done as soon as I can. Mom's coming over tomorrow for the National QOV Sew Day. We will be working on QOV quilts all day tomorrow. I just hope we get a top done so I don't have to worry about another one later.

All in all I was (today) Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Tree Lighting Event

Yesterday was one of those days, that when I got home, I went to bed.  It started out with going grocery shopping and stopping to visit wit...
