This morning I had a visit from the neighbors. We chatted for about an hour. It was nice to sit and chat with her.
After she left I was busy with laundry, kitchen, vacuuming, and all those things I do to clean house when company comes.
Once all that was done, I went downstairs to work on the quilt tops I'm trying to do for QOV. I was able to get a few more blocks done.
While I was trying to get more done, Faye came over to get some white fabric for her quilt. I cut her 3 yards. We chatted about what we need to do for the new requests that we have. We really need to get the 90 year old veterans done first. So, we are going to have to get more quilts done. I'm not sure if the backing is running out with Judy. We will be checking with her on that. After she left, I got back to what I was working on.
I had time before company came, so I placed an order on Connecting Threads for fabric. We were running short, so I spend money for more fabric. I got a really good deal, so just couldn't let that get away - it was on clearance. I ordered about 20 yards of fabrics.
Then Patrick got home with the pizza and drinks for tonight. Our bowling partners came over. After eating we played games. Nick won both of them. I would have but got stuck with a lot of 10's, 11's and 13's that put me in the bottom when we were done.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EACH AND EVERYONE! LETS HOPE IT WILL BE BETTER THAN 2018. AND MAY WE ALL BE HAPPY QUILTING/HAPPY STITCHING!!
This is a blog that shows my quilting, Brazilian embroidery, cross stitch, beading and more. It's a daily blog that shows how busy I can be with too many projects and how lazy I can get at times. Even boring at times. It was originally for my children who where miles away. Now, it's just a blog.

A Good Day Of Sewing
Today we didn't have plans - other than bowling.
Of course Patrick didn't like my stacks in the computer room, so I cleaned up my pile of genealogy and put them away Then I was about to go back downstairs to sew when I remembered we were going to move a few of my plants downstairs because of Sophie. She love my plants. So, I took a plant downstairs, and before I knew it, we were cleaning up the blue room.
In between cleaning, I asked Patrick to help me get a photo of the quilt that's going to be given out on Wednesday.
-
This is another finish. This is ready for giving out. This is one of the ones Ethel was binding. This makes 3 done for this year.
At least I had some of the flying geese cut. Then I had to sew them together again. When I'm doing 12 blocks of 2 different quilts, it wasn't moving very fast. Trouble is, I have 12 more smaller blocks that have to be done as well. So, it's going to be awhile on this one.
After helping get the two rooms cleaned up, I went back downstairs and worked on sewing the flying geese into star blocks. It worked out great. This is the mess - with the other blocks under these.
This is the blocks. I'm surprised - so far - that I can get the eagles to all go the right direction. I'm hoping all of them will work out great. If not, I may have to cut a couple more squares and get them to work. So, far it's working out, and that has really surprised me. I was hoping it would work, but I'm usually not that lucky.
Then it was off to bowling. We won all four games. Dan brought his girl friend with him. I really like her. This is a keeper if he can keep her. He bowled really good tonight and beat me. I bowled a 190, 168, 201. It really felt good to be back to bowling the way I used to. This last month had me thinking about whether or not I wanted to keep bowling after this year is over. I brought my average up one pin, so that makes me even happier. Patrick didn't bowl so good. The rest of the team covered for him. Nick was in a good mood, so he bowled a 657. It helps when he's in a good mood. Nick and Joanne will join us tomorrow for New Year's Eve.
Which puts me to the point of vacuuming tomorrow and picking up to get ready for company. Once I have the house nice, I'll go downstairs and try to get more of these quilts done. I will be busy for a couple days on these quilts. I'm thinking I'll do another one like the finished one I have.
I'm getting more done for Veterans, and that makes me Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Went To The Movies
This morning we were up and out the door to go to the movie "Aquaman." I really enjoyed the movie. It was an awesome movie.
Then we headed to moms to get a few things done for her. After that we were off to pick up the QOV quilt that Ethel was binding. She finished it and I needed to get a photo and wash it. We will take a photo tomorrow so I can get it washed and ready for our presentation.
So, today was a busy day, just not a productive day. I'm going to do my exercise and then try to get a few stitches done on my cross stitching.
Hopefully today will end with being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Spent The Day Sewing.....Yah I Know!
This morning I was up and being ignored by Sophie. Think she was still mad at me for yesterday when I wouldn't let her on my workstation.
I cleaned up the cat litter as well as mopped the floor and washing the rugs. I kept busy with a few things before going downstairs to work on two of the quilts I have cut and ready to sew. I'm not thrilled about the flying geese but I'm working on them.
I sewed all the strips - red, white, red - and have them ready for when I need to cut them. Then I pinned all the "flying geese" pieces together. This is the stack of both quilts. That's 24 sets.
I was able to get some of the sets sewn together. Only about 7 of them. Patrick came home early, but I stayed down there and finished sewing the all the seams. I quit at the point where I have to cut the fabric, iron, and then get the other sets ready to sew again. I'm not thrilled about flying geese. As soon as I can get all 48 (per set) done, then I'll be happy. I guess I'm at 96. It's taken me most of the afternoon to get this far, and we all know how much I HATE sewing. But we need 6 more quilts to be able to keep up with the requests. Since all the others are enjoying the holidays, I've been trying to keep us on schedule. I just got another 4 requests since Christmas.

Hopefully I can work on them some more tomorrow. I would like to have a couple of them done by the 9th when I go up to see Sharon.
So, the good news is that I was actually Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Was At Mom's Today
This morning I had to be out of the house early to get to moms. I let her cleaning lady in. Then I went to the main office and talked to Sherri about getting Art a quilt for QOV. She said she will work on him for me.
I took my box of QOV fabrics and checked in with Georgie. She's been doing blocks for us. I love the blocks she's doing. She's been freaking out that they aren't good enough. She does an awesome job. I wish she didn't freak out so much because her work is so beautiful! I should have taken a photo of her blocks. I gave her more fabric to work on more blocks.
While I was there at moms I cut out the quilt that Whalen Quilt Works donated to us. I'm thinking we might keep the 5 yards of fabric for another quilt. I really don't want a seam on the back of the quilt. I'll talk to Suzy and see what she thinks. I have the quilt all cut out and ready to sew. I'm not going to sew this one! That stupid 7/8" has got me all messed up! I even messed up on the new fabric I bought to replace my last goof! So, I've made it so we can use both fabrics. There is plenty to do that. Any extra fabrics can be used in a scrap quilt. I'm okay with that. I brought the squares for the stars and the big block for the eagle. I'm still going to change the design of the eagle. I don't like the head, so I'm going to see what we can do to change it.
After all that, I stopped off at the Veterans Memorial Museum to make sure we were ready for the 2nd. We will be having our presentation then. I wanted to know were they get the sandwiches. They said they get them from the Chehalis Deli. I went there but they are closed till Jan 2nd.
Then I came home. I put everything away, and then sat down to enjoy some time with Sophie. I called Sharon to set up a date to go to her house and learn how to do the beading. Patrick got me 2 kits to do the beading. I'm really loving the ones he got me. We talked about the kits and she is going to check them out to see if I can do the beading style I like. The kits has them set for "4 squares" and I don't know if I want to do that. We'll see. She said that takes longer, but it's on top of each other. I like her style so we will see in January.
I will try and get some quilting done tonight. I'm going to try and get started on the quilt tops downstairs that are ready to be sewed. I'm hoping that tomorrow I can get more done. Tonight, I'm just not ready to get moving much. I really need to get Katt's quilt going, so I'm going to pull that out for now. - After I get my QOV information updated. Looking forward to being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Cutting More Quilts and Bowling Today
This morning I sleep really well. I didn't even get up once last night.
When I did get up, I was enjoying the morning by playing a few games. I also got the kitchen cleaned up - unloading the dishwasher and putting away the breakfast dishes. I then walked in circles and tired to decide what do do. I wanted to work on my cross stitching, my black and white quilt, and I needed to get a few more quilts for QOV cut.
So, I went downstairs and turned the fireplace on. Came back up and finished folding the clothes in the dryer. Once all that was done, and the fireplace had time to heat up, I went down there. I pulled out the pattern I had to cut another quilt top. Since there is a couple different ways to put it together, I decided to cut 2 quilts out. I didn't do the borders, I'll probably have to figure those out later. I do have some fabric left over, but not sure how that will work out. May end up doing a different fabric for the border. It's hard to say so far.
This is 2 of the quilts that are ready to be sewn. One is under the other. It will be fun to see how they turn out. The amount of fabric it says one needs to make this quilt is wrong. I saved a lot of fabric by cutting some of the extras off the left over strips. I didn't have to cut 3 strips, just 2 strips. I found that it was easier to cut one at a time to see if I really needed that.

This is the 3rd quilt I cut out. It's a lot of strips with star blocks. The dark blue has eagles in the print. It's pretty and will be a little hard to have them all going the right direction. I'm not too worried about it. The first thing I'm going to do is sew the strips together. Then I'll get working on the flying geese. Those will be a pain, but they will be easy enough to do. I like the way it saves fabric, but I really don't like having to cut so much. I can get over it.
For someone who hates to sew, I'm doing pretty good.
After I came back up, Sophie was playing with her Christmas toy. She loves it.
=
When she's not playing with it, she guarding it. It was a big hit and she kept us entertained all day yesterday.
Then it was off to bowling. I did a little better, but still not great. I dropped another 2 pins in my average. We were fighting for last place! lol - I bowled a 162, 152, and a 154. At least I was over 150 - but still not happy with this. Dropped my average to 174. GRR Patrick bowled a 609 series. So, he did fine and he's back on track. I can hope!
I'm going to do my "to do list" for "Finish-a-long" to start the first quarter of next year. I really do want to have Katt's quilt done by then. That would be a good one. Then I have a few more to add to it.
In the meantime, I'm planning to stay Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE
Today we started out with me making homemade blueberry muffins. The turned out great, now I just need to find the recipe again and print it.
Since it was just the two of us, we enjoyed breakfast and opening gifts. Patrick got me a beautiful locket wth dad laser printed in it. I cried. Katt got me an air fryer ad I can't wait to try it out! I also got some bead kits from Patrick that I can't wait to learn ow to do. Phil and Emily got me some bread baking pans and a pot I can heat to 550 degrees for baking bread. Emily drew me a beautiful picture of Sophie that I knew rightaway it was Sophie. Love the art work. I wore my new slippers all day long.
We watched movies all day. All were Christmas movies. While we watched them, I stitched.
Autumn is now done right. I`m on November's pat now.
Tomorrow I need to work on more QOV quilts. Got 2 more requests for quilts.
We had Prime Rib for our Christmas meal. It turned out awesome. Had pie later in the evening.
Got a toy for Sophie and she kept us entertained most of the day.
It turned out t be a good quiet day. We wish everyone had a very Merry Christmas! God bless! Tomorrow is another day to be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!!

All Day To Myself On Christmas Eve
This morning I was up early. Just because. Patrick had to work so it was just me all day.
This was actually the first or second time I've had Christmas Eve by myself. I think the first time was the year after Patrick and I were married. But then I think I spent it with my brother and sister-in-law. I really don't ever remember having Christmas Eve to myself.
This year of all years and I was alone most of the day. Sophie kept me company. I did laundry and worked on my cross stitch while watching a lot of Christmas movies. I did cry during one of them. When the father walked the daughter down the isle. I wish I had that with my father. Patrick and I were married in OK and my family couldn't make it. He's family couldn't either, so it ended up just being my adopted grandparents and my brother and sister-in-law. If I could do things differently, I would have.
So, I enjoyed my shows.
By the afternoon I had this much done. I was please with myself. Half the time I was sitting with Sophie and keeping her company or the other way around. She wanted attention, so I gave it to her. I cried and she looked at me as if I was an alien from another planet. At least she didn't run away.
I actually had "UTUMN" on there, and then REMEMBERED I had to take part of the "M" out to get it to work right......SO, I ripped out "UTU" and part of the "M." It took a good hour to take it all out. I was so close! I was ready to do the "A" when I looked at the piece again and saw that I hadn't fixed my "M." Lucky me!!
I was taking all that out while Patrick and I were watching the Holiday Baking Show.
So, today wasn't all that bad. I got laundry done, washed the QOV quilt, and got a lot in on my cross stitching. I could of had a worse day.
Tomorrow will be just the 2 of us again. We haven't been the 2 of us for Christmas in 30 years. It wasn't easy back then, and I hope this doesn't became a trend, but it's looking more and more like it will. Sucks to grow old and have family too far to enjoy them. Yet I wasn't ready to travel several miles to my brothers place to spend it with them. I'm not there yet.

Enjoyed The Day.....Just The Two Of Us
This morning we started out slow. Didn't have anything to really do today. So, we enjoyed watching TV for a bit.
Then bowling was on TV. So, "we" had to watch that - at least it wasn't a football game that wasn't the Seahawks. While "we" watched TV, I went into the computer room to get some of my secretary duties done. Paid bills and got our billing done. I'm happy with the way it came out. Next I will have to close out all this years stuff and get next years in order. I have to label my folders.
While we watched TV (before bowling), I was able to get some stitching in. Sophie thought a couple times that she could help me. I had to let her know I didn't need her help.
I'm almost done with October. Just a few more stitches on the left. Then I can get to November. I think the letters will go quick. I had to pull out my June pattern because of where the 4 patterns line up. I needed to see who the leaf goes that is right under the "M". I really thought I could figure it out with Aug, but that wasn't the case.
Then I had Patrick go outside and let me take a picture of the quilt. Ethel got it bound and I picked it up on Friday. Which was nice, because I can wash it before giving it away on the 2nd.
I like the way it came out. I have a couple more of these I will be doing. It was fun to do. It looks better close up.
We were out the door early to get to Safeway before bowling. We had a potluck to do at bowling. Then it was time to bowl.......I at least did better tonight tonight, but that's not saying much. I bowled a 153, 153, and a 173. At least it was in the 150's and above. I need to get back on track! We lost all 4 games though. Good thing we won the first quarter, 'cause we aren't doing that good the second quarter!
Now it's time to call it a night and be thankful I was able to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!!=

Went Shopping Today Of All Days
This morning Patrick and I wanted to get out early. We went up to Costco to pick up the Prime Rib they have with all the garlic and stuff. Dad used to do that part, and we would cook it. Dad loved his Prime Rib. He would buy a big one and we'd have plenty to eat. It was busy, and things were packed. We didn't buy a lot. But we didn't have to wait too long to get through the line. I noticed a few others were there for the Prime Rib too.
We got home and headed back out the door to the movies. We went to see the new "Bubble Bee" movie. I really enjoyed that. We found out how he got his name. It's a good movie, so if you get the chance go see it. I tend to like movies like this. They are fun with plenty of action. Trouble was I had to go to the bathroom when the action started! Never fails!!
Came home and cooked and cleaned the kitchen.
After supper I was able to put a few stitches in on my cross stitch.
I was able to get more done on this piece. I'm still in October, but it's coming along. I'm close to being done with October. I have the left side to finish and then I can put the word "Autumn" in. I really like this piece, so it's coming along when I get the chance to work on it. Trouble is, there is this part to finish, and then roll it again to finish Decemeber's part. I really would love to have this done by the end of the year, but that might not happen.
Plus Katt's quilt needs to get done as well. I'm working on it. At least today I was able to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!!

My Day To Myself
Today I got up and got laundry started. Then I played a few games. Cleaned up a little.
Then I sat down and mom called. I helped her with some computer stuff. And that's when I got to looking at one of my ancestors...that lead to one thing....then another.
Before I knew it I was entering all about the Little family and then I got off to the Tuttle family. I'm back to the 1600's. I have Tuttle in my family, and I got off in all directions of the Little family.
So, all in all, I really didn't do much - other than enter 100 names into the family tree.
Tonight is another night, and I'm going to pull out my cross stitch and get it going. I should have done it more today. So, I'm going to get off the computer and get it done.
That's Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!!

From A Party To A Massage
This morning I got moving early. I was up and running at 7:30 am. I got the dough going for my Christmas Cinnamon Bread. I started it for Phil but realized after I was putting the star together, it had egg and he couldn't have that. Dang! I was pushing with time. I needed to be at our Christmas Party (at Cil's house) by 11 am. I was still rolling the dough at 10 am. I was pushing time. But I did love working on this.
I love the design that came out of it. It's so pretty!! I had this raising while I ran out the door. Went to Safeway to get some stuff for the potluck and took my two bags of fat quarters. We had a fat quarter exchange. I had called Cil to tell her I would be running late. Good news, I wasn't late.
We started out with chatting. We did find out one of our members has stage 4 cancer. That broke all our hearts. Then we decided to eat before our exchange. We did the left, right game for the exchange. Then before I knew it, it was 1 pm and I was out the door. Phillip was already here. So, Patrick took the afternoon off to see Phil. The good news is that they got to spend time together. I see more of Phil than he does. So, when I finally arrived I had about 10 mins with Phil. I love his new business! He's so talented. He's got his own website - Zeshio - Phillip Wiltzius
I was baking the Star bread while he was here. He left before it was done. I cleaned up my kitchen because I had a mess from this morning. Then I was out the door.
I was off to get my massage for my neck. The arthritis has been giving me a pain in the rear! It's been hurting quiet a bit lately.
After dinner I got back to working on my cross stitching.
I finished up the grapes and am working my way up. I'm still in the October part of this. I'm hoping to get this done. Then I can get moving on November. I can't wait to get this done. I really want to work on my other stuff. I'm almost tired of the same color, but I love this!

Not My Best Day
This morning I was up with Patrick and out the door about 10 mins after him. I had to meet mom's cleaning lady at the house. Of course she was there before I was. I let her in and then headed to give Art his gift. Stayed and chatted with him.
Then on the way back from walking over there, I picked up moms mail. Got back to the house and started cutting out the kit that Rita gave us for QOV.
This is the kit that we received. Of course I went through the fabrics and marked them as "Fabric 1," "Fabric 2" all the way to 7 different fabrics. Then I cut as the instructions said - to Fabric 4. On fabric 2, I messed up. I cut wrong and messed up the cutting. So, I went to Rita's to see if she had the fabric - NOPE. Then went to Sister's to see if they had it. NOPE - they had 4 of the fabrics that are in the kit - but not the one I needed. So, I bought a different fabric for it.
When Sherri was done with cleaning, I left. I went to the quilt shop - like I said - then went to the Dollar Store. Had to get a brown bag for tomorrow. I ended up buying a about 50 bags! Don't know what I'm going to do with all those bags, but oh, well.
Came home and cut some bars for Cherry and took her some for Christmas goodies. I gave her some pumpkin bar. Then came home to Sophie who thought I was gone for days. Patrick came home early and took a nap. I watched Hallmark channel and worked on my QOV paperwork. Need to get some things done before the 2nd.
Then it was time to go bowling. We had a gift exchange - where we had to strike in order to get our gift. I was 5th from last. Anyway, today was not a good day of bowling! I bowled a 137, 157, 157. That got me another pin lower than I was. Not my 2 weeks for bowling - should just give it up! Miss dad not being there to comment. We lost 3 games again. None of us were really one. Fred was bowling left handed. He didn't do so good, but he will get there. He's pretty quick at figuring it out.
Not my best day......been crying off and on today. All anyone had to do was say something about Christmas and I was in tears. Even at the bowling alley! Really not my day.
Tomorrow is another day to be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

It Ended Up A Good Day
Today I was up shortly after Patrick left. I took some time to myself. I watched Sophie run around the house for a bit. Played a few games.
Then decided I needed to do something! So, I went downstairs....and I looked around. There was plenty to do. So, I found a background fabric that would work on the quilt I had cut the blue and red for. Then I cut out the rest of that.
I have it all in the bag, ready to work on. One of these days, I'll sit down and work on this one.
AND then it hit me, I needed to make pillow cases for the quilts that are done. So, I pulled out fabric for three pillows. One is for the one I cut the fabrics out for.
I think they turned out great. I need to do a few more. I have 3 quilts that will be given out in January, so I need to get a case for those. At least I got a start on this.
My next thing was baking pumpkin bars. So, I worked on those tonight. Was hoping to do more cross stitching but it may not happen. I wish I could.
I got a text that mom's cleaning lady wants to clean tomorrow at 8 am. So, I need to get up really early and get over there for her. Not liking it so early but that's what she does for mom.
It will be a day of Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!!

Qu=
Today I was up and running. Had to get the house vacuumed and clean up a few things before company arrived. Patrick helped decorate the table last night, so that I didn't have a lot to do. Cherry called to say she wouldn't make it, she wasn't feeling good. I brought her gift for the exchange. I have her gift here and will take it to her tomorrow.
Pat arrived first and then the rest started coming. We had 8 of us. It was so much fun. We didn't get any work done, just chatted the for beginning of the party. At about 11:10 am I asked if they wanted to eat first or do the exchange first. They all wanted to do the exchange. So, I read the story, "Suing Santa" which was a LEFT, RIGHT game. It was fun and I took my time reading the story. it was a kick watching them figure out left and right! Everyone was pleased with their gifts.
We then sat down and eat. There was plenty of food as usual. I got to keep some. We then chatted more. Told stories of growing up and what was one of our favorite Christmas stories.
Goergie picked up some fabrics for QOV blocks. She's going to make some blocks for me and I'll put them together. She took some fabric to help her out.
Then everyone was gone. I sat and watched some TV and got laundry going again. Enjoyed a couple hours before Patrick got home.
I worked on this tonight. Didn't get to work on it very long. Patrick decided to call it a night earlier than usual. But I'm happy to say it's coming along. I'm getting there...little by little. I will probably try to get some quilting done tomorrow.
Patrick went and got my new workstation from my son's best friend. His mother passed a couple years ago, and he wanted me to have it. His grandfather made it for his mom. I'm honored to take it. It will get good use out of it. Plus I really like it. More draws than I can use but I'm going to organize it so that I can put my boxes in there and have it so one doesn't see my messes - or I can dream.

Another Day Of Baking And Bowling
This morning we were up and moving. Patrick was cleaning the bathrooms. I was getting started with the Scandinavian Almond Bread. I decided to try and make them in the smaller bread pans. That way I can give one away as a gift if I wanted to. Patrick will cut one for his work tomorrow. I'll cut the other one for tomorrow when the Christmas Party gets going.
I also started bread. I had a bread for Scott and Teri and one for us. The one for Scott and Teri turned out awesome. The one I made for us, didn't want to come out of the pan right, so that wasn't a good thing. It actually split. Oh, well, at least the better one went with Teri and Scott.
Patrick helped with decorating the table and getting it ready for tomorrow. I just need to vacuum.
I then went downstairs and cleaned up my work station. I pulled out all my QOV fabrics and got them into the boxes. It was overflowing and they needed to be put into place. I have a box that I need to cut the fabrics into squares. I can use some more 3" squares and then I can do more variegated 9-patch quilt blocks. Then I can have another quilt like the one I just finished washing. That will get rid of the scraps. We did received word on our grant, and we only got $550 for our group That will go fast with the backing and batting. I'm thinking that's a one trip job. We need to get more money some how, so I posted another QOV donation page on Facebook.
Then it was off to bowling. I didn't do so good. I bowled a 148, 181, 147 - so I dropped a pin in my average - AGAIN. I'm just not doing very good lately. I am really in a slump. I almost wish dad was around so I could talk to him or he can give me ideas. But we all know that can't happen.
Last night I was able to get some cross stitching done.
I ended up taking some of my work out, because I added it in the wrong place last time. NOW, I'm back on track....but then I remember saying that last time. I am now working on the grapes that are in the middle of that area. I'm hoping to get more done tomorrow. But then we will be working on our current piece of BE.
Looking forward to tomorrow. It's being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!!

It Was A Candy Making Day
This morning we started the day later. When it did get moving, I got started on the Peanut Brittle.
Peanut Brittle is one of our favorites. This will be more for Patrick's work then for us. May have to make another batch.
Then it was time to do the peanut clusters. They are a new thing this year and a very BIG hit. I do all this in the crock pot.
That took time. Then I worked on my last couple Christmas cards that I forgot to do. I also got Art a gift card for Dawn's Delectables in Centralia. I think he will like it. Might not, but at least he can try it. I give him a different one each year.
I got Sophie's tail in the door, and I freaked out. Poor girl didn't know how to handle me. Once I sat in my chair - after calming down - she came up. At least I didn't bind her tail.
Got one of my 4 quilts back from Ethel.
Ethel is binding my quilts. This will probably be given out on the 2nd. I'll have a couple quilts extra and will leave them at the Museum so we have them when we need them. One more down. I also posted another donation page on Facebook.
We went out to eat. My kitchen was a disaster, so I cleaned it up when we got home. I'm going to make the Scandinavian Almond Bread tomorrow. Plus I want to get a bread done tomorrow as well. That way I have bread for Scott when he comes to sign some checks for me.
I'll be busy tomorrow baking, but tonight I play to get some stitches into my SAL piece. I'm planning to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!!

Another Day Of Running......Then Quilting
This morning I was up early because mom called. I chatted with her for awhile. Patrick took the day off, so he was trying to sleep....which didn't happen between the phone call, text, and Sophie running all over the place.
Then I was out the door with my extra aida fabrics that I wanted to give to Rita. I also grabbed the quilt that was picked up from Bill. I stopped at the quilt shop and took the fabric in to Rita. Told her she could do anything she wanted with it. I didn't want it, and I really didn't want to sell it on eBay. I figured that was one way to get it out of the house. Then I went to Dawn's Delectables for the group lunch. Because I got a text at 6 am asking me to come in earlier - I had to leave at 12:15. I thought we were meeting at 11 am, and so did 3 of us. Come to find out we had to be there at 11:30 am. Which meant I had to leave by 12:15 to be there by 12:25 pm. UGH. I was served at noon, then had to leave in 15 minutes.
Got to my message therapy for my neck. Right after had to go get some stuff for mom. Then had to go to her house and pay the bill. While I walked down to get the mail, Irene was waiting for me at the door. We chatted awhile, which stalled me for a few minutes. It was good to see her. Gave her a hug. I really enjoyed it.
Then I had to run to Ethel's to get the quilt she finished the binding on. I traded with her for the one I had. I would have given it to her at the luncheon but because I had to leave and everyone was eating, I didn't get to do that.
Came home and paid a few more bills for our water system. We were going to go out to eat, but we had a visit from one of the "customers." He found the leak in his yard. So, we had to get it fixed. So, because Patrick is the President of the water, we had to stick around. We ended up with TV dinners. What fun!
So, we watched TV. And I quilted.

Made it to the corner. I haven't turned the corner yet. I'm about 3 inches from that corner. I really don't like doing this, so I'm stalling. I guess part of that reason is that Patrick sent off Katt's Christmas gifts already. I really do need to get this done this year. Along with a couple more things.
Maybe it's Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!!

Didn't Stay Long With Friends
This morning was one that I really didn't want to get up for. Not sure why, but I was wanting to sleep more. I behaved and got up anyway.
I checked to see where my scissors where. I had a pair missing and wanted to take them with me to our meeting. I found them under the chair. I was texting Susy about the quilt kit that was donated. We will do it for Mike. I'd like her to make it, and I'll do some applique. We will chat about it before I get started. I'm not sure I can do a good job of putting it together.
Anyway, was off to our meeting. Got there before everyone else. Enjoyed some time with Rita, and picked up a gift for our embroidery party on Monday. It's going to be here at the house. So, I need to get ready for that this weekend. I was able to get a few things done.
I appliqued the two eagle feathers. I was able to get the tops and bottoms of the wings done. I didn't have much done on the first one, and was able to get the second one done as well. It felt good to have them done. Now I need to work on the body. I'll get moving on that soon. I need to get it ready. Then I'll have to put it on the background to get it down. When I finished them, I decided to come home.
On my way home I stopped at Safeway to get milk and pork chops. I needed to get something for dinner since I forgot to take anything out.
I arrived home around 1:30 pm. I got my lunch and sat down to watch a few shows. I pulled out my cross stitching as well.
I'm happy to say, I have been getting a lot done. I finished up the triangle on the side. Now I need to go into the center area and get that moving. I will work on it.
Guess I'm getting to the point where I want to be alone again. Not sure why, but I am. I will be going to our Christmas lunch with moms quilt group tomorrow. I hope I'll do better. I need to enjoy myself with friends and feel thankful I have friends.
Tomorrow is another day and I'll stay Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!!

Spent The Morning With Dian
This morning I was up with Patrick. He asked me to do a casserole like the one I did the other day. I had most of it together, and just needed to add the other stuff. So, I pulled it out of the refrigerator, then I added the corn and frozen tatter tots. I had it all set for him. All he had to do was cook it at work.
Headed to Staples for the last gift for Patrick.
Then I enjoyed about an hour getting ready to leave. I got moms gifts from Katt as well as the other stuff I had of hers. Then I headed over to Dian's. I told her she should have called me last Friday, because I completely forgot to go over! We laughed about it. Told her next time to call me. Then we got to work and posted her books, summer spreads, and dolls on eBay. We got a lot done today. I believe we posted about 12 items in about 3 hours. We had to take some photos and get it ready to post. Once we got the photos done, then we got busy posting her stuff on eBay. She likes it when I type, because I type a lot faster than she does. We do get a lot done. She's good with the photos and ideas.
Dian gave me this book. I love it!
After that, I headed to the quilt shop. I collected the quilt kit that was donated to our QOV group. It's browns and blues. I like it. Debated on working on it. I think I will cut the fabrics and give the applique work to mom, Susy and myself. Once the applique is done, then we could get it put together, and Susy's really good about doing that. I'll chat with her tomorrow on it. If she goes to the meeting.
Then it was off to moms house to get her mail and papers. I went through the mail and organized it for her. I tried calling her but she wasn't answering.
Came home. I was going to stop and get Art a gift card, but decided I can do that tomorrow on the way to quilting. I just need to remember that. Plus I realized after Patrick asked me if I watered moms plants that I didn't, so may need to stop back at moms tomorrow to get them watered.
Was able to get a few more stitches in on the October section. I'm about ready to roll it, so took a photo of this part. It's coming along great. I really do want to work on it some more.
BUT that wasn't to be. Had bowling tonight.....AND I really, really don't want to talk about it!! I bowled so bad!! I couldn't find my lines. I'd hit my mark and miss. I had so many opens it wasn't funny!! I bowled 136, 149, 151. That dropped my average 3 pins!! I'm now at 177.....and not happy about it! I almost didn't get a 100 in the second the way I was going. I had a 70 in the 7th frame!! UGH! - Don't want to talk about it.
So, tomorrow is another day. Then our luncheon on Friday. It's the holiday season and I need to figure out a couple more gifts. UGH. At least I'm keeping up with being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Don't Know What's Up With Me
Today I shocked myself by sleeping in till 9:30 am. I rarely ever do that!! Then I got up, and couldn't get moving. I was still tired, maybe from sleeping so long.
When I finally got moving, I put a load of laundry in. Then I turned the TV on. I played for awhile and then I was up and moving around. Couldn't seem to figure out what I wanted to do.
Then by 3 pm, I was settled down and working on my cross stitch.
The good news is, I finished the bottom section. I'm not working my way back up. I will roll my bars tomorrow as I go. While I was working on this, my Seahawk needle minder came apart and now I can't find the magnet that attaches to the piece. I looked but when you think about it, if it feel between my chair, that means it's attached to something in my chair. Not as easy to find as if it fell through and down the chair. At least I could have found it on the floor, but no such luck. Patrick said he'll help me look tomorrow. I'm liking this piece. I'm hoping to get it done before the end of the year. I'm only on October, but now I have November and December designs. That will make it a straight through shot.
I did do a pie after Patrick got home. I had it all put together and in the refrigerator by the time supper was over. It needs to sit over night, so we can have it tomorrow.
I don't know what's up with me lately. The last two days have been boring. At least I thought so. I didn't do much but play games - and more then usual! I didn't want to go see Cherry, even though I thought about it. Oh, well. Hopefully it will change the rest of the week, as I have quilting to go to. I thought we had our quilting party for Thursday this week, but the emails say otherwise, so I'm wondering if we have them next week. I really can't remember! I know we have the luncheon in Centralia on Friday for moms group. They have been missing not going quilting I know. I just wasn't going to open moms house up for them and then they don't show up. Plus I have been busy on Fridays lately.
Tomorrow I'm off to Dian's and then to mom's place. I do need to stop at the shop to pick up some fat quarters for when we do have our party. Plus she has a kit for QOV group. I'm interested in seeing what it is. She said it's applique.
Okay, I'm going to call it a night. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day, and I'll get out of this "slup" I seem to be in. At least I haven't given up on being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

A Day Of Reflecting
Today I was up and getting moving. I started the laundry and then I mopped the kitchen floor. Sophie was following me. I know Patrick vacuumed yesterday before he decorated...that's what he does.
I was working on my booklets today. I wanted to get them updated. I have 3 booklets that I found are outdated. I do "dairies" of my quilts and QOV. I couldn't believe I was 2 years out dated. But then the way I've been going, it was normal for me. 2 of the books were QOV related. One was on my dad's quilt and the other of what I'm doing with QOV. Hard to believe it's been 2 years. It seems so much less.
As I was doing the book on dad. I thought about the year before he passed. The year were I had a feeling I needed to get his quilt done and soon. Just like I had the feeling to do Patrick's mom's quilt and get it to her. Also the time I wanted to get a quilt made for his Uncle, but I knew it wasn't going to be done in time. So, I had someone else try to get his quilt to him. All in all, I had the feeling they were not going to be around much longer. I remember leaving mom and dads place, and thinking I need to give dad a hug and kiss before I go, I might not be able to much longer. When I turned back to dad to do that, he laughed and said that exact thing, "yah you better, I might not be around much longer." It was as if he read my mind when I went a kissed him. I told him it was a feeling I just had to do. We talked the year before he passed. He would hint to me, he wasn't going to be around. Like when he bought the grill for the Gather Place at Stillwaters. I asked why he did it, and he said he wanted a better grill then the one they had. Plus, he might be able to use it once, but didn't think he would ever use it. When I asked why he would say that, he laughed and said, "who knows, I may be cooking for them again." In life I think we know, we just don't pay attention to what we are being told. How many times I've ignored that angel in my ear that tells me something and I go one without responding. But I did with dad. I heard it, responded to it, and then refused to listen to what my angel was telling me. No one wants to accept the death of a loved one, but I find I've been told if only I listened.
My booklets are up to date, except one - the QOV one. I have so much that I've done over the past 2 months that I'm tired of writing it down. I'll work on it in the next few days to get caught up or I'll write a long information page to get me caught up and move on.
While I was doing laundry, I had a helper. Not the kind of help I wanted, but she just wanted me to know she was there.
Miss Sophie likes to go into the dryer to see what got dry. Then she stays till I pull her out. I try to keep her from going in, but when I hang up a shirt, she's there. I got her out, and was able to get the rest of my laundry done. I keep her away from the dry clothes, as I don't need any more hair on our clothes then we get when she comes near us.
I got a call that my next quilt is done quilting. I checked with Faye to see if she could pick it up. She didn't answer back, but I'll know tomorrow, I guess.
I pulled out my cross stitch and I'm going to work on that tonight. I'm a little tired of quilting stuff, so I'm going to do my cross stitch tonight.
I'm going to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!!

A Full Day Of Bowling
This morning I needed to get the casserole in the oven to take to our Christmas party with our Travel League. I arrived around 10:30 am not realizing I needed to be there sooner. For some reason I thought we were bowling 11:30 am or that it wouldn't take that long to get there. Guess I was wrong on both accounts. When I arrived everyone was pretty much there. I added the food to the table, and gave out my gifts to everyone on our team. I also gave a gift to Jahn, as she has been a good friend from Longview. Then I found out her twin brother just passed away recently. They had his services this last week. He was told he had cancer, and within a month he was gone.
As for my bowling, that's a whole 'nother story! I bowled a 146, 163, 200. So, I ended up winning all 4 of my games. I did win last month, because the secretary brought me an envelope of my high game with handicap. I won $5. I was happy with that, but I couldn't win any of the spares or strikes that we put in for.
I won this cut little guy. He's a candle holder. I really like him. It's not the best picture because I took it without a flash. My bad.
Came home and cleaned up my table. Patrick was so sweet to decorate the house, that I really needed to clean up my mess by my chair. I did. This week I need to clean up my mess downstairs. I really need to get rid of a few things.
He even brought up my stuff snowman to go in the corner. I like what little he did. It's really nice. At least I will have a few things out for when the embroidery group comes.
Then it was off to bowling tonight. Bowled a team I really hate bowling. Every time something comes up. If it's not one thing it's another. And in this case it was one of their bowlers didn't show up, and didn't tell them till about 10 mins before bowling. So, one of the bowlers asked his brother to bowl, but he wouldn't be there till the second game. Which meant we would bowl the teammate blind (we had one blind as well) the first game. Then the second game he bowled. By the time it was all figured out, when they added the new bowler, it added 60 pins to there already high handicap. With our handicap at 86 and theirs started out at 207, then when they had the sub it was 266. None of us were bowling that great, so we only won the first game. After that we lost by 40-60 pins. I bowled crappy. I started with a 138, 174 and ended with a 145. Not my best night. I guess I was more frustrated with all the mess going on and not liking bowling the team, that I really didn't do well at all.. I just wanted to get the night over with.
Tomorrow is another day. No plans other then doing laundry and maybe going downstairs and cleaning a few things up. I seriously need to get rid of stuff. I have stuff I keep thinking I'm going to do, and then don't. So, if I get in the mood, I'll go clean.
Looking forward to finishing Katt's quilt too, so may sit and quilt while the laundry is going. That would be a good day of being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!!

Went To A Play At Evergreen Playhouse
Today started out like most days. Patrick was enjoying sleeping in, and I was playing my games.
After he got up, I sent him shopping for a few things since I needed supplies for the casserole I'm doing tomorrow. While he was off doing that, I was heating some nuts and chocolate in a crockpot. It took about an hour to melt, and then another 15 mins after I stirred it. The next thing was scooping them out on wax paper to cool. I made about 75 chocolate clusters. They taste really good too. But they do take a lot of different chocolates.
After that, I started the stew. Patrick picked up stew meat and I started cooking it. I like to have it cook most of the day. It tastes better that way. We used the potatoes from his garden, so he didn't have to buy any more.
While I was doing all the cooking, Patrick was wrapping gifts. Then he boxed up his dads gifts and Katt's gifts. They are boxed and ready to be mailed. Bet that's going to cost us.
We enjoyed a Scrooge movie that was done by Disney. I hadn't seen it before. It was different.
I quilted more on the Black and White quilt. Almost to the corner, which I believe is the second corner.
I'm thinking about what I will do for the black border, as it's a lot wider. I know she just wants straight lines, so I'll try and see how far apart I want them.
Then it was time to go to the play at the Evergreen Playhouse theater in Centralia. I tried to get the photo off my phone, but not luck. It was "Scrooge the Musical" and very, very good. I really enjoyed it, and was surprised at how well they went from one scene to the next. I love going to the theater lately. This is more fun at times then seeing a movie. The people in the plays are really good.
I'm ready for tomorrow, I think. I have the casserole meat done, and mixed with the cream of chicken. I'll add the beans and then the tatter tots tomorrow and bake it. I have my gift boxes ready, just need to add some clusters. Then I think I'm good. Guess I'll find out tomorrow.
So, now it's late, and time to go to bed. I may not be doing hand work tomorrow, because it's a double duty day of bowling. I will try. Patrick said he may surprise me and decorate the house.
Tomorrow I'll be thinking of being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching.

Another Day To Myself
As I type this, I'm wondering if I did my blog last night. I'm thinking I didn't.
I had today and yesterday to myself. I guess you I look back at yesterday and today, I really didn't do much.
I did work on my Christmas cards. I have written in the ones I'm sending. I still have a few more to go, but I'll get these out while I can. Patrick will do his tomorrow.
I did go see how Cherry was doing. She's doing good. I've just missed not going over in the last month.
I kept busy with laundry - yesterday. Today we didn't have water from 9 am to 5 pm. So, what is it about water? When you know you have water, you don't need it. You don't use it very often....you just don't think about it. Then you find out you don't have water....that makes you want water! You think about washing your hands, and oops, no water. You think about cooking, no worries, till you put your hands in the mixing bowl....then you need the water to wash your hands. Good thing I had some water bottles with water. I could brush my teeth and wash my hands with that little of water. Yes, I've been through this before. I learned from my father (as a kid) how to save water and use what you had. So, it brought back a few memories.
I did TRY to make some sourdough bread....it bombed. I think the weather had something to do with that as well. UGH. I did do another bread - regular this time - to be able to give to the neighbors. I told them yesterday I was doing sourdough, so chances are that's the reason it didn't work out!
The neighbors got half my bread. lol - I wanted some bread too! It turned out really well. It's airy. The sourdough tasted good but was dense and not so good with raising. So disappointing! I'll have to use the yeast next time if this continues.
I did get some stitching done on the quilt yesterday. I'm close to having one side done.
Gifts are coming in, so I'll wrapping them as they come in! Even though we won't have a big Christmas. Just the two of us. But we still have gifts for others that need to be wrapped.
I'm going to be back to being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

A Really Busy Day
First thing this morning I was out the door and off to my physical therapy. Good news is I don't have to go back.
Then it was off to moms, where I took care of her mail. We talked on the phone and before I knew it, I was out the door yet again.
As I was on my way to our QOV meeting, I received a call. The gal said it was 10:30 am and no one was there for the meeting. I told her I was 2 minutes out and would be there. There were 3 new people at the meeting. They sounded like they wanted to join. They were excited about making quilts for the Veterans. It was funny because they thought there was another group in Winlock and we told them no, there isn't another group South of Olympia other than us. We will be doing a presentation in Jan. Then we set up a day in Feb which is a Saturday. That is for Faye's grandson. Ethel took my quilt that I picked up yesterday, and will do the binding on it. So, she has all three of my quilts right now.
After the meeting I headed home, for about 1/2 an hour to get lunch and box up mom's clothes she asked for. I had it all boxed and decided to go online to do the mailing. Once all that was done, I was out the door, yet again.
This time it was to my message therapy. He really worked me over. Once that was over, I was off to the bank for mom, then to the Post Office. I couldn't figure out why there wasn't any cars, till it hit me everyone had the day off. At least the Post Office did. I almost panicked and then figured I'd take the box in anyway. I was thrilled to find out the box actually fit in the outgoing mail shoot. So, it's mailed.
Then home, which brought me to 3:30 pm. Good thing I put food in the crockpot because by the time I got home and Patrick got home, the foot was cooked and ready to eat.
Once again, it was out the door to bowling. Not my best night but I did save my average. I bowled a 145, 182, 199. We lost all 4 games. Fred practiced on left handed bowling, and I gave him a few pointers. He was doing really well! I was surprised at how quick he picked it up. So, I can at least say I got better as the night went on.
Tomorrow is another day, and I'm going to try to be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!!

Oops, Missed Yesterday.......
Okay, I missed yesterday. So, I guess I better get moving on what happened the last two days.
I started yesterday by going to our Brazilian embroidery meeting. We all had a good time. Chatting as usual. I was working on my rose piece.
I'm working on the petal that is over the work. It took me FOREVER to get the bullion to work. First it was too long, then it was took tight...you get the picture.
After that I went to Dian's to help her mail out her two summer spreads she sold to the same person. She wasn't sure what to do, so I helped her out. Friday we will sell her quilt.
Came home and Bill called to say he had my quilt done. So, I had to go downstairs and get the quilt top done.
Thankfully it was this far along.
So, I added the borders. The red on the red side and the blue on the other. I had it all ready to go to the meeting today.
Which brings me to today. I was ready to go this morning. Called Bill and told him I would meet him at our QOV meeting. Took the quilt top up to exchange for the one he finished. Everyone was surprised to see me and it was good to chat with a few of them.
I took a couple pictures of the panel quilts that the gal on the right did. She has a way of making the panels look awesome. She only does the eagle panels. She really knows how to figure out how to make it work.
Then I came home. It felt good to get back home. I pulled out my QOV paperwork and checked to see what I needed to do for our meeting tomorrow. I was working a excel program to keep track of all the ones in trello. That way I have another backup list. I can be able to look at what I have that way. I got it all done, and then this afternoon I saw that I have another request if not 2. I'll check it out and add it to what I have.
Now I just worked on my to-do list. That's my list for tomorrow. I'm going to 4 different places! I also sat down and worked on some Christmas cards. I have a lot more to do, but it's a start.
I'm still Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!!

Gift Wrapping Today
This morning I enjoyed an hour or two of peace and quiet. The Patrick woke up. lol
We then pulled out the gifts. We bought wrapping paper at Costco along with a few gifts. That means Patrick wanted to have them all wrapped and ready to go. Not sure what the hurry was, since we are not having a tree. With Sophie only about 3 years old and wild, it wouldn't be too smart to have a tree up. She'd be in and around it, like no ones business. We wanted to get dad and Katt's gifts wrapped to be mailed in the next week or so. I still have to try and get Katt's black and white quilt done.
Then we went to Dan's mom's place. They are cleaning it out and getting ready for a huge garage sale. They want to have the house on the market and the garage sale at the same time for an open house. We went to check out the sewing table his grandfather made. They offered it to me, because I quilt. His mom did a lot of stuff like I do. They had all the sewing stuff in boxes, and I really didn't want to go through all those boxes. I did pick up a case that I was hoping would work for my feather weight sewing machine but it wasn't wide enough. I'll use that for when I go to retreats. It has rollers and that will be great. I will see if any of my boxes go in it, and if so, then I'll be able to organize it better. As for the counter, it's perfect. We decided I would take it, and when Dan is there again, Patrick will go over and take it apart, to bring it back to the house. He's thinking about taking the counter I have now and putting that in the garage. When we do that, we will clear out the sewing room, and most of downstairs, so we can get new carpet in the basement. I'm okay with that. I will be going through all my stuff and getting it more organized. I like the cabinet that Dan's grandfather made, it has a lot of draws that are the right size. It will work great. There are some open shelves in the middle too. I can fill those up with books. I might even put my unfinished quilts in there too. It will be fun to see what I can do with it. The counter is the perfect height.
Came back home to watch the SEAHAWKS WIN! While they were playing I sewed the quilt top together. It's not the best, but it will do. I've seen worse, and I wouldn't have done worse! I have a couple points that are not so much, but the rolls worked.
The blocks are all done. I added a 1.5" border of white. The next border is going to be a 5.5 piece that will have blue on 2 borders and red on the other 2 borders. Then it will be done. I'm hoping it's laying right. I'm almost questioning it lately. At least I could get these blocks done. I won't be doing this one again. It's one of those blocks that if you do them, you need to do them all in the same day before putting them into a quilt. If you go a day or two and come back to work on it, it doesn't work like it did the first day you worked on it. They are not perfect. This is not a perfect quilt, nor is it a bad quilt. It's a quilt that could have been done better but acceptable as it is.
I talked to Hildi and told her if she puts her friends name in for the quilt, we can give him a quilt in January. So, we have three people that will be getting a quilt. The one she submitted is one that got lost in the system. It's a request that was a year or more old. So, this way he can get his quilt.
Then it was time to go to Walmart to pick up a few things. We picked up a gift for Sophie as well as picking up some peanut butter chips. Safeway didn't have them. It's all for the clusters I'm going to make. It's all done in the crockpot. I will do them either Friday or Saturday, so I can add them to my gifts for bowling on Sunday morning. We didn't get the flea medication or the wash clothes. The wash clothes they had were so thin. AND the flea medication was EXPENSIVE.
Then we went out to eat. Afterwards it was time to go bowling. Of course, I didn't bowl so good. I don't know what it is about Sunday night, but I just can't bowl worth beans! I bowled a 161, 164, and then I bombed with a 149. So, that dropped my average another pin. UGH!! We won 2 games, lost the total pins by only 3 pins!! Both of the teams handicap was the same. So, we had to bowl "scratch" in order to win.....guess I messed that part up!! Didn't even get my average once.

A Day Of Shopping Before Quilting
Today was a day of shopping. Both for groceries and Christmas. We did get a few things done as far as Christmas.
We headed to Costco first. We saw a few people we know. It was funny. Seems like I run into people at Costco that live down here. It's really funny. I hardly ever see anyone and when I go to Costco, there they are.
We then stopped at Safeway and got what we needed. Came home and got everything put away. Then it was 3:30 pm! Patrick fell asleep in the chair, so we didn't eat till later.
Once all that was done.
I was able to get the short side of the quilt done, now going around the corner. I still need to going around the quilt again, but for now this is a start.
Then - of course - my frame screw was stripped. Patrick went out and got me another piece for it. We will be making a trip to the store tomorrow to get a better screw set for it. Never fails. So, I'm slowly getting there. At this rate, I need to pray I find another screw set that works or I'll have to get another frame.....not liking the idea.
So, it's been fun being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Friday....What Is There To Say..........
As I sit here, I can't come up with what today was. I usually have a good idea of what I'm going to say for the day....Nope, not today.
So, I'll work on what today was like......me being lazy till around around 11 am. Then I got moving....not saying much for me.
I took the two quilts to Ethel. She is going to do the bindings on the two quilts. Once I get them back, I will wash them and take a photo before taking them to the museum to wait till they are given out. I'm really happy with the way they came out.
After that, I was off to Dian's to help her out. I'm so happy that she's starting to get back into quilting!! She's been away from quilting for so long. After Willie died, she lost all interest in anything. She's been getting back into being herself again. I'm so thrilled she's going to start quilting again. She's going to work on her own stuff. I was happy to help her take the quilt off and get it ready for her to clean the machine. Once that is done she will can get moving. I showed her how to get her gmail going on her phone.
Came home to Sophie giving me a hard time for being gone all day. She didn't like me cooking, because she wanted the attention she didn't get today.
I received another request for a quilt. So, I'm getting more requests. This one is one of Faye's friends and we will do her in January. I will check with Jim about getting his friend to the museum in January to be presented as well.
The black and white area is now done!! I'm now working on quilting the border. I'm going to do 4 needles at a time going around the quilt. Then I'll do them again till I get it done. I'm hoping it will go quickly. I can't complain, as it's easy enough to do. I'm just thrilled the black and white part is done. If I can finish the quilt, then I can get back to my cross stitching at night. I do the quilt tops during the day. I have another top that needs to be finished as far as quilting goes, so if I can get my SAL done, I can finish that quilt.
Life is going, I'm still very emotional when it comes to talking about dad or thinking of giving dad's military worker a quilt. I'm having a hard time with it, but I'm going to try.

Off And Running
Today was another one of those days - don't PLAN!!
I was off to moms house to be there for the maid. I arrived early and went to get mail. Sherry arrived and I thought she would be only about an hour or two. So, I called mom and did a few things for her while she was on the phone. After that, I played some of her games on pogo. Then I looked at my watch and two hours has already gone. I needed to go to Sharon's to get my quilts! I didn't think I would be that late. At first I thought I would be there at noon. NOPE, that time went by. It was 1:00 pm before I could leave.
Once I was on the road - eating the snacks in the car that are there for when I can't get lunch! I finally made it to Sharon's. Bill showed me his quilts. I got the three that where ours, and I liked the pattern he used on another one. It turned out great - but I didn't get photos, will do that tomorrow.
While I was there I was checking with Sharon on the beading patterns and kits. She told me one of the websites disappeared. We went online to check a few to see if they were still there. I'm going to check those out.
On my way home, I stopped at Whalen Quilt Works to drop off Susy's quilt. She wanted to do the binding. I need to call Ethel to see if she wants to do the binding on my 2 quilts.
Finally, got home at 4 p.m. I really haven't felt like doing much today after getting home. I will work on the quilt downstairs - tomorrow.
So, don't have much to say, just been running around all day.....So, looking forward to getting back to being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!!
