This morning I was up and ready to go....sort of. I played a little too much and ended up being at Cherrills a little later than I usually am.
Finally got over there. Then I showed her the "newspaper.com" page. We were trying to find some clipping on her grandfather and son. No such luck. She does a lot of family history as well. She's got her husband's family back a long way, but now she is working on her family.
Came home and got laundry going. Enjoyed the day.
THEN I pulled out my cross stitch to work on......oh, crap, made a mistake.
So, I fixed the ribbon that I stitched wrong! Then I found another area that I was getting off on. Now, I'm back on track. At least she's getting done.
My son designed this for his game page. He sells some of his art work on Dungeons and Dragons game. I love his art! He's so talented.
It was then time to go bowling....not my day for bowling! I bowled a 158, 180, 158....which had me loose a pin!! I took weeks to get it up there, and now it's back down a pin!! We split the games, 2 to 2. Next week our bowling partners will be gone, so we will have our Sunday night partners take their place tomorrow.
Oh, well, if I'm lucky, tomorrow will be a better day! Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!
This is a blog that shows my quilting, Brazilian embroidery, cross stitch, beading and more. It's a daily blog that shows how busy I can be with too many projects and how lazy I can get at times. Even boring at times. It was originally for my children who where miles away. Now, it's just a blog.

Rain, Rain and More Rain
Yep, today was a rainy day, and still is. Then again, I live in WA so that's normal for winter time.
I was up and over go to Cherrills this morning. I had tea with her. Then came home.
Laundry started up. worked on my games, then by lunch time I was stitching.
I was able to get more of the skirt done. I'm liking the way it's coming out. Almost half done. I'm on the verge of being done with the bottom half of this. I don't think there is as much stitching on the top part, so it would be nice if I can get a little closer to finishing this.
By 3 pm I decided to work on some of the newspaper clippings on my family history. I found a few things I didn't know and added another 30 names to my tree. Been working on it since that time. I've found that a LOT of the correspondence and information on family love to say "related to Gen Little." Or that they are a descendant of Gen Little. I need to find more information on Gen Little. He seems to be very well admired. It's either Moses or Ebenezer Little. Now I know where the "Ebon" came in the family.
Now I'm getting ready to do exercises and getting back to stitching. Today was a busy day, but not so much on what to report. I'll keep going and see what tomorrow brings. Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Brazilian Embroidery And Friends
This morning was an early day. Was up and ready to go. Picked Cherrill up and we were off. Stopped at the bank to make a deposit and headed to Brazilian embroidery.
I was surprised to see 5 others were already there by the time we got there. Only 2 others showed up after us.
I worked on the piece that Bev did. This is one of the two she gave me because she didn't want to work on it. I took the flower out and put it back in (the one in the middle). I need to add french knots. The first one I did, didn't cover the leaves, so working with Phyllis, we changed it a little.

When I turned it over, I was shocked! That's not what the back should look like. WoW! Guess I have some work to do to get this to look a lot better!
We learned the detached buttonhole stitch from Phyllis. It was easier than I thought. But then I did learn it at Seminar with Virginia Chapman last year.
We came home, and mom called. She wanted to come over and baste her baby quilt for my great niece. Told her to come on over. They got here and they didn't let the dog down to go to the bathroom. So when she was downstairs with us, she peed on the carpet. I cleaned it up, and after they left I cleaned the carpet with the carpet cleaner.
Mom and I basted this quilt. It's all done and she's home with it now. I bet she'll have it quilted by the end of the week.
Life is good, I'm still thinking about what I want to do next. Still Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Good Day Of Stitching And Bowling
This morning I woke to find Patrick on the couch. Guess I kept him up last night. Teehee
I enjoyed some time to myself before Patrick got up.
We watched some cooking channels and then decided to enjoy a movie that we had on the DVR. We pulled out a Gregory Peck movie about finding gold. I really enjoyed it, but the video of the movie had some weird filming going on.
Patrick's roses are really pretty. They are actually peach color but the red table cloth makes them look yellow.
I got quiet a bit done for this piece. I'm happy with the way it's going, but the floss seems to be running out on me. I may have to go look for it in the DMC stuff I have. I'm getting to the ribbon on the side.
The frustrating part of this piece, is that no matter how many times I check my counting, I can't figure out how I got off on the blue around the dress. Not that it really matters, but I can't figure how my counting is off. It doesn't line up right. I guess I shouldn't worry about it, but it does drive me crazy. No one will figure it out, but I do like to have things close to "perfect" as I can. Trouble is, this one just won't line up right for me. I don't know if I got off when I started it on the bottom or what. I could take it all out and try again, but I really don't want to do that.
After the movie, it was time to go bowling. I bowled pretty good. I got a 209, 165, 190 for a 564 series. That helped e go up a pin. My average is now 171. It's going up!! Maybe I'll caught up to my average on Wednesday. We won 3 games. We lost the 2nd game by about 100 pins and thought we were done for. But then we all picked it back up and pulled it out. Patrick beat me by 4 pins in series. We tied in the second game and I beat him in the first game. Then he went and bowled a 218 to my 190. UGH.
Life is good, and I'm ready for tomorrow at our Brazilian embroidery group. That is going to be a good day of being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Yet Another Saturday Of No Stitching
This morning Patrick and I both slept in - him longer than me. I played on the tablet for awhile while he slept.
When he was up, we got ready and went to the movie "Paddington Bear." Loved the movie!! It was so cute and fun to watch. At first we were in the wrong theater because the gal told us room 2 when it was room 4. We didn't miss anything, just couldn't figure out why they were showing "dark" reviews. The "Red Sparrow" would be a good movie if not for all the violence. I don't like to see everyone getting killed, so that will be a movie I won't see.
After the movie we stopped at Sears in town because of the store closing. The clothes are not really on clearance, but just on sale. I liked a couple things but one didn't fit, so I decided I wasn't going to wait in line for a shirt, that I could get for the same price somewhere else - with a 30% discount it really wasn't on sale. So, we came home.
We hadn't been home 30 mins when my folks came over. We were spending dinner out for Patrick's Birthday meal. We went over to the Rib Eye off I-5. It was pretty good but Patrick didn't get a meal he cared for. The turkey dinner was dry and the potatoes were too thick. So, he really didn't eat much. I had a really good turkey sandwich. Mom had a burger and dad had oysters. He really loved the oysters. So, we all enjoyed it but Patrick. Oh, well.
Came home and played games.
I picked this up for Patrick's Birthday cake. It was really good! Rich but good. It was a three layer cake that I got a Safeway. He was happy with it. Cut him a big piece for work. So, if nothing else, he did like the cake!
So, now I'm trying to get some of the newspaper clippings put in my genealogy. I have a few more to do. I still have a ton I need to do, but will get back to stitching tomorrow.
Starting to have withdrawals from stitching and getting excited to see the fabric and floss I ordered! Can't wait to get started on that. Need to print out the pattern and will do that now.
So, I'm thinking and excited about being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Day With Quilting Friends!
This morning I was up and ready to go. I went to Cherrill's and then got in the car to go moms.
As I was in the car and turned the corner - my cell phone rang. Answered it - Mom - asking if I was coming. Told her on the way, "what do you need?" "Nothing, see you when you get here." UGH
I wanted to stop at Walmart to get some glue sticks before heading to moms. On the way, found out that all the lights in town were out. Got off the freeway and the lights there were out.....drove past Patrick's work, headed to Walmart, and no lights where on ANYWHERE! So, no stopping at Walmart.
Got to moms and everyone was there. Theresa came shortly after me. We had a good time. Bev was talking about how her mother is going to be moving to her sisters.
Mom's dog wanted attention. This dog drives me nuts! Ethel rubbed her belly. She knows I really don't care for her, so she doesn't come around much.
I finished my squirrel. Gave mom both squirrels and the pattern. Now it's a wait and see what she needs next. Bet she will have the tree done by the end of the weekend.
Got a text from Patrick that the "major" power out was from 8:45 am to 11 am. Stopped at Walmart and picked up the glue sticks. Also got some pens as I'm always loosing them.
Got home, got on the computer and worked on my genealogy. Post a few more newsletter articles again. Went through a pile of newspaper clippings to find more family members. I found a few, need to figure out where the others connect to the tree. I've added about 1200 names so far this week. It keeps going and I keep getting "hooked."
Life is good - staying Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Working On My Applique Today
First and Foremost -
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY HUSBAND, PATRICK.
Patrick took the day off. I didn't have to go to Cherrill's today, so we slept in. Then we went to the casino - only because he had some money today from the casino. Funny thing is, he's decided to back off the casino for awhile - let's see how long that lasts. (I'm laughing)
Came home and watched a John Wayne movie! I don't think I saw this one. It was about getting the animals in Africa.
Since mom wants me to get moving on the squirrels, I pulled them out of the baggie I had them in from yesterday.
Then I had to see what each squirrel looked like and go from there. I worked on the first squirrel and wasn't too thrilled about the small pieces that show up.
Had the tale done first, and then added it to the body.
Now the first squirrel is done. I started the second one, and have it's tail done. Then I called it quits. I'll work on it tomorrow at moms.
Then I worked on the checkbook for us and the water system.
After that, I pulled out all those newspaper clippings and started organizing them. I've got a pile for scanning into the family history, unknown articles about places, towns, etc, and a pile of "who the heck are they and where do they come into the family." AND I'm still going through them because I only made a dent in the pile....ugh.
So, now it's time to call it quits, clean up my mess, and wonder where I start tomorrow when I get back home from moms.
Have you ever had to go through newspaper clippings your relatives clipped? Family or "heck if I know?"
Keep it up and stay Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Some Shopping And Quilting.....
This morning I was at Cherrill's early. We chatted for a little bit. Then I was off shopping.
First stop was the quilt shop. It's amazing how my mother seems to know when I'm out and about. She doesn't call when I'm home and doing squat! She calls when I'm at a meeting, going out the door, in the car, or just visiting. Today wasn't any different. As soon as I was half way into town, the cell phone rings. In WA state, if I pick it up, I get a ticket, so I pulled over. Called her right back, and she was stalling. Asked what she needed and she wanted me to come over and see the raccoons she finished for the quilt. Then she asked a LOT of questions like, "Where are you? What are you doing? Oh, are we going out tomorrow?" etc. I told her I would try and stop by.
Got to the quilt shop to see if anyone was signed up for my class.....NOPE. I posted it on IG today and will post it again on FB. So - If your in town and want to learn Brazilian embroidery, come to my class. You'll finish the piece if not get very close to finishing it. It's scheduled for March 7th at 10 am. Check with Whalen Quilt Works in Centralia, WA if you interested. It's a fun class we'll have a lot of fun!
This is the piece I'll be teaching.
After the quilt shop, I went to ShopNKart's grocery store to see if they had good Birthday cakes. I don't know what the person decorating the cakes was thinking! They were dark, and not very appealing. One looked good, but there wasn't a price and I couldn't tell what kind of a cake it was. So, then I went to Dawn's Delectable's and they only had one cake that was peanut butter/chocolate. So, I passed, and headed to moms.
When I got there, they were still eating breakfast. Then we worked on the quilt. The raccoons looked great and we put them on the quilt so she could applique. Not sure why she needed me to help her with that, but think she just wanted me over there. Realized I need to get my squirrel's done. So, figured I had something I have to do by Friday.
Headed to Safeway and picked up Patrick Birthday Cake - all Chocolate. I'll give it to him tomorrow. (It's in the frig downstairs) The came home.
Cherrill called and we went walking. We got a mile in today. So I'm at about 9,000 steps today. *
Ironed and cut out the pieces to work on. I have three colors for them. I'll try to work on them tomorrow. There isn't a lot of pieces so it should go quick. Then I have to get the pattern back to mom as the tree is part of the pattern. She was missing "part A" which is where one of the squirrels is attached.
Then it was off to bowling. I bowled a 160, 200, 218. So, I did better as I went along. We got done early because the team we were to bowl was out sick. Glad they didn't come because I didn't want to add to the cold I already had. Plus not too crazy about the guy we had to bowl against. We won't know if we won till next week, as they will bowl this Friday. Patrick bowled a 602, so he's still got it. We may win them all - if they don't get their averages. It all depends on them getting their averages plus 4-50 pins depending on the game.
Life is busy for me, but I'm still hanging in there and Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

It Was A Quiet Day....
This morning I was on my way to Cherrill's when she called to tell me not to come. It was too rainy and windy to go over. So, I sat down and played on my tablet for a little while.
Then I got up, cleaned the kitchen - not that it wasn't clean already. My kitchen is probably my cleanest place in my house. I picked up a few things as well. Then I wanted to get moving on my family history - yeah! I know, I said I was going to take the day off of history! NOPE, that didn't last long.
I added more to my history - Mary Perkins! She was the one that was accused in the witch trials. I got her husband and her family filled in. I couldn't believe she came all the way over here to be accused of being a witch. She was born in England! She was one of the lucky ones - she didn't get executed because they stopped that after she was accused. AND actually Patrick's grandfather was the last to be executed in the witch trials. Once he was executed they changed the laws. It's interesting to see I have one in the witch trials and he has one in the witch trials - so far. I'm still working on those families.
Okay, then I decided to cut up my bread I baked the other day. I cut it into small pieces and baked them in the oven. Made croutons - which Patrick loves to eat.
Then I was just getting ready to watch TV and do my cross stitch - when Patrick called - Yep, he was coming home. I double checked it when he said he was on his way home - YEP, heard him right.
So, I got a "Murdock Mystery" show in before he got home.
I was hoping I could show what I want to say by an arrow, but can't figure out how I can do that! I'll work on it.
Anyway, in the right hand side where the blue is, I had to rip it out and redo it. I'm off about 1 stitch and for the life of me can't figure out how I did that! I also got more stitches in on the dress. I'm going to try and fill in a couple places that are missing a stitch. It's pretty easy to see where that is - since two of them is in the white area.
It's going along pretty good. If I could just sit down and work on it, I could get it done. I'm not sure why I can't seem to get myself to sit and work on it. At least I'm working on it today.
Patrick came home with ideas for our vacation. He wants to talk to Katt about them. So, we're waiting on her to call back. Chances are she won't call till tomorrow.
Today was a good day, a quiet day, and an enjoyable day! I love it when I can enjoy a day like today.
Do you like to have a day to yourself? Is it rare or do you get more time then you need?
Keep working on your projects and stay Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

The Day Went Quicker Than I Would Have Liked
This morning I didn't wake up till 8:30 am. I was shocked! I usually get up by 8 am so I can go to Cherrill's. Called and told her I would be coming later.
Went to see Cherrill, We chatted awhile. She told me that she needed a therapist that could help with her Lympnods (sp) in her leg. She has to get someone Certified and there aren't any here in this area. She will have to go to Olympia if she can't find someone, and she was thinking of getting me to take her up there......ugh....I told her I'd check with the therapist that I go to. I called him and asked about a therapist around here. He told me to check with the outpatient therapy at the hospital. She called and NOPE, they left to Olympia!! Now I'm worried about her asking me to take her up to Olympia two or three times a week. I don't have time to do that! Actually, I do, but I don't want to. I really, really don't want to.
I did my flosstube today. It's nothing special. I don't like the resolution. I'll have to get with Phillip and see what I can do to fix it and do a better job next time.
Then I got on the genealogy again. I printed out the pages that I fixed on my "Pedigree chart" for both Patrick and mine. I had to print a LOT on his because I've been getting a lot of information on his family.
I was able to get a few more stitches in today. Hoping to get a few more before bed time. I really wanted to get moving on this today.....then genealogy got in the way....I need to just let that history take a break! There is something about genealogy that excites me. I find family and it's a game. I love it.
May we all be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

It Was A Good Day To Relax and Stitch
This morning Patrick got a call at 6 am. He was out the door and didn't get back till around 10 am. Poor guy was busy at work. All because of the storm that came in over the night.
While he was gone, I slept for another hour and then got up. Played for a few minutes, got laundry going, and emptied the dishwasher. I was working on my ancestry email. I decided to organize the emails. I had 17 pages worth, and got it down to 14 pages, before calling it quits. I did get some information on one of Patrick's ancestors brother. He's part of the Mormons. There is a very interesting story about him. Wish there was as much about his sister, who is Patrick ancestor.
We had lunch and then sat down to watch a movie. We were watching one of the old "Sherlock Holmes" movies. It was really good! I love those old movies!
While the movie was going, I was working on my "Patriotic Angel." It's coming along pretty good and I was happy working on it today. Not like yesterday. I had a good time working on it. I was able to fix a couple mistakes. Then as I was working on it, realized I'm about 10 stitches too high on the fabric, and hoping it's not going to be a problem later. It's a wait and see what happens kinda thing.
Then it was time for bowling. Patrick bowled a 699, just shy of a 700 series! I was hoping, but this gives him another goal to aim for. I bowled a 173, 218 (tied with Patrick that game), and a 193. I got a 583 series. I really wanted to try for the 600 series but wasn't that lucky. It's my luck for a Sunday. At least my average went up from 169 to 170. That's good. I'm still 7 pins off from my Wednesday league average.
Life is good, and we're doing great so far. Best part is, I'm still getting my stuff done. How has your day been? Get anything finished?
Hopefully we all can get a few things finished and continue to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Enjoying A Saturday......
I didn't get much sleep last night. Oh, well.
Was up early and playing a few games. The we got ready and headed to the casino. We were able to play for quiet a while. The only disappointing part was the "promo" money we were supposed to get. Patrick lost his "promo" money when a machine wouldn't work. So, we went to the counter and was told that someone would come and help us get the "promo" money. After an hour, we gave up and went home.
We stopped off at Safeway one the way home.
I'm feeling a little better, but then I'm not feeling 100%. Tomorrow is bowling, so we will see how that goes.
I did get some work on my cross stitch. Then I got on the computer and was working on my genealogy. I uploaded my DNA tests to a couple sites to see what would come out of it.
So, really don't have much to report - but today I'm still Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Quilting Yesterday - Cross Stitch Today!
This morning I didn't feel any better than I did yesterday, actually a little worse for wear. I stayed in bed for awhile and played a couple games before getting up.
Once I was up, I watched TV and worked on my cross stitch.
Even though I'm not happy with this piece, I need to finish it. So, I worked on it some more. I'm getting there, but the stitches are not as "perfect" as I would like. I've found myself having trouble with the holes. I'm not using a magnifier on this, natural light works great. I have done some ripping out. I just hope the floss doesn't run out with some of the ripping out I've done. The photo of this looks good, but the more I work on it, the more I wonder.
I have a couple more pieces that I could be working on as well. I want to work on the family tree one, that was started a long time ago. I may do that yet.
Katt's quilt was put on hold today. Not sure why, when I think of how warm I could have been under that piece. I think I'm going to go get the hoop and use that instead of the bars. I can't seem to get it tight enough for me.
I've been behaving and not doing much at all today. I may call it a night early at this rate. My eyes are swollen and I noticed my eye sight isn't very good today - even with my glasses.
I can't complain - I'm still enjoying what I do. I'm not stopped by this cold. I'm going to keep working!
Tomorrow is another day....what will it be?!.......oh, yeah, forgot, it's Saturday.....which means it depends on what Patrick has in mind..usually the casino. So, who knows what tomorrow will bring, but I'm ready to deal with it.
Life is good, life is unpredictable, and Life is being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Finally Caught The Cold!
Today started out on the couch and then back to bed when Patrick left. Phone rang at 8:20 am. That was my parents asking about seeing my Uncle when he comes to the area. So, we chatted about that. Then I laid my head down again, and the phone rang one more time. This time it was Cherrill and we agreed I wouldn't help her till Monday, giving me time to get rid of this cold.
What a morning and I really haven't done anything. Ruth showed up! I completely forgot she was coming today, and she was here. We chatted and got caught up on her new place. Can't wait to go see it!
When she left, I still felt like crap - at least I don't LOOK like crap! My eyes are itchy, my noise can't make up it's mind, and my head is half way there. The phone has been ringing more then usual, but I was okay with that. Glad I didn't arrange to meet with Dale today. Don't really want to share this with him. Felt bad for turning him down.
I worked on Patrick's family history. That got carried away and took all afternoon. I kept telling myself I would go get the quilt and work on it, but then I would find yet another family member.
Patrick got home and the first thing he started working on was the printer. It took a couple hours to get it hooked up and working on my computer. So, I didn't have my computer for awhile.

While he was doing this,
I was watching the show with William Shatner, Henry Winkler, and the others. I enjoyed that, and at least got a few stitches in on my quilt. I got quite a bit done. That made me feel better that I got something done.
Now I just need to get my code for the McAfee so I can get rid of it telling me I'm on a trial.
I'll figure this computer out yet! Have you ever had to re-figure everything out? Did it work for you?
Stay at it and be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

A Week And A Half Overdue!!
Today I was sleeping in. Have a cold coming on and wasn't in the mood to get up on time. Called Cherrill and told her I didn't want to share my cold. Then I decided I needed to get moving.
Walked into the living room and had that "ugh" feeling. You know, that feeling of, "this place looks like crap!" Piles of stuff on the coffee table, piles on the table, and the floor looks like it's growing dirt. It has been a week and a half since I did any cleaning.....just haven't been home.
Looking was not all I did! I pulled the rugs out of the kitchen, swept and mopped. What else could I do?! That floor was dirty, but not near as dirty as I was expecting. The rugs got vacuumed and put back. The the carpet was vacuumed. YEAH! The house was looking better! I put MY piles away. Almost that is! I didn't get the pile on my counter cleaned downstairs.
Then I baked Patrick his mom's cake. I was busy cooking and laundry.
By the time I was done, I pulled out the computer and worked on my genealogy. I found more members of Patrick's family. I ended up deleting his family history and reloading it. The worst part was that I lost 20 family members. Not sure who they are, but I'm sure I'll find them again. I worked on my "LITTLE" family. They go back to the Mayflower.
Then it was time to go bowling. I bowled a 532 series - I think. I accidentally wrote Denise's scores in my phone, so next week I'll have to see the secretary to see what I actually bowled. We won all 4 games. Fred on our team bowled a 279. He was headed for a 300 but in the 8th frame he got a 9 - spare. But the rest was strikes. Shame he missed out.
Tomorrow is another day. I need to make some pot holders as the ones we have need to be replaced! So, chances are, tomorrow I will make a few and throw out the old ones.
That still leave me Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Had A Scare Today...All's Well NOW
Today was my day to take Art to the Casino. I arrived at his place and his car was broke, so we took mine - no big deal. We were there about 3 hours. It was almost time to meet Art for lunch....till I realized my wallet and phone were missing. OH CRAP!! So, I went to security at Red Wing Casino. The poor guy was new on the job. So he said he could take my information and get back to me. Nope, that wasn't good enough. So, I went to the security person by the Cafe. I asked if he could see about checking the video's to see if they could find where I left my phone. A few minutes later, a gal came and walked with me to the machines I was on. She took down the numbers and took me back to the security guard at the Cafe. He was talking to the security on his mike. Said it will take time. Then another gal came to change places with him and she asked if I had checked the stations, called my phone, etc. I told her yes, I did all that and the other guy called my phone after I tried 2 times. Then she said if I leave to make sure I let them know how to contact me. I told her I wasn't going anywhere because I live in Chehalis and I need my drivers license to get home. I called Patrick and told him what was up - wasn't happy with me....
I waited and waited. They kept telling me they didn't know how long it would be. So, I told the gal I would get lunch and come back, so if she needed me, I would be in the Cafe. She said that would be fine. I got a hamburger and fries, but couldn't eat it. I only had half the burger and not even 5 fries. Told Art I would go check to see what was going on. When I went back, and asked if she heard anything, she said, "No, not yet. Wait a sec." The phone rang and she said, "Ok, yea she's right hear. Okay, I'll tell her." Then she turned to me and said, what ever you do, press charges. I then asked if they found someone with my stuff. She said yes, and to make sure I pressed charges. Just when I started to ask another question, the head security gal came up to me to tell me they were in the process of arresting the person who had my stuff. She asked for a list of everything I had in my wallet. I told her, my phone, debit card, credit card, health cards, Starbucks card and $150 in cash. She informed me that I might not get everything, but I will get some of it back. I said I figured as much. Then she got a call to meet the police at the front door, and I was to follow. Before we went she asked what I wanted to do, and I said I wanted to file charges against the person. Apparently, I walked off leaving my wallet behind, he picked it up and went to the bathroom. When he came out, he played on the games. Then went across the street. They were in the process of picking him up when it crossed the street to come back.
We arrived at the front door. Shortly there after, they were bringing him to the security room. The security guard told me not to say a word and not make a face at him. I said, "No problem." They took him into the security room that was between the two doors at the front, so he didn't go past me at all. Then the police brought out my wallet and asked it that was mine. I said, "Yes, Thank You!" He then told me to check to make sure everything was there, I found my cards, driver's license and no money. I told him the money is gone, and I checked to see if my phone would work. NOPE! I couldn't get my phone to work, so I pulled it out of the case and the battery was gone! I asked about the sym card and he thought it was in there. Said he would be right back. About 2 minutes later he came out with the battery and sym card!! He told me the guy had that in his pocket. (Which explained why Patrick couldn't track my phone).
He went back in and came back out. Said they searched him and they didn't find anything else on him. I said thank you. He went back into the room and I chatted with the security guard at the door. He was telling me how they come in and get all the 1 cents, 20 cents, etc, tickets that people leave behind and collect them all day long, cash them in and try to win money. They get $200 or more, then they leave and come back in a couple days. They go around looking for purses and wallets all the time. He was telling me how Queen Casino in Tacoma and Lucky Eagle (where we go) are the worst places that security will not do their jobs. They don't work fast enough.
After about 20 minutes, the police officer came out, wrote down the case file and said if I find something else I missed to call and let him know. I asked if I needed to sign anything, and he told me no, they have it all on tape. Apparently they taped his movements and were following him the whole time. I was told I may get a court appearance to state that is my wallet, but he didn't think that would happen. The tape says it all. I thanked him. Told him I wasn't worried about the money that he took, I was more worried about the other stuff he had. I was amazed at how quick they moved. By the time I figured it was missing to the time I was done with them it was 1 1/2 hours. I had $60 on me, that I was playing with. So, at least I had that. I learned a valuable lesson! They will contact me if they need anything. I was told the guy was being charged with Trespassing and Grand Theft. He's going to jail. At first I was told they may not find him, and if they did, it was questionable if he would be charged.
What I found out was that when someone is caught stealing from the casino, they are permanently banded from getting anywhere on the property. Their cards are marked and it goes off that they are in the casino, which gets security to arrest them. Since he was charged with Trespassing, then my charge put the "nail in the coffin" so to speak.
So, after dropping Art off at his place, I went to the bank. Told them what happened and they issued me new cards. I was told that he could have wrote the numbers down or something to the affect, and sometimes it takes a year, but they use them. I said fine, and got my new cards. UGH UGH UGH
I looked at today as a learning experience. I haven't done this since I was in high school. The thought of replacing everything, including my licenses wasn't fun. So, I was thankful he didn't have time to use any of my stuff. Since he took the battery and sim card out of my phone, he knew what he was doing!
I also learned that most people that have the same incident happen to them, they don't press charges. So, they get away with it and go back and do it again. I am shocked that most people today are not honest and don't seem to know right from wrong. I am VERY THANKFUL to Red Wing for being so fast and being able to get the guy! They were very helpful and very polite! Of all places to have it happen, I'm thankful it was there!
So, after being so miserable about what happened. I came home and walked. Then I played a few on the games. I got my lecture from Patrick, which he had all rights to do. I'm going to do things differently next time.
Life is good, I was lucky today. I honestly think I had someone looking over me today. Someone helped me solve the problem and made me learn a lesson for what I was doing. I believe someone out there was watching. I know I'm followed. I'm not the luckiest person in the world, nor do I think I'm lucky. I do believe I have an angel with me. Not around all the time, but in times of need. So, to my guardian angel I say, "Thank you!"
Has anyone else had a similar indecent? How did it come out for you?
Now I need to get myself back to being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!
I waited and waited. They kept telling me they didn't know how long it would be. So, I told the gal I would get lunch and come back, so if she needed me, I would be in the Cafe.

A Day With Embroidery Friends
Today I was up and out the door by 9 am. We had Brazilian embroidery today. There were 6 of us. A couple of others couldn't make it, but we had a good time.
I worked on the EdMar piece that Bev gave me. I was able to finish it. I forgot the pattern to the other piece she gave me. So I didn't get any time on that piece.
I added the blue colot to it. Think it looks better.
Came home and watched TV while playing a few games. Wasn't in the mood to work on anything else.
I almost panicked when I realized Katt's vacation was around the time of our Seminar. Good news, she's here the week before, so I can still go.
Mom and dad came at 3 pm. We went down to Longview for supper. Then came home and played games.
After they left, I wanted to find out what the problem is with my computer. Ask Patrick for help and the next thing I knew he took over. So for the last hour he's been trying to figure out the issue. He bought a program to help fix it. Time will tell.
So, now I'm not feeling great. Hope it's not the cold coming on.
Let's all get back to being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Day of Bowling
This morning I was able to get a few minutes longer at home before heading to the bowling alley. Our travel league was at our bowling center, so I could leave at 10:10 am instead of leaving at 9:15 am.
I was out the door and at the bowling alley in time to bowl. Theresa was a little late at getting to the bowling alley, and didn't get a chance to practice. We did pretty good, but not good enough. I bowled a 191 which got me $5 for having the high game scratch. Then I bowled a 170 and 177.
To my surprise, I actually beat everyone on the team. The good news was that my average went up one pin. I'm happy about that.
Came home and was able to put a few stitching in on my cross stitch.
I'm happy to say I was getting a few stitches in, but the frog arrived today. I was taking out a lot of stitches.
Then we were off again to the bowling alley. I didn't do so good but I did get a 200, 149, 157. I lost it the last two game. Not sure why or how but it just wasn't working for me. I did beat Patrick, so I'm happy about that. He went down a pin and I stayed at the same place I was before bowling. Our partners decided they want to pre-bowl before Super Bowl Sunday because that's the day we bowl those people that said I was "a piece of work." They don't want to bowl them because they don't care for the members of that team. Patrick isn't happy about that. He hates to pre-bowl and usually refuses to pre-bowl. They said they were going to pre-bowl, so that didn't give Patrick a chance to say no. They want to bowl and I do too. I don't care for that team either, so I'm okay with it. Patrick is not. He thinks it's "petty" and we should just get over it and bowl. We don't have to talk to them. I agree, but at the same time, when I do that, I bowl a LOT worse, because I'm so tense around people like that.
Okay life is good, and I'm still working on stuff even when I can't seem to find the time. May we all be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

What A Saturday!
This morning we were both up early today. That meant we would be leaving early. We did.
We spent 3 hours at the casino. We were doing good. Didn't spend as much as we took, but we did spend some money. That' okay because we enjoyed our time.
Then we headed home. We didn't stay very long, as we wanted to go see the movie "Ferdinand" which turned out really good. Before heading to the movie, I saw Cherrill walking, so went out and joined her. We walked twice on the road before Patrick came out and told me we had to leave NOW.
After the movie, it was to Kmart to get a pizza. Patrick had to wait in a long line. We had a $7 coupon, so he tried to use it on a $6 stapler. They told him he had to spend $2 more. That didn't happen, he gave them the coupon. We did get the pizza free though because we had some points on our card. I didn't think we had that much, but hey, I'm okay with that.
Now we're home. Now I need to find something to work on tonight. Guess I'll quilt. I know I have more cross stitch to do, and will pull out the one I haven't touched in years. It's time to get working on quilting, but at the same time, I want to get another cross stitch started. I'm not going to start one till I get at least one more done.
So, while I try to figure out whats next - what are you working on? Hopefully you are still Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Two Weeks Later - I Finally Finished It
Today started out early - nothing new there. Patrick took the day off, so that's something new. Went to Cherrill's and was back in time to get to moms in a good amount of time.
Headed out to moms for quilting. There was 7 of us today. It was good to see Nancy, since she was sick the last time. Judy was there too, and I love seeing her.
I took the quilt mom and I are working on. She asked about it, and wanted me to take it back over. So, I did.
I worked on the rabbit. I added the dark part of the ears, the face and noise. The I realized I missed the tail, so got that ready.
So, I cut out the tail and worked on that as well. I was able to get it put on the rabbit.
So, now he has a tail, but the photo seems to loose the tail. I may have to change that. I guess I'll wait and see what happens later. I brought home some browns for the squirrels and will work on those. Mom is going to work on the tree and leaves. I did have the raccoons ready to work on. The freezer paper is set with the pattern, and mom said she will do that. Knowing her, she'll get them done in no time. She's pretty much finished with the hummingbirds that she's doing for a baby quilt. She just started that a couple weeks ago.
Came back home. I pulled out my cross stitch and wanted to finish the beading. I worked on some last night, since they arrived yesterday. I was thrilled to get my beads!!
This is the right colors -
This is a "flatter" photo, but because I had the red tablecloth under this, it shows through and makes it look red. Not too thrilled about that. I'll get a better photo of this tomorrow. Natural light is a lot better to work with. I just wanted to make sure you could see the finished piece.
I like how she came out. Better than I thought. I did see a couple mistakes that I made, but they weren't so bad that I had to take them out. My dyslexia got in the way, I believe.
Okay, I do have something to say about having dyslexia. I've lived with it all my life. I was teased for having it. People look at me as if I don't have a clue. If I tell someone how to do something they are asking about, they turn to another person for their view. Then they do what the other person says, and dismisses my ideas or thoughts. It's frustrating for me when that happens. It's like being in school and some kids laughing because I answered something wrong. OR they just ignore me. There is nothing more frustrating then being ignored. I'm not stupid, and in reality I may have a better solution then you or someone else. I hate it when I get looked at as if I'm nuts. I can figure out an easier ways of doing things, if one would listen to what I have to say. I just hate it when I'm talked down to....but then that's what has been done all my life. So, please, if you know someone who's dyslexic and they try to explain something to you, let them. Don't dismiss it, don't look at them like they are crazy, and PLEASE don't go to someone who you think knows the answer better than they do. You'd be surprised what we can do.
Sorry, had to say that, it's happened to me more this week, and it's frustrating!
May we all remember to be kind to others and be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Relaxing For The Day
Today I was up and ready to go to Cherrill's. She called and told me not to worry about it, since the weather was pouring rain. I tried to figure out what I would do, so I did laundry and a few other things.
I worked a little on the family history. Then I worked on the the minutes of our meeting from Tuesday. I sent that off to Patrick so he can fix it and get it ready to be mailed out to everyone.
I pulled out the quilt to work on and I watched the "Finding Your Roots" program. I enjoyed the show and got a lot of quilting done.
I'm going for the quickest way to get this quilted for Katt. Otherwise it will be awhile before she gets her quilt. (laughing)
I did have some trouble with tension because the basting was in the way. It's easy to fix by cutting the basting and tightening the tension. So far so good.
I was working on the crossing part of the quilting. It looks like squares but is actually on point. It's coming along. I got more done then I thought I would, since my beads arrived.
The good news is my beads arrived today. I looked up my other order from "The Stitchery" and it's still on the way. They shipped it on the 3rd and it's still not here. Even with FedEx. Go figure. Then Patrick reminded me that the New England states where under snow. Which took a few days to get things moving. Now it's in WY and who knows what's going on there. The website has the message about the CA fires and flood that are stalling orders. Funny part is that it wasn't going through CA that I know of.
Okay, tonight I'm going to try and finish up the beading. Wish me luck.
My neck still feels the "bruising" of my biopsy. So, I'm glad to have taken off the day and relaxed. I have a SAL that I signed up for that is one of the Ink Circle designs. It's being done by the designer of Ink Circles. So, I was trying to decide on a color and see what I had for the piece. I'm going to have to order some fabric for it. It's a big piece. Not sure what I want, but going to try and get an order for that tonight.
Back to being happy with life. Quilting at moms tomorrow. Missed the meeting today.
What has everyone been up to? Looking forward to being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

A Trip To Tacoma And Back
This morning started out early. We were on the road to Tacoma by 8:30 am to be at my appointment at 10:30 am. The traffic wasn't bad, so we made it with 45 mins to spare.
I had an appointment for a Biopsy on my Thyroid. I wasn't too worried. They were able to get me in early. The nurse explained the procedure and my brain was going - UGH. I hate needles. And this was done with needles. It took awhile with the process of getting me ready. They explained the procedure about 3 times and made sure I didn't have any questions. I figure the less I know the better. Then they put the first "numbing" needle in and that hurt! I was tight the whole time. You'd think I was getting my tooth pulled. But nope, I loosened up. Half way through, I felt weird and light headed. So, after the procedure, I had to wait a good 20 minutes before I could get up. I felt weird, but that's normal for me. I used to pass out when needles where used. So, this kinda, didn't surprise me.
We had to good trip back. But I can't bowl today! We got home and I worked on my cross stitch - the bead didn't show up today....UGH!

I worked on this while waiting in Tacoma, and then again when we got home. We watched a James Stewart movie. I really enjoyed it, and couldn't remember seeing it. I thought I had seen all his movies, but guess not.
I'm not real pleased with this piece. I had to rip out some of my work. It's just not looking as good as I would like. It will be interesting to see how much of this I get done. I'm hoping it will work out fine.
We went bowling. We stopped at Sears on the way. I bought a shirt and it didn't cost me anything because I used the money that was on our card. Sears is closing here in town as well as Kmart. I will miss Kmart but then we don't shop much anymore.
Got to the bowling alley and everyone was having fun. There were two teams that didn't show up, guess they pre-bowled. The other team we bowled had one person on "blind" so it balanced my "blind" spot. Patrick bowled a 600 series again. They won three of the four games. We got done fast (I know I keep saying "we" but it's "they" since I couldn't bowl).
So, now I'm hoping after all this, that we can get a few things figured out. I'll be waiting to hear how the biopsy goes.
In the meantime, I'm planning on being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Now I Wait.......
Yep, now I wait. For what you ask? I'm having to wait for the beads to come in. I used up what I had.
My day started out with a headache. Ugh. Can't take anything for it, so was hoping it would go away. It actually did eventually. I didn't let it stop me today.
Went to help Cherrill and came home to work on my laundry as well as my cross stitch. Funny how yesterday I didn't do squat! - but today I was walking and moving all day.
Last night I worked on this piece because I needed a change. There is a piece sticking out that needs to put fixed. The gold stands are hard to work with and they are in a lot of stuff.
I was able to finish this side of the piece. The beads and "crosses" that I missed are done. She's looking awesome!
I love the way the beads look on this piece.
Then it was time to work on this side. I knew I wouldn't get it done, because I don't have another package of beads yet.
So, I was able to get this far before they ran out. It's really pretty and sorry one can't see how much the beads really help this piece. I will try and get a better photo tomorrow.
So, I worked on both pieces since last night. I didn't check my genealogy, even though I was itching to check it out. I'll try and get this done so I can get back to the Black and White quilt for Katt. I was going to do it this afternoon when it was cold, but my heart wanted to keep adding the beads instead.
Have any of you worked with beads? How do you put the beads on your piece? I do it with crosses. I love the NYMO floss/thread. It works awesome with applique needles, so didn't have to have bead needles.
We've got a water meeting here in a few, so I'm going to close this and wish everyone a great day. I hope your walking to keep going. Cherrill and I have been getting about 3,000 steps in on walking. It's good for you! Do you walk?
And YES, my headache quit, for a while. It's wanting to start up again. Oh, well. Life is good, and I'm Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Amazing How Time Flies!
Okay, not sure where today went. Still thinking about it, and still not sure how it went so far. But then when I have my nose to the computer, I guess time flies a lot faster.
I was put early this morning. Over to Cherrill's early. Had tea with her and her phone rang, so came home. I pulled out my Family Tree book that Patrick printed for me.
THEN TIME went so fast!
I worked on my family history. Found a lot more family out there. Added a couple more names. Oh, it's time to get lunch, so got lunch. Then went back to working on the tree. I looked up to see what time it was, and it was 3 pm! Time to get dinner in. Emptied the dishwasher. Okay, now getting back to that family member that I found. Adding more to the family tree. Adding some very great Aunts and Uncles. Okay, now I need to check out Patrick's family. Looked for Wiltzius', Griener's, Dietritch's, and Koeppler's. Okay, why can't I find them?! I was doing great on my side of the family, nothing on his....ugh.
Looked up again, and it was 4:35 pm and Patrick was coming in the door.....wow! So, was it worth working on the family tree?!? Yeah, but I need more time....more time....more time. It's exciting to see new members of the family coming out.........but not watching the time fly! There is so much I want to do before my ancestry fee expires.....can't get their new special because I'm on a special right now...ugh.
So, here I sit, wondering where the day went. Why didn't I get my cross stitch out and work on it? Why didn't I budget my time? What was I thinking??
Okay, I was thinking I needed to find my family. I'm a military brat, who didn't get to be a part of my grandparents lives. I lived "overseas" 16 years out of 19 years of being a brat. All I ever knew was my parents. My two grandmothers where there, but not often. Grandmother Wineland lived with us for a few years off and on. So, I got to know a very special WOMAN. She never talked about anyone she didn't like, she walked standing up straight, and she did everything a lady would do. If she didn't like someone, she didn't talk about them. Yet, she gave a lot of her own money to a brother she helped raise. She gave him money even when she didn't have it. Yet he had a job and so did his wife. She loved her mother and took care of her. She gave money to her mother who had very little. Minnie True Matheson Reeder was another lady. I visited her a couple times in LaGrande, OR. I was there on her death bed, in 1978. I never got to ask her about her life. I never got to ask where she came from.
All I ever knew about my family was that dad's family came from NY and fought on the English side during the French/American war. They called themselves "Welsh" and that was it. Grandma Taylor told me we were part of President Taylor's family. Couldn't prove that one. We were also told we were Norwegian. That was true. Because Grandmother Taylor was full Norwegian. They came from Canada and ND. That was all I knew. I longed to hear stories about their family.
Mom's family - I heard we were Scottish. We were not only Matheson but Campbell clans. That I know is true. The Wineland's are German. Story about them is that they came as three brothers. One of the brothers had to work for passage. He was the one that moved to PA.
So, with only those stories, I had to find more. I had to see what happened. Then I found my great grandfather, John Wineland has a coin with his face on it. He's also got his face on the court house building in Kansas. This grandfather was an awesome man! He served and was wounded in the Civil War and that didn't stop him.
I also found another great grandfather on dad's side who served and was wounded in the Civil War as well. John Hodge was a soldier and kept re-enlisting! He had to get out because of his injury to his foot. He traveled all the way from OH to WA with his family in toe. I often wonder if he took the wagon train or if he took a train. That will be something I will have to figure out.
So, the more I look into my family history, the more I feel I'm carrying on with them behind me. They are what makes me tick. It is so exciting to find another ancestor and to see what he/she did for a living.
Life is unpredictable, Life is learning from our past. So, today is a day where I wanted to know what my family was like. I'm so surprised that grandmother's family was one that had issues. She married into a family that was well off. No clue how the two got together. What a wonderful life. And then, the time was gone. I didn't get a lot done, but I did get to know more about my family! The joys of family!
So, I'm going to try and get back to being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!
Beading Takes A Little Longer Than I Thought!
Today was a day of sleeping in. Patrick went to the couch because I was snoring too much. Funny because he was snoring almost as much as I was, and coughing. He's got the cold. Lucky us!
We enjoyed the morning by watching the bowling matches on TV. I used to want to be a professional bowler, but never had a sponsor or even know where to go to do it. That was a dream of mine.
While the bowling was on, I worked on my beading. Then we watched an old movie. And I still worked on the beading.
I moved the scroll so that I could get to the bottom of the water area.
I've gotten a lot of beading done. It's working great. I have a few more to do, then I'll get to the other side. It took most of today to get this far. I really didn't think it would take this long, but I'm not too worried about it. Hopefully by this weekend - if not sooner - I will have it done.
After my magnifier's light died, so I switched to working on this. I'm back to my patriotic angel. I really need to get this done as well. May get a couple finishes this year yet!
I'm having a little trouble with having the time to work on stuff, but today was an awesome day of working on it.
Tonight was bowling - we took 4 games.
I bowled a 178, 153, and 199. I actually went up a pin in my average. Still down 10 pins compared to Wednesday night. We bowled one of the best teams tonight so it was a surprise to win all 4. Patrick bowled a 645 series.
Life is good, I'm still working at my crafts. Looking forward to getting a few things done. Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Another Saturday of Being Gone All Day
This morning I was up because my phone dinged at me. It was telling me a package arrived. The funny part was, it arrived yesterday and I didn't get the reminder then. NOPE, got it instead at 6:30 am! Oh, well.
We were off to the casino, which didn't do so good for us. We left the money we took to play with. Plus their money. Anyway, it was fun. Even though it was short lived.
Then it was off to Olympia to go to Cabala's for shoes. Patrick gets his shoes for work. Those are his Birthday gifts. I found some boots that I really liked and was on sale. Normally $89 but I got them for $35. They are a lot warmer and go up the ankle. That will be great one the cold days. I actually took the last shoe they had. It was a display model, but the very last one in size 8. I normally take size 9. But these fit great.
We then stopped at Costco. Then we headed home.
We were home for about an hour. Then decided to head down to Longview for supper. We ended up at Red Lobster. They had some new stuff. I liked what they had. But then I got a sampler plate. It was good too.
Now, we're home and I need to get working on the beads.
I was able to get this far yesterday. I also noticed that I have some more cross stitches to put in as well. I'm going to go ahead and do that before I keep going with beading. There are some white places that are all by themselves that need to be done. I really don't want to trail the floss behind in long strands. So, I'm trying to decide what I will do. Since I was learning how to end the floss from the top, I may try that. The trouble with that is when it gets cut, you can see the threads. I may go against my better judgement and trail the floss in the back.
I ordered my beads, a pattern, and something else. Then realized I'm still waiting on an order I placed in Dec. It was shipped but still hasn't arrived. I need to check on that as well.
I tried to order another 6 months of ancestry (really good deal) but when I tried it wouldn't let me. Think they figure I already have a good deal and they don't want to give me another one. So, I'll wait and see how it goes.
So, all in all, life is good. I'm still learning the ends and outs of this computer, but I'm getting there. I'm thrilled to have my ancestry pages helping me along the way! We're doing good and that's all I can ask for.
I often wonder how many of you go through as much "obstacles" as I do when it comes to quilting or cross stitch. Let me know if you've had busy days as much as I have.
In the meantime, stay Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Even With Things To Do......
Yep, even with things to do today, I still got a few things done. Woo Hoo!
It started out going to Cherrill's and helping her out. Then came home, relaxed for an hour and headed out the door. I had to go to the bank for our water system, then to the doctors to drop off my blood pressure sheet, and then the grocery store.
I wanted to do the bank first, but got on the freeway and forgot where I was going. Usually I hit the freeway to go to moms or Centralia. So, it was "auto pilot" to go toward the freeway. Needed to go to town. So, decided the doctors office would be first. I cancelled my appointment for next week, headed to Starbucks for some Chai Tea, and then back in town to the grocery store and last the bank.
Came home, got on my old computer. After backing up all my family history yesterday (took about 3 hours), I figured I better get the "family tree" on PDF. Sent both to Patrick to print out. Then started off on my family history. But realized I hadn't my FTM program on my computer yet, so loaded up the program on my new computer. I was thrilled to find out I could download the information into the computer program. Made my day. Loaded it up.
While I was loading the program, I pulled out my patriotic angle cross stitch. My magnifying glass was charging, and I wanted to work on something. This is where I started. I didn't get another photo, but then not a lot got done. I can do this one without a frame.
It came to 3 pm and I called Cherrill to go walking. We walked up and down the street 3-4 times. Lost count. We both got our goals because of it. Mine is 7,000 step now, till I get moving more and pump it up to 10,000 where it should be. Her's is 5,000 steps and she made that while we walked.
After supper, I looked over the family tree sheets that Patrick printed for me, and worked on his family. I actually added another name to his tree. (gr grandfather) So, so the tree is growing. I'm adding more each time I go on. I really need to get a printer/scanner so I can get more done on there.
Last night I was getting all these beads on Ambrosia. She's looking good.
Closer look. I almost messed up on the beads at her foot. Now, my evening is going to start adding the beads to the water. I've ordered more beads, so I'm happy to be getting them soon. I'm looking forward to getting them SOON so I can get this done.
Even with things to do, I can still find time to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!
