Busy Week And I'm Not Done Yet!

Today I was up and doing exercises before getting to moms by 8:40 am. I stopped and got a sausage bisque from McD's. Good thing I did because I didn't get lunch.

Took mom over to the dentists to get her tooth pulled. She didn't have the meds she was supposed to take before she got there. They gave them to her and had her wait 30 mins before she could go in. They didn't put her out, so it didn't take long. While I was waiting I got word that Dian Keepers wasn't doing good and it will be days for her. Breaks my heart, the Keepers are like family to me. Loosing Dian is painful. I do know she wasn't doing good ever since Willie past away about 6 years ago. I worked on my embroidery while there. I was able to get some done on both my class pieces.

Took mom to get her meds and we had to wait for about 10 mins in line. Then was told it would take another 30 mins. So, we went out in the car and mom wanted to go to Starbucks. I got ice tea. Still cost $10 + with her drink and mine!! Not going there as much anymore. We went back to Walgreens and had to wait in line for another 20 - 30 mins. UGH!! I texted Patrick and told him I would be able to go with him to his appointment. His appointment was at 12:10 in Olympia. I got mom back to her place and had to help her with her phone. Then Georgie came over for a few minutes and by the time I left it was 1:15 pm. Called Patrick and he was at Rite Aid in town. Shocked him I wasn't home yet! He beat me home by 10 mins.

I finished up with the pastry.

Then it was time to clean up the cabinet. Once I did that, I pulled out my beading project. I took each row at a time and worked it from there.

Thankfully it worked out! I didn't have to take it out. I will add this video to the one I did earlier when I get the chance. I can't do it tomorrow and I can't do it Thursday....UGH.

I now have 3 rows done. I will work row 4 later. I will try and work on the black for the border on the top.

While I was working on the beading, I saw this beautiful sky. Trouble is that I couldn't get a better photo!

Now my day is over. Tomorrow I head over to moms and have PT at 2 pm. Then I need to get certificates done for Thursday. It's going to be another busy day! At least I find time to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Brazilian Embroidery Meeting Day

This morning I was running late. When I finally left to go to the grange, I checked with Sandy to if we were getting coffee/tea. She said Cindy was bringing the tea. I was all for that!

Got to the grange and Cindy gave me a calendar for a Christmas present. I gave her the pen set I got from the cruise. She was happy with that. We worked on our projects.

I worked on the center part. I have the satin stitches to do on the bottom part. Once all that is done, I will do the cast on parts that go up at the top of the yellow. It's getting closer to being done. I will need to work on the butterflies next.

Came home and got my calendar filled in. Then I wanted to do a few more things, but Patrick wanted to watch "Willow" on Netflix. He's been a pain for a week over that. So, I didn't get to work on anything. My mind was on the other stuff I wanted to do. Didn't get me very far!

Tomorrow I'm taking mom to get her tooth taken out. That will be an hour and a half - at least - waiting on her. I will take my beading and my embroidery with me. Will see what I end up working on. It won't be the bigger project, it will be the ornaments projects.

Not quiet as happy being busy today. At least Patrick can't say I didn't sit with him on that show. I'm just happy I was Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Beading And Bowling

This morning I was working on a few things before I decided to work on  my pastry. I've been setting the alarm every 30 mins to fold and roll out the pastry. This one is better than the last one I did. I'm not going to make them into anything yet because we didn't have the time today. I will work on it tomorrow night.

Then I decided to set up my camera holder. I decided to try a video on starting peyote beading. This one is the one for Sophie. I wanted to show how to get started. Trouble is, as I was getting to the end of the video, I was off. My first, second and third rows were not working out. So, I'm taking it apart and reworking it. I ended the video at the end and will do another video when I reach the end.

It's a long one. I was hoping it would work out but I remembered that I had that problem with my other two tapestry beading projects. I will work on it tomorrow after I get home from BE meeting. I don't know if I said, but I resigned from the board. I just can't put the time in to let them know how much I disagree with them. lol Plus with Patrick's health, I need to be around more for him.

We went bowling and I bowled a 161, 165, 178 - which got me another 500 series. I needed that for awhile! I couldn't get a strike for the life of me. The last game - frame 7, 8, & 9 was a strike!! Took all night to get there! Oh, well, at least I can spare when I need to!

Jim gave me some fabric that he got from some gal. Said to see if we could use it and if we couldn't to give it to someone who could. I'm not sure if we can use it, but I will try and see.

Working on my beading and videoing that was fun. But now I need to fix it and get back on track. lol That's what keeps me Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Getting Next Big Beaded Project Ready

This morning I forgot my exercises - just realized that! lol

I enjoyed staying in my PJ's and didn't shower till about 10:30/11 am. I was playing games. Then Patrick went out to get meters read and I decided to work on my beads. I want to get them ready to start on "Sophie's Fireplace" piece I did myself.

I was able to get this much done before we headed out to the "Puss and Boots" movie. It was cute. In the beginning - not so much. They really didn't do the beginning part right. The rest of it was great.

We came back home and while Patrick worked on the computer, I worked on getting all my beads ready for the beading process.

I was able to get every color I need for this project. The colors are great, I just hope it comes out as good as the picture. I have 77 colors. This will be fun! I'm thinking of showing the beginning of it on YouTube. But I want to add a border, so I will have to explain that. I will do the first 5 colors in the border and the last 5 colors in the border color as well. Then after I do about 4 rows, I will go back and add 6 rows of black to the top for the upper border.

Now I'm going to listen to my book and figure out what I want to do next. I may start the ornament and see how far I can go. I ordered beads but my gift card didn't have all the numbers, so I finally found it with the url code. Woo Hoo! Now I should be getting my beads.

Again, didn't do any work, but got ready for 2 projects with beads. That is how I stay Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Working On My Next Beading Ornament

Today I was up and moving around. I started laundry again - which I just realized I need to put in the dryer.

I then took Sophie to the vets. She has a wart on her back, so it's not anything to worry about right now. Plus it's smaller than it was when I called to get the appointment. She was not happy with me! She got a physical while we were there. She tried to stay under the blanket. Plus she didn't talk to me the whole way back - and I stopped at moms for a 5 min visit with quilters.

Came home and she had NOTHING to do with me for a good 2 hours. lol She followed Patrick instead.

I decided to work on my beading chart. I put it in the computer and was able to copy and then change the 2 colors that needed changing on the Angels. When I finished the paperwork before going to the computer, we headed to Safeway to get groceries.

Came home and I worked on my computer to put the information into excel. I was able to get a few lines in. Then we went out to eat. We had Prime Rib sandwiches at Dick's. It was really good. I brought half my sandwich back home.

Then I got back to work. I entered all the word chart into the computer.

I was able to cut the pattern so it would fit into my traveling case. It's about 1/2 a full sheet of paper. That's why I have more than one line for each row. It worked out great. I also copied the Angel pattern to put in the case in case I did something wrong. I can fix the pattern on the computer and reprint if I need to. I'm hoping it's good. I also had to order more beads. Phil and Emily game me a gift certificate for beads. I tried to use it but had some trouble. So, I sent Dawn and email to get it figured out. Good thing we have been good friends on email. lol High Street Beading Company is awesome. Dawn will do anything for her customers. I seem to keep her busy at times. lol

Now that I have all that ready, I'm taking a break. When I keep busy getting ready to bead or quilt, I feel like that is a day of Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Meeting Day!

This morning Patrick was out to golfing. I was enjoying the morning to myself before going to Burger King for a hamburger. Not as good as they used to be. Guess I need to find another place to go.

Our QOV meeting was today. We worked on getting veterans to come to the next meeting or two. It was to show all the members what we do. This way if someone can't do a job, then we have anyone and everyone who can fill in. We went over all the quilts and things that were done. Kristi showed the challenge quilt and another quilt she finished today. It was pretty! The challenge quilts came out awesome. I think we have 6 of the 11 turned in. I need to let everyone know they need to turn them in. We went over all kinds of jobs that we have. I asked everyone to at least think about doing something so that the 3 of use don't end up doing it all.

After the meeting, Connie, Debbie and I went into the storage room and organized the quilts. We have 48 quilts that are ready to be given out. We pulled the quilts that we knew were going to be presented at the next presentation - next week. We got the older quilts and put them on the top of the piles. We have a ton of quilts that need to be given out, just need to get the time and the veterans to do that.

Came home around 4;15 and got supper going. Patrick had to leave for bowling. I took time to play a few games and then I pulled out my next ornament for this year. I'm working on getting the word chart done for it.

That way when I have doctor appointments and such, I can take my small travel case and work on these. It won't take a lot of room and I can put out the beads I will use at the time. I want to be ahead of this years ornaments. I still need to do a Snowman one for Phill and Emily. I will work on that when I get the chance.

My phone "holder" came in today. I can now work on showing how I do my beading and different ways to work on peyote beading. Plus I can do my demos on embroidery and cross stitching as well. I think it will work great. I will try it out when Patrick's off golfing next week.

Tomorrow I have to take Sophie to the vet. I don't know if I will be able to visit with the quilters, but I may stop in to see them anyway. I'm not sure if Sophie will be kept overnight either.

At least my day was busy. I worked on things that will make it easier to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Back To Every Day Life

This week is getting back to normal for me. I had my physical therapy this morning. It was funny! Nancy tried to take my appointment. She was an hour early. So, she went back home and I was able to have my appointment on time.

Afterwards I went to see mom. Gave her a hug. Just as I was leaving she needed help with her audio books on her tablet. I showed her what she needed to do to listen to them. She was in the middle of a book and it went to audio. I was surprised.

Came home after going to the 2 banks. Had to drop of bowling money and get some money for us. Then I headed home.

Patrick had cleaned up the house a bit. The wrapping paper was off the cross stitch pictures. He put the Santa beaded picture away.  The china cabinet was put back to normal. He had put the rest of the Christmas stuff away.

I just tried to enjoy the day. I got back to laundry - which I realize is still in the machines. I think I will leave them and rewash them tomorrow. I worked on the labels again today. 2 more quilts are ready to go to the museum. That makes 10 quilts that I'm taking to the museum tomorrow. I have 4 that need the binding done. I started on one of them today.

This one is done and ready.

I'm thinking of the quilt I need to quilt. I'm thinking of the Hawaiian quilt I need to applique. I'm thinking of the beaded cat I want to do. All these things and I'm thinking of the ornaments that need to be done this year. On top of all that I have QOV quilts to do. So, things for me will be back to normal. My squirrels are running around and it will be interesting to see if I stick with one or follow them all. That's what keeps me Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

What A Day - And Quilts Still Get Done!

This morning Patrick was off to golfing. I wanted to sleep in, but I received a text....reminder....reminder...every 3 minutes. I went through my phone to figure out why I kept getting reminders! I went into my setting and found that my setting was set at every 3 mins. No wonder my phone was driving me crazy the last week!! Now it's off and I won't have to keep hearing it "bing."

Once I finally got up and took care of that, I went to get laundry going. Then it was time to vacuum. Next it was time to start putting stuff away! I was to the point of getting tired of the "clutter." I picked up my Christmas gifts and got the candy put away.

I got this from my daughter! I love this book. That may be my "next" thing to do. I was thinking of ornaments for this year. I have the snowman to do for Phil. But I have 4 other ornaments that will work great for the ornament this year. I just didn't do any beading today. I had other things that need to be done first.

I had to put labels on 3 more quilts as well. So, I was adding labels and fixing the labels that were not done right.

These two quilts here labeled and are ready to go to the museum to give to veterans. I'm looking forward to that!

I will be working on more quilts this week. I have to get the quilts out of the house. I have 8 quilts ready for the museum. Two quilts need labels - I'll do tomorrow. AND 4 quilts need the bindings sewn down. So, after all that, I will need to try and get a quilt top or two done to get back to quilts for QOV. I hope to get another top or 2 done.

At least at this rate QOV quilts are still getting done. Debbie dropped off a quilt for the label. We are moving along. It's getting quilts done that matter. - AND I'm Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Back To Weekly Meetings And Fun

This morning Patrick was out the door before me. I was out shortly after him. I had to stop and drop off the bowling money to the alley. Then I headed to Oakview Grange for our BE meeting. I stopped at the Cup to pick up some drinks for all of us. I got both Sandy's coffee while I picked up a cocoa for me. lol

I gave Sandy V the dresses I borrowed. I also gave Sandy E the dress I bought for her in Columbia. I got the bag for Sandy V on the ship. Cindy wasn't there today, so I didn't give her the pens I bought for her.

I worked on the flower today. Got the center yellow done. I tried to do the cast on, but it didn't come out very well. I'm going to work on it again. I used 2 needles and I should have just stayed with one. I need to do the hanging things. Can't think of what they are called right now. Then I can do the cast ons. Once all that is done, I will get started on the butterflies.

We talked about the virtual classes that are coming up for January to April. I do like the classes but I have my 2 classes that I haven't finished yet, so I need to finish those first before I start thinking of another class. Plus lately I'm wanting to bead.

Came home after stopping at Safeway for some fried chicken. I got an 8 piece but they didn't give me any wings. We got legs instead. Guess that works when Patrick is the one that eat that. I did have one tonight.

After all that, I was trying to decide what I wanted to do. I really want to start my beaded work of Sophie, but decided not to start it yet.

Instead I pulled out the quilts in the back room. I need to see what goes to the museum on Thursday and what I need to sew the binding on. I put 3 labels on quilts, and wrote on 3 other labels that had been done. Six quilts are ready to go to the museum and another 5 are in the process. I think I need to do the binding on those. Debbie is doing the bindings on the sewing machines now. They are coming out pretty good. She's been putting a lot of time in on all steps when it comes to the quilts. I need to get a few more tops done!

This was one of the three quilts I added labels to. I like to take photos so I have a record of them going out of my house. I finished the "Agent Orange" quilt that one of the veterans said he wanted. I didn't promise him a quilt, but Debbie worked so fast that she got the quilt done for him. He's getting his quilt next week.

It was nice to have a full day of being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

FINISHED IN TIME!!

This morning I was working on a few things before I went back to work on the ornament. I'm just thankful I worked on it as much as I did. Getting in time even when I wasn't feeling good!

Okay, first things first, I gained 5 lbs while on the cruise! Then I lost 4 lbs while I wasn't feeling well. Today I gained 3 of those lbs back. Can't win!!

Okay back to work.

I worked the top - taking it out 3 times. It's because I couldn't get it to close up right. Plus I didn't want the beaded area to be past the half way mark. I do believe I am going to do this on any new ones I do. I like the look of them better.

Adding the extra 2 beads between the panels gave more room be able to have them fit around the bulb better. I like how it came out. There is green in the top but not as much as in the tassels. It works.

I wrapped it and took it to Kim at bowling. She loved it. I was glad. She did a lot of work for me. I was trying to get my books right tonight but I just couldn't get my mind wrapped around it. Came home and the bookkeeping worked fine - go figure. I bowled like crap! I started out with a 173 tying with Patrick. Then I bombed. A 143, and a 160. Not my best work. I was actually striking more tonight then I have in a very long time! Oh, well.

At least I have a finish! - That makes my day Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

NEW YEARS EVE!

Since I didn't get home till 11 pm, I decided to write this this morning.

New Years Eve started out with me sleeping in. I had been having trouble sleeping because of my stomach that when I had the best night in 3 weeks, I took it.

Then it was time to clean. Laundry was next. AND oh, yeah, needed a cake for tonight. I backed our poke cake that Patrick loves and put it in 2 pans that were 8x8. Worked out great. Had to get my exercises in as well. Then I was able to sit and work on my beading before we had to leave to Nick and JoAnn's.

Connected all the panels. Then I worked around the connections. I'm still working on the top. So far I like what I'm doing. It's just hard to show it till I can get it on the bulb for one to see.

At this point it was time to go to Nick and Joanns. We took the new game and played it all night. They really liked that game and Nick didn't mind loosing in that as much as the others. He was my partner for awhile and bombed. Then he went with Patrick and they didn't win, but it wasn't as bad as when he played with me.

Today is going to be working on finishing this ornament as it goes to Kim tonight. That SHOULD keep me Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

BACK - From Vacation To Moorea (Tihiti Islands)

Okay, I figure if I do each day, it would be easier than trying to write all four of the days on here. I will also add at the bottom how it...
