Honored A Veteran Today

I got up, took my walk around the neighborhood.  Was able to get 5 laps in before I need to pick Debbie up. We had an appointment with Chip and Sam at 10 am. We stopped first to pick up our drinks.

We arrived to find the museum busy.  We waited on Chip for our meeting.  While we waited, we found out our Recruiter that got missed at our Presentation was there. He is being reassigned to TX. So we took the time and got him presented with a quilt. It was awesome to give him a quilt.  I didn't have my paperwork but we got it done. Jesse filled in for Smiley.

Then we had our meeting with Chip and Sam. They are backing me up with the what's going on with the group. I am not stepping down.  We also put some guidelines down. Then we set up a special meeting with the group.

We finally made it home by noon. Patrick was back from golfing and was working on the computer.  He got a lot done.

For some reason, I wasn't in the mood to do anything but play a couple games. Not in the mood to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Date Night

I actually slept in today. I didn't get up in time to do gates with my team. 10:30 am I was up and in the shower.

Then Patrick wanted his toffee. First things first. Need to do kitty litter and vacuum.  He helped me vacuum by moving the furniture to get the stuff underneath.  Once all that was done, we went into the kitchen and worked on the toffee.

I think it's thick and suggested we make it thinner next time. It was quick and easy. Mom came over and I gave her some fabrics for her table mats. She was going to Sister's for batting.

Then Patrick took me out to eat. We went up past Olympia to Ranch House BBQ.

Patrick had ribs and chicken.

I had pork ribs with a baked potato.  It was really good! We hadn't been there in a year, and this was a joy to go to. Food was awesome!

Came home and got busy working on my potholder. Patrick took half my potholder and got rid of the old ones.

Since he took all the green ones, I decided to take out the new skin of yarn and get started on those.

Even though it was a busy day, it was a good day. Patrick took me out to eat. First time in three years he could enjoy his meal and enjoy eating.  Felt good to have him back. Not sure how long it will last. But I ended up being Happy Crocheting/Happy Quilting!

A Beading Day

This morning Patrick went golfing.  I relaxed and the went walking.  It was a pretty good day to enjoy 7 laps around the neighborhood.  It was cold but I was listening to my books which made it go faster.

After Patrick got home, I decided to watch my shows and bead.

I finished the one and started the other. This is panel two. Once these are done, I have two more to do and then I can put the ornaments together. I am thinking i will just make two this year.

My cousin called today.  We chatted about the Matheson clan. I didn't realize they have a clan still. Alexander Matheson is chieftain and still lives in the Matheson castle.  Found the family history going back to 1590. Really interesting. I will have to tell mom about them.

Today, once I started working on my beading,  I wasn't in the mood to play games.  Instead, I was Happy Beading/Happy Quilting!

Back To Crocheting

Hard to get ready for embroidery.  As I was getting ready, I decided to take my crocheting with me. Before getting there I needed to stop at the post office.  Then met up with Sandy and Gerilyn.

We had a good visit today. Sandy was a little quiet but we got a lot done.

Finished one potholder and after getting home, I finished another one. This is the second one.

I wanted to show my crochet hook that I have had since I was 12 years old, living in Japan.  It's worn but it's my favorite and I use it more than any of my others. Feels good to still be able to use it.

I enjoyed working on these today. My day was Happy Crocheting/Happy Quilting!

Back To Quilting For Now

Tried to sleep in with out much luck.

It pretty much rained all day. I went downstairs to work on my quilt to I was trying to figure out.

This is my design so far. I want to get to 60" x 80" and call it good. I wanted something different in the corners.  I cut triangles out of the left over strips. Then I sewed the triangles together with the blue. I need to do one more block and then I can finish this boarder. I will do the off white on the next boarder. There will be 4 more stars in that boarder.

By 4 pm, I called it done.  Then came up for super. Our virtual meeting with BE was today and I wasn't in the mood to go.

I am going to enjoy the rest of the night. Relaxing is hard to do lately. So, I am going to do that. My hair is coming out in clups lately because of a lot of stress! Ugh

At least I am getting back to making quilts for Veterans.  That's what I call Happy Quilting/ Happy Stitching!

Baking And Beading

Patrick and I slept in. It felt good to sleep in.  It was raining this morning.

We watched a couple of old movies.  I baked Date Bars. They turned out really good.

Then I decided I needed to fix my bracelet.

I fixed the problem and when I was done, realized I made it too big. It doesn't fit now. 🤣 So I will give it to someone who has a bigger wrist than me. Katt's is smaller than me.

I worked on information for our next QOV meeting,  which will end up as special meeting to finger out if we will keep going.  Too much BS going on.

Then I got back to my ornaments.

I got about 25 rows in. This is the second panel. After this 3 more to go.

It was fun being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Yet Another Trip To Olympia

We were up at 6 am and out the door by 6:45 am. My first appointment was at 8 am. We were early  and actually got in early for my next 2 appointments. My breathing test went great. Walking test just as good. Patrick had to leave for his appointment when I was called in to see the doctor.  He said things are going good and he will see me in 6 months. I then walked down  the street to Kaiser. Patrick was already in his appointment.  Told him I would wait by pharmacy.  I didn't wait too long. They decided to cut the chemo down a little.

We then headed to  Costco.  We had to scan his membership in. couldn't believe we spent $300 there and we didn't get any meat. lol

We were home by 1 pm. I went to work on the new Facebook group. Kristi had it started and I add some stuff. We realized she had it as a closed group.  So we made it our group for our members. We will do another o e for everyone to see. That took the afternoon away.

I decided I needed a break. So took the rest of the day off.

I felt like Sophie today. Which made me feel like I didn't want to be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Presentation Day

Patrick was gone when I got up. He went golfing.

I headed to the museum for our presentation.  We had a good turn out with 3 active duty members getting their quilts.  The other active duty gentleman couldn't make it. So we did the guy that was given to Mt Rainier to award. Good thing Cindy was there. She even help present pins to Vietnam Veterans.

The gentleman in the middle knew her friend that is on the MIA list. It was a shock to everyone her telling the story of her friend and finding out they went to boot camp together.  They hugged each other after that.

Came home and did the usual of relaxing after sending out paperwork from today.

It wasn't my day to be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Trying To Get Back To Normal

Patrick went golfing while I walked 7 laps. Then played my game for a bit before going downstairs.

Pulled out the another panel. Decided I wanted to make this one. Mades me think of dad. I found 4 more stars, so I am going to put 3 stars in the corners.  We moved the blue,  off white and gold fabrics around and will do them in a different order. Was thinking I am going to have a hard time if and when I loose Patrick.  He's cancer is coming back every time we think it's working.

I didn't do much today.  Other than bake molasses cookies.

Patrick had half eaten already. 🤣🤣

At least I remembered to do my certificates for tomorrow.  We are doing 6 or 8 veterans.

Am I back to normal? No, don't think so. I am trying.  When I think I am, then bad news hits with Patrick's cancer. So, I keep going each day. Thinking positive.  I need to stay positive and enjoy my time with him as long as I can. And sometimes that means staying Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

A Pretty Good Day

Patrick went golfing and I cleaned the kitchen by putting clean dishes away. Emptied the dishwasher and got laundry going. Walked 6 laps.

Patrick got home and loadep the truck with garage. We drove into town for the dump. Then we went to get the truck washed.

Came home and I worked on my bracelet.  I am almost finished with it.

I put the snaps on, but need more room.

I need to take this out and add a string of beades so the bar will work in the circle.  At this point I will do that tomorrow.  Then it's done.

I enjoyed being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

One Heck Of A Busy Day

Patrick was out the door for golfing when I finally got up. I had my list ready to go. Had breakfast and headed out the door. Since it was Monday,  I was ready for my list of things to do.

Headed out yo the grange, but had olplaces to be before and after.  I went to the bank, Safeway for coffee at Starbucks, post office and old Fullers store for cupcakes. I asked how much a really cute moose dessert was and was told $11 each. I about died! They used to have the best cakes and cupcakes but they were $8 to $25, depending on what one wanted. I bought 6 cupcakes for $8 and they had another $6 at 50% off. So got those 2 and decided I won't be shopping there again. The new owner doubled prices.

Arrived right after Gerilyn. Had her sign the card for Sandy. We gave Sandy a Birthday party.  She brought flowers. I told Sandy I felt so bad because all month I have been thinking it's September.  Even when I stopped at the post office, he stamp my vote today's date because I had September on it. Ugh.

We had a wonderful day. I worked on my Seattle piece.

It's coming along nicely. More to do.

On my way home, stopped at Connie's,  credit union,  Colleen's,  Rite Aid, Phillip's,  and then to get gas.

By the time I got home it was just after 3 pm.

After supper I decided to work on the beaded bracelet.

There are a few mistakes in it, but it's my first one and my letter stickers fell off. It's getting there.

I am just happy to be back to being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Olympia And Back

I enjoyed what little time we had before heading to Olympia by cleaning up around the house and laundry.

We went for Patrick's MRI appointment.  It was quiet because the only things open were the ergant care, blood test, radiology,  and prescriptions.

Back home with the day gone. We had stopped at Safeway for a few things. We even picked up dinner, fried chicken.  It was really good.

I wasn't in the mood for much. Still trying to figure out what I am going to do about a couple of people in my group that want me to step down as leader. If I do, when I don't want to, then they are on their own.

So, I play my games and get lost. While I listen to my books on audio. I cut backing and batting for Connie to deliver tomorrow.  In the meantime,  I enjoy playing games and don't worry about being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

A Rainy Saturday

Woke this morning to rain. I played my game because we had a battle to do.

After that was over, Patrick went to work on the well stuff. While he was gone I vacuumed.  Then I headed into our computer room. Needed to get a few things done.  I have two boxes ready for shipping.  I dried the wrinkles out of the backing fabric I washed. My list for stuff to do on Monday is long.

Then I wanted to get back to my beading.

I was able to get a bit more done. I do like the way this is coming along.

The rain has come and gone all day. A little here and there. It's a good day to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Visit To The Museum

Patrick went golfing. I went with Debbie to check our stack of quilts. We spent the morning going over our quilts, cleaned up our area in the museum and got the pillowcases stacked by white or off white.  We put the raffle stuff together.  It worked out great. We then figured the 2 quilts that the Mossyrock group said they needed. Waiting for her to get back to us.  Picked up 3 quilt tops that were dropped off.

Came home and cut the backing and batting for all three. Debbie took one to quilt. Will get Colleen to do the other two.

After Debbie left I sat and played for a bit before I pulled my beading out.

I wanted to work on the bracelet.  Thinking I was close to doubling the size. Should be interesting when the flower gets done. Thinking the size will be two full flowers.

I am just happy to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Week Of Appointments

This morning it felt good to sleep in and little. I did some cleaning and picking up. Then went walking.

While I was getting my walk in I had to make phone calls to fix a mess with our group.  I believe it's solved but not sure.  Time will tell on this.

Then it was time to head to Olympia for yet another doctor appointment.  This time it was my oncology appointment.  My mammogram was Tuesday and the good news is there wasn't any sign of cancer. Now I am scheduled for another 3 month check up. After that, it should go to every 6 months. I have next year for my next mammogram.  If things keep going this well, I will be thrilled.  Next week is my next pulmonary appointment.  At this rate, I am seriously getting old when I end up with appointments this often! I remember when they were 6 months apart if not longer. Now it seems like every month is a doctors appointment for one reason or another.

Came home, fixed supper.  Patrick went to his district meeting and I played my game. He got home and I ended up going to a zoom meeting with our state coordinator.  That lasted an hour and a half. Then Debbie called to chat about what we talked about.

So I am now beat! I'm so tired of the petty BS. I need a break. Deep breath and think of being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

A Day To Have Fun

Patrick went golfing and I cleaned up. I pulled up my pattern for the kit I bought a while back. Was thinking of getting it started. Applique is calling to me. I printed the first 10 block patterns.

Then Patrick came home. He wanted to go yo the casino.  We drove down to Ilona. It's an hour south. I like that casino better. Since it's that far away, think we will only go occasionally.  We were there a good 4 hours.  We won some and lost it all. 🤣🤣 We go to have fun.

I got my label tags for our QOV flyers. I printed 4 label pages. Then I put 50 on the flyers.  I now have 150 flyers done out of 1000. 🤣 More to come.

So, no, I was not Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Monday Embroidery

This morning Patrick went golfing and I went to embroidery.  I stopped off at the post office to find it closed. I told someone going in and he said, "Oh. Columbus Day." So. I headed to embroidery.

I worked on my Seattle piece. Decided to add color to my Space Needle.  I think it looks better. Still have a lot to do.

Tried to stop at Copy Depot but they were closed as well.  So came on home.

Helped Patrick get some butternut squash in the freezer as well as the berry pie I made. Of course Patrick had 2 pieces at lunch.

I just relaxed after and played games. Life is good.  I finished another potholder as well.

I like how they change depending on how big I make them. That what makes me Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Enjoyed A Play Today

This morning we cleaned the house.

Then I worked on my potholder.  Didn't get very far as we need to head to the play. I had to finish laundry when we got back. First we headed to Phil's, then to Safeway in Centralia.  I wanted the mini croissants. Of course they didn't have any. I will go back to Costco for them. I did get 6, but they are a good $1 a piece. Cheaper at Costco.

We went to the play, "Arsenic and Old Lace." It was awesome! I kept laughing! It was well done. They did have 3 women play a man's role. It was different but because it was so well done, hard to realize at times.

Dropped mom and Nancy off and came home. Felt good to just set and relax. Which means it was another day of not being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Kept Busy today

Was up early today. I was hoping to sleep in, but no such luck. Never fails.  😄

I got busy this morning by working on my potholder and playing games. And laundry. Need to get caught up.

Once I had that done, I worked on 2 pies today. Since I had enough dough for 2, decided to make them.

I walked 6 laps between doing lemon pie and meringue.  The lemon was a little off and runny but I have a couple ideas why. The other is a Merrinberry (sp) pie.

Then I went and sent emails to veterans letting them know we have them.

I went back to finishing another potholder.  That makes my day Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Moving Day

This morning Patrick went golfing and I went to Nancy's after my game play.

It was crowded at Nancy's with 7 of us. I took my crocheting but forgot to take the squash Patrick had ready for me.

I finished one more potholder and started another.  This one is a little small.

Came home,  cleaned up the computer room. Looked up ink stamps for our flyers. Put beads away and logged them in my listing's.

We left for the theater to see " The Wild Robot." Loved it. The theater is getting run down. They didn't have ice for drinks and it's been a year since the dryers worked in the women's bathroom.  Patrick said it wasn't working in the men's room now. They aren't fixing stuff as they break. Makes me think it will close soon at this rate.

Now catching up on my game. But at least today was Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Quilts of Valor Presentation

Today was our presentation day. It went great. We gave 6 quilts out to 6 veterans that are firefighters.  We even had a visitor that is the leader of Mossyrock.  Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to talk to her.

We had one veteran ask that no photos be taken.  We honored his wishes.

Came home and my washer was in and running.  Patrick did 2 loads of laundry.  😅😅

It's actually an updated one of the one we had. I loved my washer. Patrick figured we spent 40 cents a load on the older model.

Like every time we have a presentation,  I take the rest of the day off. Takes a lot out of me. We have another one in 2 weeks.

So, no, I wasn't Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Getting Ready For My New Washer

Patrick went golfing today. I walked 7 laps on my own, listening to my books on tape.  I enjoyed getting lost in my books.

I helped Patrick move the dryer out of the laundry room. It turned out easier than I expected.  The washer is heavy. At least we asked them to take the washer away when they come. We only had to move it for easy access.

The dryer is in the dining room right now.

I played my games today.

Then remembered I needed to get the certificates done for tomorrow.  Got word today that 2 of them couldn't make it tomorrow.  These are volunteer firefighters. We will still have 6.

Had a quilt I needed to finish the label on. At least that helped me to be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Back To Boring

This morning it rained. Patrick worked on the washer and I helped when I could. Then we headed up to Olympia for my doctors appointment which I really didn't need. Went to The Home Depot and bought another washer that will arrive Thursday.  Then came home by 5 pm. Didn't do a thing. Not even tried to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Embroidery And Beading

This morning I was up and enjoying a few minutes playing before going to embroidery.  Sandy and I enjoyed a fun day working on our embroidery.  I worked on my Space Needle part.

O have a few ideas how to improve this. The black darker lines are my embroidery work. The others are my guide lines.

Sandy was braiding the floss. It's supposed to help with the threads getting tangled. I did add few of mine. I think I will do that with my threads as I add them to the taps. I need to remember to bring my iron next time for Sandy.

Stopped at Phillip's.  He got me some utilities to replace the black ones that had fire retardant in them. I gave him some mushrooms that Sandy gave me.

I sautéed them and put them in the freezer for when I need them. These are the best mushrooms!

Then I decided to work on the bracelet.

I found a mistake half way up. I will fix it later.  When I do, I have to be careful and pay attention to the bead colors. Ugh.

It was fun to be back to being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A So- So Day

I was up before Patrick,  but then he was having another bad day. Wonder if he got a cold or something but then he wasn't sniffing or sneezing.  Temperature was normal. He was just not 100%. So most of the day he laid on the couch or slept in the chair off and on. He had football on all day long.

I listened to my books on tape. Finished one and started another.  I played some but worked on my beading. I finished the second panel of the first set of two. Now I am a third done. 🤣

Then I decided I wanted to do the bracelet that I bought the pattern to.

I was a little confused till I realized it's even stitches. One I figured that out, I was good to go. I like the colors I picked from my stash.

While I worried about Patrick,  I was able to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Keeping Busy With Projects

This morning, got 6 laps with Ron around the neighborhood.  I was in two battles with my game between walking.

Patrick wasn't having a good day, so I pretty much worked on my projects.

I was able to get three more potholder done.  They went pretty fast. I was even enjoying my book on tape. I have a total of 12 done so far. Guess they will end up as Christmas gifts. 🤣🤣

After finishing those, I pulled my ornament pieces out.

Got this closer to finishing.  It was hard to see the two bead colors at night. They blended in ready close. I will try and finish this one tomorrow.

A whole day of being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Yet Another Day

Patrick was up early today. They were planning to golfing but the rain got in the way, so they called it off.

Teri texted me the garage was open for ume to do laundry.  Patrick took the container over with 2 loads. I got started. Bringing the clothes back and dry them in my dryer.  Good thing since it was raining pretty hard. Ended up doing 3 loads.

I worked on my potholder.

We went out to eat in Olympia.  I couldn't believe Patrick driving. For the first time he scared the crap out of me!! I asked what was up. He didn't answer much. I told him I was driving us home. You would have thought he was drunk. He had a rough day. Did eat much. I should have called it off since we were talking mom out too.

Came home and worked more on the potholders. That's Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Stayed Home

This morning,  Patrick beat me by getting up before me. He had a list of things to do. I didn't feel like going along. He picked up our clothes from mom. She was sweet enough to do some laundry for us. Then he got gas, so I had to claim it in the app.

I pretty much enjoyed listening to my book and crocheting.

I finished the one from yesterday and finished another.  Then started a third. The 2 cones I ordered came in. Was going to make one from that but decided to just finish these. Amazing how fast this is going since it's been a couple years since I crocheted.

That's what keeps me Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Still Crocheting

This morning Patrick went golfing.  I went walking early with Ron so I could play "gates" in my game. Then I got to work on cleaning around the house.

Once that was done, I sat down to work on my crocheting.

I finished the one from yesterday and completed another one.

Then I started another one. We sat and watched TV while I crocheted. Mom called a couple times. Had to help her too.

At least I was able to enjoy being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Shopping

This morning Patrick went golfing and I enjoyed the morning by myself.  Ron and I walked 5 laps. He offered me his treddle (sp) sewing machine.  When I looked at it, I decided I didn't want it. It has a lot of damage to the cabinet.

Patrick made it home and we had lunch before heading to Olympia.  He had blood tests to do. Then we headed to Costco.

We picked up stuff for mom, Nancy and Phillip. When we dropped off moms stuff, I took some laundry because the washer isn't working STILL. Patrick got the part but it's still not working.  Waiting for the guy to call us back to fix it.

Dropped off Nancy's and Phillip's food and made it back by 4 pm. Turned out yo be a long day.

I worked on my potholder.

I took out my pastry dough and made cherry turnovers.

They turned out good. Still need to work on the flakes part. I am getting better at it. They were really good.

Spending money and cooking makes for Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Tree Lighting Event

Yesterday was one of those days, that when I got home, I went to bed.  It started out with going grocery shopping and stopping to visit wit...
