This morning I was getting started with laundry but only got one load done. lol
I decided to work on getting my cross stitch done. I worked on it for awhile. Then we went out to eat, by going through "drive-thru." We took a hamburger to mom and dropped off a few things for her. She gave me some Safeway ticket. I was able to make enough points to get a $25 gift card. Patrick was saying we'll send that to Katt.
Came home and watched some more movies and shows. It's been a good day of doing cross stitching.
I've been working on getting the top done. I got all the stitches in. Now I'm working on the outlining now. I was able to get some of it done. I have a ton more to work on, but I'm really close. I am looking forward to getting another project done. I need to think about what I want to do next. I may end up doing the Mayflower piece that I have the cross stitch pattern enlarged.
We're still staying home because we have to. We are getting a little tired of having to stay home. That's life. I'm still Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!
This is a blog that shows my quilting, Brazilian embroidery, cross stitch, beading and more. It's a daily blog that shows how busy I can be with too many projects and how lazy I can get at times. Even boring at times. It was originally for my children who where miles away. Now, it's just a blog.

A FINISH
This morning I got moving on getting my beading done. I wanted to finish it since I only needed to do 6 rows of black. It went quicker because I didn't have to count the colors that I add to the piece. All black and that went fast. I did notice that my work got tighter as I went.
While I was beading, Patrick was outside fixing the steps. He worked outside most of the day.
When I went out to talk to Patrick, I found Sophie waiting on me. She can't stand it that I go outside without her. lol
I finished the Wild Birds while he was outside. It turned out great! I'm really happy with the finished product.
Then I cleaned up the table. I got the table all set with my next project - Polar Bear.
I'm all set to work on it. I will get moving on it tomorrow - maybe. Now I want to finish the cross stitch Spring Cat. I'm so close to getting it done!
I worked on the outlining tonight while watching an old movie. I have a lot more to do, but I was glad to get about an hour in on outlining this!
Things are going great when it comes to my projects. I'm Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Day Of Beading
Today I got up and enjoyed a few minutes of playing games.
Then when Patrick went outside to work on finishing up his water pressure job, I decided to bead. (And laundry).
I finished the beading of the actually photo. Now I'm just finishing up the border. I was surprised to find I did 9 rows plus 2 rows of black. It's looking really good. Now I can do the beading at my chair without worrying about all my beads getting mixed up.
I then went through all the beads, and marked them down so I know what I have and how much. It felt good to get all my beads accounted for. Some of them were taken off the list for the Polar Bear - which I wanted to get updated. I will be working on that next. It will go faster. I'm just thrilled I was able to get this done! Not quiet done, but the inside is done. I'll finish it up tomorrow. Then I'll work on the hooks later. I need to work on those so when I need to see Sharon, she'll show me how to hook them in.
Happy to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Things Are Looking UP
Today the news says they are talking about loosing up the "stay at home" requests. I'm not sure if that's smart, but I can use a break from having to stay home all day. I'm a little worried that if they do, then we may have to do this all over again. Not only that, I think people will just start loosing up before they are given the okay. Now that it's out there, I think people are going to ignore the safety and do what they used to.
This morning I got a row of beading done. When I heard Patrick working on his power washer, I went out to see if I could help him. So, for about an hour and a half, I was outside with him. He did some other stuff while I water pressured the area between the house and the garage. That got me so shaky after it wasn't funny!
Try beading with your hands shaking so bad that you shoot beads around. I got it under cover. I was able to get to row 437. It's coming along nicely. I was happy to get as many rows done as I could.
I baked cookies and then decided to work on some family history. I wanted to get some of our family connected in Findagrave. I also wanted to heck out my new update on FWT (Family World Tree). I was able to load my family back on it. Now I have to do that with Patrick's family. I added more family members to my tree while I was at it. I need to add more. I was checking out the loading to the cloud part of the new update. I opened an account, but the more I read, the less I liked. It states they have all the rights to my information. All the work I did on my tree and put into the cloud under their account becomes there information. I don't like that. I put all my money and time into the tree, why would I give them the rights to it?! So, when it asked if I wanted to load it to the cloud, I clicked it off.
Looking forward to getting back to normal. At least I was Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

At Least The Sun Was Out
Today was a quiet day.
Faye texted wanting to know if she could come pick up the backing and batting I cut for her. I asked her to give me an hour and then she could come any time. She came at 11 am. I had that and a few yards of fabric for her. She got the extra fabric from the red bolt. I also gave her some white on white and white on beige fabric. That should keep her busy for awhile. We chatted 6 feet away. I started out with the mask on, but took it off when she stood so far back. It felt good to see her! I've been missing my friends.
Then I decided to work on my beading. I put a row in, ending up taking out 1/3 of the row. It then went good for awhile and then I messed up again. Kept doing a row over twice. Not good. So, after putting 2 rows in, I gave up. I called it quits.
Came to the living room and decided to work on my cross stitch. I almost messed up on that.
I worked on the butterflies. Then I worked on the outlining in some areas. I was taking some out but not as bad as the beading! I am hoping to get this done soon too. I was laughing at Patrick, saying I had 2 things that are really close to being done. Can you believe his comment was, "Guess you need to start 20 more projects then." We both laughed. He knows me well. May do the Mayflower one next. I really do want to do that one. I may even put the family names around the border when it's done. I need to get my floss ready for it.
I couldn't believe I saw an article in the paper about our I-5 Toyota! They are asking the Governor to let them stay open!! Why?!! They are not a business that is necessary! On top of that, they have enough money (Heidi is RICH!) that they can sit it out like all the other businesses! The small business people around here may end up going Bankrupt, and they will still be there. Not right, and should have even be asking the City Council to approve it!! So disappointed with that business right now!
We took a walk and enjoyed the weather. Thank you, sun, for showing up! It felt so good. So, in the end I did have a day of being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Another Day.....Had To Go Shopping
I slept in later than I have in years. Patrick asked me if I was okay. I was. Just couldn't get up. Not sure if that has to do with depression or just being tired. Patrick said I was snoring a little last night. That means and I agree, that my allergies are acting up. UGH
I set up a list of stuff we needed at the store. I was hoping to get more flour but Patrick said they were out. I sat in the car while he went in. He was gone awhile. I watched people coming and going in the shop. Patrick wore the mask I made for him. I only saw one other person wearing a mask. I was shocked. Guess this area doesn't care. He said the distance was good, but no one had a mask on. I found out 1 person died from Lewis County of the Virus and there are 13 confirmed cases. At this rate, it's going to grow into more! Wonder how long it will take. They had a per-session (sp) for the police officer that was killed. It went from Centralia to Adna. We didn't go, didn't know when it was. Wondered if it was while we were out in town because the town was crowded with people. We went to the post office so I could mail out my kit to a gal in Finland. I had my mask on (the only one there), but they had a shield of plastic between them and me. They wore gloves and kept control of the credit card machine. She worked buy wiping down the computer, cc machine, then got my stuff done. Gave her the credit card, then she did the clicking, wiped off my credit card and gave it back to me. That was the cleanest place I've seen yet! It was awesome to see them taking good care of themselves.
We came back home. I got laundry in the wash. Then Patrick brought in the mail. My beads arrived! I was thrilled! Now I can finish my birds!!
Now I have enough of the beads to finish my birds.
That got me to work on my beading.
The good news is that I got 5 rows in. I am now at 430/446. It's coming along nicely. I can't wait to get this done, so I can clean my table! I have so much going on the table, that I need to clean the table cloth. I'm hoping it will be soon. I'm really wanting to clean the table cloth and get some of the crumbs off it. If I put the beads away, it will take awhile to get them set back up. UGH. I can do this!
Now I'm watching a comedy Western movie. Since Xfinity has free movies till the end of the month.
It felt good to get out. I'm getting tired of being home every day, all day. But I know it's for the best. At least our state has behaved, but I'm worried they will mess that up. If we get out before all the Virus is cleared up, then we could start all over again with having to stay home. I just hope the East Coast realizes what they are putting us through. We have to wait on them to get rid of the Virus otherwise someone coming or going from WA will bring it back. Not helping us.
In the meantime, I try to keep up on my mood and am happy to stay Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

The Sun's Coming Out
This morning I was up early thanks to the sun.
I enjoyed a little time to myself. Then when I got going, laundry was on the list to do. I also wanted to get some dessert going.
I started out with beading on ths Polar Bear peyote beading. While I was starting to bead I thought I could get some dessert going. So while the machine was going I heard a thudded sound. Thought maybe my beater dropped. I kept going and Patrick was working on getting my machine fixed. I washed everything and he worked on my mixer. Come to find out, all these years it wasn't set right. He took care of that. So, now it should be better. Too funny!
I made a oatmeal cake. It turned out pretty good. It's from the website. If I remember later, I will put the link in here. It's really good.
I worked on my beading the rest of the afternoon. It's going faster than the birds, but then it's smaller too.
I'm on row 19/220. It's coming along nicely and faster.
As the day goes, I quit and got back to my crossstitching.
I added some outlinand worked on some flowers. If we watch a movie tomorrow then I will try to get closer to fi ishing this.
At least today was a good day to be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Busy Making Masks
Today we were enjoying the morning. Then Patrick suggested we take a walk later today. I agreed. Then I went downstairs to work on a few things.
I ended up cutting backing and batting for QOV quilts - 2 because I was out of red for the 3rd one. Called Sharon and she reminded me that she had a bolt of red that she was holding for me. So, the next time I go up, I'll pick up the red and we'll be back on track. At this rate we will be going through the backing faster than usual. I'm going to have try and get more money from FB again. We are running out. But with the way things are right now, it's not time to ask for money. I don't know what we are going to do.
I got to work on face masks. I wanted to be able to put a "filter" in the mask. So, this one I can, and it's washable.
The big one in the back is Patrick's. I wanted to have a mask that covered him better. I had 2 others and gave them to Sherry today. I gave her the batting to go in the mask for filter.
Once that was done, I did my FlossTube. I showed a lot of my patterns. I still need to figure out what I want to do next.
After all that, I came back up and started working on my beading. I got back to my Polar Bear piece. Luckily I had already done 3 rows. Trouble was, I didn't know I did the 3rd row, so I did it twice. When Patrick asked what row I was on, I realized I was on row 5 but doing row 4. So, took out the 5th and 4th row to get back on track.
I'm on row 6 I think. There are 230 rows, so not as big as the birds. I'm just hoping my beads come in soon. In the meantime I'm working on this one.
Now it's time to call it a day. I'll finish watching the English comedies that Patrick likes and then call it a day.
Stay safe and be Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

I've Had Better Days
Today I was playing games. Then I got to work on my cross stitching.....with Patrick suggesting he needed some more dessert.
Then he suggested pretzels. So, I decided I would do the pretzels. They turned out pretty good, but they aren't "hard" but "soft" pretzels. I did like them. We had them with cheese.
It made 6 pretzels. I think I need to let them raise a little more before I put them in the boiling water.
They cracked great! I do like them. Patrick did the twisting.
Then I went back to working on my cross stitch.
I got the frame work almost done. Then I went to finish up on the bird. I did get some outlining done, but not much. I was getting frustrated with my PILE of floss. I really hate that. As you can see, I put the extra floss on the sides. Not that that helps sometimes.
Then I wanted to listen to my audio book, but Patrick took my tablet to play my casino game. AND watch his shows that I really don't care for. So, I went to get my beading of the Polar Bear. I decided to try and bead on our trays....well I got all the beads out and the next think I knew, I lifted the mat by accident and the beads all blended together. So, the next hour was spent trying to put the beads back where they belong. I then put them back in the tubes and called it done! I have a few beads that I'm not sure where they go, so put that in an empty tube.
I then decided to do my blog...........yeah, no.........my computer went black! I started it again, and nothing. So, I had to wait for it to come up. Patrick looked at it and thinks it's going out. My computer is only about 5 years old!! UGH UGH. He looked it over, then backed up some of my stuff. He's ordered a couple thumb drives and will back the rest of it up. Family history is one that needs to be backed up. AND I have the new updated version, so this is going to be a pain in the butt!! I'm not happy about this.
So, my evening didn't go good. I didn't get to listen to my book, and I didn't get to work on the Polar Bear beading. I'm still waiting on them to mail my beads, so at this rate it will be a week or so before I can finish my beading. I checked on my eBay orders from Russia and China. Both were at customs and haven't been moved since.....that was March 12th. So, again, not my day!
Now, I'm watching my taped movie on Hallmark with Patrick - who really isn't into it. So, now I'm done for the day! I'm going to play games and TRY to RELAX. I'm getting tired of being home all day. I'm getting to the point that I KNOW I need to go downstairs and cut backing and batting for 3 more quilts. I KNOW I need to get back downstairs and finish another quilt top. But in all honesty, I don't want to. I'm not in the mood. Yet, I need to. So, this weekend I will TRY and go downstairs and get some stuff done.
Hopefully I will get back to being Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Governor Says Another Month
This morning I enjoyed being able to sleep in. Sophie woke me at 2 am to get some TLC and she wasn't going anywhere for a good 20 mins or more. She hadn't done that in awhile.
We did our usual morning stuff. Then we watched TV. I worked on my family history getting it updated and working on the "Find A Grave" site to get a few things put together. I also got the photos for Vickie - mom's cousin (or step-cousin). I added a few of those to my tree and then worked on getting them ready to mail. I will mail them out tomorrow or Saturday. I can do that on line.
Patrick was watching his usual when the news went into "special report" and we listened to the Governor who stated that WA state has to go another month - till May 4th - on a stay home request. So, we have another month to be home. I worry about those that lost their jobs, and the small businesses that aren't covered in the incentives. I also worry about more people loosing their jobs, like the city workers and the nurses. It's going to be hard to pay them when there isn't any money coming in. I heard Tukwilla is cutting employees because they don't have any revenue coming in. Then Patrick was that Pullman is cutting their nurses salaries by 20% because of all this. It's really getting hard on everyone. We are lucky in the fact that Patrick is retired, so his wages won't be affected. I quit working a long time ago. We have enough to get by and I really feel for those that can't or that will be without a job when this is all over.
So, I listened to my audio book and beaded to relax me.
As I was beading I realized I was running short of DB1067. So, I had to go online and order more beads. You know how that goes. Even though you only need one set of beads, you might as well order more so you don't have to pay shipping for one small item. I ordered about $43 worth of beads. I checked my Snowman beads to make sure I had enough, and there were a few I didn't. So, I ordered what they had. I need to order 4 more from another website but they are closed due to the Virus going around. I was surprised they didn't keep the online shop open, but they didn't. So, I'm going to have to wait. At least I was able to get to 425/446 rows. I may be able to do one more row before the beads are done. I may just wait till the order comes in. I have the Polar Bear I can work on till the beads come in.
Then after supper I worked on my cross stitching.
Worked on getting the framing done. It's coming along. I also added a few more stitches in the flowers. I want to get as much of the frame done as I can, so I can work on the other stuff. It's coming along nicely. I may get this done before the beading since I have to wait on the beads. Love this!
All in all, life is boring because I can't go see friends. I called moms neighbor to wish her a Happy Birthday - she turned 90 years old. We are doing good. Patrick is going outside to work when the weather lets him. Other than that, I'm beading and he's watching TV. At least I have my head phones and audio books to listen to. Which make my day a day of Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Into Week 3 Of The Virus
Today started out like it has over the last 3 weeks. It's hard to believe it's 3 weeks, because it feels like 5 weeks at times.
I called and talked to mom. We got going on her family. I received a message yesterday from a gal that was looking for more information on her family. It turned out that she was the daughter Orville Matheson (WWII Veteran) wasn't the father of. His wife - while he was at war - had an affair. So, before Orville came back or just after he came back, she let Orville's sister Margie adopt her. I had been trying to figure out where she was and I wanted to figure out which one she was. It turned out Vicki's daughter contacted me. So, mom and I were trying to figure out about her. Then I got the email saying she was Vicki's daughter. That put a LOT of stuff together. She had 2 half sisters, but they have passed already. I don't have much on her mother, but I am working on it. I sent a message to someone who had who I think is her, on findagrave. So, I'm going to try and figure out it. I also did 3 of Orville's letters on my "Letters From the Past" as well as redo the blog.
Then I decided to go and work on my beading. I really was enjoying it today.
The good news is that once I got started, I just wanted to keep going. Then I had to take some out and fix an area where the bead was really loose. But I was still enjoying working on this. My count right now is at 421/446 rows. I'm so close! I can almost taste it! I quit to work on my exercises.
Then I picked up my cross stitching.
I didn't get as much done as I would have liked. I'm working on the boarder and it's coming close to being finished. Then I can get the rest of it done. At this rate I might get them both done at the same time. Maybe, maybe not. We will see. I haven't figured out what I want to do next. I really need to think about it.
In the meantime, we are home and enjoying being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!
