Had QOV Meeting Today

Today was a busy day, some of it planned, some not. It just ended up a lot busier than I was hoping for.

First thing this morning was a trip to the bank and  post office. I had to check on shipping to the UK. Hard to believe it's $69-73 to mail a package, but it does.

Then it was time to pick up a drink on the way to Olympia for our QOV meeting. I arrived early so I could chat with Bill about doing quilts for our group - that we are getting going. He said he would. I talked with Linda on what we needed to do and how to get there. We sat and talked to a couple other to get information on the ones that requested a quilt in our area. They gave us 5 request from Longview/Kelso area. We got flyers and business cards that Faye paid for, and no longer using. I talked with a couple other people on how we get requests. Ruby Street Quilt Works QOV has offered to help us for 6 months. That should get us started. That was a big relief!

On the way home, I called mom and she wanted me to stop by on my way home. I did. It ended up being a 2 hours stop. We were working on some stuff that had to do with dad, when a neighbor stopped in and was there an hour. I finally got out of there at 3:30 pm. Decided not to go to Staples till tomorrow for a thumb drive to put all the QOV information in. As I was getting out of the car, Patrick drove up. Good thing I did a pot roast in the cock pot!

I then contacted the 4 people who made a request to let them know it's in the works. Then I checked our email and found out we are official - Veteran's Memorial Museum Quilts of Valor. Mouth full, but we are good to go. Now I'm working fast to get our labels made so we can start presenting quilts. I also need to get my two quilt tops done and ready to go to Bill. If I can get all this by next month, we can then get moving on getting quilts presented. Need those labels! Phil sent me what he has and then when I get it approved we will get them printed. I can't wait!!

Then I realized, even after being all over the place today, I didn't get my 5,000 steps in. So, I took a walk after supper. Now I'm coming down from my "high" and will get things ready for tomorrow. We have our first meeting tomorrow.

So, today, was way busier than I ever expected. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.
