More Cleaning Than Anything Else

This morning I was up and moving around. I went downstairs to see if I had any fabric left from the quilt I did yesterday. I did remember I was out of the blue and thought I had some red I could use. I wanted to be sure to have enough for a binding as well. My off white was down to a 6 1/2" strip. I decided to add another white to it and fold it over - showing most of the white I used on the quilt. I cut a small strip of the red to use as a decoration between the top and bottom of the pillow. I went and pulled some blue that would work with the color I used. I cut that in half and will make another pillow case out of that next time as well. After checking to see if I could do all that, I came upstairs and got the laundry going. I also worked on the dishwasher.

I got some sour dough bread going. I'm still folding it till I go to bed. Then I'll fold it one more time tomorrow and have it ready to bake. The longer I mess with it, the more sour it gets. I like the smell of sour dough.

Then I had to get some bookkeeping done. Paid a bill and got a deposit ready for tomorrow. Texted Connie to see if she is home tomorrow. I will drop off a quilt top and then pick up 3. I will end up taking 4 of them to mom and Nancy to put the binding on.

After all that, I went downstairs and put the pillow case together. I sewed it up and found I did it backward because the seam of the two whites was on the front of the pillow case. I ripped it all out and put it back together. Then I sewed the seams and called it a done day. I pull out another panel and fabric that will go with it. I have ideas but wanted to check out Pinterest to see what designs are out there. I picked 2 that would be fun to do. So, I ordered 5" and 6" half square triangles paper to get started on them. I will have it tomorrow and then I can work on it. I'm hoping I can get one done this week.

Back to getting laundry going. Called it a day and was thankful to be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

A Day Of Quilting And Cross Stitching

Today I was up after Patrick. Guess I was snoring last night. lol Worked on my exercises and then played a few games.

Then I decided to head downstairs and try to get another top done. I started out with cutting the fabrics for the strips. Then went to work on getting this done.

I guess I got too excited about getting this far! Then I looked at the photo and said, "Oh, Sh*t!" I sent the photo to Debbie and she asked what the "oops" was for. Told her to look right. Then got a laughing face on my text.

Fixed the problem and then put the blue border on it. Now I have one more done! It went fast and I was thrilled to have one more done!

Came up and after supper I decided to work on my cross stitch while we watched an old movie with George Kennedy and Dean Martin. "Airport" was movie I saw when I was a teenager and some of this was coming back. Love the movie!!

I was able to get another 200 stitches if not more done. I filled in a couple places. Love this piece too.

Got my beads today. I love my monthly gift!

Today was a good day to have fun and be Happy Quilting/Happy Stitching!

Every Other Friday - Carmen's Birthday

This morning I was up at 5:45 am to be out the door by 6:30 am. We had a presentation to do with the Twin Cities Rotary Club. It was fun to see what they do. We - Debbie, Connie and I - were there early and trying to figure out where we were meeting. It was comical. They were very nice. We gave our speech and answered a lot of questions. Then they passed the bucket. We got a good amount of money for QOV. We are looking good now. I'm not sweating worrying over where I get the money to pay for things.

Afterwards we went to "Hashes" in Centralia for breakfast. I had a hard time trying to decide what to eat. I didn't want egg.

I ordered a "Gaint Cinnamon Bun" that was 10 times bigger than I thought it would be!! I barely eat it! I took it to moms (after I stopped to get a Birthday Cake for Carmen). I couldn't believe this. I was disappointment with this as it was on the dry side for me. The frosting was really good though! lol Carmen loved the cake I got for her. I didn't ask how old she is, but betting in the 80's.

When I got to moms I cut the bun in sections. Then I put it out on a plate. Everyone seemed to like it. Michele liked it so much that I gave her the 1/4 that was left. I didn't want to bring it home. Patrick can't do "dry." I also baked the sour dough bread that I made. I was disappointed because it lost it's height due to the car. I should have let it raise again, but we didn't have the time to wait for it to rise.

I didn't do anything while at moms. Michele took the quilt that needed the binding stitched down and there was only one ready. So, I got a few books for mom since she wanted me to get her a few book on Libby.

I was given 2 quilts that are ready for labels along with 2 boxes full of fabric for QOV. I don't know where they will go, but I do know I will be needing to put it away! It's still on the table!

I left at the same time everyone else did. I didn't want to stay and help mom with the computer or whatever else she could come up with. I stopped at Safeway for shrimp. Then home.

I was and am tired! So, I played games. Now I'm ready to crash! I wish I had been Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Golf Day - My Time

I slept in after Patrick left for golfing. The neighbor was running the lawn mower and it was waking me up. Finally the phone rang and that got me out of bed - 9:30 am! Debbie called to say we had a donation donation that needed a W9 form. I went to work on getting what I could. We have the W9 now and I sent it off to her.

We received 2 quilt tops from Sara Bower today.

This is the biggest one. It's 90" x 70" which is big for us. We do 80" x 60" but I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth as they say. I cut the batting and backing for both quilt tops. Then I washed the backing and have it ready to go to Connie in the morning. We have to be at the Holiday Inn tomorrow by 7 am. Not my time but I will be there for the presentation.

I cleaned up. Got the kitty litter taken care of as well as getting some laundry done too. I enjoyed listening to my book as I was working. Made supper and then got started on sour dough bread.

I wanted to get at least a half hour on my cross stitching in.

I worked on the white in the center area. I didn't get a lot done, but even 100 stitches helps. That's the fun part about being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

What A Day!

This morning I was up and doing my exercises. Then I was out the door for my massage therapy in town. At times it hurt, but she's having to get to my muscles to get my back loosened up. Once that was done, I was off to physical therapy with Bob. First I stopped at moms to take photos of her quilt. I had to show them to Bob. Mom was on her way to "The Pantry" in town to give out free food. I went to therapy and the car already there was just like ours! First time I saw a car like ours around here.

He had me do a few other things and showed me how to use the roll. I'm good to go. Then made a stop at the car wash to get the car washed. By the time I got home, it was 1 pm. I had to eat something for lunch! lol

Then I sat out on the deck with Patrick and worked on my cross stitching.

I worked on the step ladder method and was getting it closer to having it done. I'm happy with what I have done. I'm enjoying this piece. I came back in the house because it was too hot for me! I couldn't believe it's getting hotter and I'm having a hard time with it. The good news is that my hands didn't get sweaty so I couldn't stitch much. This way I was able to get another 500 stitches done. I will work on it again tomorrow - MAYBE - unless I go downstairs to work on a quilt top. We need more quilts. I have an idea for the next one, so it won't take too long. The hard part will be the colors. Which always has me Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Morning To Myself - Afternoon Relaxing

This morning I was sleeping in after Patrick went golfing. When I finally got up, I ended up doing a few things that I forgot to do yesterday. I was on the computer working. Then I did my exercises. Once all that was done, I played on the tablet for a little bit. Around noon I decided I wanted to listen to my audio book and go on the deck to work on my beading.

I finished my wavy flag beaded bracelet. I realized I wasn't loose enough to get a better wave out of it. It fits on my wrist. So, I'm happy with it. The QOV charm is on the end. I will make a couple more later. Patrick came home about the time I finished the strip and then added the clasps.

After I finished the bracelet, I decided to work on my cross stitching.

I'm getting the "steps" back in order. I do like the ay this is coming. I have a few stitches to put in that are open. I will fix those before I roll the piece. I do like working on this. I got about 600 stitches in today. At times I thought I was off, but I realized I wasn't. Didn't have to take out much if any while I worked on this. I even listened to my book and stitched while Patrick was listening to his phone. Neither one of us was paying attention to the TV. Guess that is real Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

I Wanted To Bead Today

This morning I had 2 stops before going to the BE meeting. I didn't feel like working on BE stuff. So, I took my beading along with me.

Arrived and no one was there. I sat in the car listening to my book till Sandy V arrived. Then shortly after Sandy E arrived. Sandy E went to the thrift shop before coming to the meeting. She actually bought the Omini cross stitch bars CHEAP. But she didn't have the side bars. She's thinking of making her own side bars. I was a little surprised and not crazy about a her making something to work. But that's what she does and sometimes it really does work. She also found some cross stitch projects that someone started and didn't finish. So she got those as well. A couple of those was Heaven and Earth stuff.

I had a "panick" message from Debbie. She was quilting on a quilt that Kristi's friend did. A 1/4 of the way down she found a hole. Which meant she needed to take some stitching out and fix it. I left early today from the meeting and headed to Debbie's to help her rip out the quilting stitches. We had it done in about an hour and a half. She needs to sew the seams up and then put it back on the quilting frame to finish it.

Once all that was done, I came home.

Then I sat out on the deck with Patrick. I decided to work more on the bracelet that I started at the meeting.

I still have a few more flags to make. Then I will do the wave on this. Once that is done, I will use the charm with the clasp. It will be fun to see how it comes out. Just think - 2 bracelets! I would never have thought it! but I'm having fun making them. I seriously need to get back to my tapestries though!!

Of course Sophie had to be in my lap the whole time!! Plus that look is telling me to "suck it up!" She wanted the attention. But then I was having too much fun being Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Enjoying The Day Inside And Out

Patrick was off to golfing today. Not sure if he will go tomorrow since his partner doesn't want to wait till 8:30 or 9 to golf. He wants to get started at 8 am. Patrick can't figure out why he couldn't wait a half hour. Oh, well.

I spend the morning getting laundry going, fixing a certificate, cutting backing for Connie, and then washing the fabric. While I got all that done, I baked a cake - "Lazy Daisy Cake." It's one of Patrick's moms recipe.

About that time Patrick came home. I was starting to work on the bracelet. I decided to sit outside with Patrick on the deck. I worked on my beading while I was out there.

When I was looking around, I saw the Rhodes in a pretty red. I had to take a picture. Then I came back and saw the tree that we planted around the time we moved into the house. I think it was a year or two later. One of the kids brought it home from school and we planted it. We planted about 4 of those trees.

It's hard t believe it's grown so big! I really like it too! I just hope it doesn't take out the garage! lol

Then I went back to work on the bracelet. I finished the last twist and made the clasp. It was fun to work on! I do like working on this one. I have another one I want to do. It's the Wavy Flag. I watched the video by Kara Beading on YouTube for the twisted bracelet. Then I asked my daughter if she wanted it. It would go with her earrings. I texted her and she said she would take it. So, I told her it was going in the mail tomorrow. Hope it fits. I also told her I could fix it if it's not the right size. I'll do that the next time we see her.  That's what makes me Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Hello Saturday! A Day To Relax!

This morning I was up early and playing on my tablet. Then after Patrick was up, I got moving on getting him to cut my hair! I was so tired of it being so long. I still can't believe how short it feels after cutting off a good 5." Hee Hee. It feels good though. I do like it. Trouble is the bangs and that takes a couple days to look decent.

After that, I headed out on the deck and dead headed the hanging baskets. I also trimmed them a little. They are looking good, but the dead flowers was looking bad. Patrick worked on his garden gate. It turned out really well. I like how much easier it is to open then the old one. Then I cut some asparagus for supper. Put them in the fridge in water to keep them stiff.

Next I had this hair brained idea to get my beads organized and put away. I had 3 boxes of my monthly beads that I have each month. More will come in. I put them in the tubes and in the cases. Trouble is, my cases are full and I need to do some more moving around.

All those packets went into tubes.

Had to have my ice tea with me too!

All the cases that go in the box are full - like this! I need to work them into the second box, but I need to work on putting the other beads that are in that box, somewhere else. I will work on that. May have to pick up some more containers for that. That actually took all afternoon to work on!

I worked on the bracelet today. I received my QOV charms and want to make a flag bracelet for some of my group. So, I needed to finish this. I was able to get 2 more X's done. Now I need to do one more and then I can finish it. It's coming along pretty good. I hope to finish it tomorrow. Then start on at least one of the flag bracelets. Now, I'm done! I did a lot which kept me Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

A Trip To Olympia And Then Relaxing

This morning we were up at 7:30 am and out the door by 8:15 am. I had to be in Olympia for my Gastro appointment at 9:45 - with them telling me to be there 30 mins early!! We arrived around 9 am and then sat in the car for 10 mins. I was looking for Sherry from the Stars and Stripes QOV. She wasn't there so, I went on in to my appointment. I hadn't quiet signed in when they called me, so they had to wait on me. lol First time for that! After filling out paperwork - new name and company I guess, I was called back in. It sounds like most of my issues are STRESS. So, he gave me a medication that should help with the blotting and craps. That should help with the stress as well. I have to go back in 3 months.

Sherry was at Kaiser when she texted Patrick. So he headed over there to meet up with her. He picked up the quilt they offered us.

It's really pretty! I love what they did with this!

When I got out we went to Kaiser and had to wait about 15 mins at the pharmacy. I wanted to double check the medications was went to the mail order and not make me pick it up. They gal at the desk was confused. But we worked it out that it was actually sent to the mail order pharmacy - BUT they could have it ready for me in a day or two! lol - I said, "No, I want it sent to me."

Next stop was Costco for some odds and ends. Picked up a few things for Phillip as well. Dropped them off on the way back.

Came home and unloaded. Then sat in the chair - falling asleep. Patrick was napping in his chair and I got up and went to the couch. We both sleep for a good hour or more. We were beat!

When I got up, I started to work a little on the cross stitch small pieces that Cindy gave me. I didn't get much done. Decided I wanted to play on the tablet instead. They day was gone fast and I was enjoying some time to relax. It didn't help me with Happy Stitching/Happy Quilting!

Presentation Day For QOV

This morning I was running around trying to find all the stuff I needed to take with me. Thinking I had everything and finding out I forgot something isn't unusual for me! And of course, I did forget something!

I had to finish up the quilts that I needed to get to the museum.

This was one that Connie made. I put the label on this. Time was coming fast and I wanted to be out the door by 11 am.

This one was made by one of Kristi's friends. Label on and ready to go. I was just glad this quilt was finished. I took one to mom to get the binding stitched down. Then I gave Connie some more scraps. She was saying she needs to get to work on more scrap quilts. I took the container to Hildi, even showing it to her, and she forgot to take it. So, it's in the back of my car.

Getting Ready For Vacation

Today, I was working on laundry and getting ready for our trip. I wanted to work on my "bead starter strip" that can be used to s...
